the anon that sent in handler Kali and dog hybrid reader has such an immaculate brain
now consider beloved Sarabi with a dog hybrid reader. Reader's visibly mistreated, mangy, matted, dirty fur, chipped claws, they're cold/trembling and malnourished, snapping at everything and everything behind the too tight muzzle.
i don't have many thoughts i just want Sarabi to care me
Imagine your owner taking you into the groomer's because you're just "too aggressive" for them to groom you themselves. And in comes Groomer!Sarabi and he's so polite, his words soft and his movements slow so you don't get startled with sudden movements. He takes off your muzzle, because he doesn't believe your owner about you being so aggressive, you're such a sweet dog hybrid!
He glares at your owner all the while giving you such softness. He treats you to some water and food, cooing at you. He waits until you're all fed before starting to shave off matted pieces of fur, humming softly to keep you calm.
In between the grooming session, Sarabi gives you scratches behind the ears and kisses on your snout. He tells you that you're such a good boy and that he'll take you away from that mean owner of yours.
And he does, he calls the social services designed for hybrids who are being mistreated and he takes you home, intending on caring for you better than everyone else did.

rich reader who doesn't really know how to express love other than "give stuff"™ trying to make something for Sarabi. be it a treat or a hand made gift either way it comes out wonky and reader considers just throwing it out and buying a proper version but Sarabi walks in on him and reader is super embarrassed about his lack of skill, calls himself a "useless rich man" and apologises to Sarabi for not being good at things other than making money
Sarabi roamed the halls, wondering where you were because he missed you. His black balaclava and yellow-gold lioness mask was off, showing off the burn scars that marred the right side of his face and the entire right side of his body. But he knew you wouldn't judge him for his appearance.
He was so happy with you, he had never been so happy before. And everyone around him knew it too.
Simba teased that he hadn't known Sarabi could be anything more than a grump or a smug bastard. Kali told him that he glowed whenever he was around you. Nala remarked that he was happy Sarabi was finally in a loving relationship.
So he was happy, very happy. Now if only he could find you, that would make him happier.
Sarabi opened a door where he knew you tried knitting in. He walked in and there were you, bent over a new project. One that you were struggling with.
Little did he know, it was a snake stuffie for him. You had wanted to gift something that couldn't exactly be bought, something hand-made. But you weren't that great at knitting, so to you, the snake looked really terrible.
"{Name}, what are you making?" Sarabi asked, walking over. He peered over your shoulder, a smile finding its way onto his face as he saw the snake stuffie. "Oh, that's cute. I thought you didn't like snakes though."
You were flustered that he was seeing your failed project and you said, "I don't like snakes, but you do." Your voice was softer than usual, sheepish. "It's for you, but it's not great, I know. I'm going to scrap it, just buy you a snake stuffie from the store."
He stopped you when you grabbed the stuffie to throw it in the trash. "No, don't do that." He took the stuffie, his smile growing wider as he held it and ran his hand over it. "It's perfect, thank you."
"You don't have to pretend it's good," you murmured despite yourself. "I'm such a useless rich man, I can't make you nice hand-made stuffies."
"Hey, don't say that," Sarabi said as he set the stuffie down. He turned to face you and cupped your cheeks gently. "You're not a useless rich man. You made me something really beautiful and something that can't be replicated. I love your knitting projects. They're not perfect, sure, but that's why I love them. You made them with love and care, and that's something the store-bought stuffies can't convey."
You took in his words and when you took too long to say something, Sarabi leaned in and pressed gentle kisses all over your face. It made you laugh, one of your hands reaching up to wrap around one of his wrists and rub it lovingly.
"I don't know what I did to deserve you," you replied, smiling now. You felt better about the snake stuffie, about your knitting skills in general.
Sarabi gave you a gentle little kiss on the lips before pulling back slightly to look you in the eyes. "You were yourself. That's what you did to deserve me."
He let go of your face and grabbed the snake stuffie, smiling down at it again.
"I really love it, thank you."
"Anything for you, darling."

Rescue Mission
CW: Canon-typical violence & death, PTSD (not entirely accurate, please tell me if it's offensive), mention of torture, and rather graphic description of scars/wounds.
