i’m absolutely in awe of the way tdp chose to present mourning/death in sunfire culture as not this devastating event, but rather infused with lots of love and memory. the candle is in khessa’s favorite scent. they perform her favorite dance and sing songs she liked. janai and karim talk all night recalling memories of their childhood with khessa. karim says that although she’s gone, her light will shine with every dawn, that they’ll still feel her every day. janai raises her face to the sun, and karim sees her as queen. she quotes her love interest before walking outside under the sun

nope sorry i'm apparently angry. i can't believe they had one of the best examples of enemies to lovers and took the most importart arc of it out. the lovers arc, you know, what is SUPPOSED to redefine them as people because of their love. their beliefs. their preception of the world. the dismantling of DECADES of hatred. they threw it out. dozens of people have been complaining "janaya have been rushedd" for nearly 3 years now. a fan literally said they had a "jab" at the writers LAST comic con, to their faces, with rena in the room about this

amaya and janai were supposed to be one of if not *the* romance arc of s4. and i will say this is crappy handling of their only lesbian ship. they threw it away. it feels like a spat in the face when all i've been doing since s3 dropped was waiting for their romance. we deserved so much better
