-->Oooh, Smiler came so close to completing their party-bot without being zapped! But the damn game hit them with electrocution like a quarter of the way from the end, so I sent them out to gather the eggs and make sure the coop was clean while waiting out the “Dazed” moodlet. Alice also helped out with the chores, scavenging parts from and cleaning up the trash piles around the wind turbines from the guests’ attempts to help repair them before Victor came in with his Repairio skills. Can’t let them fester and grow trash plants! (Well, I suppose we COULD, but that’s not one of the plants I’d like Victor to start growing, so. . .)
-->Around this time, I noticed Smiler was looking a bit thirsty, so I decided to send them in to chat with Victor in the greenhouse and get a drink while Victor finished up in there. Victor IS their favorite flavor of plasma, after all. :) And they gave him a thank-you massage right afterward. Only right! (Still wish I could get some consensual brainwarp things going on again, though. . .)
-->After making sure everything in the greenhouse was sorted (so many plants to evolve!), everyone headed inside -- Victor and Alice to share a nice lunch together with some flirty vibes, and Smiler to record their very first video at their media production station! Beauty tips were in when they studied the trends, so they did a video on their own personal style. You have to admit it’s unique! XD But yes, everyone was having quite a lovely afternoon --
-->But uh-oh, who is that at the door? He looks very official indeed. . .

-->And with that, it was Grand Breakfast Time! ...okay, more accurately, it was Leftover Grand Breakfast Time, as I still had some just-still-good Grand Breakfast from Harvestfest. And also it was more Leftover Grand BRUNCH because they ate at 1 PM in the afternoon. But hey, all that the game requires to fulfill this tradition is that a Sim EATS a grand meal, sooo... XD
Anyway -- Grand Breakfast! Alice called everyone to eat up these leftovers before they went bad, and everyone grabbed a plate. Including Smiler, who took their usual bite before I was able to get them to stop because, well, I guess they always feel like they should TRY the food despite their Withered Stomach. *pats them* At any rate, I was able to have them join in by drinking a plasma fruit at the table, and everyone had a lovely time sharing the holiday spirit and complimenting each other and whatnot. Smiler even brought Kelly in on the fun by bringing her in for a big old hug near the end of the meal! How adorable, right? :)
-->And then, just as everyone was wrapping up and Victor was being entertained by the kittens, I looked over and saw Kelly nomming on the now-very-spoiled Grand Breakfast leftovers. XD Yeah, uh, both Victor AND Alice came in quick with a "hey, don't eat that!" lecture for her. Victor's didn't seem to have much effect, but Alice must have taken a sterner tone, as Kelly stopped after that. I'm not TOTALLY against Sim pets occasionally getting human food, but I'm PRETTY sure spoiled pancakes are not good for a Sim kitty tummy, any more than they're good for a Sim human's!
-->With the cat removed from the stinky leftovers, I decided that the trio should have some fun in the snow -- after all, if the game is going to give us a white Winterfest, we might as well take advantage of it! So once the dishes from the meal were all cleaned up, everyone went outside to make snow pals! Smiler made a fancy man with a monocle; Alice went very traditional with a cute bobble hat and carrot nose; and Victor decided to go punk with a two-ball pal sporting an icicle mohawk and shades. Perhaps they're the rebellious teenager of the family. XD But everyone had a lovely time making their snow pals, and I was very pleased with the results. So far, this Winterfest was going great! :D

-->With the trash sorted and Smiler having grabbed their share of the greenhouse produce, it was time to take care of the rest of the farm chores:
Smiler went and took care of the chickens -- spreading feed, collecting eggs (5 normal ones, hooray!), chatting to a couple of them to keep attention good, the usual -- then joined Victor in the greenhouse to brew up a fresh Sadness Alleviation Lotion. Once that was done, they took Victor's spotted heart frog and tried to breed it with their regular dirt frog to get a spotted dirt frog (both so Victor could use it in potion-brewing and so they could add one to their own collection) -- however, the first attempt only resulted in another dirt frog, so that got turned into a plasma pack. Just have to try again later! They also put out the living room fireplace, because, uh, we don't want a fireplace just randomly burning in this house. I don't think Alice would approve.
Alice, for her part, was put on cow duty -- refilling Moory's feed, cleaning her off, and telling her a joke before milking her. I'm not sure how well the joke went down, judging from Moory's expression in the screenshot, but, uh, Alice tried! And Moory didn't kick over the milk pail when she was milked, so that's something. Alice also emptied out the outside litter box because that was looking NASTY -- I guess having three cats means it DOES fill up quicker! I should upgrade the litter boxes to the zappy kind at this point, they have the cash for it...