"We have a new mission," Kali said as he entered The Lions' shared barracks, where the other three soldiers in his squad were. He walked to the dining table, unfurling a map and setting it down on the table.
Sarabi frowned, noticing how his captain didn't sound as upbeat as usual. "A new mission?" he asked, getting up from the armchair that he had claimed months ago and walking over to where Kali was.
"Uh, not to be a worry-wart, Cap," Nala started, also moving towards Kali along with Simba. "But you're usually more excited for a new mission than you are right now. Is everything alright?"
Kali fiddled with his hands, it being unusual since he had settled back into his usual projection of authority and strength ever since he and the other Lions were reunited.
"It's a rescue mission, Commander Graves is sending us to save a Fleet Marine Corpsman who was presumed to be dead six months ago but was actually captured," he explained, ignoring Nala's question. He cleared his throat as he continued. "The people who are holding him is the terror cell called Minerva."
The name of said terror cell caused Simba, Nala, and Sarabi to bristle at the mention, all of them having a bad experience with the terror cell. After all, a year ago, Minerva was the both the mission and the terror cell that injured all three of them and caused the Marine Corps to presume they were dead. It was a sore subject for all of them, even Kali.
Simba seemed especially bothered by this new information. "The Marine Corps still haven't taken them down after what happened to us?" he inquired, a sneer heard in his voice and no doubt was on his face that was covered by the black balaclava.
Kali shrugged, barely containing his own rage. "According to the file that Graves gave me, the Marine Corps tried to take down Minerva but the squad they sent after us to another warehouse of Minerva barely got out of there alive and their Fleet Marine Corpsman—the one we're rescuing—got captured in the mayhem," he said, his hands curling into fists at the thought. "Shadow Company scouts have caught a glimpse of this Corpsman, callsign "Cerberus", in a warehouse specifically meant for prisoners of Minerva but they're all going to be moving to somewhere else soon. The window to rescue him is closing."
He let this all sink in and he looked at his men.
Sarabi was stock still, but that was usual for the lieutenant. Simba seemed perturbed at the thought of encountering Minerva again and Nala was trying to hide his fear by fiddling with his leather gloves.
They were scared and Kali couldn't blame them. Kali was the only one who managed to not get an injury during the fateful "Minerva" mission The Lions were sent on, but it still scarred him emotionally. And it had scarred his men physically.
Sarabi had his entire right side of his body, face and all, burned from barely diving out of the way when a grenade was thrown. Nala had a nasty knife scar on his stomach which still throbbed and felt like it could open out at any time. Simba had a bullet scar on his back and his legs still felt shaky despite the numerous months of physical therapy he was going to.
"I can ask Graves to assign another squad to the mission," Kali suggested after a few beats of silence. His hand reached for the closest Lion, which was Simba, intertwining their fingers together in a comforting gesture. "We don't have to do this mission, I will back you all up if you don't want to do it."
Sarabi looked at his other squadmates, all of them communicating silently. "We want to do the mission, Mufasa," he replied after a few seconds of silent communication. "There's a Corpsman in need of rescuing, assigning another squad could take more time than he has. You said it yourself, there's a window of time to rescue him that's closing."
Simba nodded in agreement with his lieutenant, squeezing Kali's hand. "Yeah, besides, we're in dire need of a Corpsman, yeah?" His comment was light-hearted and it made Nala and Kali chuckled just a little bit.
"Alright, then let's go over the plan." Kali let go of Simba's hand and took a deep breath before launching into the details of the plan.
*************
A day later, The Lions were executing their plan, having a back-up Shadow Company squad waiting in case the plan went wrong. Again.
Their entry to the warehouse was smooth, Kali leading the front of the group and shooting down enemies. They moved through the warehouse as one, Kali in the front while Simba and Nala were in the middle with Sarabi flanking the rear. They shot down enemy after enemy, making quick work at getting to the large room where the prisoners were being held.
"Simba, you have the flash grenade ready?" Kali asked as they all pressed themselves against the wall near the door, Kali on the left side of the door while while Simba was right side.
