Qin Empire Series Netflix MBTI
Simply a masterpiece. Especially on ruling, reforms and transition of a country. Quite good, quite good.
Wei Yang (Shang Yang) - ENTJ 1w9 so/sp (Lion-Bird)
This man is so Te. All his decisions are fact-based with undertone of personal moral code. And his extremely high efficiency/energy level is also aided by his Te-dom and enneagram 1. He is more detached than Ying Quliang though, owing to both his Te-dominant and 9 wing.
Bai Xue - ENFJ 9w1 so/sp (Lion-Snake)
Ying Yu - ESFP 6w7 so/sx (Snake-Lion)
Ying Quliang (Duke of Qin) - ENFJ 1w2 sp/so (Badger-Bird)
Ideal ruler... Although his drive for perfection ultimately dooms him. He is marked with constant frustration (things should be better, he should be better, 'I don't work hard enough' - 1w2 + sp dominant) and his perchance for cooperation and persuasion rather than brute force (wing 2). His decisions are all people-based. Even his objection to the first mass executions came from a place of humanity ('harsh punishment will hurt people's feelings. What if people leave Qin for that?') He is also an excellent negotiator and mediator who is able to find a common ground with anyone. He always focuses on unity and consensus (New policy or Reform, both require change so let's discuss whether we want to change or not - Fe consensus seeking).
He always focuses on emotional wellbeing of people around him. Like, he saw Wei Yang overworking, he told him off because he 'cares' about his friend. He always focuses on people element of everything.
Ying Qian - ESFP 8w7 sp/so (Double Lion)
Duchess Dowager of Qin - ESTJ 1w2 so/sp (Lion-Badger)
Duke Xiao of Qin (Lao Qin) - ESTP 7w8 so/sp (Double Lion)
Lao Gan Long (the old cunt but smart af) - INFJ 9w1 sp/so (Badger-Snake)
His hallmark is the detachment from present reality and his attachment to a futuristic insight that everyone in his faction doesn't understand. He doesn't care if he has to wait decades to enact his plan, he knows he has to survive until then and focuses solely on that. A byproduct of his Ni-dom + 9w1 chillness (I'll wait until it's time, no need to rush). He often speaks in high abstraction that his more grounded apprentice (ISTJ 6w7 sp/so) and son find hard to understand.
He knew the timing wasn't right and waited patiently for 20 years before launching his masterplan to get rid of Wei Yang (even then being careful not to touch the reform, knowing the implication it'll bring to his cause and to his country as a whole). All of that speaks to Ni as his dominant function.
Ying Si
(First Season): ESFJ 6w7 (683) sp/so (Lion-Badger)
(Second Season): ENTP 6w5 (684) sp/so (Burnt Snake-Snake)
Gongzi Ang (yuck) - ESTP 3w4 sp/so (Glory hound Lion-Snake)
Wei Wang (Duke/King Hui of Wei) - ENTP 7w8 sp/sx (Double Snake)
Gongshu Cuo - INFJ 6w5 so/sp (Bird-Badger)
Pang Juan - ENTJ 6w5 sp/so (Double Lion)
..................................................................................................
Zhang Yi (second season)
ENTP 3w2 (379) sp/so (Lion-Snake)
Mi Yue (second season)
ESTP 3w2 (387) sp/so (Double Snake)
This version of Mi Yue is actually how I imagined her to be - a seductress with shrewd political instinct. Someone who can handle any and all situation gracefully (like how image type will be, generally) but also ruthless in her ambition and doesn't mind doing dirty things to get ahead. I love Sun Li version (which was ENTJ 1w2 sp/so Double Lion) but this version is just so iconic and bitchy.
I considered 8w7 at first, given how super aggressive and temperamental she could be, but her drive is still ambition. She is also more able to play the game, flattering people and doing image management (which are all 3. An 8 would just nail them to the ground instead of playing with them)
Wei Furen (second season)
ISFJ 9w1 sp/so
poor soul ...

psst hey u should totally do more stories of townspeople reacting and responding to MC's depression. Like how about Pam or Linus bringing passed out MC to the hospital after they pass out in the caves and everyone's worried about the farmer and Harvey realizes the farmer doesn't give a shit about their own safety and wellbeing and most days the farmer doesn't want to bother Harvey so they just drag themselves home most of the time and just sleep it off
Sorry for the belated response--my inbox still isn’t notifying me when I have new messages sometimes :/ Here ya go anon!
--
As is usual in the summertime, Linus sought the comfort of nature’s air conditioning in the cool depths of the caves. Sometimes, when he was lucky, he’d find cave carrots to munch on, and even rarer, he’d find gemstones to pawn off for some cash at the blacksmith’s shop.
