2.0 Art and Bee

.00 Who are you even?

I am a very short girl, who enjoys drawing fandoms such as Harry Potter and The Legend of Zelda. As of now, I am 26 years old, and I work as a freelance artist and ESL teacher. I LOVE peach tea.

.01 Did you go to art school?

No. I am self-taught. I actually have masters in chemistry. I dropped out of my Chemistry PhD in my first year because I realised that science is not something I want to pursue in my life. I do not regret studying chemistry though - it was a very interesting and valuable experience. Would I have the chance to choose now though, I’d go study degree in Illustration.

.02 Who are your favourite artists?

Here are some that I often turn to for inspiration:

Mimimaru, Heikala, Mateusz Urbanowicz, Ladowska, Mehkuni, Devin Elle Kurtz, Marc Brunet and many others.

.03 How do you motivate yourself to draw every day?

I really make sure I draw what I enjoy. There are days I wake up and I do not feel like picking up my pen. When this happens, it is about time to turn back to studying. I go to my Morpho books, youtube tutorials and my favourite artists and I dedicate the day to anatomy studies, colour theory etc. That way I do feel accomplished although no illustration is done in the process.

.04 How to get out of art block?

Take a break. No seriously. If art frustrates you, it is time to put it down and take-a-well-deserved-break. I hit the wall 2-3 a year and usually, it comes after a big project or when I refuse to pace myself.

This relates to the previous questions, but when a time like this hits, I often restrict myself to no art for up to 3-5 days. Instead, I go back to passive studying - watching tutorials, watching an animated film, reading some books, playing video games for inspiration.

Sometimes it also helps to switch a medium. So for example I go from digital to traditional.

.05 What is you digital art process like?

I start with light gesture drawings followed by detailed soft lineart. Then I shade in black and white. When this is done, I turn the black and white sketch to red (using curves) and with multiply layers, I block in the basic colours. Then I create a normal layers and I begin to paint in all other details. I often finish the background first before I move on to the characters.

.06 Why don’t you do traditional anymore?

In 2020 I had to move to my parent’s house for 4 months while I was recovering from an illness. I had to leave all my traditional media in my flat in a completely different country. I only had my old iPad with me, which was the only way I could do art. I have been drawing digitally on my iPad since.

Once in a while, I still use the good old pencil and paper, but I found that digital painting gives me great creative freedom and helps me to visualise my light-up fantasy brain cells. hahaha

In general - I just enjoy digital painting more at the moment.

I still do oil painting once in a while tho!

3.0 USE OF MY ART

.01 Are you available for commissions?

.02 Why are your commissions so expensive?

I only charge for labour and the time spent on the commission. For a full-illustrated type of commission, I can spend up to 30 hours working on it, hence the high price.

.03 How long will your commission take?

I ask for my customers to count with 2-4 weeks from the date the payment is received. This is because often I have a couple of projects before I commence on your commission. I also count in any unexpected events such as an illness, my teaching job hurdles, art block, and inspiration dips.

valentina was born, a squib, to her mother, susanna. there were hopes for her to manifest the same magic as the rest of the family, but she was never able to. this led to a lot of internal turmoil and a difficult understanding of disability and what it meant for her.

she was exposed, at a young age, to mockery and bullying, something that led her to feeling ostracized from other wizard and wizard children her age growing up. instead, she began to retreat into herself, building walls of sarcasm and irony that kept her safe.

valentina maintains distance from most hogwarts students, finding them to be entitled and ignorant. most of the time, however, she is quick to assume they’re all the same, even before she’s ever talked to them. gossip does, indeed, spread fast in hogsmeade.

during the events of the harry potter series, she remains far from the battle-business. however, when hogwarts falls, she is used by the carrow twins as an example of how to properly “treat” squibs

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN

At 3:29 ET on August 30, 2021—early on the morning of August 31 in Afghanistan—the U.S. military mission in Afghanistan ended. It was the longest war in American history.

Among the last to come home were the 13 Americans killed in an ISIS-K attack last Thursday. They arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware Sunday morning from Germany. President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, and 8 aides attended the dignified transfer between the plane and a waiting vehicle.

