Continuing on with the same prompt, I chose one of my favourite polyships for Servamp to write about, Sakuya/Reader/Mahiru! I hope all my Servamp fans will enjoy!
Who’s the cuddler?
Sakuya cuddles while he’s sleeping. He’s affectionate but not clingy while he’s awake but it’s like the second he falls asleep, all his thoughts and inhibitions switch off and he just about smothers his bedmates because he will press as close to them as possible, his arms holding them and those long legs either wrapped around the others or all intertwined with the others.
Who makes the bed?
Mahiru does a lot of the house chores. He appreciates help with them, but not from Sakuya who is frankly terrible at domestic chores. Mahiru though…Mahiru is great at them and genuinely enjoys doing chores, so he doesn’t mind making the bed. It just feels better to climb into a bed that’s all made up and looks nice at the end of the day, in his opinion.
Who wakes up first?
Mahiru wakes up first or at the same time as you and he enjoys those first quiet moments in bed, just watching you and Sakuya sleep peacefully. It starts his day off in an amazing way. Sakuya sleeps in a bit but, just saying, he definitely is the one falling asleep last because he stays up to watch you and Mahiru fall asleep, almost cherishes those moments of watching the two of you sleep and likes knowing before he goes to sleep that the three of you are all safe, happy, and secure.
Who has the weird taste in music?
Sakuya, given that’s he’s lived longer than both you and Mahiru, has developed an eclectic taste in music. He’s lived through some amazing music scenes and his taste in music is very varied and all over the place because he’s got music from different genres and decades that he adores and listens to often.
Who is more protective?
Mahiru is protective but almost in a motherly way. He’s a little bossy and naggy at points but he only gets that way out of an urge to see you happy, safe, and living your best life. Sakuya isn’t protective…or let me clarify. Protective isn’t the word for what Sakuya is. The correct word is possessive. Not in the way of completely isolating you or Mahiru, though he wouldn’t honestly mind too much if it could be just the three of you forever. He won’t try to change either you or Mahiru either because he thinks both of you are perfect just as you are…it’s just that both of you became his. He needs to know all your guys’ secrets, all your friends, where you are, who you’re with. He’s not above low-key stalking the both of you. He will sneak into yours and Mahiru’s phones and emails and subtly eavesdrop on conversations. He just really needs to know what is going on in your lives because it makes him feel both secure in the relationship and lets him be sure that both of you are safe. And, quite honestly, there is a slow painful death in store for anyone who would hurt either of you, in any way, if Sakuya can and is allowed to accomplish it.
Who sings in the shower?
It would have to be you. Sakuya showers quickly; to tell an embarrassing secret of his, he watched the movie Psycho once and the shower scene traumatized him so much that showers are just in and out as quick as possible because that scene is kind of in the back of his mind every time he goes to shower. Mahiru just doesn’t sing in the shower – he takes longer showers but it’s quiet time for him and really the time he uses to deep dive into his thoughts and what’s going on in his life.
Who cries during movies?
Unless you do, it’s nobody. I will say though, on the subject of movies…Sakuya will not watch anything with outright bullying or abuse towards children. He will stand up and walk out of the room and it will immediately sour his mood.
Who spends the most while out shopping?
It’s a tie between either you or Sakuya. Mahiru is really smart with his money while Sakuya has a tendency to impulse buy whenever he sees something really cool.
Who kisses more roughly?
It switches actually. Mahiru was rougher at first but that’s just because he’s very inexperienced romantically. He was an awkward, nervous kisser and it took him a while to learn to kiss without bruising your lips or almost eating your face. He does get better though! Sakuya’s kisses are normally gentle and sweet, with passion always just under the surface. When he gets in one of his moods though, they become rough and needy and dominating.
Who is more dominant?
It’s Sakuya. Mahiru can be dominant but again, it’s almost in a sort of parental way (and yes, I do low-key headcanon him discovering he has a kink for being called Daddy). He’s mostly a switch though, to be honest. Sakuya though…there’s very little submissiveness there and he’s pretty dominant, albeit subtly so, both in and out of the bedroom.
My rating of the ship from 1-10?
Putting aside all reality of the way I view the characters, it would be a 9/10 for me. Thinking realistically about the relationship dynamics and the way I view the characters, it drops to a 3/10 just because there’s no denying that Sakuya is quite yandere and a relationship with him realistically speaking would be toxic as fuck.

All I Wanted
pairing:  Stu Macher x reader x Billy Loomis
summary: you’ve been with stu for awhile now and it’s a dream. your relationship is everything you’ve ever wanted... until you realize his best friend, billy, is in love with him. worse than that stu might be in love with him too.
Tumblr media
You didn’t realize it all at once. However you’d imagined the way someone would act in a relationship while being madly in love with someone else wasn’t the way Stu acted. He’d been the one to ask you out, and it was sudden. He went from being a friend of a friend - someone you nodded to in passing at parties - to a constant presence overnight. That was just the way Stu did things, all at once or not at all. You had been wary of his newfound position as your personal satellite. It was overwhelming, frankly. But there was only so long you could keep up your polite attempts at distance and rejection. Like a determined, yapping dog he chased after you until you had no choice but to hear him out, if only to get some peace and quiet.
It started as one date, just so you could say you’d given him a fair chance. Then you went on another date, because the first date had actually been fun. Eventually you stopped keeping track of how many dates you let Stu drag you on. His personality didn’t change, he was still a little brash and loud. A party animal that could wear out even other energetic extroverts... but you discovered there was more to him than the way he acted in large group hangouts or wild ragers. He softened when it was just the two of you. Like a talented actor that takes a deep breathe once they’re off stage, done playing a draining character for an eager and judgmental audience.
That shift, however slight it was, was the thing that won you over. The reason why you kept saying yes to dates, laughed when he tossed you onto his shoulder, let him pull you into his lap with little more than a bashful smile. It was the reason why, after a few months of this gentle drifting around one another, you asked him, “are we... together together?” And it was the reason why you smiled so wide he couldn’t give you a proper kiss when he said yes.