Simba nodded, holding the flash grenade. "I'm ready, Mufasa."
"On three, Simba. One, two, three."
Simba opened the door and threw the denoted flash grenade into the room. It exploded and there were sounds of enemies shouting out in surprise as they got blinded.
The Lions used the temporary disadvantage and breached the room, taking down enemies. They didn't bother keeping any alive for interrogation, as their mission was solely a rescue mission. So all of their shooting were lethal, hitting their targets efficiently.
When all of the firing was dead twenty minutes later, Sarabi and Nala got to work on the freeing the prisoners while Kali and Simba moved to the other parts of the warehouse to take down the rest of the enemies.
"We're friendlies, from the private military company called Shadow Company," Nala said, his voice soft. He got to work getting the chains off of the prisoners. "We're going to get all of you out of here and to safety. But we're also here for a specific person, a Corpsman. Callsign "Cerberus". Any of you fit that description?"
"I didn't break," a weak masculine voice said, prompting Sarabi and Nala to turn their heads to look at the man.
His brown skin was pale, dirty, and scarred with knife and whip scars that covered almost everywhere on his body. There were scars spanning six months on his arms, legs, torso, back. One could barely see the tattoo of a swallow on his left shoulder and the tattoo of an eagle flying over a globe with the words "Semper Fi" underneath it that was on his right forearm because the swallow tattoo was marred by a whip scar and the Semper Fi tattoo was marred by a knife scar going up his right arm. His black hair was shoulder-length, evidence of his six-month captivity, and when he lifted his head up to look at both Sarabi and Nala, there was a huge knife scar that went from his right eyebrow down all the way to his cheek and seemed to blind the eye as it was white and cloudy.
"You didn't break?" Sarabi asked, slowly walking towards the Corpsman. He knelt down and gently unchained the man. "You stayed true to your country?"
The Corpsman, Cerberus, nodded. "They tried to get me to turn, I held my ground," he replied, his eyes drooping as he was so dehydrated and hungry.
Sarabi felt a pull towards the Corpsman and he very slowly and gently cupped Cerberus' right cheek, running his gloved thumb across the scar.
"You did great, soldier," he murmured, smiling softly beneath the hard-plated lioness mask and his black balaclava to which Cerberus could see his eyes crinkle as he smiled.
"We're getting you out of here, you survived. You survived and you're going home."

Content Warning: Suggestive at the end.
Stone was outside, mowing the front lawn as his husband was in the backyard, tending to their fruits and vegetables garden. It was a hot day, so hot that Stone had taken off his shirt, showing off his scarred brown skin.
"Hi," a woman's voice cut through the noise of the lawn mower Stone was using, signaling to him that she was standing there on the driveway.
Stone stopped the lawn mower and looked back at her, his cold and stoic facade quickly settling in place amidst a stranger. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice cold because only few saw his softer side.
But his coldness didn't deter the woman, who was attractive even if he wasn't exactly looking, and she still managed to preen at his deep voice.
"I moved in next door and thought I should come over, introduce myself," she said, stepping closer to him. She stepped onto the freshly mowed grass, oblivious to the tick forming in Stone's jaw as she extended her hand for him to shake. "I'm Denise."
"Call me Stone," Stone said, shaking her hand only to be polite. He didn't bother touching her more than he had to.
Denise seemed oblivious to all of the signs Stone was giving her as she asked, "So, Stone, are you free some time? I'd love to have you over for dinner one day, so I can get to know you better. I want to get to know my neighbors." Her eyes seemed to rake up and down his burly figure, clearly liking what she saw.
Stone opened his mouth to answer, but Sarabi, his husband, stepped forward. He seemed to have come out of the shadows, making Denise jump back in surprise.
"Unfortunately, my husband and I don't go to other people's houses," he said, his voice super gruff. He stepped closer to his husband, the possessiveness seeping out of his pores as he wrapped an arm around Stone's waist. "But I'm sure we'd be willing to host the dinner here, if you'd still like to get to know us?"