In the last 17 days in Afghanistan, U.S. troops evacuated more than 120,000 people, making up the largest airlift in our history. For comparison, as Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post pointed out, the U.S. evacuated no Americans from the civil war in Yemen in 2015, and only about 167 from Libya in 2011.

While critics have suggested that America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan will hurt American credibility abroad, President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have called for combatting terrorism through financial sanctions, bombing, and drone strikes like the one they used to retaliate against ISIS-K for the attack on the Kabul airport that killed more than 160 Afghans and 13 Americans last Friday, and by strengthening democracy at home.

There is plenty of work to do on that last front.

Last week, Peter Wehner, who served in the Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush administrations, pointed out in The Atlantic that the right wing has moved to such extremism that former president Trump, whose behavior seemed so shocking in 2015 and 2016, is now being sidelined by lawmakers and pundits who are even more extreme.

Yesterday, in an event hosted by the Macon County Republican Party, Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) insisted that the January 6 rioters are “political hostages” and said he wanted to “bust them out.” When someone in the audience asked “When are you going to call us to Washington again?” he said, “We are actively working on that one…. We have a few plans in motion that I can’t make public right now.” He called for removing Biden from office under the 25th Amendment and added, “when Kamala Harris inevitably screws up, we will take them down, one at a time.” He concluded by saying: “The Second Amendment was not written so that we can go hunting or we can shoot sporting clays…. The Second Amendment was written so that we can fight against tyranny.”

Increasingly, right-wing agitators are calling for violent overthrow of the government.

Today in Pennsylvania, Steve Lynch, a candidate for Northampton County executive, said: “Forget going into these school boards with freaking data. You go into these school boards to remove them. I’m going in with 20 strong men and I’m gonna give them an option—they can leave or they can be removed.”

At a protest in Santa Monica yesterday before a vote on a mask mandate, a man held a sign with the names and home addresses of each Los Angeles City Council member and said protesters would go to the homes of anyone who voted for the mandate and, if it passed, “Civil War is coming! Get your guns!”

This sort of street-level violence is known for radicalizing individuals as they get swept up in it and then later embrace the larger political arguments behind it. It also forces more reasonable individuals out of government positions as they conclude that their position on a school board, for example, is not worth threats against their families and their lives.

Far from trying to tamp down this violence, right-wing leaders are egging it on. Tonight, on the Fox News Channel, personality Tucker Carlson told his audience that no leader had apologized for “these terrible decisions” in Afghanistan. “This can’t go on,” he said. “When leaders refuse to hold themselves accountable, over time, people revolt…. We need to change course immediately… or else the consequences will be awful.”

The images on the screen behind Carlson were of President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken, Defense Secretary Austin, and Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Milley. Carlson often tries to undermine the current leadership of the military, suggesting that he would welcome its replacement by officers he finds less objectionable.

Republican offense may be an attempt at defense.

Today, Representative Bennie Thompson (D-MS), chair of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, announced that the committee has demanded that 35 major communications companies preserve their records from April 1, 2020, to January 31, 2021, for people involved in the January 5 and January 6 rallies in Washington, D.C., or “potentially involved with discussions” about stopping the electoral vote count on January 6 or otherwise “potentially involved with discussions" in planning the January 6 insurrection. According to CNN, the companies affected include cell phone giants Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Sprint. Social media companies covered under the request include Apple, Google, Facebook, Signal, Slack, YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter.

CNN reports that members of the committee have requested preservation of the records of representatives Cawthorn, Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Jody Hice (R-GA), and Scott Perry (R-PA). They have also asked the companies to preserve the records of former president Trump; those of his children Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump; and those of his daughter-in-law Lara Trump and Don Jr.’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, who worked on the campaign.

Those determined to regain control of the country from the Democrats also have to contend with continuing good news from Biden’s policies. A new study from the Center on Poverty and Social Policy at Columbia University shows that the first child tax credit payment kept 3 million children from falling below the poverty line and that the child poverty rate dropped from 15.8% in June to 11.9% in July. Coronavirus relief measures kept another 3 million children from poverty. Families are using the money to buy food and pay off debt.

