just wondering, I can always make headcanons but what would your Wally be like if he had a crush and/or was in a relationship? I was thinking about making a fanfic but I don't know how wally would act.
I wrote a whole page just now and it didn’t save so I might be missing something’s. Also including some facts about him.
🍎Before relationship🍎
Wally has a very hot-and-cold personality. He can be charming one second, get embarrassed, then go cold and distant the next.
He can’t handle being flirted with, it gets him flustered.Romance related things make him nervous
So having a crush would probably make him a wreck.
Wally has a tendency to be distant to anyone that isn’t his group of friends
He still likes apples and is a big animal lover, cats being his favorite. Puns are also funny to him (but he won’t tell Barnaby that)
He loves getting hugs and would still go limp if he was getting one
The mole under his eye is actually an ink spot that was stained into his skin when he used to work as a secretary.
He can still eat with his eyes but won’t do it often because it might scare the kids if they saw.
PDA makes him flustered. Literally holding hands makes him red.
To his friends, he’s laidback and soft spoken. Usually with his droopy sleepy eyes.
He doesn’t like being looked down at which is hard because he’s like 3ft
Wally would dance around feelings because he wouldn’t know what to do with them
Tumblr media
🌸In relationship 🌸
It takes a while to figure out what the feelings are cause he kinda has no emotional intelligence
He needs time to get comfortable but once he does, he’s the sweetest cutest thing ever.
He still can’t handle pda but now initiates it.
Wally can be very generous with material possessions. There’s no such thing as too much for the people he loves.
He can try to act smooth but will ultimately crumple
He can be annoying sometimes but that’s part of his charm
Wally can start to be a bit protective
There’s more that I’ll add when I remember. I also don’t mind if you change some stuff to fit the story line better, headcanons welcomed

Could you do a story about reader (gn) who communicates w/ home like Wally does? Like they used to live in home like a year before Wally moved and reader moved out and came back from like college or smth and has a diff house in the neighborhood now? Like reader and home have full on conversations and Wally is just like:???
If not that completely understandable:) drink water eat ur fav food! And get sleep! ❤️❤️
Hello dearie! Thanks so much for the request, I did change some things so I hope you don't mind, and thanks for reminding me to go to sleep! But alas let's start with the fic!
Home is a language
Pairing: Wally Darling x Baker!Gender neutral Reader
Illustrated Au
Picture is from @qep0ermint!
Tumblr media
Y/n has lived in home since they were a kid, if anything they loved the house and talking to it everyday and Home, that was the house name, definetly loved you. Home considered Y/n so kind, sweet yet hyper and that made Home overprotective of them. Maybe a tad too overprotective but they didn't mind; Y/n was sad to part ways with Home but it needed to be done since their parents needed them back home and so with a teary goodbye they left Welcome Home.
Home did get a new guest in its walls, his name is Wally Darling and it was hard not to love the guy. He was charming, calm and sweet, very creative too and soon Home took a liking to the character but never forgetting their OG roommate.
A year gas gone by and Y/n was finally back in Welcome Home, their house has finally been built and their parents were doing just fine without him again, they went to the university too! They even got a degree in baking like they always wanted and Barnaby has sent them multiple letter to let them know of how everything was going around there. They were beyond excited to meet the new neighbor that lives in Home, Barnaby said his name was William Diary? Now he remembers, his name is Wally Darling!
Y/n smiles looking at their new home while looking around their old neighborhood. Their house fitted in perfectly, it was a bit further away from the rest but it still looked perfect along the other houses. Y/n decided that they were going to walk around for a bit since the weather was crisp perfect but after some minutes of walking around they got tackled.
"Y/n! I can't believe that you are here, that you are back!!!," Screamed rather happily Barnaby, normally he would just be quieter if we compared him to Julie. Y/n chuckled and Barnaby picked them up after getting off them, y/n saw a guy behind Barnaby; he had blue hair put in a pompodur, some rainbow pants, a blue cardigan and the look was closed with a red handkerchief tied tightly on his neck. He was cute, definetly y/n's type if they had any in the first place.
"Hello, I'm Y/n L/n! You must be Wally Darling," said Y/n in a soft voice that left Wally speechless so he nodded as a response which made y/n smile while they thought something simple "so he is shy! That's adorable".
As days went by Wally and Y/n got closer, Wally actually invited y/n to his house today and was a nervous wreck. Most of his friends avoided going in his house saying that they were busy but Wally knew deep down that they were scared of Home.
"Hello Home! Long time no see," said Y/n smoothly as soon as they entered Home. Home squeaked and bang the doors in response and Wally was ready to go outside until he heard Y/n laugh.
"I know it has been a year Home! That is why I said 'long time no see' silly," said Y/n within giggle's and Home answer with some creaks from the floorboard and the windows opening and closing.
