I’ve already created an AU that centers around the DoD so I thought that having one with the Winglet as the main characters would be interesting!

Winter was the sort of character I didn’t really care about until much later. I read his book and to be honest wasn’t that thrilled.

Initially icewings were my favorite tribe from the get go but I was always disappointed at how their society was treated. Their queen did die to some disease after. So in this alternative universe the roles are reversed and thanks to their immunity achieved by their cold body temperature and blue blood they are left as the defacto tribe that can combat the crisis head on with the least risks.

Initially the icewings are uninvolved as the ice wall isolated them, but as Blaze the possible queen of the sandwings begs Glacier to help as the Scorpion den is overrun they become heroes. Multiple icewings volunteer for the extermination squadrons outside the wall to raise their ranks and Winter as mentioned joins the. To find his brother who was taken pre outbreak. His more than just status based motivation actually makes him an exceptional fighter.

The relative peace with the nightwings is not achieved by an animus spell but rather by them having to ally with them as they try to find a way to combat the virus as the nightwings are the second most equipped to take on the disease on thanks to the bacteria in their saliva giving them resistance. Icewings preserve samples in ice breath and bring it to a hub where nightwing led research into how to formulate a cure is done. Sandwings are also heavily involved in the effort, or at least those who reside in Smolder’s stronghold, as they are knowledgeable of poisons that may aid in creating a cure.

so this took a while longer than usual because I got sidetracked and decided to so something that didn’t actually mesh with what I was requested to draw(Winter as Toshiro) and I realized to late I didn’t have to do this at all-