Being with Stu was a bit of a package deal in that you also got his best friend Billy through sheer proximity. At first you didn’t really talk to each other. After your relationship with Stu became official it felt weird to not talk to one another, considering how much you saw each other. Billy was not like Stu. He became a person in your life gradually. Your relationship growing from half-assed greetings from Billy and awkward waves from you; to asking each other about your respective weekends; to studying together for shared classes; to talking adamantly about movies; to saying hello with hugs and smiles; to hanging out with one another even if Stu wasn’t around- which was rare but made you smile nonetheless as Billy was a man who kept his circle small, to say the least.
Around the same time that you realize that you’re in love with Stu you also realize you aren’t the only one. You’d like to think of yourself as an observant person but even a blind man could see the way Billy looked at Stu. You were actually embarrassed that you hadn’t seen it in the first place. The way he searched for Stu whenever he entered a room. The way he’d stifle smirks at (terrible) jokes he’d reach out and hit the blond for. The way Billy never shrugged Stu off whenever he'd inevitably drape his body over Billy’s in some -  obnoxious - way. The way he let Stu talk through his favorite scenes in movies without telling him to shut up... usually. You noticed all these little things, your gut twisting a little with each observation.
You found yourself looking up at Stu during a movie night, watching the TV throw neon color against his face instead of the TV itself, and the understanding that you loved him washed over you warmly and easily. The feeling was a sharp contrast to the screams of the character on the screen being brutally murdered. Your eyes just happened to drift away from your boyfriend’s face to behind him, where Billy was sitting. He too was watching Stu instead of the movie. You’d seen the look on his face plenty, though you hadn’t seen it on his face in particular before. Or maybe you had, you thought to yourself, lead settling in your stomach and throat, you just hadn’t known it. Hadn’t wanted to know.
If there was anything Billy was good at it was keeping his feelings close to his chest, never revealing his cards. You made eye contact for just a moment before he hastily looked away but it was enough. You knew without a doubt, in that one moment of vulnerability that one of Billy’s secrets was that he was in love with Stu.
You let the new knowledge settle in your mind for a long while. Kept watching their interactions, but with a new understanding. Which is how you came to an even worst conclusion. That Stu was in love with Billy too.
If you’d felt blind before you didn’t know what you were now. It was so obvious. Stu couldn’t keep a secret for the life of him. He chased after Billy the way he chased after you. Hungry for the slightest bit of attention or acknowledgement, lighting up like the sun when it was given. It would’ve made you smile if it didn’t break your heart.
You didn’t realize you’d come to a decision until you’d already begun the actions to support it. Distancing yourself. Cancelling dates. Shying away from a hug, and then a kiss, and then nearly everything. Not picking up calls or returning texts. You believed firmly in communication in a relationship up until this point but you didn’t know how to say I can’t watch you be in love with someone else when I’m so in love with you I don’t know what to do with myself. You didn’t know what bad rom-com to watch that would help you figure out the right words to tell him so you didn’t tell him anything at all.
You don’t know why you thought someone as stubborn as Stu would just accept the slow detangling of your lives that you were trying to achieve.
“What’s going on?” He asked without hesitation, ambushing you outside of your last class of the day. You sighed and dragged him to the classroom next door that was open but thankfully empty.
Leaning against the teacher’s desk you buried your head in your hands, throat already tight and eyes already stinging. “I think we should break-up.”
“What?” You didn’t have to look up to know the crestfallen face he was making, he was always so expressive you could hear it perfectly in his voice alone.
“I want to breakup.” You repeated, willing your voice not to break.
“Why? What did I do wrong? I’m sorry - whatever I did I swear I’m sorry,” you felt a hand on you then, trying to pry yours away from your face, trying to drag you into his arms and you flung yourself out of his reach. In doing so you caught a glimpse at his face and your chest went tight. He looked seconds away from begging and you knew you couldn’t withstand that. Knew it would break your heart more than it was already broken and you didn’t know how that could be. Didn’t know how the ache in your chest could get worse but you could feel it already. “Baby please let’s just talk about this-”
“I have to go. I have to go, I have to go-” You shoved past him to leave the room and ignored his cries for you to come back, slow down, please come back -
You sat in your car, head against the steering wheel for a long time before you drove home. You wanted to wait until you stopped crying to drive.
You didn't have to turn off your phone. It rang so much that eventually the battery died and you didn't even have to get out of bed. You laid there still for hours, not sure you were feeling anything at all until you heard your window sliding open. You scrambled for the light on your nightstand, switching it on in a panic only to deflate when you saw it was only Billy crawling through your window.
He looked absolutely livid.
“Hi Billy,” you managed, even though you didn’t want to see anyone right now. Especially not either of the boys.
“What the fuck?” He spat.
“I’m doing wonderfully thank you for asking. How are you?”
“Don’t be cute you know why I’m here.” He stalked across your room and loomed over your bedside, clutching the headboard so hard his knuckles were white. You looked at his hands for a long moment and then up at his face, so close to yours you were breathing the same air.
“Sorry. Sit down with me please.” You patted the space beside you and waited for him to give in despite his anger. Eventually he climbed onto your bed, with his shoes on but you didn’t scold him like you usually would considering the circumstances.
“I broke up with Stu, as you know,” you started.
“Is that what you’re calling that bullshit you pulled?”
You sat for a long moment, gathering your thoughts. You didn’t want this conversation to last for long. Just seeing Billy and having to think more on your unfortunate love life was like digging your fingers into a festering wound.
“Do you want to know why?” Before he could answer you continued, “You’re in love with him and he’s in love with you and I can’t get in the way of that.”
Silence settled in the room, oppressive. You weren’t uncomfortable though. You allowed it to be quiet for a moment, letting your words sink in. “You’re in love with each other and I’m not mad at either of you. How could I be? I’m the one who came into your relationship. Before me it was just the two of you.”