The administration is also coordinating aid to the states hit hard by Hurricane Ida, which brought up to 15 inches of rain to parts of Louisiana and knocked out the state’s power grid. The administration deployed more than 3,600 employees of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, who prepared more than 3.4 million meals, millions of liters of water, more than 35,700 tarps, and roughly 200 generators in the region before the storm hit. They have moved ambulances and search and rescue teams into the area and have opened shelters. The Army Corps of Engineers has mobilized personnel to remove debris and to provide temporary roofing and housing.

The administration is shifting its focus from unilateral military might to multilateral alliances to deal with common problems. Tomorrow, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry will leave for Asia, where he will meet with leaders from Japan and then China to bolster international cooperation on climate change before the meeting of the 2021 U.N Climate Change Conference in early November.

Comes from a very tight-knit family. Is the youngest, and the only of her siblings at Hogwarts since her brother graduated the year before. She has two older brothers and one older sister. All the kids were placed in different Hogwarts houses, which their parents thought was pretty amusing.

Used to go camping a lot as a child with her family, and though her siblings grew tired of it after a while, she was always looking forward to it. She loved feeling like one with nature, and adored both the flora and the fauna that surrounded her.

Excels at Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures because all things nature come, well, naturally to her.

Is always spending her free time outside, no matter the weather. It’s very important to her that Mother Nature knows she appreciates all seasons equally. However, she despises being cold if she’s indoors. Outside? It feels right. Inside? There’s something wrong.

Therefore, she wears tons of layers in winter. So much so, that it’s kind of ridiculous.

Is not the most talkative person ever, but if you get her started about something she’s passionate about (like preserving nature), good luck stopping her.

Very loyal and amiable.

Probably has a lot of friends, because I can’t imagine her not getting along with someone. Unless they disrespect nature, because in that case, they’re automatically an enemy in Abigail’s mind.

Thinks in English, but most of her dreams are in Spanish, and she’s perfectly fluent in both languages. Her mother’s Canadian and her father’s Chilean, and they met in France during an international wizarding conference. They decided to move to England because they couldn’t bear disappointing the other by not moving to their home, so they decided to compromise. Like, neither wanted the other to come with them, they wanted to go with the other. They’re adorable and couple goals af, to be honest.

Prefect! Is very responsible, with both feet planted firmly on the ground (which might explain why she hates flying or going on boats so much - she needs to touch the earth always). Gets generally good grades, but isn’t a genius or anything. She just works hard on school work.

A walking disaster.

Very lovable, though. I might be biased because I love her, but I believe she is truly easy to love.

Loves creating things. Will most likely end up with antlers at some point because she’s trying to invent a new spell or potion. Has yet to create anything successful, but she’ll be damned if she ever stops trying. Thing is, she wants to fix things. To make them better, and to make others happy.

Listen, I love this girl so damn much. She’s like a ray of sunshine with a tendency to accidentally blow things up, which she picked up from one of her dads. I mean, it’s not like he taught her how to blow things up, but like... Genetics? Maybe? Seamus is her biological father, as they used a surrogate for her to like, be birthed into existence, but she doesn’t see one of her fathers as more of her father than the other one. They’re her parents; she doesn’t care who she shares blood with. And she prefers not thinking about blood in general, actually, as it makes her feel queasy. Quite problematic considering the fact that she gets injured so easily, in fact.

Loves her family so damn much. Like, I don’t know what the birth order is, we’ll have to work that out, but will legit become the fight me emoji for any member of her family and/or anyone someone in her family loves. Which is quite funny considering the fact that she’s usually so sweet. But for her family? Anything.

Is very friendly, but can be a bit much for some people, so I picture her being friendly with everyone, but not necessarily having a lot of close friends as people sometimes need breaks from her. Which hurts her, to be honest, but she tries to keep that hidden.

The thing is, she’s been called annoying once, and though she hasn’t let it change the way she acts, she’s been really sensitive to the way people act around her ever since. Glances shared between others when she won’t stop talking lead to Aileen crying herself to sleep if she thinks too much about it, and she’s recently realized that she’s becoming more and more sensitive. She hides it really well behind smiles and loud laughter, though.

Like, legit.......... Plays Dungeons and Dragons with his muggleborn friends. Is most often the dungeon master because he loves coming up with stories.

