I very much think that Dodd used to beat up both Rye and Bear as kids before Bear got stronger than him and was able to fight back. I think during one of these instances Bear really hurt Dodd and Dodd would steer clear of Bear for the most part from then on but still gone after Rye, probably more now since Bear wasn’t much of an option anymore but it would often end up with Bear stepping in to protect Rye anyway. I think it would get to the point where Rye would be afraid to be home with Dodd when Bear wasn’t around for a few years.

favorite thing about them: The fact that he's a better detective than any of the actual detectives. (Which isn't exactly difficult on this show, but still.)

least favorite thing about them: As with many Fargo characters... the killing.

random headcanon: He took over the Gerhardt compound after Season 2 and built the Fargo syndicate from there.

unpopular opinion: I really like the Tripoli reveal, because it fits with the idea that history repeats itself, nobody learns from the past, the cycle of violence continues, etc. PALINDROME.

song i associate with them: "Blame" by Bastille, particularly for Tripoli (Wrap your teeth around the pavement / 'Cause your body's a message, send my regards to hell)

favorite picture of them: I love how this moment is paralleled later when he strokes Constance's hair before killing her.
