Hello dearest Phantom Phans of tumblr! I am back with a happy post ♥️

For last Christmas, I received a ticket from my sister from another Mister, @pocketsaints , to see PotO in Madách theater ♥️!

This was the first time for both of us ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

It was on Sunday, 19th June 2022, the afternoon program, starting at 3 p.m.

The cast was amazing, Attila Csengeri played Erik, Christine was portrayed by Barbara Fonyó and Raoul's part was played by Gábor Bot. All three of them, but the full cast in general, was as awesome as I can't even describe it ♥️. Attila's voice is phantastic, extremely Erik- like to me, much better than the CD cast, in my opinion.

Hi GP! Do you have any particular favourite PONR's?

Hmm, a few takers, with links if available:

Michael Crawford and Dale Kristien - Old-school ‘Point of No Return’, and supposedly Kristien’s Christine tried to save the Phantom, not alert the police (she does seem to feel the mask rather early but does not run off or otherwise act all that panicked).

Eiji Akutagawa and Hisako Hanaoka - Two words: Boner Phantom.

Saulo Vasconcelos and Irasema Terrazas - One word: HANDS.

Juan Carlos Barona and Julia Moller - There’s some pretty serious fire going on with these two leads. The Phantom exposes a fair bit of Christine’s leg, and she in turn puts up quite the struggle when she figures out exactly who is under the cloak.

John Owen-Jones and Celia Graham - JOJ had some great chemistry with several of his Christines, and I love him with either Rachel Barrell (who is quite feisty around him) or Celia Graham (who brings some nice apple porn to the scene).

Brad Little and Lisa Vroman - Brad Little and Lisa Vroman had some of the most intense chemistry I’ve ever seen, and Little especially actually reacts throughout the song, rather than just sitting there.

Attila Csengeri and Barbara Fonyo - The Hungarian version of this scene in general is fun, as 1) Christine knows it’s the Phantom from the beginning and 2) decides to do a strip tease anyway. They’re all great, I’m just recommending this cast because it’s a favorite, and I linked to a gifset so you can get an idea of it.

John Cudia and Jennifer Hope Wills - More intense chemistry; like I’ve said in other posts, you would not believe these two actors had just started working with one another. I especially love Jennifer Hope Wills’s little slide along the bench.

Howard McGillin and Elizabeth Loyacano - This is mainly for Elizabeth Loyacano, who was fandom famous for a time for her absolutely seductive rendition of this scene, complete with lots of playing with that apple.

Flemming Enevold and Teresia Bokor - For the most part I prefer Mia Karlsson’s Christine, but Teresia Bokor owned this scene, playing a very flirty and drunk Aminta, with a cute little kick when she hikes her leg up onto the bench.

Tim Martin Gleason and Trista Moldovan - Trista Moldovan does some really unique things, like swishing her skirt and showing off some ankle, and while I don’t care much for his Phantom otherwise, I did like how TMG would react to her.

Greg Mills and Marni Raab - While a bit hit-and-miss, Marni Raab was at her best in this scene, acting quite the childish Aminta, lying on her stomach, kicking up her heels... and then taking a turn for the serious during the unmasking scene.

Cooper Grodin and Grace Morgan - The restaged tour’s version of this scene has always felt stage-y, but I do appreciate how Christine is actively manipulating the Phantom. Also, Grace Morgan does a great butt swivel.

Brent Barrett and Elizabeth Welch - This is pretty much a Welch appreciation post/video (she’s great at this scene with just about any Phantom), with her sensual yet playful Christine; her sliding forward on the bench and poking the Phantom (which can’t be seen as well in the linked video) is a highlight.

Fred Silveira and Lina Mendes - While otherwise not too remarkable, I have to admit that Fred Silveira and Lina Mendes were very passionate in this scene. I almost felt something watching them!