“But just because I’m not mad doesn’t mean I can hang around and watch you two want each other so...so much,” your voice breaks and there’s the all-too familiar pressure behind your eyes that you can’t help, “it’s too much for me, Billy, and it’s not fair. Not to any of us.”
You move so that you’re no longer sitting beside him, but in front of him, and you take his hand and clutch it between your own. You’re surprised you’re not met with resistance. His face is carefully blank but you think you might’ve shocked him. You’re not sure with what. The fact that you know he’s in love with Stu, the fact that Stu is in love with him too, or maybe he hadn’t even known he was in love with Stu. You think it’d be easy to be in love with someone for so long you don’t even know it’s love. It just becomes your default state, that love.
“I want you two to be happy together. I mean that. Don’t pretend you don’t love him and don’t doubt that he loves you. He does, Billy. I promise he does. You should see the way he looks at you.” You smile sadly at him and squeeze his hand. He looks down at your hand and his grip tightens ever so slightly.
“I’m stepping aside because it’s the right thing to do. God knows how long you’ve been in love with each other.”
“He loves you.” He finally gets out. The words sound punched out of him.
“Maybe,” you shrug, “But if he does it’s not as much as he loves you. Can’t be. You’re his best friend and his.... well, we’ve only been together a few months. Not even a year yet. That’s nothing compared to the two of you.”
“But you love him.” A simple statement but it makes you clench your teeth together so hard it hurts.
“I do and I also love you. It wouldn’t feel right... to stay with him and keep him away from you. Or keep him from having who he really wants.”
You look at each other for a long while and when you can’t stand it anymore and your tears finally start to fall you throw yourself forward and hug him as tight as you can. You think it’ll be the last time you hug him. Maybe the last time you’ll see him, other than in passing. And you do love him, even though this moment hurts and it might hurt for a long time. Some things and people are more important than hurting. Than getting the things you want, no matter how bad you may want them.
He slowly wraps his arms around you and then all at once he hugs you back just as tightly. You stay hugging one another for a long time and when you pull away he slides off your bed and leaves out through your window without another word.
You lay back down in your bed and don’t go to sleep.
It’s a week until you see them both again. A week of forcing yourself to leave the house as you still have school and work and other life obligations, broken heart not withstanding.
Despite the fact that you go to the same campus and share a few classes you hope against hope that you might avoid them for awhile. You resign yourself to knowing that you’ll have to see them again at some point, of course, but you tell yourself it doesn’t have to be that bad. It will be between classes. In passing at parties. At favorite shared eateries. Nothing you wouldn’t be able to handle with a polite wave or tense smile. You wouldn’t even have to say hello, they’d understand. And as strange as it may seem you hope that when you do eventually see them around you’ll see them together. Holding hands. Smiling at one another. Maybe sharing a kiss. As much as it would hurt it would also warm you. Let you know that the pain you were feeling did them some good. Two of your most important people. That they were happy together could be enough for you, more than enough.
(You hoped that the longer you repeated that mantra the more true it would become.)
They drag you into a classroom. The same one you dragged Stu into the day you broke up with him. You have to laugh at the poetry of it even as you instantly feel like drooping in on yourself at having to see them so soon. You were just walking past absentmindedly when a hand wrapped around your bicep and yanked you through the doorway. You knew at the touch alone that it was Billy.
You forced yourself to not look as empty as you felt and instead, with herculean effort, you settle on trying to look fed up, “Really?”
“You wouldn’t pick up our calls.”
“You haven’t even tried to call me!” You protest.
“There wouldn’t have been a point. Your stubborn ass wouldn’t have picked up.” Billy smirks and you’re very much about to address that statement when arms wrap around your middle and pull you back snugly into a warm chest.
You shut your eyes tight, feeling pained at the familiar embrace and stifle a wounded noise. Just barely. In the quiet of the room it’s still audible and it makes you feel pathetic. “Please let me go, Stu.”
You want to sound firm but you just sound like you’re begging, seconds away from crying.
“No,” He says simply although his voice is heavy with an emotion you can’t place, “You’d make a mad dash for the door and we’d actually like to manage to talk to you.”
“Will you let me go if I promise not to run?” You bargain, wanting him to stop touching you so it will be easier to forget the feeling.
You feel the sigh he lets out but he releases you begrudgingly and you step further away from him, not turning around to look at him. This puts you further into Billy’s space, who had apparently moved closer but you mind that proximity far less.
“What would you like to talk about?”
With a gentle but firm grip you’re turned around to face Stu and you feel breathless looking up at his face and seeing how softly he’s looking down at you. It’s an expression he’s made before but so much more intense it makes you freeze up. He let’s go of your waist to hold your face with both hands, making sure you can’t look away from him.
“I do love Billy,” you close your eyes, wondering why he’s telling you that when you know, god do you know but he shakes your head gently and chides you, “hey no -  don’t do that. Look at me and let me finish, babe. Okay?”
He waits for you to nod before he keeps talking, “But I love you too - and I don’t love you less, either. I might love you different but not less, and I’m sorry that I ever let you think that. Sorry that I made you feel like... like you had to-”
“I didn’t feel like I had to do anything. I wanted to leave. I want you two together. I want you happy.” You interrupt.
Billy steps further into your space, and it feels like there’s a moment of hesitation, and then he’s wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you backwards into his hold, “You’re not listening.”
“You make me happy. You make me so happy and I’m so in love with you it’s ridiculous. When you were avoiding me. When you stopped talking to me and started to shut me out I felt like I was going fucking crazy.” The way he looks at you makes you believe him and you feel guilty for the way you’d gone about things. You wish you’d ripped off the band-aid instead of peeling it off.
“I don’t want you to step aside. I don’t want you playing the martyr and being alone.” Stu says firmly, more serious than you’ve ever seen him. There’s a set to his jaw that’s alien and an intensity behind his eyes you’ve only ever seen small glimpses of. You feel so seen by his gaze you start to squirm.
