How Leo got Fiat into bed (platonically) after throwing him out

- Once he got Fiat inside, he set about checking his knee and the rest of him for an injuries. This was done in silence and Fiat was still crying the entire time. Leo was wholly focused on his knee and body.

- After that, he got the ice for Fiat’s knee and sat down beside him to insure he stayed where he was and helped hold the ice on. This is when Fiat was finally starting to stop crying, though he was still obviously upset and pouting.

- Then Leo went into the kitchen and get food for Fiat. He brought it to him on the couch, sitting beside him and handing him the food. Still no talking, save maybe a question about comfort or if he’s thirsty. Absolutely no mentions of what happened.

- Fiat eats while wishing, more than anything, that Leo was feeding him. But Leo does wipe his face as he eats, careful to keep him neat between bites. And that’s enough, never enough, but it has to be enough for Fiat, doesn’t it?

- Leo wish he could do more, could gather Fiat up, could protect him. But all he can do is ask about his knee, offer more ice and, eventually, offer a cake to follow the small meal.

- Far too early for bed but with the food gone, Leo insists that Fiat takes a shower. Fiat does so without pause and waits for Leo on the bed while he takes his turn, tucked under the blanket and calmer than he’s been in a very long time.

- Leo joins him in the bed when he’s clean, the sun still up outside, but that doesn’t matter because the lights are off in the room and he has Fiat in his arms.

- They both sleep. They both sleep better than they have in a very long time.

- They’ll never say that, though.