And Victor, of course, was banished to the greenhouse to harvest all the remaining produce and tend the plants. XD However, today he actually got a little help -- not only were the bots out and assisting with the watering, weeding, and spraying for bugs, I had Alice and Smiler join him to do the same once they were done with their own chores. The more hands on deck, the better! :D They got everything sorted in good time, and Alice even got the honor of planting the one new plant they'd gotten from all those seed packets the gnomes left around -- a bell pepper! So now they have peppers to offer for sale along with all their other various veggies, fruits, and flowers. :) There was even a little time for flirting and chatting as they finished up -- which I'm sure the trio appreciated, as I have been working them HARD lately.
-->On my end, once all the produce was actually harvested, I went back into Build Mode and started moving around all gnomes that had wandered during Harvestfest -- I sold the duplicates, then put the three "normal" gnomes and the one alien gnome in the four corners of the greenhouse, the pool floatie gnome in the wheelbarrow out front, and the Grim gnome next to Toothy the cowplant. You know, as a warning. Still no sign of my old bunny gnome, though -- I think the game may have deleted it while trying to move it out of its wheelbarrow home. *grumbles* Ah well -- maybe I'll get a new one during a future Harvestfest!
-->Oh, and before the gang finished up and headed out to the store, I had to get this one last picture of the kittens being cute by the scratching post. :D Look at how teeny they are! So adorable~

Okay -- with that sorted, we are into the update proper! Let's see how my favorite trio celebrated Egg Day:
-->First things first -- someone had to plant the new items that I’d dropped into the planters! And as Smiler was the one who was both closest and awake (making more mechanisms and computer chips, as they do), they got the job – AFTER they took a moment to try and stop Shock from drinking one of Shadow’s pee puddles right outside the barn doors. Surprise hasn’t quite gotten the message, but at least they stopped drinking that particular puddle? *shakehead* Anyway, Smiler got everything planted and did some watering and weeding – and while the plants haven’t INSTA-grown, like they did the last couple of times I planted something (one of the mods I use to stop things reverting to dirt piles also sometimes made plants grow super-fast), they’re still growing at a pretty decent rate. Soon we’ll have coconuts, pineapples, black beans, soybeans, noxious elderberries, and poison fireleaf to add to our stores of stuff! :D
-->While that was happening, Victor ended up getting up super-early because he was hungry and craved leftover meatballs. I allowed him to have his early breakfast, then sent him outside to try and appease a wandering specter with a jar of lovely honey. The specter wasn’t appreciative of his gift, though, and Victor ended up having to not only avoid the specter, but calm down Surprise when, having recently been called back home from her nocturnal wanderings, she took offense to the specter’s presence. *sigh* Why do specters have to be so hard to appease sometimes...
-->Alice woke up shortly thereafter, and after taking a moment to brush up on her vampire lore (as she’s trying to get two more skills up to 8 to fulfill an aspiration milestone on Renaissance Sim as her New Year's resolution, and that’s an easy skill to level), she had a hankering to go play ping-pong with Victor! Normally I cancel out these interactions (as my Sims are low-key obsessed with the ping-pong table), but this time I was like “Hell with it, go have a game, I’ve got nothing better for you to do.”
And so they did (once Victor was done being stuck at the top of the stairs into the party barn area for some reason)! With Smiler joining them to practice their bar tricks in the background (they've certainly gotten bottle stacking down!). Alice took an early lead at the start, but Victor rallied back after the midpoint, and managed to take the win. I had Alice give Victor a suave victory kiss and a hug after that – and a hand-hold after she got a Want for it. :) They’re so cute~
-->With that done, it was officially time to start both Egg Day and the usual morning chores! Victor Transportalated himself down into the greenhouse to tend the various plants (fulfilling the “Gardening” tradition of the holiday along the way) and check on his bees, while Alice let out a somber howl to keep the Fury in check and did a little egg hunting in the couch (getting a yellow-and-blue-striped decorative egg) before going downstairs to clean off a dirty Moory. Smiler, as usual, flew down to check on the chickens, spreading a little feed for the chicks and telling a few jokes (getting up to Comedy level 8 in the process, nice). Typical Valicer farmhouse stuff!

