gewis for actors in a romcom :) thank youuuu

send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons a short ficlet about it slightly inspired by the 'anyone but you' (2023) rumors. also i don't love how i ended this; maybe i'll build it out more. 🤔

everyone knew he admired lewis, hollywood’s most successful heartthrob. lewis was talented, attractive, funny, kind, and intelligent; what more can a person want? it shouldn’t be suprising, then, that george also had a massive crush on him.

he would like to think he was a pretty good actor, in spite of how few gigs he’s been able to land. there had been a few television episodes and a small film here and there, but it hadn’t been until this film, with lewis, that he felt like he made it.

this film was lewis’s baby. he was producing, he was starring in it, and he was directing it. every choice and every decision went through lewis. and lewis had wanted george to be his love interest, in this huge hollywood rom-com. that was the crazy part.

the first time george met lewis in person wasn’t until the table read. and anytime lewis looked at him or laughed, george melted into a puddle of infatuation and adoration. it only got worse once they started filming; thankfully, an eight-year-old george had taught himself to push down his blush.

the more george got to know lewis, the larger his crush got. the more lewis talked to him and spent time with him, the closer and closer this crush got to unrequited love. george knew, at the end of all this, when filming was finished and they were done with the publicity cycle, he was going to be heartbroken.

“hey, man,” lewis said. they had just finished filming for the day, the sun long past the horizon. “i know it’s late, but did you want to get a bite to eat?”

george was quick to agree, and they ended up at some over-the-top gastropub, the type that would pretend he and lewis were unnoticed. the drinks were fine, the food less so, but george didn’t think he had ever smiled or laughed this much. and lewis glowed, golden even in the shitty industrial lighting.

george was saying something, he doesn’t really remember what, when he noticed lewis just staring at him.

“what?” he asked. “do i have something on my face?”

lewis huffed, reached across the table, and gently cupped george’s face in his hand. and then he kissed him.

“oh,” george said. he felt his face heat up, bright red and burning; no amount of practice could hide this blush.

“yeah, oh,” lewis said. he leaned back in his chair, but moved his hand to rest over george’s on the table. george felt a bit unmoored, but the weight of lewis’s hand on his kept him from floating away. maybe, after all, george wouldn’t end up heartbroken.

wuthering heights - emily brontë (this book honestly altered my brain chemistry and i’ve never gotten over it. cathy and heathcliff......)

the picture of dorian gray - oscar wilde (it fills my brain with many many thoughts)

interview with the vampire - anne rice (this book in particular is such a potent look at grief and depression and self hatred while also being about love)

lolita - vladimir nabokov (beautifully written and fills you with a feeling i cant even fully describe)

captive prince - c. s. pacat (beautiful low fantasy dealing with grief, anger, csa/incest trauma, and being gay)

honorable mentions: housekeeping by marilynne robinson, the catcher in the rye by j. d. salinger, the bell jar by sylvia plath, the aeneid, the silmarillion, the heart of thomas by moto hagio

send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons a short ficlet about it possessive lewis is soooooo important to me. idk if i really hit the jealousy part, but i hope you enjoy this anon :D (also they fuck nasty after this btw)

the club is crowded and loud, bass pounding against george’s skull. trying to get from their table in the back to the bar has been awful, people bumping and pushing into him, trying not to trip on feet. when he gets to the bar, elbowing in between other patrons, trying to get the bartender’s attention, he notices the guy on his right checking him out.

“hey, beautiful, you come here often?” he asks. george glances at him quickly before trying to flag the bartender down again. the guy is tall, but not taller than george, bulky and sweaty under the bright, strobing lights; he’s not unattractive, per se, but george has no interest in anything he has to say.

“let me buy you a drink,” he continues. despite george angling himself completely away, the guy can’t seem to catch the hint, leaning closer. the bartender has finally acknowledged george, so he’s just hoping he can get their drinks quickly and go.