"My pops are good! Thanks for asking Home, I have really missed talking with you!," Exclaimed y/n happily while Home pulled out a chair for y/n to sit down and they did with a smile on their face. Home started talking with them and they started catching up but Wally was still standing by the entrance, confused as to what was happening.
When Y/n left Wally asked Home what was that all about and Home told him about their shared history while he undid his pompodur, letting his blue hair free.
Wally sighted while letting his head rest on top of his arms, hair flipped to a side and started smiling unconsciously. He couldn't get you out of his mind, something about today felt so domestic and he loved it. He could get used to it, with a dreamy sight he started thinking, maybe he could ask you out on a date? He should ask Barnaby tomorrow.
Here you dearie! I hope you liked it, let me know if you want a part two @whoamveye

A quick question, how would Aristotle act if he got a kiss on the cheek? (If too uncomfortable it's okay not answer!) Or how would the whole bbu crew flirt? Im too curious and HAPPY EARLY CHRISTMAS BBU GANG!
Ok, when it comes to romance, I have to say I both have some facts and headcanons, so to answer this I'll try and go with what I personally know so it's mostly headcanons here. ^^'
Billie: Billie is aroace, and considering she's rather neutral about her father being in love with Aristotle, chances are that they're simply not interested in romance, or flirting.
Aristotle: Based on drawings with Arthur, Aristotle was the loving, affectionate kind. He'd definitely "flirt" by giving compliments and assuring words. Oh, and he'd absolutely melt when kissed, I'm sure!
Arthur: Kinda unlike Billie, I think Arthur would be into romance, but unlike Aristotle's romantic self, he'd definitely try to impress his crush by feats of cool acts or cool outfits, making him appear kinda like a goof who's trying so hard to impress that it comes off as endearing.
Elaine: Elaine is actually in a relationship, and her plot revolves around it: if she loves you, she'll fight tooth and nail for you. I don't see her as much of a flirt, I picture her as someone who shows her love by acts of service, like being a kind eaar for your troubles, or support in your interests.
Percy: Very soft hearted and loving, Percy would absolutely be a most comforting and devoted partner. Something tells me he would be a bit shy to confess his feelings, or even flirt, but if he manages to, he'd mostly gush on everything he loves about you: he's very sweet!
Scrimshaw: Here's the thing with Scrim: he may flirt and charm people like it's nothing, but when it comes to commitment, he's a bit fickle, not one to really be tied down to a relationship. I think it'd take a while for him to actually be open to really consider you a partner. Keep trying, tho': it may happen someday! At the very least, he loves the attention.
Dutch: Dutch strikes me off as someone who's cordial, but not completely open about his real self: if he knows you, he's more willing to show his true personality, warts and soft side. He's very charismatic and knows how to charm, so I bet that, among the main cast, he'd be the biggest flirt of all, selling even the corniest of pick up lines with his southern flair.
Hayes: Poor dear would be a shy, nervous wreck around their crush, if they happened to catch feelings for someone. Usually it's not on their mind since they're very focused on their work, but when it happens, oh, it takes their whole heart, but would be shy to confess, or even flirt. They might need help from their crush to fully confess, and if that happens, oh, such a couple would be the sweetest around!
Basile: He may be gruff on the outside, but as seen with his wife Pom, you can tell he loves someone by showing his soft side, smiling and just being very sweet. Not sure if he'd be a flirt, tho'.
Barnaby: Ash said this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, yeah, in his own ways, Barnaby is VERY romantic: if he likes you in a romantic way, he's very affectionate. Not sure if he would flirt, but he definitely would give his partner a lot of hugs and nuzzles. whether prompted or not. And would absolutely stand close to you during any party (that he'd most likely organized to your liking). Of course, if you want full commitment, you'd have to die, but it'd be worth it to stay with him forever, right?
Fantoccio: From what I've seen Fantoccio doesn't open up easily with people, but knowing his love for theatre, I bet that if he loves you he'd flirt by doing great gestures of love, like a Shakesperean ode to your beauty and charm, or offering you your favorite flowers. He'd also be more happily willing to show his interests and hyperfixations, if he trusts that you won't make fun of him. So, yeah, it may take a while, but when it happens, he's 100% devoted.
Dimitri: Not sure how this goof would act when it comes to romance, but something tells me that he'd definitely try to flirt by coming with hyped up corny lines... only for his tail to reveal what he thinks of his crush, thus making him flail and fluster all over. Very awkward, but surprisingly endearing, in a way.

Lot of good bits in episode 13, but I decided to redraw an action shot as a challenge, or perhaps due to some kind of madness. Either way, here's Barnaby about to wreck Jake's whole shit

Alright guys hear me out, we all know of Ler Howdy. I mean look at the guy, hes big and hes got four arms this man is the most powerful ler in the neighborhood.
But i bring you this concept…..Lee Howdy.
