1. What’s something new that you tried in a gifset this year? How did it turn out? Oh, I tried a lot of things the last 12 months. New transitions, layouts, overlays, fonts... pretty much everything you can think of. Watching what other gifmakers are creating is always nice for inspiration. (@usergif is agreat source for that) I surprised myself sometimes with how good things turned out. And I had many gifs which just looked like sh*t and were never saved, let alone posted. Especially with colouring gifs I still struggle sometimes.

13. What gifset was the most satisfying to finish? (link)

Even tho I used a template (link in the original post) it was a lot of work fiddling around in Photoshop. Plus, I think I was able to include a lot of humour here. I was really pleased with the final result. I probably spent 15 - 20 hours on the entire set. Also, a set I wish had more notes...

20. What’s something you are expecting to gif in the upcoming year?

I hope to try out a lot of new techniques/ styles.

I am impatiently waiting for Miller's Girl, which hopefully has some sexy Martin scenes. 🥵And the 2nd season of The Responder.

I’m sorry to ask, but is something happening with the Arthur/Merlin family on tumbler? Each morning I wake up looking for the latest post. Recently, 1 of my most faithful daily sites just disappeared. The rest have reduced from several daily posts to once in a while. I joined someone called ArthurDaily who was posting daily, and they disappeared one week ago. Maybe I’m just too thirsty. Everyone has holidays/work/troubles/life, but I’m running out of options for my happy fix. Any suggestions?

And thank you for continuing to post beautiful images and stories.

We're an old fandom, there's no new content to generate lots of posts. Despite that, from time to time we flare up and the talented gifmakers, ficwriters, meme enjoyers and commenters come together to share our love for bbc merlin. Usually when a new film comes out with one of the lead actors, or there's some insane hellsite reason to make the tag trend.

There's not a lot of purely merlin blogs now, but I recommend following these people, their online presence makes me happy :3 (a few off the top of my head)

I'm not reporting any ones gif marks.. I made my own.. if I like some other blogger gif marks..I just normally reblogged their post.. if I repost some others gifs like you accuse me then you don't see any reblogged in blog.... !!!! Everyone can see in my blog that their is number of reblogged in my blog, and some one who report some others gifs don't reblogged!!!!!!

Anyways you spread hates i think that why tumbler made anonymous ask option.. And i think that's also your work to keep spreading shit!! Keep doing your fucking job , you aashole!!

They do seem to reblog mostly from the same blogs over and over.

oh yah, for def. it’s not that they’re following certain blogs just that certain blogs consistently produce rebloggable material in a timely manner. and while the show is huge, contemporary tumbler productive-fandom is not so much, and a lot of the BNFs shoot themselves in the foot with thirst captions or ship bents. there’s really only a handful of gifmakers who are good, consistent, and nonthirsty/pairing agnostic.

and artwise there’s like. not a lot? like in terms of gen art that is not just a character bust, there’s not much to choose from. and then within that group there’s even fewer people who interact with the show on an episode-by-episode basis, which is a big part of how the official tumblr does business. what i’m saying is if you wanna hit the ego-token lottery get started on art based on the next-time-on and either get it done within 24 hrs of it airing or focus on the ‘so here’s what you missed’ aspects and get it done within a week. most of the stuff that i’ve had the Official Sanction on has been episode-specific, they do throwbacks and vague T A R D I S  a e s t h e t i c s a decent amount but if you’re stumping for a show you’re gonna go with ‘so here’s why this episode was great’ over, like, the characters floating in a void. 20 great characters-in-a-void, one mediocre ‘this show is great watch it’, guess who’s getting fingered by the hand of god

Yes, of course. A couple actually. I usually put a little link ( "insp.") to the original gifset / tutorial when I do this. Credit where credit is due. It's a great way of learning new things.

I wouldn't call them requests. Sometimes I get a question like "Hey, have you ever done...?" (mostly by @colourfulwatson- and I love her for that. It inspired some great gifsets already: ( 1 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 ) ) And sometimes people actually ask for things... I still "owe" you the Sherlock version of this gifset. 😄(I never promised to make it, but it's still in the back of my head... somewhere...)

8. Were you inspired by a fellow gifmaker to make a gifset?

Yes, totally. I am not the most creative person on this planet, so I need inspiration. And I get inspiration by watching other peoples gifsets and by following tutorials. I never copy things, tho. I try to make it a bit my own style. Not sure how successful I am with that, tho. 😇

10. Did you have your gifs stolen this year?

Well, I watermark all my gifs. (I had a gif here on tumblr stolen once, like 12 years ago or so... and it had 80k+ notes, but since then I put this small little watermark on my gifs) I don't mind people using my gifs, I really don't. I don't care if you use them on other websites / social media. I am actually quite proud when I see a gif of mine show up on Twitter or somewhere else. 😃 I mean, they are easy to identify by the little watermark.

But yeah, seeing my gif cropped so the watermark does no longer appear on the gif... that's a total different matter. Gladly, this only happened once this year (as far as I am aware). (Link) I was really happy with all the support I got here on tumblr. 😍😍😍