“But you love each other. You deserve-” You argue.
“We love you, too.” Billy interrupts before his lips find the space behind your ear and kisses it gently, making your brain short circuit.
“What?”
“You heard him - we love you too. As much as we love each other.” Stu says, voice for the first time sounding happy, normal, teasing.
“But- “ You sound weaker now, you don’t want to argue this. There’s a hopeful thing rising up in your chest that you try to ruthlessly shove down. But Stu is looking at you like you hung the moon and Billy is wrapped around you like you might slip away any moment and he’s trying to convince you to stay just by holding you.
And suddenly for the first time since that last movie night you’re thinking about what you want again and... and you want Stu so much it hurts; and you want Billy too, who, now that you’re thinking about it, you might also be in love with. Just a little.
(You would have fought anyone else for Stu, friendship status or knowing him longer be damned. Because you love him, you love Stu in a way you’d never thought you could love someone. But you love Billy too. Love Billy enough to step aside. Love them both enough to let them have each other. Love them both enough to be alone just so they can be together.)
“We want to be with you,” Billy says, “I want to be with you. I’ve never had... no one has ever done something for me like what you did. No one but Stu has ever given that much of a damn about whether or not I’m happy, and I love you. ” With that he grabs your hair and moves your face out of Stu’s grip, tilts your head back far enough until he can place his lips over yours.
You melt into the kiss faster than you’d like. Even as you do that- enjoying the way Billy’s kiss doesn’t let you hesitate or give you a second to breathe-  you find yourself reaching forward blindly until you grip onto Stu and tug him closer to the both of you. When the front of his body is plastered to the front of your own, his hands moving to grip your hips tightly you moan into Billy’s mouth and Stu laughs and it sounds relieved and like he might cry. You reach down to cover one of his hands with your own and squeeze. He buries his face in the side of your neck and sighs happily.
When Billy pulls away your lips are tingling and the kiss was so filled with a simmering heat you don’t even say something snarky enough to wipe the smirk off his face. It’s sweeter than his usual smirk anyway and you chase after his lips just to drag the bottom one with a playful bite. He takes a sharp breath and his hand tightens in your hair.
“Three musketeers, how about it Y/N?” Stu says from where he places open mouthed kisses in all the places he knows make you shiver.
“Yes.” You laugh and maybe start to cry but they’re both there to hold you and wipe away your tears.
You’re not crying because you’re sad. You’re crying because you’re overwhelmed at the fact that you’re getting all you’ve ever wanted.

The Risk - Part 5
Genre: Fighter!AU
Pairing: Park Seo Joon x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: Disgustingly cute fluff and also one curse word
Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 | Words: 2,935
Tumblr media
Over the next year, Seo Joon made (basically) good on his promise not to ever get punched during a fight. He had gotten kicked a couple of times, but after you had appeared in front of him with very raised, very angry eyebrows, he had reminded you that you’d only made him promise not to get punched.
You hadn’t said anything about getting kicked.
So, obviously, you had made him amend his promise right then and there.
He trained incredibly hard during that year, working especially on his reflexes to make sure you wouldn’t ever have to see him get hit -- punched or kicked.
Before meeting you, he had already trained hard and had an uncanny ability to stay focused on his goals and work until he achieved them. But after meeting you, after hearing just how much you disliked watching him get hurt, he stepped up his game.
In the span of that year, Seo Joon fought in six other matches (not including the match he won the night he officially asked you to be his girlfriend), and he only got hit somewhat badly once. But that had been in his abdomen, not his face, so you had been a bit easier to console.
Also in the span of that year, Seo Joon had done his best to make you fall in love with him, though that was both unknowingly done and took way less than a year. It had only taken three months, in fact.
After the first month of your relationship, Seo Joon had waited for you outside of your class, just like he had on the day you’d first kissed in the garden. But this time, he was holding a rather large bouquet of flowers, all different kinds but all the same color -- your favorite color.
When you’d opened the door of the building and seen him there, your cheeks had immediately turned beet red. The friend you’d been walking with had smirked wildly and poked your side, teasing you about the tall, handsome stranger waiting for you with flowers.
“What are these for?” you’d asked shyly once you’d approached him, a bashful grin curving your lips.
“You have been my girlfriend for exactly one month,” Seo Joon had replied, unable to keep himself from smiling down at you as you brought the bouquet up to your nose. “I thought you deserved some flowers, at least.”
Your response had been, “You didn’t have to buy me flowers.” But those had just been your words. Your smile had been far too wide and, frankly, cheesy for you to actually think that.
So, Seo Joon had done the same thing after month two. He waited for you outside of your class holding a bouquet of flowers, this one even larger and more beautiful than the last. Other students had noticed him, and he’d even heard someone wonder out loud if he was Park Seo Joon, the MMA fighter.
He’d tried not to react or even look in the person’s direction because this was about you -- not him. If someone came up to him to ask for an autograph or a picture... he might actually refuse. You still didn’t care if it happened when the two of you were together; in fact, you encouraged it because his fans were a big reason he had been able to make a career out of what he loved to do.
But anyway. Back to our scene.
The second you’d seen him standing there again, holding yet another embarrassingly big bouquet, you’d bit your lip and speed-walked over to him.
“What are you doing here?” you’d asked as a smile had formed on your lips. You’d immediately slid your arms around his middle and stood on your toes to greet him with a quick kiss.
Before Seo Joon had the chance to answer your question, a loud catcall whistle filled the air. You’d whipped your head around and cried out to the friend you’d been walking with every time he’d come here.
“I’m so sorry,” you’d chuckled after turning back around to face him, your cheeks incredibly pink.
He truly wasn’t sure when you looked more adorable than you did when you were embarrassed -- happily embarrassed, that is. Not embarrassed like ‘I want to crawl into a hole in the ground and stay there forever’ kind of embarrassed.
