Hi! I'm a huge fan of your blog, and I was thinking of making my own. I already have a separate meme blog, but I always wanted to share my WoF as humans art on here, since there are a lot of great artists in this fandom on tumblr- do you have any tips? Should I even try it? I'm also a little worried about people disagreeing with my how I imagine the characters. I guess I just want to do this for fun, but I'm scared it might end up toxic...
I say you should 100% go for it!!
For one, I love seeing all the different human interpretations of the characters (i may or may not scour the internet for inspiration on a regular basis), so I cannot wait to see yours as well! It’s just so cool how creative people can get, especially since it’s only based on the characters’ personalities—there are endless possibilities for character designs!
And that segues into my second point: Since we’re essentially pulling character designs out of thin air, there are no wrong answers! Everybody can have different interpretations, and that’s totally fine. I will be frank—the internet can be quite opinionated! I have my fair share of critics, and I have definitely felt the pressure to bend my character designs accordingly. However, think of it this way: for each person who hates your design choice, there is somebody who’s a huge fan of it! Ergo, it’s completely up to you whether or not you want to take a given suggestion into consideration.
Some final tips before I go:
Don’t be afraid to play around, be bold, and let your characters evolve. If you’re planning on making this a long-term thing, I can almost guarantee that your designs will see some big changes!
Be open to constructive criticism, but don’t take it personally! Suggestions from your audience can be a great opportunity for growth, but it can sometimes feel like a personal failure or attack, especially if you’re a sensitive person (like me!). I recommend taking a deep breath, and coming back later with an objective lense and a reasonably sized grain of salt. Always respond with cordiality, and be kind to yourself as well. If you’re ever being harassed, the block/delete/report buttons are your friends!
Remember to rest! It can be exciting to start a new blog, or to dive into your passion for art, but your mental and physical health must always come first. Make sure that you regularly log off, put down that pen, and grab a glass of water. Also, don’t feel bad about putting your other obligations and schedules ahead of your blog!
Overall, starting a blog for your character designs can be a very rewarding experience, and I highly recommend it! Speaking from personal experience, this blog has motivated me to practice drawing, introduced me to great artists, and brought a lot of joy into my life. In regards to your worries about toxicity, simply block out any bullies you meet, because they are not worth your attention or time.
If any of this has convinced you to start your blog, please let me know! I look forward to seeing it!

| Jade Mountain Boarding School | Wings of Fire High School AU | Prologue
Moon was a gifted child growing up, at least that’s what everyone around her called her.
She thought it was just an excuse to hide her then undiagnosed autism.
She was diagnosed when she was in sixth grade and ever since she’s received what she would consider “undeserved sympathy”.
Why did everyone act like she was diagnosed with a life threatening disease? It was just autism.
Her being a “gifted kid” was just another way of teachers saying she was smart.
Smarter than other students.
Then one day she was dragged into the principals office in February of eighth grade.
The principal told her that they submitted some of her work as an application to a specialty school and it got accepted.
The school that she was accepted to was a boarding school on the other side of the country.
She went home and told her mom who already knew in advance and said it was a good idea to go so she could meet more people like her.
And now there she was, in the car driving to the airport.

Chapter 2: Turtle
Turtle was sitting in the library, like he usually does when he doesn’t know where to go.
They’ve always been a kind of quiet kid, not one of those ones you see on the internet who does bad in school and wishes horrifically violent things on everybody.
He was just quiet, introverted, did good in school, and never talked to anyone besides the times his roommate need a small favour.
Thankfully their roommate was never extroverted.
Blue was fairly quiet too, and would spend most of his time in his older sister’s dorm room, which Turtle didn’t mind.
In the few times Blue’s sister came to their dorm, she has managed to talk to Turtle more than Blue has to him.
He never really saw the point of being social, all they needed in his life were his stories and characters.
They are a believer in fictional characters being better than people.
The library was his home pretty much, a mostly quiet place filled with other book nerds, aka, people who would never talk to him.
It was perfect.
Turtle was rereading his favourite book series for the millionth time, as usual, and then he heard a loud voice.
“HI! WHAT ARE YOU READING?” A happy looking short girl asked, with another slightly taller but still short girl behind her.
“JUST MY FAVOURITE BOOK NOTHING SPECIAL!” They stammered quickly.
God, why do I have to be like this.
The girl grabbed the book out of his hands and looked through the first page.
“WOAH! This is very interesting! Hold on, let me give you my number, you HAVE to text me more about this! Is this your own copy? Does the library have a copy? I would love to read this! What’s your name? My name is Kinkajou! This is my friend Moon, she’s my second favourite person now because NO ONE can beat my foster mom because SHE IS THE SWEETEST PERSON TO EVER EXIST!” She says all at once, kind of impressive.
“My name is uh Turtle.”
“OH I’VE HEARD ABOUT YOU! YOU ARE MY FOSTER MOMS BEST FRIENDS BROTHER! THAT IS SO COOL! FRIENDS REALLY DO FORM FROM RELATIONS TO PARENTS ISNT THAT INSANE? WE ARE GOING TO BE BEST FRIENDS I JUST KNOW IT!”
Turtle could tell this girl was very optimistic of him.
They couldn’t understand why though, Turtle was just turtle while this girl had a personality that just shined right through her.
“Okay..?”
“I apologize for her, she tends to be a little extroverted.” Moon (if he remembered correctly) piped in from behind her.
“OH COME ON MOON! I’M JUST STRIKING A LITTLE CONVERSATION!”
“It’s fine…” He said.
“WHAT GRADE ARE YOU IN? I JUST STARTED HERE, SO I’M IN NINTH GRADE! ISN’T THAT COOL? I THINK BEING IN NINTH GRADE IS COOL!”
“I’m in tenth…”
“WOAH! SO YOU’RE OLD!”
Turtle didn’t know how to feel about that comment.
“Um, alright then?”
“Give me your phone! I told you I would give you my number!”
Turtle reluctantly handed his phone to Kinkajou.
Kinkajou began typing quickly.
“Alrighty! Number is thereeee! We’ve gotta go now because it is questions and answers game o’ clock! She doesn’t know that but I’M MAKING HER PLAY A GAME!”
“Honestly I should’ve expected that from you.” Moon facepalmed.
“We’ll see you around green boy!” Kinkajou said and then walked away.
Turtle waved goodbye.
Green boy. They thought.