I mean, imagine the others, especially the smaller puppets who he has a habit of picking up and wrecking *cough cough* Wally and Julie. Thinking he needs to get taken down a peg, so they enlist the help of some of their bigger friends, like Barnaby, in helping take down the four armed piller!
It takes a bit of struggling of course and some close calls, but with the help of all of them they manage to pin him down and thats when the fun begins >:3
Cause while having four arms is certainly an advantage, having four arms and multiple legs can also be a bit of a downside when your the one on the receiving end.
Especially when your knees and underarms are one of your worse spots >:3c

Do you think you might be willing to do something with lee Barnaby and ler Fantoccio? Maybe Fanto finding out Barnaby's got a ticklish neck and giving them the most playful evil grin before summoning the giant wooden hands he uses during his boss fight to wreck the owl?
Maybe in the future. I have requests closed for the time being and I don’t wanna open any floodgates for that atm ^^;
Keep an eye on my bio, maybe I’ll open em up again sometime.
I do have some bbu t ideas tho. Just been a bit drained and focused on other things!

Rules: Go to your published works on AO3 and list the first fic you ever published there, the last fic you published, any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once, your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works, the fic you wish more people read, the fic you agonized over the most, the fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort, and a work you are proud of—for whatever reason.
First fic published on Ao3: House of Red Dreaming, a post-S4 Whitechapel fic following the detectives as they attend a remote team-building session which was definitely haunted. Intended to be the first in a series which would resolve the Louise Iver arc. Baby Duck was ambitious.
Last fic published: A Village Built on Bones, a Midsomer fic in which Barnaby & Winter investigate the murder of a gothic horror author. Not entirely sure when I'll be able to update it, what with Whumptober and NaNo coming up, so it's languishing a bit on the to-do list. Adult Duck is. also ambitious.
Fandom/ship I only wrote once: There are a few of these, but I'm going with Pyre (in which Owen has fire trauma) because frankly only having written once for Parkdale Haunt is an error I'm hoping to correct.
Favorite fic in most popular fandom/ship: Assuming the most popular ship I've written for is TMA's Jon/Martin (which I've not checked, but. it's Jon/Martin), Autumn, in which Martin is Missing Presumed Gone and Jon has feelings about it. It was the first Jon/Martin fic I wrote and a friend told me it made them cry at their workplace, which is the kind of review I'm proud of.
Fic I wish more people read: Going to go with Firelight's Edge/Paper Boats, in which a traumatised Nelson returns to Midsomer but can't quite make it home, and Winter tries to help while ignoring his rapidly-developing crush. Because it's my most Winter/Nelson fic so far and presumably if more people read it, that would mean that there were more people thinking about my pool noodle ship, and the more people think about the ship, the higher the odds of someone else also writing for it? This is how maths works, right? Also I think the fic's pretty good.
Fic I agonized over: I have 107 fics posted and I don't think there's a single one I didn't agonise over. So. All of them. Especially the ones I didn't post. For the purposes of this, though, between the dark and firelight, a RQG fic following Tjelvar, Edward and Carter as they're hired to seek an artefact that could bring magic back to the world. Big Bang fics are always agonising, trying to strike the balance between The Vision (TM) and what you have the time and ability to write, and this one had the additional difficulty of dealing with characters who were deeply traumatised in ways that made them behave badly towards others (and trying to treat that sensitively), while also trying to contain an adequate quest and romance arc. Might just be a case of "most recently quite agonising", though.
Fic that popped out fully-formed: prooobably blood on the beach and a wreck in the water, currently my only fic for The Secret of St Kilda, feat. Lockie hiding an injured Matthias post-S1, because if I don't see the body there's no MCD, and good luck with that in an audio medium, okay? I'd been struggling with writing and then I was poking bits of this out on my phone and the words came easily and felt good as I was writing them which. never happens. I'm scared to look at it again in case it isn't as good as I remember thinking it was.
Fic I'm proud of: uhhhhhh proud of things I've written isn't really a state that comes to me naturally but I guess I'll take In Sunlight, in which Edward searches for Tjelvar after escaping Rome. Ed/Tjelvar is a very special ship to me, as it started off as just me and two people who are now some of my fondest friends, one of whom worked with me on this fic as my Big Bang artist. It was one of two RQBB fics I wrote that year (we've since changed the rules not to let people do this because it turns out it's a fast-train to burnout, who would have thought?), so I'm kind of baffled that I finished it, and it had a great response for what will always in my head be a rarepair (though apparently has 88 works now? wild). The (69) comments assure me the fic is good which is very nice of them.
No-pressure tags for @an-anonymous-friend, @badgerhuan, @icescrabblerjerky, @kd-heart, @pjmarvell <3 also anyone else who sees this and would like to do it pls take this as a tag for you

T&B2 Thoughts: Episode 8 – You can't judge a book by its cover.
