Headcanons - Armin Arlert x Reader (Modern AU)

Word Count: 6.7K (sorry it's so long! I just love this boy)

Notes: This was requested by @arminiloveyou - hope you guys enjoy boyfriend!armin as much as I do 💘

Warnings: None - these are mostly SFW and also really fluffy, with just a sprinkle of nsfw content in there......I had to.... i'm sorry (actually no, i'm not 😇)

He's always considered himself to be a fairly easygoing and calm person when it came to being around others, but there's something about you that completely makes him lose his composure

Poor baby was probably a shy, stuttering mess the first couple of times he was around you 🥺

The first time he saw you in class, he swore that time had actually stopped and that an angel had somehow swooped down from heaven and landed in his statistics course

He even looked around at others to gauge their reactions toward the ethereal being who had just walked into the room

But when he saw that everybody was simply going about their business and not internally freaking out like he was, he lowered his head a bit in embarrassment, trying desperately to hide the blush that had crept its way onto his cheeks

He'd be so nervous around you anytime you were near, which honestly, wasn't very like him

He was a friendly guy and conversation had always come naturally to him; he had great people skills and was simply the type to get along with everybody

But when you were in the vicinity, his heart would start to act up and his palms would get sweaty, which was very unlike his normal self

Let me just say, conversation did not come easy to him when he was around you

If you spoke to him, it was as if all words had suddenly vanished from his mind and as a result of that, he often found himself in quite a few awkward situations with you

Poor thing would just stare at you like a deer in headlights, flustered by the pretty smile you had given him while trying desperately to find something (literally, anything) to say to you, but instead failing miserably

Luckily, to avert further disaster, Eren or Mikasa wouldn't be too far behind and would eventually swoop in to save him from himself

He wasn't a total failure it seemed, though, because somehow you didn't shy away from his odd behavior; you kept being kind to him and you kept giving him those pretty smiles he adored so much, persistent as ever in your pursuit of trying to talk to the mess of a boy he considered himself to be

There was this one particular time (which is actually one of his favorite memories of you) where he was sat with his entire group of friends on campus one rather normal afternoon, enjoying each other's company and sharing hearty laughs. Just as Jean and Eren had started bickering over their usual nonsense, Armin had glanced at his phone and realized it was time to bid them adieu and head off to his next lecture

His mind began to wander thinking of you, and more importantly, if he'd see you in class that day (and also what you might be wearing and if you'd sit anywhere near him; he secretly really hoped that you would)

And then suddenly, the next thing he knew, you were calling for him. He swears his heart had actually skipped a beat that day at how gentle your voice was. "Wait, Armin," you had said sweetly, trying to get the blonde's attention. "Can I walk with you to class?" The small smile that had made its way onto your face and the twinkle in your eye as you gazed up at him did wonders to the fluttery feeling inside his chest.

"O-of course," he had slightly slipped up on his words, but nonetheless, they made you happy as your smile widened (causing a light coating of pink to grow on his cheeks)

The way you had called for him that day (and said his name - Oh man, he loved it when you said his name) just sounded so delicate and sweet, he thought about it for a whole week 🥺

Eventually, he would get more comfortable around you and his confidence would slowly start to grow. But you still had an intense hold over the boy, one that often left him a breathless, stuttering mess, and one that evidently would continue to carry on throughout your entire relationship

Which brings us to Armin as your boyfriend... Ok, folks, let's do this... ☺️

He is a very observant man and always seems to keep an eye on you (out of a need to make sure you're okay and because he simply loves looking at you - He can't help it, his gaze just automatically drifts toward you)

He reads you insanely well - You swear sometimes it's like he knows you even better than you know yourself

Can tell by the look in your eye if you're having a bad day, or even by the slightest downward curvature of your mouth if something's upsetting you

The man is finely tuned into you at all times 😌

(He's spent enough time looking at you from afar prior to you two dating, and especially now that he actually is dating you, that he should be able to notice every little change in your expression)

Eren has definitely called him creepy before because of how much he stares at you (You don't mind, though... You think it's kind of cute how he can't seem to keep his eyes off of you 🥰)

Loves getting hugged from behind, it always brings a smile to his face when you wrap your arms around his waist