Denise's eyes went between the two men, her smile faltering at know learning Stone was married but she kept her smile up. "Of course, I'd be happy to come over. Whenever you're both free," she said, though she sounded a little sour at the news Stone was taken.
She stayed for a minute more to confirm details about their dinner together before she left, practically scurrying away in a hurry.
Stone rested his head on Sarabi's shoulder. He melted when he felt his husband's arm around his waist tighten. "You know, it's so nice when you get possessive," he murmured to Sarabi.
"Is that so?" Sarabi asked, his gruff voice softer now. "I was almost tempted to kiss you right then and here just to put her in her place."
Stone took that as an invitation, turning just enough to be able to lift up Sarabi's balaclava just enough to reveal Sarabi's mouth and he leaned into kiss his husband. It was a sweet kiss, but Sarabi's possessiveness was still there as his thick, strong hand took hold of Stone's ass through Stone's pants.
Sarabi growled softly when they pulled away for air. "You're mine, my husband. You got that?"
"Perhaps... You should make sure I remember that," Stone said, panting softly.
Sarabi took that challenge, switching his hold on Stone to pick him up and carry him into the house.
The garden and the lawn were forgotten for the day, but neither man cared.

imagine one of those monster aus and reader is a big powerful type monster that is all purrs, murrs, tail wags and snuggles when it comes to Stone and Sarabi.
their personal guard monster
Lion hybrid!Sarabi and bear hybrid!Stone enjoying their powerful dragon hybrid!Reader.
Stone and Sarabi are both used to be the scary dogs, being the ones to defend others (hell, that's the entire reason for male lion hybrids like Sarabi, they're their to prevent other males from trying to control the pride). But with you, a dragon hybrid, they can be the one who's defended. They both secretly enjoy the way other hybrids tremble whenever they see you, the way other hybrids don't step up to them when you're around.
And when you're all away from prying eyes, they practically embed themselves to your sides, happily cuddling you. They get your soft side and they go feral over it. Sarabi loves when you help him groom his coat when you're both in your animal forms. Stone loves the way you protectively wrap your wings around him when you're sleeping. They fall asleep to your purrs of contentment, the rumble of your chest as you laugh.

do you have any voice claims for your ocs?
Not really, no. The best I can do is describe their voice and tell you if they have an accent or not.
Stone has a thick Indian accent, somehow. He hasn't been with his father for about eighteen-nineteen years, but he still retains the Indian accent that he picked up from all those years alone in a house with his father (who had gotten the accent from his own father). His voice is deep and cold (you know it is). Also, he's almost always speaking loudly, he doesn't even notice it. It's just the way he talks.
Kali has a southern accent, everyone knows it. His voice is lyrical though, deep but smooth even with the accent. It's not a thick southern accent, since he has a hint of an Indian accent mixing in with it.
Sarabi has a thick Russian accent, also somehow. He was home-schooled until he was a freshman in high school and despite the many years around other Americans, he never shook off the accent. His voice is super gruff, like he has been a chainsmoker but he has never smoked in his life. His voice is only soft when reciting poetry.
Simba has a Californian accent. Right sounds like "raught", time sounds like "Tom". Everyone thinks it's funny, even him. His voice is actually high-pitched, I said it. He sounds feminine (even with the testosterone shots he's taking) and he doesn't really care.
Nala has a New York accent, because he grew up in New York. Every word is laced with it, it's inescapable. His voice is neither deep nor high-pitched, it's rather neutral.
Ladder's accent is indistinguishable, she lived in an area with people who had a ride range of ethnicities and so it's just a blend of all those accents. Her voice is soft and sweet, sickening sweet. It's how she gets people to underestimate her long enough so she can pull the wool off their eyes in the most hilarious way possible. Yeah, think she's a weak, defenseless woman, she'll eventually show you whether by sparring or lifting a ladder.
Heartthrob gives me Midwestern vibes, I don't know why. So he has a slight midwestern accent. His voice is also sweet, but unlike Ladder, he's actually completely friendly (not that she's not friendly). He just exudes warmth, okay?