Haha, y’all miss me? I thought I would take a little break before wrapping up these posts but then I blinked and it’s July. So let’s get on with episode 8, shall we?
- And we start off with a resounding what the fuck, Thomas?!
Tumblr media
- I think this is the first time we've seen a hero really cross the line when dealing with a criminal. Hell, the last time we saw Agnes cut for something like this, it was when Jake was beating the absolute shit out of Kotetsu and Jake was. Uh. Not really what one would call “a good guy.” Subaru's almost too stunned to do anything at first, but at least he's able to pull Thomas off the guy before it goes too far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- And Thomas doesn't really have a ringing defense of his actions, despite Carlotta's best efforts. I'm pretty sure saying "I was just immature" is not the excuse you want to give to the director of the justice department, especially when they're discussing your suspension and possible firing.
- I was kind of surprised that Barnaby and Kotetsu were there for Yuri’s debrief on the incident and Thomas’s punishment. Agnes and Carlotta have obvious reasons for being there, and same with Subaru, but Barnaby and Kotetsu really don’t? The only thing I can think is that, since they’re both veteran heroes and they’re the most veteran buddy pair, Yuri lets them in on stuff like this to assess how the buddy system is working.
Tumblr media
- "I think there are people you can trust," Barnaby says, with a soft smile and to Kotetsu's visible surprise. I know I keep banging this drum in, like, every single one of these recaps, but I'm not over it and I'm not over Barnaby realizing that he used to be like Thomas. But he trusts Kotetsu now, and he trusts the other heroes, to the point that when he hears Thomas making an argument he used to make, he steps in to disagree.
- I do like that they lampshade the bits of Subaru and Thomas that are like Kotetsu and Barnaby, because watching it, that’s my first reaction. And it’s nice to see that the show follows that train of thought into the very next scene. Barnaby sees how angry and mistrustful Thomas is and recognizes how he was when he'd first started as a hero. He remembers why he was like that and that's why he wants to reach out, but he's also more aware that his overtures probably won't be welcomed.
Tumblr media
- Also honestly Mattia, how do you spend this much time talking to Barnaby and not realize that he has a Hero Face that is very different from how he really is? I'm glad Barnaby has someone else to talk to but I kind of want to shake Mattia sometimes; he's so naïve.
- And speaking of Mattia, the amount of bad science happening here is concerning. Absolutely no way this could go wrong.
- I really like the scene with Subaru freaking out about the article he finds online and Barnaby and Kotetsu assuring him it's fake. I know it goes into the plot for this episode, but it's also another glimpse at the things the heroes deal with on a regular basis as public figures.
- Subaru really is trying to be a good buddy for Thomas but he's. You know. Seventeen. And handles delicate situations with all the finesse of a wrecking ball, which is not really a great way to handle someone like Thomas.
- Although guys, I swear to fuck, just because someone isn't home doesn't mean they've run away. Come on, I know you know this!!
Tumblr media
- And now we get Thomas’s backstory, which is very ow, between what happened with his sister and seeing how NEXT discrimination prevented him from getting adopted. I appreciate the steps they took to make his background different from Barnaby’s, because when you’re already drawing parallels between those two characters in terms of their temperament and then Thomas’s backstory starts off with how he was orphaned, it’s hard not to side-eye a little bit.
My very first reaction was not really a great one, I admit, because there’s an instinctive wall that slams down when it looks like a show is trying to make me like a new character by making them very similar to an old character I adore. And at first glance, it looks like that’s what they’re doing here. However, that’s not why they’re giving Thomas the background they are---they really are making him his own character, not just Barnaby-lite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- THE TWINS ARE IN THE HERO MUSEUM. And they’re are here specifically for the display on L.L. Audun. It seems like he had the Hundred Power, too, or at least the Hundred Power crops up in his museum display, which seems a little odd if it was Legend's and not his.
Was he really prevented from being a hero because his father was a criminal? Or did Maverick see the opportunity for ratings with an Audun vs. Legend rivalry? I really hope we get some more information on this in the next half of this season.
Tumblr media
- Me @ Thomas for this entire scene in the couple's house: LEAVE. LEAVE. GO HOME. DON'T STAY FOR DINNER. DON'T STAY THE NIGHT. Nobody is this nice!! Nobody! Like yes, I want it to be the case, but my danger gauge is shrieking off the charts throughout this entire scene.
Tumblr media
- This is the absolute sweetest thing: all the heroes with blue stress balls during their post-heroing interview, showing Thomas that they support him. And it’s Barnaby’s idea! I don’t think Thomas realizes that he has been adopted at this point---it’s a weird little family but they're there for each other, and that includes him, no matter what.
Tumblr media
- Goddammit I fucking knew it.
Tumblr media
- Also holy shit did Thomas actually kill these people?? Show?? Are we gonna get a resolution on that? (I feel like we have to, but still, holy shit.)
