Trying out a gemstone theme for Huevember; here’s a canary yellow tourmaline for Day 1

(I also have a colored pencil drawing of the same type of stone, if a different cut, in the works; I am not remotely comfortable with the optical properties of the stones I used for reference images so in this painting I pretended the stone was opaque LOL. In the drawing I’m working on you can see through it a bit, though it remains to be seen how much visual sense my efforts to capture that see-through quality will make)

Huevember Day 24: Canary Yellow

Her color palette is supposed to be more of a dusty gray/brown with a bit of burgundy, so I attempted to put this odd color in as accents. Her eyes are also supposed to be much darker.
