Last few thoughts about Bioshock 2

- I like how Fontaine Futuristics was the most modern area still in use, almost sign of it being flooded (barring Alexander the Great’s area)

- I also liked how Dionysus Park was very clearly just flooded for 8 years, but this leads to strange questions like how all the bodies you can loot are pristine, not to mention how the audio files are all still in perfect working order for being underwater for 8+ years

- The last stretch of the game being in a prison makes sense, and it being a prison that can detach over an abyssal shelf is a nice touch

- That being said, I always found it strange the game scolds you if you kill Alexander the Great, but 10+ years later, despite the fact Gil requested you kill him, Alexander the Great is a different person by the time you get there, so I guess it’s morally questionable in that case? Either way, spared for the Savior trophy

- I really like how this game keeps the morality system but also adds in three more with named characters you can kill or spare, and then those actually also affect your ending, rather than something you’ve been doing all game, feels way more dynamic than the first game (And I also like how that reflects on Eleanor in that case)

- Final area of the game at least keeps pace by having the final area have some well paced out fights, and not a dumb fight with a giant Atlas statue, that being said since there’s no final boss that can kinda feel like a coput

- Summoning Eleanor to help with the final stretch and just wreck everything is a great pay-off both story and gameplay wise

- Seeing through the eyes of a Little Sister is also a really good escalation from the first game

- Gameplay in BS2 is just all around a ton more fun and interesting than the first, with each plasmid level getting some new trick, but the trade-off is that this gcan make the game extremely easy, some plasmids are just flatout busted before you combine them (Security Command just summoning a drone at level 2)

- Story though is? I dunno I think Sofia Lamb having an evil plot to put all thought into one individual is strange, I thought Bioshock 1 just having Andrew Ryan having no ulterior motive rather than protect his city was interesting enough, and Bioshock 2′s plot of just getting Eleanor back worked better before the pressing need to get her back was there

- That being said at the least I like how Sofia was a different flavor of awful compared to Ryan. (The evils of the individual is at least an interesting idea for an antagonist)

- Still had a lot of fun though, 9.1/10, just .1 higher than Bioshock 1

I’ll be playing Minerva’s Den next... after a break.

i could also go for the Platinum Trophy in both games but I’ll need something else in between those
