Star Struck - Chapter Three
BTS Master List
Star Struck Mini Master List
Description: (Y/F/N) was going to be a movie star if it was the last thing she ever did! She dropped out of College, and moved to Los Angeles, California in order to follow this dream, working at a 80’s themed diner in order to pay her bills, and rooming with a wonderful - sex addicted - roommate. Jeon Jeong-guk wants to be a star! A popstar, a singer- you name it! And he’s damn good at it too. He could sing better than any of his friends, so in an attempt to get discovered he moved to Los Angeles, California to live with his friend, Kim Taehyung. It was there where he met his new neighbor Clara, who -in an attempt to bring him Welcome Cupcakes, covered him in the tasty treat- immediately became the only thing on his mind at all times.

Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3
Jeongguk removed the cupcakes that had landed on his eyes as best as he could leaving peaks of purple icing on his cheekbones, eyebrows, and forehead. He looked down at the floor and saw a woman looking up at him, a cupcake in her hair. One look at the face of the woman laying there staring up at him and he recognized her immediately. She was the same girl he had seen on the other side of the street after exiting the mall. However, she didn’t exactly appear to be as disheartened as she had earlier.
Of course she wouldn’t be disheartened anymore, she just accidentally - well at least I think it was an accident - dumped a whole platter of cupcakes on me at my front door.
He shook his head and extended his hand to her. She took it and he pulled her up just as a woman walked out of the apartment building next door carrying another platter of cupcakes, her back turned to them.
“I did turn off the stove, I figured we could just give them these as well and we can- WHAT THE HELL (Y/N)!?!?” the woman cried out seeing the mess of cupcakes now on the floor. “I leave you for three seconds and you smash cupcakes into our new neighbors face. What kind of manners are those?”
The woman - (Y/n) as he has now learned -  smiles sheepishly and then raises her hand to her head, further smashing the cupcake into her hair. Her smile vanishes instantly replaced by discomfort at the feeling of what he can only assume is icing and cake rubbing onto her scalp and (y/h/c) locks. She immediately removed her hand and turned to face him, catching him off guard.
“I’m so sorry!” she finally said, “I didn’t mean for...this to happen.”
Jeongguk shrugged his shoulders, raising one of the cupcakes that had been on his face to his mouth and taking a bite, “No harm done. Besides it’s the best homemade cupcake I’ve ever eaten and had smashed in my face.”
She just stared at him awkwardly as the other woman came up behind her and arched her eyebrow.
“We make you cupcakes, she accidentally smashes them in your face, and you don’t invite us in? Taehyung! What kind of a man are you raising!?” the woman asked

With cupcake bits still clinging to her hair, (Y/N) sat quietly at the kitchen table letting Linda do all the talking and questioning, Taehyung joining in occasionally, whilst the new guy - Jeongguk, if her memory served her right - simply nodded along or teased his roommate whenever Linda took a jab at him.
“Soooooooo, what brings you to LA?” Linda finally asks Jeongguk, completely ignoring the icing stains on his face and shirt.
“I want to be a singer,” he answered, puffing his chest out a little bit, “I thought I’d have better luck here than I did in Seoul.”
Linda glanced at her roommate out of the corner of her eye before speaking, “A singer? I think a local pub is hiring singers to perform. I heard from a few that the pay is good and oftentimes big time producers and agents go to scout out for newbies to sign to their labels. I’m sure (Y/N) here would love to show the best ones around.”
Jeong-guk’s eyes widened snapping in Linda’s direction, “Really? Are you sure? Will you really?”
Linda nodded and patted (y/n)’s back, “Of course! Fellow entertainers need to help each other out right?”
“Fellow entertainers?” Jeongguk asked.
“She wants to be an actress, you want to be a singer. The way I see it, you two can help each other out in more ways than you know.”
Turning to face (y/n), Jeongguk smiled brightly and extended his hand, “Let’s give it all we got and make our dreams come true!”
~~~
Taehyung let out a chuckle as he turned to face Jeongguk after seeing their neighbors off.
“That’s got to be the first time I’ve ever seen you not freak out over having to be with not only one but two girls,” he said grabbing a cupcake from the platter on the dining table, “Our baby Kookie has finally grown up!”
Jeongguk’s cheeks went red as he swatted his friend’s hand away from his face. Ruffling his hair, he leaned against the fridge and stared at the older boy. He laughed at what he was thinking about asking him, before proceeding to do so.
“Did you get cupcakes to the face?” Jeongguk asks.
“I got cookies,” he responded, “I probably would’ve preferred cupcakes, they’re much softer.”
Jeongguk laughed at the thought of cookies raining down on his hyung, “Is she normally clumsy?”
Taheyung burst into laughter, “Very. The day she moved in she dropped a crockpot on Linda's foot; at least you got cupcakes.”
Jeongguk chuckled at the thought of that happening next door, before grimacing at the thought of how much it must’ve hurt. Pushing himself off the bridge he grabbed a cupcake and across from Tae. He looked at the purple frosting and turned the treat around in his hands for a while before finally looking up at his friend.
“Do you think we’ll be able to make it?” he asked softly.
Taehyung stopped mid chew and looked at the younger male for a bit before responding, “I think that everything happens when it’s meant to happen. Someone will find you and give you a shot.”
“What about her?”
Letting out a deep sigh, Tae leaned back in his chair and looked at his friend, “She’ll get her moment too. You know that. Just don’t lose hope and you’ll be fine. Besides, when the time does come, I’m sure everyone will be star struck by the sheer amount of inimaginable talent you both possess.”
Smiling, Jeongguk set the cupcake down and looked at this older friend, “So you only look like an idiot, huh.”
Tae let out a laugh and punched his friend in the arm jokingly. Standing up, he popped his back before bidding Jeongguk a goodnight, warning him not to stay up too late playing video games and to get a goodnight’s rest in order to have strength for the next day. With him disappearing into a room, Jeongguk was left alone at the dining table. He made his way over to the balcony door in the living and stepped outside.
The air was chilly, but not cold enough to need a jacket. Looking up at the sky he was disappointed by the random speck of light he saw in the sky. Almost none of the stars that he was used to seeing a boy were noticeable.
“It sucks huh,” he heard a voice say.
Turning he saw (y/n) looking up at the night sky too.
“Not being able to see the beauty of the stars at night,” she continued, “I was so upset my first night here when I looked up and couldn’t see the stars. I almost regretted leaving the comfort of the small town I grew up in where I could always see the stars no matter where in town I was.”
“I felt the same way when I left Busan and moved to Seoul,” he revealed, “But it gets better.”
She turned to face him. He hadn’t noticed the tears pooling her eyes, until he saw the lone tear drop falling down her cheek.
“Does it really though?” she asked, turning back to the night sky.
“At some point it will, you’ve just gotta let that time come on it’s own.”
She let out a shaky laugh before turning back to him, “You should get some rest. It’s late.”
He nodded and pushed himself off the railing looking at her, “Goodnight (y/n).”
“Goodnight Jeongguk.”
A/N: Procrastination at its best. Literally finished writing this hours ago after many movies, KDrama, podcasts, and songs. I hope you enjoyed it and. as always. requests are open!
