Hi! I’m not sure how tumblr works but all I know is it’s hard for all the whumpers to easily rec things so I started a subreddit called r/WhumpRecs to bring the whump community back together. I always have trouble finding recs so I was wondering if you could promote this on your blog so we can all have one place to post things! I understand if this isn’t something you want on your blog! Love your page btw!

Hi I was wondering if you could tell people about r/WhumpRecs on reddit so we can build a platform where we can all talk? Also I really need a new show to watch with hot young men whump, I’ve seen all the classics, any hidden gems you can suggest?

i’m gonna go out on a limb here, and say this is the same person? haha. first of alllll, my most sincere apologies for not responding sooner. yikes. i am not on Tumblr a lot for anything other than whump reblogs/research, so my messages get ignored / forgotten a lot. :P

secondly, i am not familiar with Reddit at all, but i would be more than happy to share about it here! :)

and i’m not sure what your definition of “classics” is (i was thinking Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis, The Flash, etc, so definitely watch those if you haven’t), but some of my “young, hot guy” favs are:

Max Evans in Roswell: New Mexico (The man whumps so well, plus has the brooding/angsty/sacrificial thing DOWN. Ugh.)

Stiles Stilinsk in Teen Wolf (Okay, hear me out. He starts out a little scrawny, but come Season 3? The guy is a hunk, and Dylan O’Brien is one of the greatest actors to ever grace my screen. INCREDIBLE. Plus, I think he’s hot. So. Ya know.)

Ty Borden in Heartland (Maybe he’s not “hot”, but he’s cute. And he has some pretty great whump/comfort scenes. Check out 2x18, 5x13, 10x16-10x17 especially.)

Steve McGarrett in H50 (Just... Steve gets beat up, injured, and shot so much, even I feel kinda bad for him. And I’m a whumper. Lol. Most people know about this one, but I can’t help but advertise a bit. It’s great.)

Alex Walker in Almost Paradise (This is a new show, and Christian Kane may not be your typical “hot” guy (hey, he’s cute!), but there is some pretty great whump in the 10 episodes we got. Especially 1x10. Whew.)

Nick Burkhardt in Grimm (I have a beef with the writers... they did not whump Nick nearly as much as they should have. But he’s definitely a hottie, and there are some pretty good gems hidden if you’re willing to dig a little. I’m working on a complete whump list for him right now, actually. ;))

Domestic McDanno - New Year’s Eve

[McDanno’s House, New Year’s Eve, Almost midnight]

Cool breeze from the ocean, clear sky filled with stars, another beautiful night in Hawaii. And for this special day that year, the team gathered at their boss(es) house and everything was going fine.

Junior walked with his phone in hand, couldn’t hear a thing inside the house, conversations and smiles going all around, and just when he was about to leave for the lanai, he was blocked.

“I’m sorry, the lanai is currently occupied. Try the bathroom or one of the rooms’‘, said Kono, stunningly dressed for the night and holding a glass of wine (’cause a mom of a two year old can have some fun from time to time).

Giving her a confused look, Junior looked over her shoulders and that’s when he saw it. “Oh. My bad”. Apologizing, he quickly retreated to another place because he knew Kono was right, and Junior wasn’t gonna be the one to interrupt them.

Taking another sip of her drink, Kono turned around, fond look on her face. There near the ocean, around all the lights arranged for the event, was Steve and Danny.

They were like on their default position when things were cozy and more private: Steve’s arm around Danny, and Danny’s head perfectly leaned on his shoulder.

She knew that in a few minutes the party was going to go outside anyway, but she would at least try to give them some time, because being honest, Kono also knew how hard this year was for those two, and letting them have some peace together is the least she can do there.

Smiling, she saw how her boss was stroking Danny’s arm up and down, and she was having a inner battle against her desire to grab the phone and take (another) picture of those two like that. She could only wonder what they could be talking there on front of that shinning ocean.

“I’m pretty sure it was more than fifty, Steven”, Danny replied again, like Steve was being stubborn about it. “No way, Danny. And car chases and raids don't count’‘.

Danny had the urge to give him a fake laugh, but no, that SEAL would just roll his eyes and give him another snarky comment, repeating the cycle both of them know very well, specially after years of being together.

“What? Car chases don’t count? You serious? ‘Cause every time I hold on so tight on those handles that I feel like I’m doing exercises there, I’m pretty sure we’re going twice the speed limit, and for that, I’d count in them too”.

Rolling his eyes, like Danny’s schedule said, Steve was still finding the whole conversation amusing even after all these years.

“Fine. So it’s like...a hundred time tops?”. Drinking again from his own beer, Steve kept his eyes in the beautiful view on his sight, his arm still holding Danny next to him.

Now it was the time for the fake laugh, which Danny did, and Steve can swear that the little scrunchy face when he smiled and the two-three tiny shakes from Danny’s head whenever he did that, was on his list of ‘Reasons to love Danny Williams’.

“Do you really think that you put my life on risk this whole year that passed, only a hundred times?”.This time Danny had to look up to that beautiful dork there. Those hazel eyes looking so green on that night.

“Danny, you’re a cop, some things are just normal day. And besides...’‘, Steve met those icy blue eyes there looking at him, and he gave one smile back at the blond, “I just deduced some from all the times I saved your life”.

Danny knew he still had something to say, or at least what was left on his brain knew. But it all went away when that gorgeous man smiled like that at him, and yeah, he would give some credits for that line too.

Instead of the usual, he also did the usual, which was to give a smile back, since his heart was flooded with love for that man.

“I love you, Danny Williams. And no matter how dangerous our jobs are, I’ll always do my best to protect you’‘.

Danny had to turn his whole body to Steve after that one, and with eyes still connected, he couldn’t help but pour some of the intense feelings inside.

“I love you too, Steve McGarrett. And I’ll always be your backup”.

The kiss followed those words, along arms all around each other. If felt like heaven, but of course they knew that after doing it so many times.

Resting his chin on top of that golden hair, Steve held Danny tight, grateful for another year filled with joy with Danny by his side. And Danny stood there with his face on that warm & cozy chest, feelings soaking him with happiness for having all of that.

“You know what? I’d love having another year like this, maybe less dangerous of course but, even with all the complains I know you would make anyway”. Kissing that head, Steve smiled at the rumble on his chest caused by Danny’s chuckle. He was eager for more, for anything that it was Danny.

“I’d also want another year with you, Babe”. Danny moved his body along Steve’s, a slow dance forming there. Stopping only when Danny made eye contact again with the love of his life, “With all your stubbornness and crazy ideas included, ‘cause I love you, even if some times you’re so full of s--”.

“Love, I think they’re talking about them and their love for each other’‘, Kono responded Tani’s question, in which Tani and also Jerry nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, they are just...so them at work, you know? That when outside it you just know they’re very lovely and have a lot of affection for each other”, Jerry added.

“I don’t know guys, I think they just go with the flow, being that mix that works great with them. I mean, once I saw those two arguing over Danny’s coffee order at the coffee shop, and then literally kissing it better in the matter of minutes”. Tani shrugged, before finishing her drink.

When they all turned back to the center of their conversation outside there in the lanai, what they saw was a confused Danny looking at them, while Steve was spotting a charming smile and giving them a little wave.

Those three there felt it was their cue to just scatter now. After all, it was almost the time for the fireworks show, and the team talking about one of their favorite couple in the world could be done again in another time, like they always did.
