Barrage of Bindwel products for Kenya's largest book printer
Tumblr media
Nairobi-headquartered Icons Printers, one of Kenya's largest book printing companies, is headed by Milo Narayan Mishra, known as a print industry icon of the African continent. For its post-press requirements, the printer has tied up with Mumbai-based Bindwel – installing seven offline machines, including four Freedom 4K 12 clamp offline binders, Trimit trimmers, and a full-fledged inline solution, the Bindline 5K.
Known for establishing India’s largest manufacturer of web offset machines, Manugraph, in the African market, Milo Mishra later ventured into providing printing services. Based in the Kenyan capital, Mishra leads his group through two daughter companies – Icons Printers Ltd and Prints Arts Ltd. Collectively, they are one of the largest book printing companies in East Africa.
Multiple web offset machines of varying cut-offs – from Manugraph and SigMarq – form the pillars of his printing business. The covers are printed using 4 color sheet feds from Komori. The company has a Horizon Offline 12 station gatherer, and a battery of sewing machines from Muller Martini and Meccanotecnica, the makers of Aster. The group also has a dedicated plant to make corrugated boxes needed to ship books.
Milo Mishra has personally overseen the procurement of machines from Bindwel as technology is the forte of this printing technologist who donned the hat of an engineer and sales head before venturing into print production. He says he is more at home with Indian machines compared to European products.
The Bindline supplied to the integrated book printer in Nairobi has a 16-station Signa Gatherer, and can run offline or as inline.
“For perfect binding, we have been a consistent partner for the Icons group. They are happy with our machines and service and helped us at times by agreeing to longer delivery schedules. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is something to learn from and we have always done our best to support them,” says Mayur Bharate, who heads exports for Bindwel.
Most of the books made by Icon Printers are thread-sewn. The printer uses the Bindwel BBF5K book block feeder to feed them into the Freedom 5K perfect binder and a long conveyor to be fed into a Trimit 30C three-knife trimmer.
The complete line was installed with operational support from the Bindwel team led by Rijo Pappachan, a senior engineer with Bindwel, around the end of 2023. The first level of support is provided by Bindwel's team based in Dubai and Nairobi.
The books printed by the Icons- Prints Arts group are mainly for the educational segment, covering both the government and private sectors in East Africa. Kenya is one of the rare countries in Africa that has achieved self-sufficiency in printing books for domestic consumption, and business leaders such as Milo Mishra have a key role to play in this growth.
Bindwel has made steady progress in exports, supplying its products to customers overseas. Recently, Tigran Mets, one of the largest and oldest printing houses in Armenia, selected Bindwel’s Trimit30C as its latest three-knife trimmer, making it one of the newest customers from outside India to choose this technology. This decision follows its installation of the Freedom 4.5K 12 clamp perfect binder in 2023 for the production of educational books.

On the whole, MISSION RANIGANJ makes an impact due to the subject
Tumblr media
Mission Raniganj Review {3.5/5} & Review Rating
MISSION RANIGANJ is the story of a man trying to rescue miners against all odds. The year is 1989. Jaswant Singh Gill (Akshay Kumar) is a rescue officer and is based in Raniganj, West Bengal. On November 11, hundreds of miners descend into the mine of Mahabir Coillery at night. An underground blast goes wrong and water starts gushing with powerful force. The miners attempt to escape. Several of them safely make it to the ground. But a group of 65 miners get stuck. The next morning, Jaswant volunteers to rescue the miners. D Sen (Dibyendu Bhattacharya), who is a local contact, however, attempts to take over the rescue operation. He comes up with a plan and tries to save the miners. However, his plan fails. On the other hand, Jaswant finds out the highest point in the underground mine. He then drills a hole at that very place and attempts to establish contact. The miners, too, realize that they need to be at the highest point for better chances of rescue. With great difficulty, they try to reach there but get stuck due to a stoppage wall between them and the highest point. Meanwhile, time is running fast and Jaswant needs to rescue them before they drown or die by inhaling a poisonous gas present in the mine. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
Tumblr media