“I know I should buy you flowers more,” he had told you as he’d handed you the bouquet. “And not just on special occasions. But today, it’s officially been two months since you said you would be my girlfriend.”
You’d smirked and shot him a playfully quizzical look. “I don’t think two months really qualifies as a special occasion.”
“It does when you’re my girlfriend,” he’d murmured before placing a quick kiss on the tip of your nose.
And since you had been so embarrassed -- and since you’d pointed out that a monthly anniversary wasn’t actually an anniversary -- he’d done it again on the third month.
But... this time... it would be a special occasion.
Seo Joon zipped up his jacket before reaching over and grabbing the bouquet, hoping the frigid air outside didn’t nip at the petals as he stood to wait for you.
His breath blew soft, puffy clouds in front of him as he walked to the building he’d become all too familiar with over the last three months, and he checked his watch to make sure he wasn’t running late.
Today was not only the three-month mark of your relationship, but it was also the last day of your final exams for the semester -- hence the special occasion thing. He had thought about taking you out to dinner, ordering your favorite dessert, maybe some wine? But then he’d decided he should probably let you choose. You were the one who had been studying and taking tests for the last month, so he would cater to your every whim tonight.
(Let’s be real though: he catered to your whim every night. Seo Joon was definitely one of those boyfriends. He practically worshipped the ground you walked on. 🤷‍♂️)
Just as he came to stand in his usual spot, the front door to the building swung open. He heard a handful of students let out a relieved sigh, chattering about how glad they were the final -- and semester -- was finally over.
His brow furrowed softly, but before he could start worrying too much about you, he spotted you walking out the door. You quickly said goodbye to your friend before hitching your bag over your shoulder and heading toward him.
A tired but still very happy smile played at your lips, and you let out a soft sigh as you snaked your arms around him. You slid them underneath his jacket, pressing your cheek to his chest as you tried to steal his warmth.
“How did your test go?” he murmured, holding onto you with his free arm and rubbing your back soothingly.
“Fine,” you sighed. “It’s over, so that’s all that matters.”
He placed a kiss on the top of your head, and he expected you to pull away then... but you didn’t. So he didn’t.
And then after at least a minute, he asked, “You’re not going to ask me what I’m doing here? Or what the flowers are for?”
You let out a negative hum, shaking your head just the tiniest bit before you snuggled against his chest even more. “I don’t care today, I’m just happy to see you,” you muttered.
A smile played at Seo Joon’s lips, and he squeezed you once before moving to turn you and start heading toward his car. “How about we go do something? To celebrate?”
“Sure,” you replied quietly, sticking to his side as the two of you ambled down the sidewalk.
“Anything you want,” he announced with a squeeze of your shoulders. “Dinner, movie, shopping...”
Seo Joon heard a soft sigh escape your lips, and then you said, “Can we go back to your place? Order takeout and just relax?”
“If that’s what you want to do, then that’s what we’ll do,” he replied.
You stopped walking then, tilting your head up and raising your eyebrows at him.
“Well, right now, I want a kiss,” you told him.
A smile quirked at Seo Joon’s lips, and he bent down to grant your request without a moment’s hesitation.
“And I want my flowers,” you added, reaching over and taking the bouquet from him. “Thank you for them, they’re so beautiful.”
“You know why I got them, right?” he asked quietly.
“Besides the fact I finished all my exams?”
“In addition to,” he confirmed.
“I’m guessing... it’s been three months?”
Seo Joon moved to kiss you again as a reward for being so smart, and you smiled against his lips.
“Are you really going to bring me flowers at school every single month?” you asked with a note of amusement in your voice. “You really don’t have to.”
“I know I don’t have to,” Seo Joon replied. “But I want to. I want to make sure you know how I feel about you. How important you are to me.”
“But then what do I do?” you asked as Seo Joon reached into his pocket to get his car keys ready.
“What do you mean?”
“To show you how I feel about you and how important you are to me? I haven’t done anything,” you pointed out with a slightly pouty lower lip.
“Now that is not true,” Seo Joon countered. “You came to my match.”
“But that was three months ago!”
“So? You coming to one match is definitely equal to me bringing you flowers multiple times,” he said. And then, because he knew you would try to argue again, he added, “I’m a guy. Guys don’t need to be reminded as much because just the fact a girl is still with us is enough. Every day when you wake up and decide you still want to be my girlfriend is how you show me I’m important to you.”
Just as the two of you approached his car, right before you broke off so you could each get into your respective seats, you paused. You quirked a brow up at him.
“Did you even know you were this romantic?” you asked with a barely hidden smirk.
“No,” he answered, chuckling softly and shaking his head. “Only for you.”
“How did I get so lucky?” you mused.
“I ask myself the same question all the time,” Seo Joon whispered before he gave you one more kiss.
About fifteen minutes later, Seo Joon dialed the number of the nearest Chinese takeout restaurant while you put your flowers in a vase in his kitchen. And, yes, you’d had to buy a vase for his apartment because he hadn’t previously owned one. Is that surprising?
As he ordered way too much food over the phone, he watched as you stepped out of your shoes, shuffled over to his couch, and flopped down onto it, practically face-planting into the cushions with a soft groan.
Once the restaurant employee supplied him with the total and said it would be delivered in about half an hour, Seo Joon set his phone on the counter and went over to join you.
“I think my brain is on its last leg,” you told him as he carefully slid onto the couch to lie down next to you.
“No Scrabble tonight, then,” he murmured, fitting himself behind you and sliding an arm over your waist.
“No,” you chuckled. You instantly settled into his hold, letting out a very content sigh as he pressed a kiss to the back of your shoulder. “All I want right now are cuddles.”
“Then cuddles you shall get.” As if he hadn’t planned to do that already. 😉😏 “We have a full half-hour before the food is delivered.”
“Only a half-hour? No, I was thinking more like cuddling all night,” you replied.
