eddie's just never known calm love before!! he himself expresses it very energetically and in-your-face, and you match it for him!! you're just as energetic and in his face because that's the love that he knows. but when you get steve eddie's so sad at first because he totally thinks the guy hates him or something!! like you said you just have to point out that steve loves quietly and calmly, and you bring up all the little things that show steve really does love and trust eddie (following him around, trusting him with the special blanket, resting his head on eddie's shoulder, cuddling into him during movie nights, etc) and eddie gets all giddy :(( i swear he lights up like a christmas tree and his tail starts wagging and he goes and smothers steve's quickly-reddening face with sweet little smooches :')

ugh yes the delivery men - the sound of the doorbell freaks steve out because it's abrupt and loud and he's gotten better at hearing it and calming down over time but eddie's on the alert now because steve's a bit shaky - will 100% try to make steve feel safe and that does mean making himself menacing/intimidating and the poor delivery man does not stay for long even though you're apologizing for eddie's threats 😭

TBIS IS SO SWEET :(( UGH yes robin brings her friend over 'cause she can't handle the two of them on their own they're too annoying so she drags you along and rants the entire way about how they're such losers and she hates them (She loves them so dearly) and when you get there they fall all over you!!!!!! offering you something to eat/drink two seconds in and fighting for a spot next to you on the couch that leaves robin on the floor like >:o you get a shiver down your spine and they immediately offer you one of their big fuzzy blankets off of their bed!! it smells sm like them and they wrap you in it so that you do too :')

omg them eating your meal :(( they seem to enjoy it so much that you give them leftovers and it's all they eat and they always text you like it was so good!! or even better the second time :) and they're so sweet :(( and yes footsie at the table wtf steve brushes his shoulder against yours all subtle like and eddie's literally kicking you (lightly) under the table the entire time 😭

yes they give you blankets to keep warm. yes they let you borrow their hoodies/pajamas/etc. but they also. keep you warm themselves. they offer themselves up before anything else, they snuggle up on either side of you and burrow their noses into your neck and squeeze you tight and then they put a blanket over the three of you. no honey why do you need steve's hoodie he's got it on you can just absorb his body heat.

You tell Puppy!Eddie he can eat whatever/whenever from the kitchen like a normal human. He's cautious at first but decides to test it and absolutely gorges himself to the point of being sick and whinesss while you pat his tummy. He doesn't do it again. But sometimes you still find food hidden under his pillow or behind the washer. A habit he hasn't broken from growing up having to scavenge and steal in his last homes. Its heart breaking but you just keep reminding him he can eat when he wants.

ohhh i think you're right :(( when he binges the very first time it's not even because he thinks it'll all get taken away or anything it's just because everything looks so good!! and he's theorizing that he hasn't had a good amount of food in a while so he's probably super hungry and can stomach a lot, right? no.

he doesn't quite realize that he has to start slow </33 so he ends up on the couch with a trash can next to his head that's laying in your lap as he grumbles and groans and whines about how much his stomach hurts :(( you tell him that you're not mad at him for eating what he did nor will you stop him if he tries to again but you will remind him that he shouldn't for his own personal comfort. you don't want to stop him in case he has a bad reaction to it, because you don't want him to think you're doing it to stop him from eating altogether, but you don't want him to be in so much pain again :') he definitely listens to you!! But yeah, you find snacks hidden in odd places :( it doesn’t bother you that he eats in his room, it bothers you that he thinks he has to eat in his room!! So you never confiscate them nor do you call him out on it but you do stock up extra heavy on his favorite snacks the next time you go grocery shopping and you watch his sweet puppy eyes shine when he sees your haul :(

Ok but. Cat hybrid Eddie who never purred before you finds himself accidentally waking himself from naps he’s purring so loud.