- What do you think the homeowners are going to say when they come home and find one of their bedrooms completely trashed and possibly two unconscious or dead criminals on the floor??
- The show’s done a lot with Thomas that's very different from what they've done with all the other heroes and their backgrounds (that we've seen so far). Even Barnaby never totally lost his cool like Thomas did in the beginning of this episode (and especially not in front of the cameras), and he was just a bundle of severe anger issues in the first half of s1. And it's got to be significant that we see Thomas repeating Audun's mantra in one of his flashbacks, just like the twins. I feel like there are a lot of ways they could go with it, but I do wonder if he's going to go darkside or something like that in the next half of the season.
Tumblr media
- DATE ATTEMPT #5. They don’t even get all the way through “how about we go out tonight” before their PDAs go off and they’ve got to get back to work. I can’t. I can’t even that “five times Kotetsu and Barnaby tried to have a date” was an actual fucking subplot this season. I just. That SURE IS A THING THAT THEY DID.
Tumblr media
- BARNABY NO
- The way Kotetsu fucking screams "Bunny!" at the end took me from "oh no" to "OH SHIT" in less than a second. Like damn there is no way to better indicate that this is not a normal hero injury than that. I don't think we've ever heard Kotetsu sound that panicked, not even when they were fighting the android at the end of s1.
- And thus begins the cliffhangers until the end of the arc. Buckle up, buttercup; we’re into it now.
Tumblr media
- Hm, I’m sure that purple glowing stuff is in no way something to be concerned about.

I really like the idea that somehow, some way, all the Billie Bust Up Villains manage to become friends after the game (Fantoccio doesn't die, nope, I refuse to believe it) and become less Villains and more "villains". Domesticated is the only word that comes to mind. Aristotle and Billie are very, VERY worried about them getting along, but the worst they really do is pranks and a little chaos. I have a few ideas for shenanigans they could get up to as well!
The first idea is just REALLY sad but sweet:
Fantoccio is an Actor, and he loves to act more than anything else. But, dispite that, he really struggles to enter a Theater, because he's terrified he won't be able to leave. He really hates himself for being unable to go on stage. Thinks that makes him useless.
The others really want to help him not be so scared, but they don't know how. Until Barnaby suggests that they should just remove the walls, so Fantoccio Can't be trapped. Unfortunately, no one is willing to lend any of them a wrecking ball, for obvious reasons.
So, that idea leads to Dutch and Elaine purchasing an outdoor theater for Fantoccio to perform in. No walls, no doors, no trap.
He's so exited about it that, if he wasn't made of wood, his face pats would bruise his cheeks. He even cries a little bit, probably making Barnaby cry with him.

have a delicious idea for angst and hurt/comfort with your ocs... how would they react if they woke up from a nightmare something happened to their s/o (the reader?). which ones would check on you immediately, which would tell you, which would just become a little bit clingier for no discernible reason? ~ @nastyatticman
AAAAAAA THAT'S SO SAD HELL YEAH I'M GONNA WRITE IT!
My OCs Had A Nightmare About Their S/O
Alder Darling- Instant sobbing, he’s a complete and total wreck. He can’t lose you too. Wakes you up when he grabs you and holds you close. You can probably guess why he’s like that, so just hold him, pet him, and reassure him you’re safe.
Julian Sallow- Bolts awake and looks around for you. When he sees you sleeping beside him, he puts his hand under your nose to make sure you’re breathing. Satisfied, he goes back to sleep and you never find out.
Everett Byrd- Lots of tears, and he gently shakes you awake and explains his dream. He’s trembling badly. Get him a glass of water and sit with him for a bit until he’s calmed enough to sleep, or take him to his aviary and relax with him there a bit.
Opal- Wraps herself around you like a spider monkey without telling you what happened. Dead or alive, you’re not leaving her, though she’s very relieved you’re still living. She won’t let you get away that easily.
Barnaby- Says your name with increasing worry and volume until you’re awake, nudging you gently in the side with his hand. Once you’ve woken up, he’ll tell you every little detail of his nightmare and that he just wanted to make sure you’re still alive.

Roman! Did you just declare the likelyhood that you could die in a car-wreck within earshot of Patton!?
Roman winced when there was a shuffling sound from behind them. He and Logan had gotten a bit carried away and he’d forgotten about Patton for a moment in his agitation. It couldn’t be good for him to hear them arguing about Logan not being fit for driving considering his fear of cars, though that was not Roman’s fault. It was Logan’s. He was about to turn back and check on the boy when, to his confusion, Patton giggled.
Roman turned back just to see Barnaby the Bear floating in thin air.
“I... uh, Logan.”
“And another thin-”
Eerily calm, Roman interrupted him. “Logan look behind you and tell me that what I’m seeing isn’t what I think it is.”