“Ooh, all night,” Seo Joon smirked, nuzzling your neck and nipping your skin there. “I like the sound of that.”
You let him press lazy kisses along your neck and shoulder for a few moments, and then you asked in a quiet voice, “Can I? Stay over?”
He knew you were nervous because, while you’d been to his apartment countless times by this point, you’d never actually spent the night. But for him? He’d been waiting for you to bring it up for weeks now. He hadn’t wanted to push you by asking you himself, but he would’ve let you stay at his place practically from the very beginning. Not for that reason, but just because he liked having you around. He imagined seeing you when he fell asleep and again when he woke up would just be... heaven.
“Of course, you can,” he murmured, his lips brushing over your skin. “You’re welcome to stay over any time you want.”
You turned around in his arms, a fairly giddy smile on your lips before you pressed the tip of your nose to his. “How very accommodating you are.”
“Hey now,” he began in the sternest tone he could muster. “I’m not this way with just anyone. Don’t go around telling everyone you see they can come and stay at my place.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” you giggled. “You really think I’d want to share you? Absolutely not.”
Your words made Seo Joon’s heart flutter more than he would ever care to admit out loud, even to you. “Good,” he grinned. “I don’t want to share you either.”
You let out another giggle before tilting your head, pressing your lips to his over and over again.
“Can I tell you something?” he asked in-between kisses.
“Mhm,” you hummed. You kissed him one more time before settling back, allowing him to look at your face as he spoke.
“I’m really proud of you,” he said, his voice soft but filled with earnest adoration. “You’ve worked really hard, at school and at work, and I just want you to know that I’m proud of you.”
“Well, thank you,” you replied with a very bashful grin. “I’m proud of you, too.”
Seo Joon smiled over at you, bringing one hand up and tracing over your cheek with his thumb. He searched your face, taking in every single feature, every single inch of you he could see...
He had planned to say this tonight, yes, but he hadn’t quite worked out the logistics. He hadn’t been sure if he’d wanted to make some grand gesture or something, but... right now, just lying here on the couch with you, he knew this was the right time.
“Can I tell you something else?” he asked again, his voice even softer this time.
“Yes, of course,” you chuckled gently.
He looked into your eyes for a few moments, and just before it felt like you were going to urge him to say whatever it was he wanted to say... he said it.
“I love you.”
Your eyes widened, and before he knew it, your lips were on his.
“I love you, too,” you murmured, still kissing him.
And, good grief, if Seo Joon had ever been happier, he sure couldn’t remember when it had been.
“So...” he began, plastering a very angelic smile on his face. “Does that mean you’ll come to my match this weekend?”
He had told you he loved you because he meant it, yes, but... it was also the best way he could think of to invite you to the fight in a couple of days. There hadn’t been one since the one and only match you’d gone to, but he knew you weren’t looking forward to them.
“Seo Joon,” you scolded once you pulled away from him. “Of course, I’ll be there! I told you I would. I won’t like it, and I’ll be anxious the whole time, but I’m still going.”
And you did go -- to that match and to the six other matches Seo Joon had during the first year of your relationship. You didn’t like it, and you were anxious the whole time, but you still went, just like you said you would.
As I mentioned earlier, Seo Joon only got a hit a couple of times during all seven of those matches. He had trained harder than ever to make sure he didn’t have to worry you, and, if he was being honest, the opponents he’d faced hadn’t been much of a challenge.
Overall, that year had been pretty excellent. One of -- if not the -- best of Seo Joon’s life so far. His career was still at its peak. His relationship was stronger than ever. He fell in love with you more each day, and he knew without a doubt that you were The One he was meant to be with forever.
Truly, he felt like he was on top of the world. Like nothing could go wrong.
He should’ve known better.
As soon as he saw his manager’s name on his phone screen, he should have known. There was no way he could have known, but after hearing it, it felt like it was so obvious. Like it had just been waiting in the wings for him. Inevitable.
“Hey,” Jang Ho greeted tersely. Not his usual tone of voice.
“What’s up?” Seo Joon asked.
“I just got the schedule for your next match.”
“Yeah? When is it?”
“It’s next month,” he told him. “And... you’re fighting Martinez.”
...Oh, fuck.
Martinez.
The only fighter Seo Joon had ever lost to.

I’ve translated Sexy Zone’s interview in the latest issue of TVnavi SMILE! As it is my first translation project and I’m still learning Japanese, there are bound to be some inaccuracies and mistakes. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this interview! I had a lot of fun translating it and look forward to posting more of my translations.

Sexy Zone has released their single ‘Gyutto’, the theme song for the drama ‘Wagahai no Heya de Aru’ starring Kikuchi Fuma. From these five people with sharp feelings and senses, we received their confessions and views on their work and motivations.
Q. What was a recent moment where you felt warm or healed?
Marius: I was healed when I watched the news about the pandas at Ueno Zoo. But because I was watching it for a while, I guess I felt somewhat sorry for them. Later at a big retail store, I bought about four cheap and soft cushions. Because they were so fluffy and I put them on top of the sofa, I felt so comfortable even by myself. I thought about watching my favorite drama and while I was watching, I didn’t realize that I fell asleep. When I noticed it was something like 2 AM in the morning, I said ‘Oh no, I have to brush my teeth’. I was troubled because it was too comfortable (lol).
Shori: Because I’m a little embarrassed about being healed, I honestly do not want to say much as a guy (lol). Well, I guess it’s the parakeet I own named ‘Ki’. Because she’s lonely, if I take her out of the bird cage, she goes on my shoulder and always follows me. It didn’t feel like I worked hard to tame her, since the beginning she follows me. Well, I’m certainly healed (lol).
Sou: When I work with Marius, I feel warm and healed. Even if Marius doesn’t concentrate and I get a little irritated, I still fawn over him and feel that he’s cute and I forgive everything (lol). When I say things like ‘Marius is cute today, too~’, he cutely replies with ‘Sou-chan, thank you~’. Because this kind of thing seems like Marius, even if he’s becoming more and more of an adult, I want this Marius as he is now always.