Not super big on PDA, though; other than holding your hand, he isn't really keen on being too affectionate in public (key word: in public 😏) - When you two are out though, he does seem to always be holding your hand)

His actions are never really that of a possessive man, he respects your autonomy and acknowledges that you don't belong to him - However, with that said, he's only human and still definitely has moments of possessiveness

For instance, if someone is outright flirting with you, he can get really uncomfortable and insecure. Jealousy-filled thoughts will begin to swarm in his head and he'll start to spiral a bit before then reeling himself in, reminding himself that you truly love him and would never do anything to hurt him

Then, the thought of you possibly being uncomfortable toward this strange man's advances would cross his mind, which suddenly brings his body racing toward yours, ready to save you from the unpleasant situation

You always look grateful for his arrival during moments such as these - He won't be aggressive or threatening toward the man, but he will make his presence known in a calm and casual way. He'll place his arm leisurely around your waist and look down at you, a delicate smile appearing on his face solely for the girl held tightly to him, with bright, blue eyes intent on finding out if she was okay or not

He's always able to tell right away if you're fine and don't require any saving, or if he were right to make an assumption and should make an excuse for yours and his exit - If it's the latter, he will gladly be your knight in shining armor and make up some lie about how you two "should probably get going if you don't want to be late for the movie" (or, he'll say you two have a dinner reservation instead if he's feeling spicy and really wants to make it known that you two are an item - All while doing it with a friendly voice and innocent smile 😈)

He will always be there to pull you out of sticky situations 😌

Hates fighting with you more than anything

If you two had a fight, he would insist on approaching the fight as "you and him vs. the problem" as opposed to "you vs. him"

He would always insist you two talk things out and would always preface what he was about to say with, "Please know that I love you. And I want us to figure this out together... So please be patient with me and I will be patient with you, love."

Fights never really last that long between you two though, to be honest, and it's all thanks to him

Would get shy at first asking you to stay over at his place, but would push through it because he loves falling asleep next to you; he definitely is obsessed with holding your body close to his at night while you two sleep

The feeling of your body intertwined with his and your peaceful face resting comfortably against his chest, as you share in each other's warmth, is easily his favorite part of every day

If he's busy (whether it's studying or playing video games with his friends) and you want attention from the cute blonde beside you, literally all you need to do is sit on his lap

His focus will be entirely on you if you do that (and his pale cheeks will turn a nice rosy color as his eyes glance up at you, gleaming as if he were looking at an angel 🥺)

He sometimes gets so sleepy that he falls asleep on your shoulder - Doesn't matter where you are; at home, at parties, or even at school, if he is sleepy, that boy will find you and he will use your shoulder as a pillow

Favorite things to do for dates: (1) Aquarium - one of his favorite places; loves sharing small kisses in the always empty and dimly lit jellyfish room, the mood lighting in there is his favorite and the reflection of purples and blue against your skin always has him reaching over to gently kiss you (2) Picnic - gets to have a private moment with you all to himself; loves seeing you close your eyes and soak up the sunshine, although he swears your smile is more dazzling than the sun could ever hope to be; you once adorned his golden hair with the tiny flowers resting beside your blanket and he nearly wanted to die at the intimate feeling of your hands playing with his hair (3) Museum - this boy loves museums regardless of who he's with, but with you, it's so much more special; will definitely take sneaky pictures of you admiring the art (the background on his phone is actually a picture of you caught off guard, looking back at him while smiling softly during one of these museum dates)

Wanted to give you a necklace with his initial on it, but felt too shy and awkward going through with it

However, he definitely bought a necklace for himself with your initial on it and wears it all the time

(((He loves it when you're on top of him, slowly and passionately rocking your hips against his, and you casually bend down to lightly nip at the delicate chain - It's as if with that one swift motion, you're telling him that he belongs to you)))

Even though he tries not to be very possessive, he loves it when you are - Literally LOVES it when you show other people that he is yours

Will place his cardigan (yes, he totally wears cardigans and no, you can't convince me otherwise) around your shoulders if you're out at night - You don't even have to look cold or anything, he just does it out of habit now (and maybe because he secretly likes the idea of other people seeing you wear his clothes 👀)