Hellstorm has an indistinguishable accent like Ladder does, but it's because he mostly grew up with white people who had no accent. His voice is kind of deep and painfully monotone, like he's constantly bored. (And here I am, wanting to set him and Sarabi up in the Teacher!AU.)

Okay I don't know if it's because of my current love for a "mysterious, withdrawn person x mysterious, withdrawn person who is just slightly a little more outgoing" relationship dynamic or if it's because of my love for friends-to-lovers trope, but I can see Stone x Sarabi being a thing. I know I've only talked their relationship a little bit, how they've bonded over everyone around them being so much more outgoing, but I can see them being drawn towards each other romantically.
I can see them finding solace in their similarities (I know opposites attract is a thing, but you can't tell me some couples are just really similar in personalities) and I can see them falling in love with the small little differences that sets them apart.
They'd both bring out the softer sides of each other but I feel like Sarabi would bring out a softer side of Stone in a way Kali or Heartthrob could never bring out in Stone (or Grim Reaper!Stone, in Heartthrob's case). Like with Sarabi, Stone's more innocent, for a lack of a better term. He'd be so affectionate and want so many cuddles, would giggle at Sarabi's jokes.
(I'm a firm believer that Stone giggles and gets really soft and almost childlike when he really feels super safe with someone.)
And Stone brings out the side of Sarabi that's the hopeless romantic, the one who sees flowers and sees how vibrant the colors are. The side that Sarabi only touches upon for his poetry. Fun fact, Sarabi actually used to bird-watch when he was a kid, and I feel like Stone got him into bird-watching again.
Imagine them settling down somewhere after they've retired, getting Stone his six cats (yes, Sarabi also likes cats so he would definitely let Stone get six). Sarabi grows a little fruits and vegetables garden somewhere where no one can easily get into so Stone knows the fruits and vegetables weren't poisoned or anything. Stone regularly helps Sarabi keep his facial burn scars nice and protected when they're outside, putting sunscreen on the scars.
Speaking of Sarabi and his burn scars, I feel like Stone is the only one who gets to touches them. He's so gentle with touching Sarabi's right side of his face, cradling the cheek so gently as to not give Sarabi any phantom pains. And Sarabi who usually flinches when someone even brushes against his right side just leans into the touch, tilting his head to the side so his entire scarred cheek in Stone's palm.
The moral of the story is that to me, Stone x Sarabi is a great couple and I feel like making an AU where they're married and enjoying being husbands.

Why Those Nicknames?
If you ever looked at the basic info posts for my COD OCs and saw their nicknames and wondered, "why?", this is for you. Just something fun. This is solely for the COD OCs that are in "The Lions" squad (Kali, Sarabi, Simba, & Nala) because there's a post about why Stone's nicknames are his.
Kali:
Mufasa- This is technically a callsign, but I put it in the nicknames section because only The Lions and Stone use it to refer to Kali. Everyone else, including me, uses Kali when referring to him.
The Phantom of the Opera- This was sorta touched upon but here's a more in-depth explanation. Kali's light on his feet, like a phantom, but he also sings (hence the opera part). During his earlier years in the Marine Corps, Kali used to sneak up on people and sing songs from the musical The Phantom of the Opera, just because he could and it sparked the nickname.
Harbinger of Death- Harbinger means a person who announces or signals the approach of something, which is fitting for Kali considering as a sniper, he kills people. But also no enemy has ever seen him and survived, hence the nickname.
Sarabi:
True Leader of The Lions- Partly because he's the one that does the most of Kali's paperwork (because Kali, despite being a captain, hates paperwork) but also because it's a play on the fact that prides of lions are usually a matriarchy. So since Sarabi's callsign is a feminine name whereas Kali's (at least in the squad) is a masculine name, people joke Sarabi should be the actual captain of the squad.
Shadow-Man- Sarabi manages to blend in the shadows somehow, he hides there and no one really knows he's there because he usually doesn't talk much. Also, some people have said he manipulates shadows when he moves (which is just to further the legend of him).
Simba:
Geek-Man- It's not because he's a math prodigy, I swear. It's because he has these "geek-outs" as he calls them, where he just info-dumps about a certain subject. It's mostly about math or animals, don't ask him about fun facts about zebras. He will talk your ear off about zebras.