-->So, obviously, we had to continue the fun by decorating the Winterfest tree! And here, I discovered that I could get everyone working on the tree at the same time if two Sims worked on one decoration element, and the third Sim worked on another! :D So, Alice and Smiler took care of the tree skirt (red and gold) while Victor did the garland (blue and white), then Victor and Smiler put up the ornaments (white and gold) while Alice did the topper (red and gold modern). The end result was – well, it’s not what I would have picked for my tree, but it was nice enough. XD Eclectic kinda suits this trio anyway! Along the way, they shared some more cute moments -- in particular, I made sure Smiler and Victor got in a mistletoe kiss together while Alice finished off the topper. <3 Kinda wish there was actual hangable mistletoe in the game, but the Sim-to-Sim interaction does the job. At any rate, everyone was feeling very festive after the tree was completed, and I was like "you know what, let's officially turn on the lights on the tree for a change!" So I had Alice whip out the remote and do that --
And didn't see any lights. Puzzled, I tried to have Victor and Smiler light it, but they kept acting like they couldn't get to the tree for some reason --
-->And THAT is when I got the notice about THE FUCKING TREE BEING ON FIRE. Yeah. Smiler and Alice fled outside in a panic while I desperately tried to have Victor bust out the Chillio -- he EVENTUALLY got it to work, but by the point the fire went out, both the tree AND the hallway rug had been consumed by the flames! O.O So, uh, yeah. Maybe -- maybe DON'T light your Winterfest trees. I had Victor magically clean up the ash piles, then decided "you know what, present pile will be safer" and bought one of those for the gang. I mean, just because their tree went up in smoke doesn't mean they shouldn't get presents. Hell, I would argue they need them more than EVER after that incident!

Welcome -- to the Not-So-Micro Wedding Chapel! :D This is my own personal update of the "Micro Wedding" lot by TrimbleTwist on the Gallery -- that lot is a cute little chapel built to be placed on one of the smallest lots in the game (the 20x15 lot size), but as I plopped this one down in place of the rather larger rental lot in the Bramblewood in Henford-On-Bagley, I decided I could expand it out a little bit. :p Specifically, I made the outdoor patio reception area a lot bigger, adding in a proper buffet table and a fancier table for the cake, more tables for guests to sit at (with color schemes at least somewhat appropriate for a Van Alton wedding -- gotta have our black, yellow, and purple!), a dance floor, a fancier piano (that's actually the one you normally unlock through completing the "Musician" branch of the Entertainer career), a few more plants edging the whole thing, and a "photo op" area with backdrop and tripod (keep that in mind for later). I also updated the lot traits -- I kept Natural Light, as that went well with the photo area, but Homey became Romantic Aura and Great Acoustics to Party Place as I felt those better suited a wedding venue specifically. I mean, you're not coming here to do anything but have a wedding party, right? I didn't actually do much to the chapel itself, though, beyond recoloring the wedding arch inside, adding a few more lights to the interior --
And adding the True Colors Pride Flags by @itsonlythee-sims to the outside! This is an edit of a flag mesh from Discover University made base game compatible that features a bunch of pride flag variations (plus one Simlish BLM flag), and one of the ones included is a polyamory flag (the classic blue-black-red stripes with a yellow infinity heart). Given that what I was hosting was a polyam wedding, I had to stick that out there -- along with the "Progress" pride flag, as that felt like it covered most things queer. :) So yes, this was the lovely venue that Victor, Alice, and Smiler arrived at to have their big wedding event! I promptly sent them downstairs into the tiny basement to use its kitchen to make the wedding cake (a white and black cake, because fancy) as a group, as I thought that would be sweet --
And -- okay. Let's just get this bit out of the way now -- it took me three tries to get the wedding to go off the way I wanted it to. First time, they wouldn't even start making the cake -- there was just a lot of that Sim "okay, let's just stand around because something is stopping our AI from actually completing a queued task" bullshit that we all know and "love." Second time, they actually got through the cake and got to the ceremonies -- but while I got some halfway decent shots of Victor and Alice's vow renewal, Alice actually walked out of Victor and Smiler's wedding because for some reason the game decided that "attending the wedding" meant she had to go OUTSIDE, and that and an ill-timed "hey, should Alice officially Like Photography" pop-up meant that I missed capturing most of their ceremony both in in-game pictures and screenshots. *sigh* It's really fortunate that I saved the minute the trio stepped onto the lot, because otherwise...
