one thing that i’m INCREDIBLY intrigued by is the fact that the Crimson Knights are working against the Venatori.

i don’t even know if it would be accurate to say the red templars were their own faction in inquisition; they were, for the most part, just a tool of the Venatori. the fact that they’re now working against each other could have a few possible explanations:

obviously there would be chaos among the Venatori after the Inquisition eliminated Corypheus and several other high-ranking members. but they’ve been around long before Corypheus returned (as evidenced by Hira’s flashback) and it stands to reason they wouldn’t disappear just because Corypheus was defeated. it is possible that it splintered into factions because of a general lack of leadership, and one of these factions, made up primarily or exclusively by red templars, became the Crimson Knights. they might even be seeking retribution against the Venatori for making them become this way, and rallied around Meredith because she’s the original red templar, free from Venatori influence

the Crimson Knights are made up primarily of templars from Kirkwall. exposure to Meredith’s statue in the Gallows for several years was probably enough to corrupt some people, if not physically then at least to the point of fanaticism. red lyrium trade is suddenly flourishing in certain Carta circles, so it would be easy enough for them to get their hands on some and complete the physical transformation. connection to the Venatori is a little more tenuous here, unless they were also joined by discontents like the above who want revenge for their treatment by the Venatori (or we’re just supposed to believe it’s “ough Tevinter bad” again)

threats on the table: solas (ofc, hes the name of the game), venatori (gotten stronger in power after inquisition apparently? ive frantically been reading wiki pages), red lyrium templars (meredith wants to Wipe Out tevinter.)

this rant got kinda long and im just spitballing so

super scared we’re gonna get the venatori/tevinter vs templars plot treated really similar to the general mage n templar war, “wow inquisitor you chose One Option and now its over congrats! dont think about the consequences or ripple effect of any of these actions it doesnt matter! you just have a different skin on your soldiers!“

solas taking the red templars and using them to cause general chaos? yeah? hes used the venatori for his own means before?? i might just be misremembering what solas actually wants, but tldr its tearing down the veil to bring back old days where spirits n magic was everywhere? red templars seem P Bad for that plan then

also considering that REALLY good post going around about “why tf did divine justinia even make the inquistion in the first place“ “so she could destroy the mages and have the seekers as better templars but everywhere“

LELIANA: destroys circles as a whole, templars would still be around as a form of “security“ and shitty cop sbc i really doubt the chantries everywhere would give them up. theres still demons and possessions and ppl dont let go of the old ways. CONSIDER!!!! you can literally kill leliana in dao. she could be a spirit. shes also in the absolution mission scenes (still think she would do that even as divine but whatever) i really fucking doubt they would choose leliana as biowares canon, bc they hate mages, u can kill her, circles in nevarra are still mentioned in absolution.

CASS: reinvents a new form of circle and templar order. templars still around. she is STILL working for the inquisition tho, so like, i really doubt shes the canon one purely bc of absolution. if they didnt show cass giving those orders i would be less hard about this.

VIVIENNE: hardens up both circles and templars in the old way. oh my god. so many templars everywhere i bet, i forgot specifics its been a really long time but like. it seems like most likely at this point. vivienne is around no matter what, she doesnt care for the inquisition, shes the most “Eh, doesnt matter that much to other character choices“ one around

tldr oh my god if the red templars are actually able to go and infect other templars, and if vivienne is divine, they’re gonna have a huge fucking army and that makes them scary!!! i also hope who is divine changes the number or the tactics of the red templar army in game. but its bioware so prob not alas

Hi! I’m going to use my three first OC’s from each dragon age game bc I have a lot of love for them! Daria Brosca is my quiet (she knows how to speak Common but being around so many humans makes her self-conscious of the way she speaks), sarcastic and cocky, strong 2-handed warrior, and very bisexual dwarven Warden! Then Garrett Hawke is sweet, diplomatic, and friendly and always willing to help others, tho he also is funny and likes to find the humor in most situations; he ofc supports mages bc he’s a mage. Last (but not least) is my inquisitor, Kiilani Cadash who is very loud, humorous, aggressive, and down-to-earth (she is not very good for uh, diplomacy or being in polite, high-society company); she’s also a two-handed warrior and bisexual :’)

5. Your OC’s worst habit?Daria - Being cocky and arrogant and thinking she can handle any fight (after all, she didn’t survive in Dust Town by being nice and talking her way out of fights)Garrett - Trusting other people so easily; it’s gotten him and his friends/family hurt on several occasions.Kiilani - Speaking/acting without thinking first (which is exactly why,,, she should not be taken to grand balls or to diplomatic meetings)

10. Would your OC prefer to live in the city, the suburbs, or the country?Daria - as long as she doesn’t have to live in Dust Town again, she really doesn’t care. She actually would rather not live in Orzammar at all, she’s kinda tired of the way things work around there; however, she also doesn’t want to live in human towns bc she doesn’t feel like she fits in. She’d probably prefer living out in the country (and visiting Alistair as much as possible while he’s on the throne)Garrett - Country. He’s done with the mess that was Kirkwall and Lothering doesn’t feel like home anymore. Him and Fenris are going to live in a little cottage somewhere and avoid problems (well, until the inquisition comes a-calling)Kiilani - Skyhold is home now okay. that’s where she wants to live. It’s not like she had much of a home before the inquisition

15. Something that grosses your OC out?Daria - literally. Darkspawn. they all look so gross and they SMELL. Also, feet gross her outGarrett - spiders, but also ogres :) oh yeah and corpses/dead things :):)Kiilani - Typical dwarven food (deep mushrooms, nugs, cave beetles (also fun fact the dwarven diet page on the wiki is quite interesting)); tbh she’s just a really picky eater. Also, blood, which is ironic considering she’s a reaver

20. A obscure/ridiculous fear your OC has?Daria - rain and thunderstorms: she’s really scared of those things bc they don’t happen in Orzammar. She’s also really scared of how BIG the world is outside of OrzammarGarrett - he’s scared of statues; like even before the final battle with Meredith where she made them come to life he was scared of statues (that just made it worse tbh). Carver once told him when they were children that people/animals/living things were trapped in statues and Garrett used to have nightmares about being turned into a statueKiilani - She’s really scared of birds lmao; she’s always scared that birds are gonna try to like, peck her eyes out or something. It’s always an interesting time when she goes to talk to Leliana in skyhold bc uhh,, birds everywhere (which is why she usually ends up jumping down to Solas instead of taking the stairs – gotta get away FAST)
