Hosted by the Sasori Shayou-dera, a mock bride and mock groom are chosen to participate in the wedding procession and are married underneath the Fox Tree in the Ribbons of the Valley of the Fallen Rainbow. This honor is said to grant blessings from the harvest god, who will watch over the couple during their honeymoon (the winter season) and send gifts of spring when they emerge. The Kitsune no Yomeiri Dochu is a harvest festival celebrated by an elaborate wedding ceremony and honeymoon celebration, including song, dance, and of course drinking. Come join us on November 18th.