Also loves coming up with theories and honestly loves studying and trying to figure things out between the lines. He’s just, like, really really curious. Intellectually and in general, really.

He’s really close to his family and his parents, but his favourite family member outside of close family is Luna. He knows she’s not like, blood family, but she’s his mother’s best friend, and he really admires her. He doesn’t necessarily believe in the things she does, but he finds it admirable that she believes in those things so deeply. He does believe in some things she says, though, and likes researching things related to what she’s been talking about. Like figuring out where those made-up creatures’ history might come from and things like that.

As far from angsty as can be, to be honest.

Loves loves LOVES hearing people’s various theories. Like, even if he doesn’t fully believe in something he hears, he finds it so fascinating to figure out why someone believes it that he finds it just as interesting as if he believed in it.

Started reading about muggle psychology lately and has been finding it fascinating. He thinks it’s interesting that it can easily be applied to the wix even though it was created by muggles, and highkey I picture him becoming a mind medic or something similar in the future. He loves figuring things out about people and helping people, and just!!!! He’d be so good at it.

Gets good grades, but not the best grades either. His best subjects are Arithmancy and History of Magic, and his worst is Potions.

New Harry Potter partnership basically admits it would take a magic trick for you to buy a OnePlus Watch

The OnePlus Watch is a weird product. Despite some excellent build quality, it's all but ruined by crappy proprietary software that manages to fall short in nearly every way. Nevertheless, OnePlus truly believes in its first-gen fitness smartwatch, making some genuinely titanic efforts in a bit to get people to buy one. The company previously released a Cyberpunk 2077-branded model in partnership with CD Projekt Red, and its latest announcement comes from a new team-up with none other than the boy who lived.

The latest limited edition OnePlus Watch promises to bring buyers a little closer to Hogwarts, with a unique embossed leather band that compliments the bronze-colored frame. It's not just changing the hardware, either — four new watch faces pair perfectly with each of the wizarding houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. With a custom-made box meant to resemble Platform 9 3/4, this is truly the perfect wearable for any die-hard Harry Potter fan. Assuming, of course, that you can ignore the fact that this is still a OnePlus Watch.

This release is the third limited-edition wearable from OnePlus we've seen hit the market. In addition to the previously mentioned Cyberpunk 2077 model, a special "cobalt" edition with sapphire glass and a new type of alloy hit virtual shelves shortly after launch. Neither did much to solve the faults of the original, beyond dressing it up in a pretty-looking costume. This model will likely follow suit, but it might serve as a neat gift for the Potterhead in your life.

As for availability, it's going up for sale in India for ₹16,999 (around $225) — a bit of a markup over the regular OnePlus Watch. Early access sales start Wednesday at 12:00 PM IST. There's no word on a potential release in other markets at the moment, but if a wider launch does follow suit, you can expect to pay a premium markup for all of that wizarding style

Donald Trump, the most petty president in history, delivered Joe Biden one more snub today, forcing him to charter his own plane to fly from Delaware to Washington D.C. instead of authorizing an Air Force jet.

The president-elect flew the short hop from his home state after a tear-stained speech eulogizing his dead son Beau on a converted Boeing 737 – then as he landed at Joint Base Andrews taxied past an idle Air Force Boeing 757 on the tarmac.

The snub was the latest in one-term Trump’s defiant refusal to acknowledge his successor.

In contrast the Obama administration sent an Air Force plane to New York for the Trumps in January 2017.

Just as the Biden family landed, the White House released a 20-minute farewell video from Trump, which did not mention his successor by name or congratulate him on his victory.

On Wednesday, the sore-loser Trumps will fly out of Washington without greeting the Bidens, with the president holding his own farewell ‘ceremony’ at Andrews before getting on Air Force One to his Mar-a-Lago estate.

In contrast, Biden set an emotional tone as he departed Delaware, crying as he spoke about his late son Beau, who died of cancer in 2015.

Biden recalled the 2009 inauguration day – and how important it was that a black man became president of the United States.

‘And here we are today – my family and I – about to return to Washington to meet a black woman, of south Asian descent, to be sworn in as president and vice president of the United States,’ Biden said, referring to his running mate, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

‘As I told Beau on that station waiting for Barack – and Hunter and Ashley – I said don’t tell me things can’t change,’ Biden continued.

