Blaise Marie Zuraek Buendia
Place: 5th Place
Average: 6.3
Frankly, I never got Blaise. The judges seem to love her but I just.. never got her look. She does a great androgynous look, like Janny but Janny was much more talented in my opinion. There was also the main issue that unlike Aivie, who was just always eeh, Blaise was terrible for most of her run. Now, she did have some highlights throughout her run. I can argue that her crowning achievement was her gorgeous androgynous shot, which would obviously be a great shoot for her due to her androgynous look. Plus, her dance shot has grown on me over time, it may be flawed but I can see how much she cared and committed to the case, which worked for her favor. However, the rest of her run was either eeh or plain bad. I realize that I very much overrated Blaise’s underwater shot, nowadays I would put it below Janny since despite me loving her face, her body is more flawed than I realize. Her second shoot was also a disaster, which comes my biggest problem with her, she has a look that can make or break a photo but she often looked old when it comes to breaking the photo. Her cat beauty was too tense for me, the alter egos were both bad even with or without the tanned up look (why did they even do that), and while her swimwear was nice, she still looked so befuddled and out of it. Her runway was also one of the worst of the group, it just never flowed for me and often came off as clumsy and heavy. Blaise making it to the top 5 alongside being saved by the judges due to “tying the scores” was a huge wtf moment for me. She clearly had some great moments but she never knew how to make her unique look shine on camera. I have to admire that she’s now a gaming content creator, gamer girls represent!

TOP 3

4. Blaise
Blaise basically let all the male models overpower her so she doesn’t stand out as the result. I like the idea of her being carried by a bunch of male models and her body looks pretty good here, She stretched herself out well and modeled the swimwear decent enough. Her face could use a lot of work though. It’s hard to read her expression but she looks very confused. Her eyes are very dead and even if she’s trying to go for longing, she looks more confused more than anything, at least her bone structure looks nice. Still, my biggest problem is that she doesn’t stand out, she let the hot male models overpower her and as a result, she looks like a sideline to be forgotten. I’m shocked that she was able to stay because the scores tied but at least it gave Janny a second chance.

6. Blaise
After a hint of the limelight with her stellar shot last week, Blaise is back to being mediocre at best, woo! I think my biggest grip to this shot is that she was covered in fake tan for her alter ego, there’s really no point to that at all, why did they do that? Whatever, she still couldn’t make it work. Her face on both sides is the same as her personality shot from 2 weeks ago. Both look scared and confused in the eyes and the snarl of her lips is once again a big issue with me. I could ignore it if it weren’t for her doing the same thing basically for both shots, no personality, no energy, just nothing. They’re just the same shots but flipped and tanned up. I expected better from Blaise but she flopped once again

3. Blaise
Shockingly, Blaise did really well at this shoot after 2 off-weeks. She embodied the theme really well, which is pretty expected since like Janny, she has the perfect boyish look for this type of shoot that had never been fully realized till now. The overstretched leg is a bit overdone (I wish she bent it a bit more) but she still convey a grungy stance by spreading herself out and connecting to Julian (who looks sickening here, god she looks awesome!). Her face is just awesome here as well, it reminds me of early Calvin Klein. It’s grungy, sexy, and the seductive yet bitchy look in her eye is stunning. Blaise came from under the radar to make a pretty great shot.

4. Blaise
Blaise embodied the movement and dancing theme of the shoot the most out of anyone. However, there are some obvious flaws of the shot that does drag it down for me. Mainly, it’s the oddly angled arms and how much they look like a chicken wing here. However, the energy of this shot is pretty awesome! I adore the twist of her body and how she worked with the group around her instead of trying to stand out. Her face is also stunning here! She pulled off the twisted shoulder pose well and the shocked expression on her face works a lot for this type of shot. The subtle motion of “oh no, you caught me!” in her face is beautiful. Blaise’s FCO was surprising but not undeserved, even if there are 3 other shots I like more.

9. Blaise
Blaise’s shot is the only shot I truly dislike this week. It’s just overall so tense and stiff to me. She chose herself the word quirky (makes sense) but this is the opposite of that. It’s just plain boring and painful to look at. Her mouth looks so uncomfortable mainly and with the open eyes, it makes the shot hard to look t for me. It’s as If she’s being stretched by some invisible force and about to get her neck cracked. I wish Blaise closed her mouth up and let her eyes have a bit of flutter to it instead of keeping both wide open for the whole world to see. It’s a disappointing shot considering how much I really liked this week.

6. Blaise
Blaise went for a more action-focused shot more than the others. It’s admirable but there are some big flaws with the shot. Mainly, it’s how she hid her body and the awkward positioning of the legs. However, the rest of the shot is pretty decent. I like the curious expression on her face and the dainty way she’s holding her hand near her jawline. I also have to give her props for doing something more different than the rest of the girls. She doesn’t look in pain and she did take a risk. Even if it isn’t the best shot, Blaise’s shot is certainly very memorable to me.