“no, thank you,” george says, polite but firm. he shifts a bit further away and is extremely grateful for the interruption of the bartender asking for his order. now all he has to do is hold on a few more moments for the drinks to be made.

again, the guy moves closer to george, forcing him to bump into the couple on his left side. george sends them a quick smile in apology, but he doesn’t know how much more obvious he can make his disinterest towards this guy. what, does he need a bright neon sign above his head, stating “not interested. please go away”?

right as the bartender passes the drinks across the bar top, george feels an arm snake around his waist and slip into his shirt. he’s ready to deck the guy, before he feels the comforting cool of lewis’s rings against his skin.

“is there a problem here?” he asks. george can hear the steel underlying lewis’s soft voice, cutting through the heavy bass despite not being all that loud. the guy, finally, gets the hint that george is decidedly not interested and leaves, and george slumps back against lewis.

“we’re leaving,” lewis says.

“what? but i just got alex his drink.”

“he’s fine. we’re going home.”

george can recognize the tone of lewis’s voice, the slight waver that betrays his anger. he knows how lewis gets when someone else touches what belongs to him. lewis is always deeply apologetic and embarrassed in the aftermath, but george likes belonging to lewis, he always has. and he can see how the rest of the night will play out pretty clearly, a future of vibrant bruises and bite marks on any bit of unblemished skin.

“alright,” george says, letting lewis drag him through the crowd towards the exit. he’s sure the rest of the group won’t mind having to close out his tab.

hi!! i've seen you post about the vampire chronicles recently and i was looking to start reading the whole series soon, so i wanted to ask, in what order would you recommend reading the books? thank you so much!!

hi! that's exciting to hear! the vampire chronicles and the characters are very dear to me :)

i would recommend starting with the first four in order:

-interview with the vampire -the vampire lestat -the queen of the damned -the tale of the body thief

after that, i think a lot of people just read in whatever order they are interested, tbh, since it gets a bit wild. i think if you're interested in specific characters and not really the plot, you could skip around, but it might get confusing. but if you want to follow a kind of coherent order:

(there is a separate series called The Lives of the Mayfair Witches (i'll notate this series as LoMF) which ends up crossing over with the vampire novels , so i'll include them if you are interested, though i haven't read them yet lmao)

-the witching hour (LoMF, i've seen some say you can read this after memnoch, but most people say this is better to read before it) -memnoch the devil -pandora (some crossover with LoMF) -the vampire armand -blood and gold (connects to the previous two listed because of the character marius playing a big role) -vittorio the vampire -(alternatively could read the witching hour here) -lasher (LoMF) -taltos (LoMF, BUT! most people have said this one SUCKS so u could skip lmao) -merrick (crossover) -blackwood farm (crossover) -blood canticle (crossover)

ok now that the messy part is over... sort of. blood canticle brings back lestat, but the rest of these are back to the typical vampire chronicles:

-prince lestat (you might want to read this earlier, since it's about lestat and there are sooo many books, but this is the technical order. i've seen some recommend this one after memnoch or after vittorio the vampire) -prince lestat and the realms of atlantis (it's contested whether this is good b/c it's fun, or if it sucks b/c it's weird LMAO but i think it's really just a personal taste thing) -blood communion

anne rice has also written several other series, one about werewolves, and the mummy/ramses the damned, and also a ton of christianity crisis books, and several other things under pseudonyms Anne Rampling and A. N. Roquelaure if you find that like her writing!

dean would get like an american traditional cherry that was definitely flash. and i can’t even tell you at what point in his life he’d get it cause i think i can see any version of dean walking into a tattoo shop and picking it out and thinking of making some joke later about it. Though, demon dean getting it would be even funnier

alternative answer maybe jack would also get like line art cherry, but just for fun and something to do and he always has the option to heal the tattoo so he just gets random ones all the time, so he like ate a really good cherry that day and went and got it tattooed