All right, let's not worry about that anymore -- let's talk about the third attempt, which was indeed the charm, I'm happy to report! (Mostly because I'd learned from the mistakes of the previous two attempts.) As indicated, I sent the trio downstairs to work on the wedding cake together (Alice leading the group action because she has the most points in Cooking), and happily with me having already gotten all the items that could possibly restrict a Sim from helping off the counters, the trio WERE able to collaborate properly on their cake. And get real fancy about it too, as you can see :) Between getting them down there and actually starting off the process, though, the guests started arriving before they were actually done -- said guests being Clement Frost, Angela and Lilith Pleasant, Nalani Mahi'ai, Felipe Sisson, Rory Oaklow, and Angela and Lilith Pleasant! AKA all of Smiler's friends that Victor and Alice also know and are friendly with. XD The guests began filtering downstairs in search of their hosts as the cake was completed -- I quickly had Alice stick the wedding topper on it so no one could sneak an early piece, then let her get in a bathroom break as Victor used magic to fix the busted fridge (I dunno why getting cake ingredients out of it broke it, but it did) and Smiler sucked down a plasma fruit to prevent any Thirst issues. I then turned autonomy off temporarily to stop at least my own Sims from doing too many "forbidden activities," changed my trio into their wedding outfits, added as many guests to their group as I could, and marched them all upstairs to sit in the wedding chapel so at least a few of the guests would be in position to actually watch the ceremonies. And then it was just a matter of getting Victor and Alice into position at the altar, and Smiler into position (with Alice's super-nice camera in their inventory) to act as cameraperson...

It’s Spring Thursday in the Chill Valicer Save, and I have another longer update for you! Mostly because this one took a couple of play sessions to get through, what with me hopping into Build/Buy Mode a couple of times to make improvements to the Valicer Farm and the Van Liddelton Groceries store. Let’s start with what was going on with the home lot first --
I. While I still haven’t figure out precisely what I want to do with the extra space in Victor’s greenhouse yet, I did at least find some cute decor to add to the “crafting wall” thanks to the old Cottage Garden Fan Stuff pack! :) Victor now has a pretty little potting bench, with pots and seeds, a book for research, and a plant being prepped for repotting. It’s just a little thing to make the greenhouse look more greenhousey. :)
II. I moved the wind farm from behind the barn to the side of the lot by the path! There was plenty of open space there to work with, and arranging all our various ground-based wind turbines freed up the space behind the barn for other stuff. Plus it actually allowed me to add one more wind turbine to the lot, which should hopefully help more with power production. The water collectors got moved too, to the other side of the path up against the house -- it felt like a logical place for them. Plus it’ll make it easier to maintain all this stuff -- yes, the gang all have various teleports, but it’s nicer when you don’t have to go all the way to the back of the lot, right?
III. I actually moved the entire barn up a couple of tiles and created a new cow paddock! Yes, now that they have a grocery store, I figured they should try again to get some large livestock, and I figured a cow would be the smartest option so they could offer eggs AND milk. And the best place to put the little shed, and thus the paddock, seemed to be the back of the barn, so -- yeah! I threw in a few fun decorations just to liven the place up (like a Patchy, and a Cottage Garden Fan Pack water fountain that looked a bit like a watering trough), and moved the chicken coop’s enclosure over to intersect with it (so the chickens can visit the cow if they so desire). Took a little fiddling to get just right, but I’m pretty happy with the results! Now they just need the actual cow. . .
IV. And in general yard clean-up, I moved the tree that was previously sitting in the middle of the back boarder of the lot over by the new back porch to help fill in some of that empty space, did a little terrain painting and rearranged the rocks on the path a bit, and put some nice flower bushes along the sides of the path to the front porch. Just a few things to give the yard more interest and cover up some weird blank spots!
V. Oh, and this doesn’t have anything to do with me fiddling in Build/Buy, but you’ll notice that the insect terrariums look a lot different -- that’s because I downloaded some of @brazenlotus‘s mods, and the Core Mod actually changes their look. Had to make sure that it didn’t conflict with All Bugged Out by Lot51, but I do kinda like the jar style!
Whew! Lot to do, but I’m pretty happy with the results. :) Shame they really only have one strip of open backyard left, but eh -- sacrifices must be made! And as for actual GAMEPLAY. . .
-->Alice got up early and, after an adorable interaction with Shadow (seriously, look at that, how cute), transformed into her werewolf form to go out on a hunt! Always a good way to get both a meal and some nice werewolf XP, I’ve found. :) And I made sure to take a quick dip into CAS first and make sure she had her tail on ALL of her werewolf “outfits” so it didn’t randomly disappear on me. XD
-->Smiler, meanwhile, took advantage of a burst of power to play a little Sims Forever (as chaotic as the original), before getting a notice that one of the hatchable eggs in the coop was ready! (Well, okay, SHADOW got the notice, but as the DOG can’t help hatch any eggs. . .) So they flew down and hatched the latest chick -- another rooster! Which, uh, means that we won’t be keeping this one, as we don’t really need a third one. I PROBABLY won’t trade it for meat? Maybe? We’ll see. :p