Armin also definitely wears turtlenecks, I know it 🤤🤤🤤

He feels things very intensely (hello, water sign!!) and is sensitive, but often doesn't show it since being overly vulnerable and emotional in front of other people can make him a bit uncomfortable (he's a scorpio, what did you expect? - this scorpio boy will always have an air of mystery to him; if he seems one-dimensional to someone, it's only because they don't truly know him)

He's a rather private person and prefers his relationship to be relatively the same way - People definitely know that you two are together, but he doesn't need to oversell it or have people know everything that goes on between you two (unlike some people *cough cough* Eren, who totally would pin you down on the coffee table and makeout with you in front of his friends if you'd let him)

This is why he likes to keep PDA to a minimum, but if you ever leaned in for a kiss, how could he ever deny you?

Kissing you has become one of his greatest joys in life and he'd hate to miss out on one simply because other people were around

Something tells me that he taught himself how to play the guitar (acoustic only)

BUT, it would be a total secret - something he kept to himself as his own special little hobby

You wouldn't even know until showing up at his place one day unannounced

You had a key to his apartment and didn't bother to text beforehand since you were just stopping by to drop off some of his books that you had borrowed

But when you opened his front door, you heard a voice singing softly against the delicate strumming of a guitar

The corners of your mouth turned up into a smile as you recognized your boyfriend's voice among the sweet melodies, waiting just a moment to listen to the calming sound before knocking on the bedroom door that had been left ajar

The poor, startled man looked so cute sitting on the edge of his bed, eyes wide and cheeks turning a soft shade of pink as he held his guitar, his little secret hobby instantly being revealed to you 🥺

He'd be shy at first, but playing for you would soon become a regular thing (since you constantly begged him lmao)

If you were having a bad day or needing something to help you wind down from a hectic shift at work, you would ask him to play something for you, and he would always happily oblige - He'd sit beside you, your mood instantly starting to lift as his soft melodies helped to calm your mind

He always has been and always will be your biggest motivator; he constantly provides support when you need it and pushes you to follow your dreams, always eager to celebrate your successes along the way

"I'll always be here to cheer you on, honey" 🥺🥺🥺

He constantly shares the interesting facts he reads about in his books with you

Just very casually will look up from his book and be like, "Did you know that inside dolphins' pectoral fins, they have bones that look like human hands?"

He thinks it's cool and instantly in his head, he's like 'Y/N needs to know....'

Doesn't really cry too much (he tends to keep a lot of his intense emotions to himself and appear as though he's his normal, happy self, even when he's not), but he definitely cries during movies

Like that one time Grave of the Fireflies was playing in theatres again for its 30th anniversary and you two decided to go see it (big mistake) and poor baby came out of it sniffling, with tear-stained cheeks and the tip of his nose a soft, pink color

He hurriedly had tried to wipe away his tears with the sleeve of his sweater but you had caught his hand and did it for him instead, even placing small kisses against his cheeks where his tears had been

(It was actually that exact moment that he knew he was in love with you - Nothing could have prepared him for the feeling of you comforting and consoling him so sweetly. He nearly fell to his knees receiving such an intimate and caring gesture from you)

He really likes it when you lean into him and place your hands against his chest while kissing him; he loves the feeling of your body being flushed against his as he holds your cheek gently with his palm, deepening the kiss you had initially started

His neck.....is ultra sensitive..... Do with that what you will.... (🤤😈)

Prior to being in a relationship with you, a time in his life where he spent his days yearning and longing from afar, Eren would probably tease Armin nonstop about the crush he had on you

"Is today finally the day you grow some balls and tell Y/N you want her," he'd sarcastically remark, earning him a threatening glare from the blonde boy beside him

"She's right over there, shut up," he'd whisper quietly, just a hint of hostility in his voice as he silently wished for Eren to suddenly lose the ability to speak

"C'mon, dude.... Just go tell her that you're in love with her and that you want her to have your babies, I'm sure it'll be fine," the annoying brunette would snort, trying to hold back his laughter but failing miserably

"Th-that's not true," Armin's eyes would widen as he frantically looked around, making sure nobody heard Eren's words

