So, why do JR's interviews not make any sense when it comes to themes? lol. Last year he said s3's most powerful force or theme was "love". But he killed off almost everyones love interests and the AI plot had basically nothing to do with "love". He said clarkes arc in s4 was about "overcoming tribalism". But its been her trying to continue lexa's legacy until she abruptly decides to leave almost all grounders to die. Which is the opposite of "overcoming tribalism".

The first warning sign that T100 was going off the rails was when JFlop and the creative/writing team made Bellamy an unintelligent vessel for whatever convenient narrative they had in mind, which itself was distorted to force the ALIE 1.0 “reveal”.

So it’s no surprise to me that ongoing OOCness in service to plotting has continued. Really, Season 4 was simply one long dragged-out repeated series of half-assed raise-the-hope-spot then smash-the-hope-spot moments so they could get their apocalyptic cult bunker reveal (which itself is part of a bolted-on retcon in which Becca somehow had links with said cult. (-_-)
