i just woke up so the fact tht this is even on my mind is crazy but it finally hit me why lana wouldn’t only mention popular successful hiphop/r&b artist on that post she made. alot of white ppl in the alternative scene and/or who listen to amd make any kind of rock music dont fuck with rap music at all like they really despise it and i honestly feel it because 1.the main artist of these genres are black and 2. hiphop and r&b especially now are most popular to the mainstream and have surpassed the rock genre as a whole of being the music ppl listen too. no one cares about rock or alternative music anymore so it makes since why lana would name drop (black) artist of those genres or even why some months back that old rock star said that billie eilish was “proof that rock isnt dead” when billiie doesn’t make anywhere near rock music and takes elements that stem from hiphop, it because their jealous of hiphops. (and black ppls) success in the industry and wont be happy until they or some other white person is on top again