Greene Day- He loves the band Green Day and if you hear him humming, it's most likely a Green Day song. Combine that with the fact that his last name is Greene, you get the nickname "Greene Day".
Chaos Himbo- You may be thinking, if he's smart, how can he be a himbo? It's the energy. He doesn't seem smart, especially not with the way he has often accidentally set a fire in the microwave by trying to microwave different things. He's also chaotic in the way he has run several times on all fours, like he's a four-legged animal. He surprisingly runs pretty well on all fours.
Nala:
Daddy Williams- He got this nickname before he became an actual father and it's because he made the mistake of saying he once had a partner (not his wife) call him "Daddy" in bed. And no one let him live that down. It's gotten to the point where his daughters call him "Papa" and yes, that was his conscientious choice to teach them to call him that.
Man with a Bunker- It's self-explanatory; he has a bunker. Everyone found out when he just said "I do have a bunker" when someone joked he'd be the type to have a bunker. It's speculated that he might have more than one bunker, but he refuses to give a distinct answer on whether or not he has more than one.
Lord of the Weapons- Just a funny nickname because of the fact that he has a bunker and is a weapons expert. Other soldiers, non-weapons experts, revel at his knowledge of weapons and the fact that he can assemble and reassemble a sniper rifle blind-folded. Yes, people have actually seen him do it. In-universe, there are videos of him doing so.

when dragon reader finds out that Nala already has a family he's like "my bad aplogies" and backs off since dragons see family and mates as incredibly important and sacred. maybe he gives Nala some gems and gold as an apology gift for overstepping and disrespecting him and and his family
dragon hybrid reader is so hyped when Simba shows him Ashton because like i mentioned dragon hybrids are really about family and since in a clutch of eggs (which is usually like three) most of the time only one survives to hatching so since babies are rare dragons treasure them imensely and Ashton is just another precious baby in dragon readers eyes so reader spoils him rotten (and Simba too) and if anyone even dares to breathe wrong at the baby reader is all rage and hellfire because how dare some worm threaten the safety of a cub. anyway dragon reader would be super hyped to be a dad/stepdad he just wants babies and is ready to take care of both Simba and his kit
Imagine dragon hybrid!Reader, fox hybrid!Simba, wolf hybrid!Kali, lion hybrid!Sarabi, & bear hybrid!Stone all in one polycule and taking care of fox hybrid!Ashton together. Like Simba is just happy he found mates that still accept him even with having a kit from a previous failed relationship.
Simba teaches his kit how to hunt, since that's his duty as a father. Sarabi grooms Ashton's coat while Stone offers any fish he manages to get, the two of them just doing on the little kit. You and Kali team up together to chase off any hybrid that tries to hurt the little family you all created.
Like you all huddled together, each taking turns cuddling Ashton while you all lay on furs you accumulated over the years.
Of course, Nala comes over with his family, to visit you all and for his daughters to play with Ashton.

rich reader overhears Kali jokingly asking about the new tech for the squad and reader uses his big boy money to get them stuff that most government backed armies don't even have like im talking things that aren't even out to the (military) public. reader pulls some hella strings just so Sarabi and his gang have the best things and he's just standing there showing the stuff like a proud cat bringing its prey to its owner or a bird trying to impress a mate
Kali stared in shock at the influx of new, not yet out, tech that The Lions got from Sarabi's boyfriend. He was just complaining about needing new military vehicles a few days ago and now they had new vehicles and military gear that will make the other Shadows look on the squad with envy.
"I'm surprised Sarabi managed to pull a rich man," Nala murmured as he stood next to Kali. He chuckled and gently pushed his captain's mouth closed by moving Kali's chin up. "I suppose it's a good thing, though. I've never seen him so happy before."
Simba, Kali, and Kali looked to where Sarabi and you were standing next to the new tech with Commander Graves. Sarabi's face was covered by his balaclava and lioness mask as always, but his body language said it all. He was melting and preening underneath your attention.