Deepak Kingrani's story (story idea by Poonam Gill), inspired by a true incident, is intriguing. Vipul K Rawal's screenplay is engaging. The writer has peppered the narrative with dramatic and tense moments. Deepak Kingrani's dialogues are okay. A film like this should have had more powerful dialogues.Tinu Suresh Desai's direction is superb. At 138 minutes, he has kept the duration in check. He has packed in a lot and also kept things simple for most parts. The obstacles that Jaswant encounters from locating the miners to establishing contact to manoeuvring politics make for a great watch. Some scenes that stand out are Jaswant offering water to a lady in distress, Jaswant convincing the railway officer to slow down the speed of the trains, the intermission, Jaswant establishing contact with the miners, Jaswant promising O P Dayal (Shishir Sharma) that he’ll have tea with him next day etc. The finale is nail-biting.On the flipside, the first half is a bit weak and doesn’t create the desired impact. The VFX is poor. Lastly, there are cinematic liberties in the finale which take away the realism.Speaking of performances, Akshay Kumar’s beard looks a bit unreal. But his performance packs a punch as expected. One can’t help but root for him in this mission. Parineeti Chopra (Nirdosh) puts up a nice act but her role seems forced. Kumud Mishra (R K Ujjwal) is fine but showing him smoking in all scenes gets too much after a point. Dibyendu Bhattacharya is dependable. The same goes for Pavan Malhotra (Bindal) and Virendra Saxena (Tapan Ghosh). Rajesh Sharma (Govardhan Roy) is over the top. From the miners, Ravi Kishan (Bhola) and Jameel Khan (Pasu) leave a mark followed by Sudhir Pandey (Behra), Varun Badola (Shaligram), Mukesh Bhatt (Murli), Bachan Pachehra (Noor; dog-lover) and Omkar Das Manikpuri (Bishu). Shishir Sharma (O P Dayal) is fair. Rajit Kapur and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan are hardly there.Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue | Official Trailer | Akshay KumarThe songs are disappointing. 'Jalsa 2.0' is well-shot while 'Jeetenge' and 'Keemti' fail to register. Sandeep Shirodkar's background score has a commercial vibe.Aseem Mishra's cinematography is appropriate. Sheetal Iqbal Sharma's costumes are realistic. Amrish Patange and Dayanidhi Patturajan's production design is detailed and well-researched. VFX is very bad. Parvez Shaikh's action is fair. Aarif Sheikh's editing is just right. On the whole, MISSION RANIGANJ makes an impact due to the subject, clap worthy moments in the second half, nail-biting moments and Akshay Kumar’s performance. At the box office, the negligible buzz can affect its prospects and it will need a strong word of mouth to make the desired impact. #MISSION #RANIGANJ #impact #due #subject Read the full article

INDIES TOP 108+ BOLLYWOOD MYTHOLOGICALS.. OF ALL TIME !
It is only natural to expect the oldest most ancient perennial spiritual mine & market of the world, the cradle of the universe, India, to devote noticeable quality time to it's spiritual entertainment too.
And not to disappointment here either. The purpose of this playlist being..inspiring the masses into the level of education that's transcendental..ie from normal average understanding of the tangible world (or worldly consciousness) to understanding of the spirit & soul beneath this tangible world & knowledge, (or God/Higher Creative consciousness), & ultimately to Formless Consciousness. And since this process necessarily involves first acquainting the masses with the truth of supernatural overlordship, & thereafter beginning one's journey to connecting the worldy knowledge with that highest spirit knowledge, the hitherto unlearnt & non-formalized deeper science of life, at the doors of which alone lies the keys to developing critical higher thot mass, potent enuf to then acquire the internal energy field needed to burn one's layers of past karma baggage & bondage, & progress faster unto life's ultimate purpose..liberation/self-realization.. ..Thus coming back to the focus area of this study - projecting the big Dot (of God acquaintance!), to be hopefully connected by students later on in life, with the world's many smaller dots, a process known as 'contemplation' !... (A greater elaboration on the process detailed in the below linked blogs- 1. https://wordpress.com/post/indiezone.home.blog/256 2. https://wordpress.com/post/indiezone.home.blog/4696 ) The land with the oldest, & some of the richest most fantastical mythical, aside spiritual literature, ripe for dramatic enunciation, presentation & adornation, has turned out, just in it's national language of Hindi alone, a high quantum of top knotch mythological entt, most prolifically in it's golden cinematic period of 50s & 60s, & also 40s (leaving aside the vast 20s & 30s silent film era spiritual cine treasure, lost to time), the Top 100 of which (as made available for view, though some obscure masterpieces blindly ranked just on basis of reviews of the oldest most highly reputable critics of the time, as also the sampling of some of it's impeccable music) have been laboriously & meticulously extricated, ranked & reassorted, at Indies, for the best most potentially transformative cinematic spiritual experience of its viewers. If ever dharma had a more natural appealing massy outlet! :) Have a watch (any plans on some healthy month long spiritual bingeing!?), & reconnect with the prominent mainstream stories of India, most of your parents, & certainly grandparents & all 'em generations before, have grown up on. The reputed 'land of magic', & it's plethora of multifaried magical Gods & Goddesses! At your beck & call! Should you show some interest! Literally! Have fun!