Fuma: We went to an elementary school to record the PV for our new song ‘Gyutto’, and there were notices for the PV screening telling fathers, mothers, and friends to ‘Please come and see it’. When I picked up one such notice, a child had written ‘If you can, please come and see it.’ I was almost crying because of such kindness. When I was 4 years old, it was such an ordinary feeling for my parents to come see me (lol). Because I saw that as I’m now becoming an adult, I thought it was a caring and kind child and it healed me.
Kento: I went to see an original animated American movie, but, ah….is it okay if I only talk about movies? Anyways…I was healed by the cuteness of the leading actress (lol)! She is a princess who grew up on an island with only women, but one day, she meets a lost pilot who changes her life. When the two of them are about to kiss, the scene is zoomed out. Somehow, this becomes more effective than directly showing the kiss. I don’t know why, but I was strangely healed.
Q. What is something you’ve received recently that motivated you?
Shori: I guess it’s Mr. Children’s single ‘himawari’. The songs are awesome, and I watched a documentary that comes with the CD. It shows how Sakurai (Kazutoshi) san makes songs, and things like how the members of Mr. Children produce those songs and thus their production process is followed. I’ve always liked Mr. Children. I somehow thought Sakurai-san was the center of the group, but in reality, all four members work together. They would say, ‘Okay, let’s try changing the drums a little bit’, and the instruments are changed. Then the bass is also slightly changed to match the rhythm, and the small details are steadily adjusted by the four members. All the members of the band become able to derive one sound. Because that was the first time I became aware of this, it was fun and I learned a lot.
Sou: If it’s other than Johnny’s, I watch overseas artists’ performances that I think would be good to draw motivation from. Right now, I’m watching overseas dramas. People from overseas, and Marius too, their gestures are amazing. It’s because of their expressive ability. If it’s in a drama it will be exaggerated, but because on stage you’re asked for it, when I watch overseas performances I think I can make some use of the stage.
Marius: The other day when I went to Harajuku for shopping, a huge crowd of people were lined up to buy a brand’s collaboration bag. It felt like you couldn’t go through the road at all. Although it’s an incredibly popular brand, the more I think about it, everyone wanted that one bag, and I thought it was amazing that hundreds of people were lined up. The power that “thing” has is enough to attract everyone into making them believe they like it. I am not a “thing”, but I’d like to think I have that kind of charm. And Sexy Zone also. I feel that I do my own shopping after deciding the basics. I go shopping slowly, but if I have no time, I look at a store’s stock in advance and buy things only by fitting the size.
Kento: The other day, I cried in a movie theater after a long time. Originally, I wanted to watch a film by Tsukikawa Sho, who was the same director as ‘Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai’, and by chance my friend recommended it to me, saying “It was good so you should go see it”. The heroine’s indescribable idol feeling contrasted with the main hero’s real feeling. Already then, the main hero’s feeling of emptiness is really painful….my heart was pained. I still have not been able to meet the director, but I want to tell him soon that it was awesome!!!
Fuma: I was motivated by Eito-niisan’s (Kanjani 8) live performance. 50 minutes after the opening, I was surprised that it become an all-band performance. They really didn’t move from the stage, and because I like bands it was cool. When I want to see them, they made a mistake, but then the members laughed after. They said, “Sorry, sorry, let’s try one more time!”, and then decided to completely start over from the beginning. I got goosebumps from wondering if there was ever a living feeling like this seen in Johnny’s live performances so far. The feeling of the members and the fans was also really nice. After that, they came out with completely sparkling costumes as if it was the opening once more. The non-moving band was intense, and it seemed that the audience was getting really excited because a part of them was kept in suspense.
Q. What is something you’ve learned in a recent work?
Shori: As expected it’s my ‘Summer Paradise’ live performance. It was hard for me to make, so I learned a lot. Since I had been making the original draft since May while on tour with Sexy Zone, I wondered if it was possible to complete it. Creating a live performance is sometimes fun or painful, but either way it’s normal to have both feelings. I think that in work it’s also basic.
Sou: In specific terms, although it’s difficult, it’s more fun to do something with goals in mind so I become aware that I’m trying to create tasks one by one and clear them. For example, on a variety show communication is important, so first you remember the names of the performers, and then you speak on your own accord, and if you act frankly it becomes easier to speak on the show. In that case, it would be good if I can get a chance to do this. Since I already know the position of where I stand in the group, it’s a question as to how I can make use of it and respond to myself. But if I go overboard in trying to be funny, it becomes a type that’s not funny at all (lol). I normally try to challenge myself as much as possible, and when the members pick up on it at an irrelevant time, I guess it becomes something like flowers blooming (lol)?
Marius: I saw Shori-kun’s Summer Paradise concert and his balance was amazing and easy to see. I didn’t get tired like at an ordinary concert, and I felt refreshed while watching it. Every segment flowed with the selected songs, making a concert where it’s easy to see the direction of its course. Unlike I imagined, I became really energetic. For our concerts also, I discussed how to skillfully combine my ideas with Sou-chan’s and I learned a lot.
Q. What are you learning on set of your movie ‘Miseinen Dake Kodomo Janai’?
Kento: Director Hanabusa’s stance on set is truly amazing. I’m learning a lot from him, or perhaps I should say I’ve completely fallen in love with him (lol). Before filming, he always comes to the makeup room where the cast is preparing. ‘How are you today? Nao-kun (my character’s name) how are you?’, he tells me. And then, while explaining the scene we’re to shoot that day, he tells us in the kitchen how he wants to film the scene. His sincere attitude in approaching his work is cool, and he’s also really funny and makes us laugh a lot. I’m learning a lot through his personality and his way of creating an atmosphere on set. I love you, Director Hanabusa!