Logan decided to actually heed one of Roman’s instructions and glanced in the rearview mirror. Roman could almost see the gears in his brain stutter. It would have been funny. But. He jerked his head around to look at the floating bear quickly before looking back at the road. Then he looked over and met Roman’s eyes. Yeah, it was what Roman thought, wasn’t it?
((Achievement Unlocked: A Haunting Discovery))
Roman opened his mouth and screamed.
Thomas is open for questions.
Roman is open for questions.
Patton is open for questions.
Logan is open for questions.

Early yearsEdit
Tobey was born in 1917 in Oakland, California. Following his graduation from high school in 1935, Kenneth entered the University of California, Berkeley with intentions to pursue a career in law until he began to dabble in acting at the school's theater.[1] His stage experience there led to a drama scholarship, a year-and-a-half of study at New York's Neighborhood Playhouse, where his classmates included fellow actors Gregory Peck, Eli Wallach, and Tony Randall.[2][3]
During World War II, Tobey joined the United States Army Air Forces, serving in the Pacific as a rear gunner aboard a B-25 bomber.[3] Throughout the 1940s, with the exception of his time in military service, Tobey acted on Broadway and in summer stock. After appearing in a 1943 film short, The Man of the Ferry, he made his Hollywood film debut in the 1947 Hopalong Cassidy western Dangerous Venture. He then went on to appear in scores of features and on numerous television series. In the 1949 film Twelve O' Clock High, he is the negligent airbase sentry who is dressed down by General Frank Savage (played by Gregory Peck). That same year Tobey performed in a brief comedy bit in another film, I Was a Male War Bride. His performance in that minor part caught the attention of director Howard Hawks, who promised to use the thirty-two-year-old actor in something more substantial.
The Thing from Another WorldEdit
In 1951, Tobey was cast in Howard Hawks' production The Thing from Another World. In this classic sci-fi film he portrays Captain Patrick Hendry, a United States Air Force pilot, who at the North Pole leads a scientific outpost's dogged defense against an alien portrayed by James Arness, later the star of the television series Gunsmoke. Tobey's performance in Hawks' film garnered the actor other parts in science fiction movies in the 1950s, usually reprising his role as a military officer, such as in The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953) and It Came from Beneath the Sea (1956).
TelevisionEdit
Tobey appeared in the 1952 episode "Counterfeit Plates" on the CBS series Biff Baker, U.S.A., an espionage drama starring Alan Hale, Jr. He was cast too in the 1954-1955 CBS legal drama The Public Defender, starring Reed Hadley. He guest-starred in three episodes of NBC's western anthology series Frontier. His Frontier roles were as Wade Trippe in "In Nebraska" (1955) and then as Gabe Sharp in "Out from Texas" and "The Hostage" (1956). In 1955, he also portrayed legendary frontiersman Jim Bowie on ABC's Davy Crockett, a Walt Disney production, with Fess Parker in the title role. After Bowie's death in the series at the Battle of the Alamo, Tobey played a second character, Jocko, in the two final episodes of Davy Crockett.
Tobey then, in 1957, appeared in the syndicated religion anthology series Crossroads in the role of Mr. Alston in the episode "Call for Help" and as Jim Callahan in "Bandit Chief" in the syndicated western series The Sheriff of Cochise. Later that same year, Tobey starred in the television series The Whirlybirds, a successful CBS and then-syndicated adventure produced by Desilu Studios. In it he played the co-owner of a helicopter charter service, along with fellow actor Craig Hill. The Whirlybirds was a major hit in the United States and abroad, with 111 episodes filmed through 1960. It remained in syndication worldwide for many years.
In 1958, Tobey also appeared as John Wallach in the episode "$50 for a Dead Man" in Jeff Richards's NBC western series Jefferson Drum. In 1960, he guest-starred in the episode "West of Boston" of another NBC western series, Overland Trail, starring William Bendix and Doug McClure. Also in 1960, he appeared as Colonel Lake on Death Valley Days and on ABC's western The Rebel, starring Nick Adams. Tobey made three guest appearances on Perry Mason, twice in 1960 and once in 1962 as Jack Alvin, a deputy district attorney. On the long-running western series Gunsmoke, he portrayed a cruel, knife-wielding buffalo hunter in the 1960 episode titled "The Worm".[4] Tobey in 1962 also guest-starred on another Western series, Lawman, playing the character Duncan Clooney, an engineer who seeks to move a shipment of nitroglycerin through Laramie, Wyoming. When the town is evacuated to allow passage of the explosives, two of Clooney's employees decide they will take advantage of the situation to rob the bank.[5]
Tobey guest-starred as well in Jack Lord's 1962-1963 ABC adventure series about a rodeo circuit rider, Stoney Burke. In 1967 he performed on the series Lassie, in the episode "Lure of the Wild", playing a retired forest ranger who tames a local coyote. He also appeared as a slave owner named Taggart in "The Wolf Man", a 1967 episode of Daniel Boone, starring Fess Parker.[6] A few of the many other series in which Tobey later performed include Adam-12 (1969), Gibbsville (1976), MV Klickitat (1978), Emergency! (1975), and Night Court (1985). Tobey also appeared in Barnaby Jones; episode titled, "Fantasy of Fear" (02/25/1975).