‘They can and they do.’

He said this hopeful mentality was thanks to Delaware, a state he said had given his parents work when they needed it – his family left Scranton, PA, when he was 10 – and had helped him heal from the loss of his first wife Neila and baby daughter Naomi in a car crash in 1972.

‘That’s America. That’s Delaware. A place of hope and light and limitless possibilities,’ Biden said.

He asked the audience to excuse his emotion as he talked about his adopted home state, one that gave his parents ‘a home and a livelihood when they needed it most.’

And, he said, Delaware sent him as a ‘kid’ to the U.S. Senate.

Biden was elected at age 29 and sworn-in, as the Constitution permits, at age 30.

‘When I die, Delaware will be written on my heart and the hearts of all of the Bidens,’ he said.

‘We love you all, you’ve been there for us in the good and the bad, you never walked away,’ Biden continued.

‘And I am proud – proud, proud, proud to be a son of Delaware and I am even more proud to be standing here doing this from the Major Beau Biden facility.’

That’s when the president-elect wished his son would have been the Biden to make it to the White House.

Before his death, Beau Biden had encouraged his father to run for president in 2016, instead of letting Hillary Clinton become the heir to President Barack Obama’s legacy.

After Beau Biden died, Joe Biden sat out the 2016 race, which saw Clinton lose to Republican President Donald Trump.

Biden decided to run for president in 2020 after watching Trump handle the racial violence in Charlottesville in 2017.

Biden was introduced by Delaware’s Democratic Gov. John Carney, who said the president-elect was ‘born for this moment.’

‘I have one particular feeling that’s hard to describe and it’s one that so many Americans haven’t felt for so long,’ Carney said, explaining that that feeling was ‘hope.’

Carney also spoke of Beau Biden’s death, calling him Joe Biden’s ‘pride and joy.’ ‘And Delaware’s as well,’ Carney said.

‘He has picked himself up and brought us along with him,’ Carney said of the incoming president. ‘Now he stands ready to pull the country out of this morass out of the chaos and onto higher ground.’

At Wednesday’s swearing-in ceremony, Biden’s inaugural address will center on unifying the country in the post-Trump era.

Biden is expected to speak for between 20 and 30 minutes.

When Biden lands in Washington, he’ll arrive at a city filled with National Guard troops and military checkpoints, as the main downtown arteries and Capitol Hill are all blocked off on the heels of the January 6 insurrection attempt.

The National Mall, which usually hosts major crowd for the swearing-in, has been blocked off to the public, with a flag display taking the place of humans.

Biden will be joined by Harris for a 5:30 p.m. event at the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflection Pool to honor the lives lost in the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier Tuesday, the U.S. hit the dismal mark of 400,000 deaths from COVID-19.

Biden and Harris’ inauguration was always going to have a smaller human footprint because they’ve been strict about COVID-19 protocols.

But the MAGA mob’s siege made security even tighter.

While President Obama sent President-elect Trump an Air Force One-type jet for his family’s Washington arrival, Biden took a white and gray charter jet – a Boeing BBJ, based on the Boeing 737 – between Delaware and D.C.

As Biden’s white and gray private plane landed at Andrews, it passed one of the government planes used as Air Force One on the tarmac.

Trump’s refusal to send Biden a military jet was largely seen as a snub.

The president also refused to meet with Biden, a normal part of the transition.

First lady Melania Trump paid the same courtesy to Jill Biden, refusing to give her a tour of the residence, also a transition tradition.

The White House’s chief usher Timothy Harleth will greet the Bidens at the White House instead of the outgoing first family.

Even this week, The New York Times reported Monday, Trump was telling allies that he was the true winner of the election.

Trump will fly to West Palm Beach, Florida Wednesday and arrive there before noon, so he can fly onboard ‘Air Force One’ one final time.

The Air Force One label applies to the president’s plane, no matter what make or model.

But it is security that now defines the capital and the Capitol itself.

Twelve National Guardsmen have now been removed from the presidential inauguration security mission after they were found to have ties with right-wing militia groups or posted extremist views online, officials say.

The officials, a senior intelligence official and an Army official briefed on the matter, did not say which fringe group the Guard members belonged to or what unit they served in.

