Our chef knocked it out of the park and the wines from Cos where incredible. The 2000 and 2008 along with the 2014 #PagodesDeCos were exceptional. The #ChampagneReybier was delightful and the white 2013 so delicate. Un très grand merci à Duclot Los Angeles, très classe ! Lets do it again !

Château Cos d'Estournel 1989 Caractère filigrane, subtile dans ce bouquet. J'y relève des nuances de truffes, d'origan, de feuilles de tabac, de café et de classiques marqueurs de St-Estèphe tels que cèdre et graphite. Le fruit est également présent au travers d'une touche de cassis. En bouche Cos est doté de tannins fermes mais bien intégrés. L'expression aromatique est bien soutenue par la structure acide et par une touche d'amertume qui appuie bien la finale. Cette dernière reflète les notes de terroir constatées au nez et est persistante. Un Cos en pleine forme qui a encore quelques années devant lui. It is always a treat to drink Bordeaux from the legendary 1982 vintage and the brilliant Cos d’Estournel from last Friday was no exception! . While an increasing number of 82 Bordeaux have been a little tired or past peak recently, this wine was more vibrant and youthful than expected. This well-preserved 38-year old seduced me with its beguiling aromatics before the first taste - red currant, spice, forest floor, earth, pencil lead and a hint of floral notes! The sensual attack continued on the palate with perfect proportions of acid, tannin and perfectly-aged, elegant fruit and culminated in a refined, long finish! Bernard Burstchy dira de ce vin « difficile de revenir sur terre » La dimension des Grands Bordeaux se retrouve en 2020 et ce n’est pas terminé ! . All my notes about the Saint-Estephe appellation are online on my blog, as my tasting notes (but only in French sorry). Here with 2020 of Chateau Cos d’Estournel which is for me a 100/100.