He became a semi-regular on the NBC series I Spy as the field boss of agents Robinson and Scott. Christian Nyby, director of The Thing From Another World, often directed those episodes. Tobey also portrayed a ship's captain on the Rockford Files, in an episode titled "There's One in Every Port".
Other filmsEdit
In 1957, Tobey portrayed a sheriff in The Vampire (a film that some sources today often confuse with the 1935 production Mark of the Vampire). That year he also appeared in a more prestigious film, serving as a featured supporting character with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, the co-stars of John Ford's The Wings of Eagles.[7] In that film, Tobey—with his naturally red hair on display in vibrant Metrocolor—portrays a highly competitive United States Army Air Service officer. In one memorable scene he has the distinction of shoving a piece of gooey cake into the face of John Wayne, whose character is a rival United States Navy aviation officer. Not surprisingly, a room-wrecking brawl ensues.
Tobey's work over the next several decades was increasingly involved in television productions. He did, though, continue to perform in a range of feature films, such as Stark Fear, Marlowe, Billy Jack, Walking Tall, The Howling, the war movie MacArthur (in which he portrays Admiral "Bill"[8] Halsey), Airplane!, Gremlins, Big Top Pee-wee, and Gremlins 2: The New Batch.[9]
BroadwayEdit
Although Tobey had a busy acting career in films and on television, he also periodically returned to the stage. In 1964 he began a long run on Broadway opposite Sammy Davis, Jr., in the musical version of Clifford Odets' play Golden Boy. Some of his other Broadway credits are As You Like It, Sunny River, Janie, Sons and Soldiers, A New Life, Suds in Your Eye, The Cherry Orchard, and Truckline Cafe.[10]
Later yearsEdit
As his long career drew to a close, Tobey still received acting jobs from people who had grown up watching his performances in sci-fi films of the 1950s, particularly Joe Dante, who included the veteran actor in his stock company of reliable players. Two appearances on the sitcom Night Court came the same way, through fans of his work. Along with other character actors who had been in 1950s sci-fi and horror films (John Agar, Robert O. Cornthwaite, Gloria Talbott, etc.), Tobey starred in a spoof originally titled Attack Of The B Movie Monster. In 2005, Anthem Pictures released the completed feature version of this spoof on DVD under the new title The Naked Monster. Tobey's scenes in that release were actually shot in 1985, so The Naked Monster is technically his final film credit, being released three years after his death. He had, however, continued to act throughout most of the 1990s. One of those notable roles is his performance in the 1994 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Shadowplay" as Rurigan, an alien who recreates his dead friends as holograms. Among other examples of Tobey's final decade of work are his two appearances as Judge Kent Watson on the series L.A. Law.
In 2002, Tobey died of natural causes at age 85 in Rancho Mirage, California.

Headcanon facts #20
Non-MC-related relationships.
Friendships:
Barnaby and Ismelda - I know that it’s part of the canon that they are friends, but in my headcanon they are best friends. The part where Ismelda tried to use love potion on Barnaby is not part of the headcanon, so she doesn’t have the same creepy vibes to her. Although she was mad at him for switching sides at the end of year 3, she still cared deeply about him and stayed in touch with him behind Merula’s back. She also had a crush on him and it got resolved in year 5, but again - no love potion. Also, she hates that Barnaby is involved with Luna (and it’s not part of the headcanon yet, but she might successfully come between them in year 6.)
Barnaby and Merula - Even though she’s not as close to him as Ismelda, toward the middle of year 4, they become friends again.
Barnaby and Rath - I wouldn’t say they’re good friends, but since Barnaby is the other Slytherin Beater in my headcanon, they spent a lot of time practicing together.
Tonks and Tulip - So, it’s never clearly stated in the canon (although hinted in many occasions), but in the headcanon they are best friends. The fact that they both love pranks so much brought them together and they’ve been friends ever since.
Charlie, Barnaby and Liz (Technically also Luna) - Their fascination with Magical Creatures brought them all closer.
Jacob and Chester - In the game they just mention that Chester knew him (and they were... sort of friends? I can’t recall a specific time where Chester said it.) Anyway - in the headcanon they were friends, although Jacob was a few years older. Chester mostly looked up to him.
Love interests:
Chiara and Jae - I’m usually not part of the majority when it comes to ships, but I think that in this case, many people would share my love for these two together. JC hinted on it many times in the game, when they paired them in the background and I loved it so much that I made it a part of the headcanon. They started dating in year 5 and stayed together ever since.