"Yeah, okay... sure... I know you want her, so don't fuckin' lie," his emphasis on the word 'want' carried a certain insinuation that (even though was true), Armin didn't like and before he knew it, he was slamming his hand on the table and raising his voice

"Shut the fuck up already!" It was loud enough for others to hear and definitely loud enough to get the attention of the exact girl he didn't want looking his way during this conversation

Armin and Eren had both instinctively looked over at you and found that you were already staring with wide eyes. Honestly, you were a little taken aback to hear the soft, demure boy you had come to know had quite the mouth on him

"Sorry, Y/N, we were just talking about Armin's wants and needs," Eren had said casually with a shrug, snapping Armin right out of the trance you had left him in, all the while feeling an embarrassing heat start to rise in his cheeks. Mortified didn't even begin to describe how he had felt in that moment (poor baby couldn't even look you in the eyes for the rest of the day 🥲)

Let's just say, Eren is a menace (we already knew that...) and Armin can definitely get annoyed with his antics from time to time

He has the cutest laugh :( <3 his smile would be so wide and his eyes would get so scrunched up that they nearly close - the sound of his joyous, soft laughter would be so hot cute 🥺

Will lay on his side in bed sometimes and just stare at you in awe

Genuinely can't believe he gets to fall asleep next to an angel like yourself

Whispers the smallest and softest little "I love you" right before you two fall asleep; with his warm, relaxed breaths hitting the skin of your shoulder and his arms resting protectively over your waist, you're easily lulled to sleep

When he's frustrated (usually with something school-related), he does this thing where he lowers his head and rubs his eyes with the palms of his hands, before then raking them through his hair and ruffling up the blonde strands, letting out an annoyed groan in the process

He looks so cute (and hot) when he does this since his hair looks extremely wild and disheveled, and the normal, sweet smile that usually adorns his face has since been replaced with a grumpy pout and a clenched jaw

Speaking of grumpy Armin - You call him Mr. Grumpers when he's in a mood (which isn't that often, but is certainly always entertaining)

If he's pouting about something or his normal soft eyes have twisted into a disapproving side eye, you'll playfully exclaim, "Is somebody Mr. Grumpers today?"

He'll just narrow his eyes more intensely at you while shyly (and bitterly) muttering out a little, "no"

Give him a kiss (or several) and he'll start to perk up, though - His mood doesn't totally go away, but he does get less grumpy and instead becomes more needy; holding tightly on to your waist while asking for more and more kisses

When you're the one who's being grumpy, he think's it. is. so. CUTE.

His heart absolutely melts at the sight of you with a childish pout and furrowed eyebrows, grumbling to him as he tries to have a conversation with you

It's secretly one of his favorite things (He'd never tell you just how much he loves it when you're like that, though, because he thinks you'd take it the wrong way - He just thinks you're so cute when you're grumpy and can't help but swoon at the sight of you like that... Like, this is literally him -> 🥺🥺🥺)

When he wakes up, he does this thing where he scrunches up his nose and shuts his eyes tightly as if to block out any morning light that threatens the perfect sleep he was getting. He'll even place an arm over his eyes, trying to stop the little sunlight that filters through the curtains, before then reaching out to you with his other arm. He'll turn to you, with eyes still closed, and smile lazily at the feeling of you being right there beside him

"G'morning," he'll say quietly in an unnaturally raspy voice as he laces his arm around you, bringing your warm body closer to his

Sometimes leans down to absentmindedly leave a trail of light kisses against your neck and shoulder when he's in this sleepy state (if you so much as whimper or make any such noise alluding to how much you are enjoying the feeling of his lips on you, he'll smile against your skin as the hold around your waist instinctively tightens)

Firm believer in "If you don't treat your partner like they're special, then somebody else will", which is why he puts a lot of effort and care into his relationship with you

Genuinely loves you and wants to be in your life for as long as you'll have him, so he'll do everything in his power to show you just how much you mean to him

(((One of his absolute favorite things to do with you is to makeout on the couch for what feels like hours (and sometimes is) - Like, slowly rubbing up against each other while hands gently explore the other's body; him sucking on your tongue and you biting his lip; lazy, passionate kisses being shared between you two with no end in sight - It quite literally is heaven to him 😌)))