He had spent a fair amount of time there when he finally spotted a cluster of amethyst. Linus made a beeline towards it, and just as he was scooping it into his bag, he swore he heard a whimper. It was so faint that he thought he’d hallucinated at first, and continued on his way. A few moments later, just as he was heading to leave, it came again, and he realized that it sounded human. Linus’s stomach lurched. He peered around the cave nervously.
“Hello?” He called. He turned around and noticed a flash of blue in the darkest corner. Linus approached slowly, carefully. Upon recognizing the straw hat and overalls of the town farmer, Linus gasped and rushed to help them.
“MC!” He cried. He shook them, gently, and realized that they were unconscious. “Oh, God, oh, God.” Linus muttered, gingerly lifting them up. He was alarmed at how light they felt in his arms, even as dead weight. As best as he could manage, he carried them all the way to the town clinic.
A few nerve-wracking hours later, MC’s eyes fluttered open, and the small crowd that had gathered cheered in celebration. Linus, Harvey, Maru, and Lewis  hovered around MC’s bed, fear in their eyes. MC sulked, immediately realizing what had happened. Again.
“I’m sorry, guys. I just ruined your day.” They sighed.
“Nonsense. We’re just happy you’re okay!” Harvey said. The farmer blushed.
“I appreciate your concern, everyone. But you can all go back to whatever it is you were doing...I’m fine now.” They smiled stiffly.
“I’ll be at my desk in the front. Holler if you need anything, okay?” Maru said.
“Thanks, Maru.”
“And I have to go collect business taxes today, but I wanted to make sure you were going to pull through,” Mayor Lewis added. “You have to be more careful, MC. You’re going to give someone in town a heart attack one of these days.” He waggled a chiding finger at them.
“I know, I know. I’m trying my best.” Lewis left, giving the farmer one last wave.
“I have an appointment in a few minutes here, but I’ll keep checking in on you. We’ll keep you for a night just to make sure all your vitals are steady.” Harvey said.
“Thanks, Harvey. I owe you.” Harvey nodded shyly and headed back into his office.
“Well, I don’t have any place to be, so I can keep you company for a while, if you want.” Linus offered. The farmer smiled.
“Only if you want. Really, it’s not a big deal.” Linus frowned.
“It is a big deal, though. I was the one who found you in there, MC. It was really scary and sad to see. I thought the worst, you know.” He stared at his feet reflectively. MC sat up in bed and looked at Linus with regret.
“I’m so sorry, Linus. Really. I didn’t mean to drag you or anyone else into this.” The two of them made eye contact, neither daring to pull away first.
“You’re not dragging anyone into anything. When your health is at risk, you know the whole town will be there for you in an instant,” Linus glanced around the room for a moment. “I’m technically not even a resident of Pelican Town, and you all brought me in to the clinic last year when I had pneumonia. It’s an expectation that people will care for you when you need it. It’s no burden, to anyone.” The farmer said nothing in response. Linus studied their face, concerned.
Meanwhile, in the other room, while waiting for his patient, Harvey had been listening to their conversation as nonchalantly as he could. Somewhere, deep in his gut, was a feeling so rotten that he almost barged in on them. He restrained himself, continuing to eavesdrop.
“Can I tell you something crazy, Linus?”
“What’s that?”
“Sometimes...” The farmer said, carefully. “I want to be found. I want to pass out, sometimes. Is that crazy?”
For a few long moments, there was complete silence.
“Self-destructive behavior is a common coping mechanism.”
“I’m not coping with anything.” Harvey could almost picture the angry denial on the farmer’s face. He’d seen it on them a few times before.
“You don’t have to convince me, MC.”
More silence.
“I just don’t know what to do anymore. All I want to do is sleep.”
“You want my opinion?”“Not really, but I assume you’ll be giving it to me, anyway.”
“Correct.” Linus said. Harvey grinned, in spite of himself. He wish he had the nerve to be so honest. “Sleep is for the weak. And I don’t mean that you shouldn’t sleep at all, because you should A solid eight hours a night, actually. Especially you, working hard on that farm all day. Anyway...” Here, Linus paused. “I mean that it takes courage to get up every day. Sleep is an escape when you don’t want to face reality. But sometimes, you have to force yourself to do it. You can’t sleep forever.”
“Why are you telling me all this, Linus?” Their question hung in the air.
“You think I was born homeless, MC?”
“I...”
“No.” There was a sharp tone to his voice which was not quite anger, but still demanded respect. “I grew up with everything, but here I am now. You think it was all peaches and roses?”
The farmer was speechless.
“I accept this as my life now, and I like it this way, but I was like you, once. I know what it’s like to not want to wake up.”
Harvey counted seven full seconds of silence before MC’s timid reply.
“I’m sorry, Linus.”
“Don’t be. I just want you to be happy. And the only way to do that is to let the people you love help you. So let us help you. Okay?”
Harvey smiled, still alone in his office.
“Okay.”
“It’s going to get better. I promise.”