Simba was gobsmacked to see his lieutenant act like this. "I always thought the man only had two sides to him: the grump and the smug bastard. I've never seen him so... lovesick," he remarked in awe.
Kali snapped out of his bewilderment to gently smack the back of Simba's head. "Hush. Sarabi's happy, and that's all that matters." He frowned beneath his neck gaiter and half-blue, half-black mask. "I can't believe no one knew his and Kevin's marriage wasn't as happy as they made it seem."
"Hey, none of that matters now," Nala said, lifting up on his toes to wrap an arm around Kali's shoulder. "As you said, he's happy and that's all that matters."
The three men looked back at you and Sarabi. Sarabi was properly thanking you with kissing your knuckles, you smiling at him. He was glowing.
"Yeah, that's all matters," Simba repeated.

A/N: This is because of this post. Also I'm calling this AU Mr. Silent & Mr. Grumpy AU. Because I can.
**
Stone woke up from his dream, his eyes opening wide as he softly gasped. Beside him, his husband stirred and tightened the arms that were wrapped around Stone's waist, grounding him in reality.
"Was it another flashback?" Sarabi asked, lifting his head from where it had been nestled into the crook of his husband's neck. "It's okay, Vikram. You're not there, you're here. With me."
Stone took a few deep breaths, letting the remnants of the flashback fade away as he felt Sarabi massage his hips to make him relax.
"Ivan... Would you still love me if I was a worm?" he asked, needing something to distract him from the flashback that had woken him up.
Sarabi nodded almost immediately, kissing the crown of Stone's head. "Of course, baby. I'd keep you safe by building you a big enough enclosure so you could have so much space to roam around and I'd pour the finest dirt inside so you'd only have the best dirt to burrow around in," he answered, always the romantic.
"Would you still love me if I was a worm?" he asked Stone, curious to know his husband's answer.
"Honestly..." Stone started saying, "Well, only because we're married, since the whole "in sickness and in health" vows come into play. But if we were just dating, well... No."
Sarabi chuckled at that, tilting his head up to nuzzle his nose against Stone's scarred cheek. "Oh, so if I get cursed and turned into a worm anytime soon, you'll still love me because we're married?"
Stone nodded and Sarabi couldn't help but smile. He hummed in approval when Stone nuzzled Sarabi's cheek with his own nose, turning his head to the right and nuzzling the unscarred cheek of Sarabi's.
"I love you," Sarabi murmured, needing to tell Stone that. He just loved the way Stone always melted when he heard those words, and he could never get over the fact that he had the honor of calling Stone his husband.
One of Stone's hands settled on Sarabi's left hand, Stone's fingers gently caressing the wedding band on Sarabi's left ring finger. "I love you too," Stone responded, feeling at peace.
They both closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep, content that they were still alive, still married and retired. Because no matter how many flashbacks either of them got, they could deal with it.
Together.

at the start of rich readers and Sarabis relationship reader tried his best to buy Sarabi stuff™ but once he realizes that Sarabi isn't all that into it he tries to make something for him and of course he fails spectacularly so reader gets really sad and cue ugly crying and panicking that Sarabi might leave him (Sarabi is rich readers first genuine relationship so he really wants to prove himself to Sarabi) so in his panic reader just..... buys Sarabi a yacht. rich reader is literally on his knees begging Sarabi not to leave, promising to do better.
Sarabi is just like "I'm not going to leave you." He tries his best to reassure you, but he's not entirely sure about keeping that yacht. He appreciates it, don't get him wrong, it's just... What is he supposed to do with a yacht?
He kisses you until you stop crying and then asks if you two should throw a yacht party, since he now has a yacht. The other Lions are jumping at the chance to attend a yacht party, so it's just a bunch of Shadows in one place. Hopefully they don't ruin the beautiful yacht you bought him.

