As a teen I thought the whole "crush" thing was a joke. I played along because I thought it was hilarious - I would gossip with my friends about the cutest guys in our class, try to talk to them, etc, because it's a game, right? It's a fun thing teens do, isn't it? Then when it got real and my friends started dating I was like "wait what, this stuff actually *means* something to you????" (Then I had a whole crisis because I didn't get why relationships "clicked" for them and not for me lol.)