Penny and Andre - It was brief, but the two dated for a few weeks in their 4th year.
Penny and Talbott - It may change, because it’s a headcanon for their 7th year, but for now - they start dating in their 7th year and stayed together after they graduated.
Jacob and Duncan - They weren’t just best friends, they were genuinely in love.
Crushes:
This list wouldn’t be complete without one-sided crushes, right? Also, Luna has so many that I felt it’s only fair to show the ones that aren’t related to her.
Rowan’s crush on Bill - Okay, okay. It’s the most basic crush and basically (though not officially) confirmed in the game, but I had to include it because it’s the longest crush in the game that stays one-sided. This crush also put Rowan in a very awkward position, since Luna is somewhat romantically involved with Bill, so he had to act like the best friend and support her, even when it hurt him a bit. He told her many times before that he was over him, but he never completely got over it. (Even Ismelda got over Barnaby at some point. Speaking of Ismelda...)
Ismelda’s crush on Barnaby - Yes, this one is confirmed in the canon, but I included it because it’s a bit different in the headcanon. The biggest change that I already mentioned in this post several times - THERE IS NO LOVE POTION. Heard that, JC? My headcanon-Ismelda knows the meaning of consent - and mine is way meaner than the game’s version. Maybe you should refresh your knowledge as well, JC.
Liz’s crush on Rath - It wasn’t long lived, but Liz had a small crush on the Slytherin Beater, in her 4th year.
Penny’s crush on Bill - It’s not as much as a full-crush, more like an interest that came every once in a while, but she never did anything about it because of Luna’s complicated relationship with him.
Andre’s crush on McNully - JC gave us the smallest window to ship these two before they completely ruined it, so I’ve decided to turn this train-wreck into a simple crush. Andre got over it once McNully started to get on his nerves.
Roommates bond:
So, it sounds obvious, but in the game - some characters act like they barely know each other, even ones that supposedly share dorms with them for 7 years. Na-ah, not in the headcanon. So just a quick mention of the special bond that these roommates share:
Tulip, Badeea and Luna.
Rowan, Talbott and Andre.
Penny, Tonks and Chiara.
Merula, Ismelda and Liz. (Although Merula and Ismelda bullied Liz at the beginning, they became more friendly around the 5th year.)
Charlie, Ben and Jae.
I didn’t include the Quidditch characters in this one, because it’s never really stated in which year they all are, and I haven’t decided myself yet for the headcanon.

leah and ollie’s new friendship, featuring mash potatoe! 💛💚
i wrote a short drabble, it’ll be under the cut (i don’t normally write but i felt like it today!! i hope you like it! you’re very sweet and i really loved the comic you did!)
leah belongs to @leah-demarco !
“Mash, where are you?”
Ollie let out an exasperated sigh - he had been searching for his tiny white puffskein since he woke up. Usually, Mash would be in bed to nudge him awake so he could bring the both of them for breakfast in the Great Hall. Today however, the white ball of fluff was nowhere to be found.
Ollie combed the east corridor for the third time to no avail. Just as he was about to give up all hope, he heard a soft yelp come from behind him. Ollie turned at the source of the noise, and there Mash was, in his full glory.
Sitting on top of Leah’s head.
Ollie gaped in horror as the white puffskein tucked itself snugly into Leah’s messy hair, forming a small nest on top on her head.
“Mash! Oh no, Leah, I’m sorry,” the silver-haired boy began as he frantically reached out to grab Mash, only to have the ball of menace hiss angrily in retaliation.
“I don’t know why Mash is like this, normally he doesn’t get close to other people, apart from Talbott and I...” Ollie explained as he gave Leah a sheepish smile.
“Oh, that’s alright, Ollie. I’m honored that Mash thought my head was a good place to make a nest in. You shouldn’t grab a puffskein like that, though, it scares them!” Leah replied with a small smile.
Ollie nodded as he listened seriously to Leah, who was giving him more puffskein tips. Although Leah and him only recently became friends, she was kind, smart and always willing to help others in need, a trait that Ollie greatly admired. Once she was done giving her advice, Ollie couldn’t help but smirk and give a sly grin.
“Wow, all that time you spent with Barnaby made you an expert on care of magical creatures, huh?”
Leah’s face immediately flushed red as she giggled and punched Ollie lightly on the shoulder. “Shhhh! Now, let’s get to the Great Hall for breakfast, shall we? Mash needs his food or else we’ll face his fury and he’ll burn down Hogwarts.”
The pair laughed heartily as they headed towards the Great Hall, chatting about the recent happenings in Hogwarts. Although it was originally a little nerve-wrecking to befriend Leah, Ollie didn’t regret his decision one bit - he knew he would have much more fun moments with his new friend.