(((He looks so sweet afterward, too - His hair is always messed up from your hands running through it and his lips are always deliciously plump from all the attention you had given them. The flustered man's cheeks will be flushed and the tips of his ears will be a soft pink color, all the while his eyes will have this glazed over, glossy look to them. And his smile, oh man, his smile... The blissful, almost-euphoric smile he gives you could only be described as that of a man beyond grateful to have you sitting on his lap like this and kissing him like that

If you ever need help with anything, he is your guy !!! He would literally drop everything that he's doing to come help you with whatever you need

You need help studying? He's there quizzing you on what's going to be on your final; One of your headlights went out? He's not very good with cars, but he's looking up videos online on how to fix it; You need advice on a tricky situation at work? He's listening to your every word and then offering several solutions

He is just always happy to help you in any way that he can - He likes knowing that you feel you can depend on him and that you go to him when you need help

Give him a compliment and he'll think about it all week <3

Something as simple as "you look so handsome today, baby" will have him like 🥺🥺🥺 - He'll be so ridiculously soft and stupid for the remainder of that day; you can definitely expect a cute blonde man to give you several kisses after you compliment him

I feel like this boy.......would always be cold......

Something about him just tells me that he would be a Cold Boy™ and always wears extra layers, hence why he wears a lot of turtlenecks and sweaters (pls he's so cute 🥺)

When he's with you in his or your apartment, he'll always cuddle up to you - You know it's because he loves feeling you close to him, but also because he's just cold and needs the extra warmth

You tease him about it all the time, too, which makes him groan (always with a smile, though 😇)

"Trying to steal my warmth again, are we?" You'd question playfully, watching him curl up beside you on the couch

"Shall I go steal someone else's warmth?" He'd retaliate, his boyish grin widening before leaning in to place a quick peck on your cheek

"No," you'd pout, earning a soft chuckle from the boy beside you. "You're only allowed to steal my warmth," you'd exaggerate the sadness in your voice while faking a frown

"Okay, deal," he'd whisper back softly, leaning in once again to your warm body, this time placing a gentle kiss to your lips, his heart fluttering at the feeling of your pout turning into a smile

He's the type to absentmindedly rub your back while giving you a hug

Before you two were dating and when you were still only friends, he would always shyly offer to carry your books for you while you two walked to class

He still does it now, but instead of asking with a shy smile, he'll just hold out his hands, silently telling you to hand them over - He'll take them in his one arm and then reach for your hand with his other, gently lacing his fingers through yours as you two walk to class

As mentioned before, he is naturally good at carrying a conversation

If he's ever around other people and there's an awkward silence, he will always chime in and bring everyone's attention toward a new topic

(You secretly think it's kind of hot how he'll just take charge of the situation and save everyone from even more awkwardness)

Loves cats and is always setting out dry food for the neighborhood cats

You had to talk to him about this, because even though it's sweet, he suddenly had like 15 cats hanging around his apartment and his neighbors were like.....what the hell is going on...

But when he sees a cat while he's out, he'll always bend down and mutter a small "pspspsp" to get its attention, hoping it'll come up to him so he can pet it

Definitely plays animal crossing (this was actually one of your first "dates" - You two visited each other's islands and it was so cute 🥺)

Such a gentleman - Very chivalrous, not in a gross 'I'm being nice to you so you owe me' type of way, but in a genuine, sweet type of way

It just comes naturally to him; even toward strangers, he's the type of guy to hold the door open for other people and get things off of shelves for strangers in stores if they can't reach... He's just naturally kind and always happy to lend a helping hand

But with you, he is extra sweet - Always opening doors for you, complimenting you, walking you to your front door (when dropping you off at your place), pushing your chair in at restaurants, listening to you, never keeping you waiting, and just overall, always doting on you and adoring you

Like, this is actually Armin:

He probably was on the swim team in high school, which is why his body is so naturally lean and toned

Like the guy probably doesn't even work out that much now, but somehow still has ridiculously toned abs and you're like ????

He finds it really adorable when you gush over his abs, though - He loves being reminded of how attractive you think he is (pls always give him compliments, they make him so happy 🥲)

Constantly doting on you in the privacy of yours or his apartment (rubbing your back absentmindedly with his hand, moving your hair out of your eyes, placing soft kisses on your cheek, hugging your body close to his, etc.)