rich reader has a rich person laugh™ and everytime he laughs people can just feel how tiny their bank account is in comparison to reader.
reader continues his showing love through giving stuff and just buys Sarabi ridiculously expensive things "as a treat". reader buys Sarabi a beach mansion and is like "well it was the 7th aniversary of our first date i had to get you something"
reader buys the lions a jeep each and a trip to maldives as thanks for "keeping beloved safe"
Sarabi loves the gifts, he does, but he has no idea what he's supposed to do with a beach mansion. Is he supposed to throw a party? He doesn't have a lot of friends, just Stone, the other Lions, & Ladder. But he does appreciate that Nala's wife and daughters along with Simba's son can all come over and stay for a night because there's more bedrooms than his regular house.
Kali is apprehensive to accept the jeep and the trip to the Maldives, since he feels like he hasn't done that good of a job keeping Sarabi safe. Sure, he has kept Sarabi from getting harmed since Minerva, but that mission still haunts him. Previously he had guilt from when he thought he was the only Lion to survive that mission, but now he has guilt from being the only one who had come out of it without any scars.
Once Sarabi and the other Lions have said it's okay, that they don't blame him for their scars, he's very grateful for the jeep and the trip. He brings Stone to the Maldives, just so he can see Stone enjoy himself for once. (Definitely not so he can see Stone shirtless.)
Simba is very appreciative of both the jeep and the trip to the Maldives. He'll always have Sarabi's back, as it is with the other Lions, but it's nice to know someone appreciates their efforts. The jeep is a godsend in his eyes, since it allows him more trunk space for Ashton's soccer gear than his old sedan did. And the trip to the Maldives, well, just knowing that he can take Ashton to somewhere new and beautiful makes him very grateful.
Nala is also very appreciative of the jeep and the trip for almost the same reason. His girls will love to play in the sandy beaches of the Maldives and he can pay for a spa day with his wife, Madison, and him. The jeep is appreciated because he and Madison are thinking of having more kids, soon.
Sarabi does thank you for the gifts by giving you multiple kisses, all of your face, your hands, and your fingers. You treat him so well and he doesn't know what he did to deserve it.

rich reader be like:
*slips*
*puts ring on Sarabis finger and a black card into his pocket*
oopsie im just so clumsy today silly me anyway *proceeds as usual*
The way Sarabi would try and give you the black credit card back. Man is oblivious to the ring you put on his finger (not that he's opposed to being married to you anyways), he's just focused on the fact that you gave him a credit card. He doesn't want to seem like he's with you for the money, he loves you for you.
But if you insist on him keeping the credit card, he will. And he will only use it for groceries and origami paper. He's not a huge spender, more a frugal shopper than anything else.
Though Kali jokingly asks if it could be used to buy new military vehicles for The Lions.

rich reader who is a little (read: a lot) obssessed with Sarabi just straight up.... paying Kevin off to divorce him so reader can pursue beloved without any obstacles....
also if you hear that reader hired "handymen" to "fix" Kevin and he went missing no you didn't
Sarabi meeting Rich!Reader at a bar, Sarabi only wearing a balaclava so he can lift it up easily to drink. He was just drowning his sorrows, Kevin's letter replaying in his head.
Was he so unlovable that his own husband wanted him to stay legally dead? Did he not give Kevin enough attention for Kevin to fall in love with him?
You were sitting next to him and you could see the misery emanating off him. So you struck up a conversation with him, so calm and composed as you gently coaxed his feelings out of him.
He divulges in information he shouldn't be, how he was legally dead. How his husband didn't love him and only married him to appease his family. How he was being asked by said husband to stay legally dead so Kevin could be happy without him.
And you cooed at him, rubbing his large thigh with your hand as you told him it would all be okay. You spent the rest of the night cheering him up, making him laugh and watching the way he so cutely got flustered whenever you flirted with him.
Flash forward about a week and Commander Graves tells The Lions that Sarabi, Nala, and Simba's petition to repeal the legally dead status was approved. And despite his hesitance, Sarabi files for divorce and is pleasantly surprised when Kevin signs the divorce papers.
He celebrates being legally single and alive by going back to the bar he had met you at and you're surprisingly there (you may have bribed the bartender to text you whenever Sarabi comes or maybe you were just a regular at that bar). He preens at your attention, happy to finally be wanted.
He accepts your offer of taking him out on a date someday soon, so happy that he doesn't even know Kevin has disappeared off the grid.