Egy kudarcra ítélt románc története: Miss Saigon

Cameron Mackintosh (a Nyomorultak musical producere) nevéhez fűződik ez a 70-es évekbeli Saigonban játszódó, kudarcra ítélt románc története. Az előadást 1989-ben mutatták be londoni Westenden (több mint 4000 előadást élt meg), majd a Broadwayn végül pedig Kanadában, Németországban, a Fülöp- szigeteken, Hollandiában, Braziliában, Norvégiában és Új- Zélandon is műsorra került. Magyarországon először 1994-ben, Szegeden mutatták be a darabot és ezt a bemutatót sok kőszínházas előadás követte, majd 2011- ben újra műsorra tűzték és töretlen sikernek örvend!

A történet a Vietnámi háború ideje alatt játszódik, amikor az amerikai katonák Saigonban állomásoznak. A pihenőjüket töltő katonák betérnek egy bárba, ahol, a futtatónál dolgozó lányok csapata is jelen van, ott táncolnak és teszik a férfiaknak a szépet. Itt találkozik a visszafogott, szűzies Kim, Chrisszel, aki az együtt töltött éjszaka után ígéretet tesz a lánynak, hogy magával viszi Amerikába. Összeházasodnak, de az élet mást szán nekik.

Évekkel később, Kim a gyermekét (Bui-Doi) egyedül nevelő nő, levelet ír a férfinak, amiben arra kéri őt, hogy látogassa meg közös gyermeküket. A férfi így is tesz, de nem egyedül érkezik, hanem feleségével, Ellennel. A vietnámi nő a Chrisszel való majdnem újratalálkozáskor, csak annyit kér az új feleségtől, hogy a félvér fiúról gondoskodjanak a férfival. – Ez Kim utolsó kívánsága és ezek után saját kezűleg vet véget az életének. A férfi már csak a halott asszonyt találja meg és a szék mögött megbúvó fiút…

Kimről (Dancs Annamari), Chrisről (Kocsis Dénes), John-ról (Feke Pál) a Professzorról (Szabó P. Szilveszter), Thuy-ról (Kerényi Miklós Máté), Ellen-ről (Vágó Bernadett) most nem írok külön, mert senkit sem szeretnék befolyásolni.

Ezért csak annyit írok, hogy szerintem ritka jó volt a szereposztás és mindenkit arra buzdítok, hogy nézze meg az Operettszínházban a Miss Saigon című előadást, ami töretlen sikernek örvend és az előadás végén a „standing ovation” sem marad el;-)

Ha hinni lehet, a tavaly felröppent pletykáknak, akkor nem maradunk musical film nélkül a jövőben sem, ugyanis a Nyomorultak után szeretnék elkészíteni a Miss Saigon című alkotásból is a filmverziót. – Erre én nagy esélyt látok, mert a Nyomorultak a tavalyi év egyik legsikeresebb filmje lett.

Tanz Santa here to say that Steve Barton and Egyházi Géza, yes!! I have some other faves, too, but I'm glad to note we have two favourite Counts in common. :D While I haven't been lucky enough to see Egyházi Géza play the part live, I once got to attend a concert where he sang some Tanz songs – oh wow, oh wow, oh wooow. His voice is just fantastic. Do you have other favourite Hungarian performers or shows? Hope you're having a good weekend!

And Szabó P. Szilveszter!! Hands down my favourite Hungarian musical theater singer. I also really like Dolhai Attila, Janza Kata, Bereczki Zoltán, Polyák Lilla, Sasvári Sándor, Bot Gábor, and Mester Tamas. I kinda like the other Phantom Posta Victor, don’t really like Csengeri Attila. And all the shows I like are just Hungarian productions of other musicals. I love their Tanz der Vampire and Elisabeth. I also really like their Phantom of the opera. From the parts I’ve seen and heard I like their Rebecca, Romeo and Juliet, Mozart, and Marie Antoinette. I really want to see/hear more of their Chess concert. Egyházi Géza sounds amazing as Anatoly. It uses the London plot I think? Oh! I’m really excited to hear more of their Hunchback of Notre Dame. I really like that Frollo whips himself with his crucifix during Hellfire. I think they are using more of the 1999 Berlin than the new one from a few years back. They are using the 3 Gargoyles like the movie and the Berlin musical. Though they are kinda going with the aesthetic style of the new one, like how Quasi deformity isn’t makeup, its more up to your imagination.