The type to give you really sentimental gifts on anniversaries - He'd usually put a lot of effort into them and would be a combination of giddy/nervous for you to open them, hoping more than anything that he just did a good job conveying how much he loves you in one small present

Probably drinks iced matcha lattes <3 idk why that visual is so cute to me

Definitely would love washing your hair for you in the shower - He'd find it so intimate and would feel pride in being able to take care of you, even in a small way such as this

Likes giving you kisses on your nose - He feels your cute as a button (something he tells you quite often) and sometimes can't help the urge to give you a little peck on the tip of your nose

He is a Soft Boy™ through and though, but he will also not let people walk all over him or those he cares about

If somebody is being rude, he will always speak up - Even if somebody is twice his size 🥴 (He'll never be aggressive, but he will make it known that what this person did was not okay)

Uses a ticket stub from a concert you two went to as his bookmark

Has always wanted to be in the kind of relationship where you two dance together in the kitchen while cooking...but...he doesn't cook that often and neither do you, so he just secretly keeps that fantasy to himself (he thinks it's such a sweet idea and honestly can't handle the domesticity and intimacy of it)

He'll even try forcing it sometimes by making a show out of trying a new recipe and asking for your help in the kitchen, while slyly putting some soft music on in the background

He's always a bit too shy to outright ask you to dance with him, since he feels it's a bit of an odd request, but he silently hopes it'll naturally happen every time you two cook together

However, his wish finally came true one night during one of his 'dancing missions'... He had noticed you from the corner of his eye start to sway your hips to the music as you stirred the pot in front of you, and he saw it as his opportunity. Somehow, he found the courage to come up behind you and place his arms gently around your waist, delicately swaying you both to the soft melodies playing throughout the warm kitchen

No words had to be said - You both felt the calm love you had for the other, as scents of garlic and basil filled the room and soft music played all around you, your bodies finding a sweet and soothing rhythm together

Since then, he's more courageous when it comes to taking you in his arms and moving your body with his to the soft sounds that play throughout the kitchen (which is actually a specially curated playlist made just for you, but shhh, he doesn't want you to know that)

The type to place blankets over you if you fall asleep - Doesn't even matter if you look cold or not; if you fall asleep anywhere near him, he is putting a blanket over you

When you have cold hands, he does that thing where he rubs his hands together, making them warm for you, before placing them around your smaller ones and bringing them close to his mouth where he breathes warm air onto them (His hands are probably just as cold, so it's a win-win for him)

Thinks it's really cute when you reach up to move the small strands of blonde hair that fell in front of his eyes - Always brings a content smile to his face watching you do this

One year, he dresses up as milo thatch from the movie atlantis for Halloween

AND HE LOOKS SO CUTE <3

The round glasses look so cute on him that you try to convince him to wear glasses all the time

And he would just laugh sweetly at you gushing over him, before saying, "Honey, there's nothing wrong with my eyes, though... I can't just start wearing glasses"

(Him in the tank top is also 🤤🤤🤤 His toned muscles, that he barely ever shows off, would have you biting your lip the whole night. GOD - He'd be so confused as to why you were suddenly dragging him to an empty room in the house of the halloween party you two were at. He'd only realize your intentions the moment you shut the bedroom door behind you and push him up against the wall, placing eager, needy kisses all over his neck)

He'd look like this... whew

Pet names he uses for you include: Honey, hun, baby, angel, love, and sweetheart

Honey is his go-to and what he uses most often - He figured it was perfect for you since you're always so sweet (corny much, Armin 🙄)

He likes it most when you call him 'babe' - It's intimate, yet casual, and anytime you use it, it feels like you're calling him home (He swears to himself that he never wants to hear anybody else ever call him that but you; he knows nobody will ever say it as sweetly as you do)

If he's ever resting his head on your stomach, he'll lift up your shirt slightly and place a kiss there; he loves the feeling of your soft tummy against his lips <3

If he's ever forced to go out drinking with the boys (which of course he is, Eren's his bestfriend 🙄), you can expect some drunk texts coming your way

