I'm in #caseyillinois today the small town with BIG things and apparently BIG #computerproblems 馃槀 A customer called saying that his kids computer would lock up as soon as they would log in to Windows but it starts up like it's fine. I've seen this before and Since it's inconvenient for him to come to me of course I'll come to you just one of the many perks of doing business with GEFNET. After looking at the computer as suspected the computer was getting locked up by background processes some #malware and other nefarious programs were running the CPU & disk activity at full throttle basically choking the system out. This job is unique. I do special request jobs for instance years ago a real estate developer had a program that ran on #Windows98 it did everything he wanted it to do and it did it well and he had a vast amount of data and all his records store in this program and he didn't want to use anything else. So he told me to make it work at any cost. And I did it of course wouldn't and doesn't get online so it just kept chugging along. Well this job is no different it's another special request not as extreme as the one mentioned above but this customer is using #Quicken 2005 for his accounting and bookkeeping and doesn't want to upgrade, of course I told him about the detrimental effects of not upgrading and tried to get him to upgrade but he was adamant about staying on 2005. The #computer crashed and that's why he brought it in and this computer is probably just as old as the software. So, as above unlike any other repair shop I'll try to do as he wishes and make this computer's sole purpose just to run this one program. Most would refuse to do this type of special request but that's why GEFNET stands out from the rest. I do what others won't and I solve problems that others can't. This #Laptop got a fresh copy of #Windows10 today and was set up and configured with everything the customer would need for everyday use. When I do a new factory reset I install security software (#malwarebytes) and maintenance programs (like #CCleaner) and other useful utilities so when the customer gets the computer back it's fully loaded and ready to go and not just a blank slate where they have to spend time installing a lot of common programs that everyone already installs anyway. When your customer knows how to show YOU appreciation that's how you know you're doing your job right 馃檹鉂わ笍 It's always nice to see a customer go out of the way to make you feel appreciated. This customer happened to see that I had pulled my last @mountaindew out of my office fridge and I joked and said yep the world is gonna end if I don't get it replenished (I'm all about the #MountainDew) well anyways we finished the job that she was there for and then the next day (today) she drops off two 12 packs of mountain dew 馃槀 "Just so the world 馃寧 wouldn't end" lol gotta love that. #ThankYou to all the customers that show their appreciation to your service workers it really does mean everything to us. #customersappreciation #customerrelationship #customerstories #appreciation (at Gefnet I.T.