They did say, however, that here was no threat to Joe Biden.

Neither the National Guard or Secret Service would comment on the removal of the Guardsmen.

Their removal from the massive security presence at the nation’s capital comes as the FBI worked to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops headed to the area for Biden’s inauguration amid concerns of insider threats in the wake of the Capitol riots.

It comes after the National Guard chief, General Daniel Hokanson, said earlier on Tuesday that the 25,000 armed troops protecting DC were ‘trained and ready for anything’ and he wasn’t concerned about the potential for insider threat.

The National Guard said troops from all 50 states are supporting law enforcement for the inauguration.

Gen. Hokanson said the vetting of his troops was standard practice but was heightened given the large number of Guardsman brought in to fortify DC in the wake of the insurrection at Capitol by pro-Trump rioters.

In addition to the 25,000 National Guardsman, the Pentagon also authorized 750 active-duty troops with expertise in chemical, biological, nuclear, radiological and explosive weapons to provide additional security in the capital.

‘We’ve done a lot of work. We’re making sure that our folks are trained and ready for anything they’re going to be asked to do. Our folks are always trained in deescalation techniques,’ Gen Hokanson told NBC’s Today on Tuesday.

MANILA – Malacañang is urging the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to ensure the protection of the one-year-old child of Amanda Echanis, a suspected New People's Army (NPA) leader who was arrested in Baggao, Cagayan last Wednesday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque expressed hope that Echanis’ child would not suffer the same fate as River, the three-month-old daughter of detained activist Reina Mae Nasino.

River, who was separated from her mother after birth, died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome last Oct. 9.

“Well, sana po ay hindi na maulit iyan (I hope it won’t happen again). But I’m calling upon the DSWD to take steps to ensure that the welfare of the child will be protected,” he said in a press briefing from Palawan.

Roque, a lawyer, said it is the government’s mandate to provide due care to children.

“Hindi po kasi dahilan iyon na palibhasa may anak ka, hindi ka makukulong at hindi ka masa-subject sa proseso (Having a child does not exempt you from being detained or subjected to process). But it is always the rule that the government will take steps for the best interests of the child,” he added.

In a TV interview, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas said it was Amanda who insisted to bring her baby to the police station after she was arrested.

He, however, said social workers were present there to assist Amanda and her child.

Meanwhile, Sinas denied that the firearms and explosives seized during an operation that led to the arrest of Amanda were planted.

“’Yung sinabi nila na planting (of evidence) hindi po totoo yun kasi papaano ka mag-plant ng mga baril na ‘to mga bago, mga high-caliber mahirap po mag-plant noon sa bahay n’ya yun eh (What they claim as planting of evidence is not true because how would you be able to plant these new and high-caliber guns. It would be difficult to do that in her house),” he said.

Amanda is the daughter of Randall Echanis, Anakpawis chairperson and National Democratic Front of the Philippines peace consultant. The latter was shot and killed in an apartment in Quezon City last Aug.10.

She is the finance officer of the West Front-Komiteng Probinsya ng Cagayan (KOMPROB) of Cagayan Valley Regional Party Committee of the NPA operating in Cagayan, authorities said. (PNA)

Job Charnock’s Tomb:

After two years he died following which his son-in-law built a memorial in his honour where his tomb can be found in this church.

The Black Hole Monument:

This monument was built in the memory of the Black Hole tragedy. In the year 1756, Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah took 146 British prisoners and locked them in a room which measured 14 feet by 8 feet where 123 died out of heart attack and suffocation, only 23 could survive. Lady Canning Memorial:

She was the wife of the Governor General and Viceroy of India, Charles Canning. The tomb was built in her memory (1817–1861) in which her name was made immortal by a sweet maker, Bhim Nag who made Pantua, a type of sweet and named after her as Ladykeni.

Eden Gardens:

A cricket ground in Kolkata established in 1864. The second largest ground in India with a capacity of carrying 66,349 crowd. It is almost 156 years old. The Eden Garden was initially named before as ‘Auckland Circus Gardens’ which was built between Babughat and Fort William. Eden has hosted 15 World Cups of both men’s and women’s cricket.