And when he finally comes home, he'd be such a lovestruck, needy mess of a man

"I love you sooo much," he'd slightly slur his words, smiling at you with a pleased look on his face. "How did I get so lucky...?" he'd mutter to himself, looking down at his hands. "These h-hands," he'd stutter while turning them around, looking them over, "get to hold your hands." And he would just look up like 🥺🥺🥺

And you would just laugh at your sweet, drunken boyfriend's nonsense while placing a glass of water in his hand

"Water, right... You're so smart, angel," he'd take a big sip, some of it spilling down his chin. "So smart and so cute," the little smile that appeared on his face would quickly turn into a smirk as he looks you over. "You're really pretty, you know...?" his voice slurring while his eyes look you up and down

Because of course he would also get horny when he's drunk, of course he would... he could also be a bit of a brat 😒

If you didn't give him any attention or weren't as affectionate with him while he was drunk, he'd pout and yank on the loops of your jeans, literally forcing you to pay attention to him

(He obviously would never really act this way sober, but with his inhibitions being lowered, that meant that you could expect the alcohol to intensify the sweet, sassy, and horny aspects of your boyfriend)

He'd always make it a point to dress nice for you if you two went out to dinner

There was still a part of him that desperately wanted to impress you, and an even smaller part that was afraid you'd wake up one day and realize he's not good enough for you

(That would never happen, though - You absolutely adore this man, how could you not 🥲)

But on date nights, he'd ask what you were wearing and would try to color coordinate with a nice button down, nervously patting his hair down in the mirror to make sure it wasn't messy, before then leaving to go pick you up

He'd always greet you at your door with a warm smile and a small kiss on the cheek, before finally letting himself take in your appearance

He would often stare back at you with wide eyes, scratching at the back of his neck and swallowing dryly; the magnificent sight before him would cause the blood in his body to rush and before he could embarrass himself further by looking like a complete and total dumbstruck idiot (something he told himself, not you), he'd give you one more smile and with kind eyes, shyly mutter that you looked beautiful

And, oh man, did he mean it - The man would be showering you with complements left and right all night; like he literally could not comprehend HOW he had managed to convince you to be his girlfriend

When on dinner dates, he would always smile warmly at you from the other side of the table, graciously taking your hand that was outstretched to him

Even though he often looks at you with soft eyes, sometimes the knowing look in his piercing, blue eyes is so intense that you can't help but feel vulnerable under his stare; it's always such an intimate feeling and leaves you breathless every time to simply be seen by him

Because he's not just looking at you and thinking about how pretty you are, he's thinking about the actual person behind the good looks; he's thinking about how trusting you are with him, how sweet and gentle you've always been, and about all of the endearing and unique qualities that make you you. But, most importantly, he's thinking about how lucky he is to know every little part of you and how he wishes only for the chance to know every future version of yourself as you move throughout your life

Armin has always seen you for who you are and has loved you endlessly; for all of the flaws you claim to have, he swears he's never seen someone so beautiful and for all of the hardships you may endure in life, he only wishes to be right beside you during them

He loves you exactly as you are; his lover, his best friend, his dancing partner, and in the simplest of terms, the girl who had stopped his entire world that one mundane afternoon as she sauntered into his class, all the while changing his life for the better

As much as he didn't care for that class or that he was having just another boring day, that exact day will forever be etched into his memories; a day he'll always be grateful for

Truth be told, he sometimes still feels like he's looking around helplessly as he did in class that day, trying to figure out how on earth this magnificent angel had dropped into his life and why you had decided to stay

But when it comes down to it, he doesn't question it too much because honestly, he wants all of the mundane afternoons with you

He wants the lazy mornings and passionate nights, all of the countless hours watching tv on the couch and the comfortable silence that fills your apartment as you two eat breakfast together; he wants dancing in the kitchen and kisses at the aquarium, he wants all of it - He swears an ordinary, boring life shared with you would be nothing but extraordinary

And part of him thinks that he's a selfish man to want everything and more with you, that he could never be enough for somebody as perfect as you. But as you place another warm, gentle kiss to his cheek and give him one of those pretty smiles he's always adored, all of his self-deprecating thoughts suddenly fade away as he's softly reminded that all you've ever wanted was exactly the same