Q. What are you learning on set of your leading drama ‘Wagahai no Heya de Aru’?
Fuma: Because I’m by myself in the drama I have a lot of lines, and although I managed to get two episodes in my head before we started filming, I shot one episode in two days and just like that I’ve exhausted my memory (lol).  In the morning I memorize my lines, and then again during lunch breaks, and also during my evening breaks. It’s a drama, but it’s also an everyday challenge on the limit of my memorization ability (lol).

Meet with a Wedding Photographer in New York, NY: Adam W Cohen Photography
Today’s wedding photographer meeting is with Adam W. Cohen of Adam W. Cohen Photography, located in New York, NY! Enjoy:
Tell us a little about yourself and your company.
My family and wedding photography studio is located out of NYC and we cover the Tristate and New England Region.     I love this job because  people who I am and everything I really care about.   I am  a romantic realist.   Photographing evidence of the feelings that induce individuals to marry each other is not just a big part of my job, it’s also profoundly, personally fulfilling for me.
Read the entire interview after the cut!
The term my customers most often use to describe me would be “sweet” Sweetness has an important place in wedding and portraiture work. Technical mastery of camera settings and light just really matters in a wedding when the bride and groom and all of their loved ones members and guests feel relaxed and positive  in my own presence. When you like having your photographer around, then you are truly at the moment with each other, which is what it’s all about, either romantically and photographically.
When I’m not taking pictures, I’m out discovering amazing meals in NYC, playing Ultimate frisbee, taking the ferry to Brooklyn (it’s the ideal amusement park ride from the city for the son), hitting on the shore, and hiking paths. In NYC, there’s endless opportunities to research, and my loved ones and I can not get enough of it. It takes java to get me buzzing with ideas for your essays and stories that I write in my spare time. And I’m still excited about pictures when I’m not recording once-in-a-lifetime occasions. I love analyzing the work of many others, taking workshops, and experimentation and practicing in my.
How did you get to wedding photography?
I had been working mostly as a movie producer and manager when I got back in touch with a college friend who was a successful wedding photographer. I had been curious about what her working experience had been like and she hired me to function as next for a couple weddings.   Everything about the job excited me. I had been hired for 3 hours on my next wedding, but I worked for ten. Frankly, I couldn’t pull myself away. The wedding scene was really full of personality and lifestyle, a  stream of    creative opportunit ies  at a life-affirming setting.   I had been hooked. We worked together to get a year, and she told me that I was the greatest second photographer she had ever worked with in more than a decade of shooting weddings, which of course was very encouraging and humbling since I was going to throw myself to studying and mastering a whole new art form. My job with her led to other opportunities and then finally I had customers and weddings of my own.
What is your favourite part of the wedding to capture?
Taking pictures of people completely surrendered to what they are feeling at the moment. When I capture this, I know my customers are going to have an authentic record of the wedding experience. As a photographer, that’s the type of film I know I will find at every wedding, in minutes of authentic connection, vulnerability, shared reality, bliss, tenderness, disbelief, ecstasy, poignancy, relief, and overpowering love.   These moments occur daily and not necessarily when you’d anticipate. Couples have different styles, different energies appear spontaneously. So it’s very important to pay close attention to what is happening emotionally, not just keep tabs on the series of events, but also to actually be current and receptive to what people feel.
What’s the most embarrassing moment you’ve experienced while on the job?
Awkward moments often precede something amazing, like a burst of tears or laughter or other displays of pent up emotion. A silence that goes on a bit too long, a individual says something somewhat off, people grab each other’s gaze unexpectedly, an elderly comparative dances flamboyantly, a child cries out — function weddings and you also know it’s the off-script minutes that make our weddings genuinely our own.
As for personally awkward minutes, I once had an officiant say in the end of the service, “And the photographer will guide you.” Everybody looked at me, including the couple who had only kissed. I lowered my camera and said, “okay, first let us congratulate the bride and groom as they walk down the aisle, but please remain where you are for a picture later.” I had been caught off guard, but serendipitously the officiant only created a picture that I wished to take a lot easier to pull off.
What is your favourite place and why?
I love outdoor locations–beaches, gardens, the streets of NY for the pure light and grandeur. Gorgeous light are discovered in wide-open spaces and at the most romantic and shadowy corners of a small restaurant. But any place selected conscientiously by my customers is going to be a location where they feel comfortable and excited and “themselves,” and that’s the main factor when creating pictures together.
Having said that, among my favourite places would be the Prospect Park Boathouse at Brooklyn, which will be so romantic and romantic, also Tappan Hill Mansion at Tarrytown, NY (Mark Twain’s mansion overlooking the Hudson River) which is expansive but still warm. Both are surrounded by natural splendor, as it happens both are catered by Abigail Kirsch, who is incredible.
Nikon or Canon?
I shoot with a set of Canon 5D MkIV DSLRs.
What’s your dream place to shoot a wedding?
MOMA in New York! It could be a excellent location for unusual and trendy angles, reflections, and stunning backgrounds. I’m also fascinated by Iceland’s exotic landscapes, I would love to shoot a  couple on a black-sandy beach with crashing waves and sheer cliffs behind them.
If you were able to shoot any celebrity wedding (past, present or future), who are the lucky bunch?
Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper at Silver Linings Playbook. Their characters are so romantic and quirky, too! Especially now that the Eagles have won the Superbowl, that could be a heartfelt party, and the speeches could be hilarious, and the dancing could be crazy!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and could pass along to some other new wedding photographers only getting started?
Take nothing for granted and always be a student of your craft.   Anything you can do to improve, take action. If you do not feel this drive obviously, as part of your response to wedding photography and portraiture, then you might want to think about doing something different. If you aren’t there because you love it, even if it feels like a chore or a task, that’s likely to be more upsetting for you and your clients. If you like it, you are going to get better and better with experience and it will be a fulfilling way to make a living.
What advice or tips can you provide couples who want to hire a photographer to cover their big day?
The most universal advice I would offer all couples is there are a whole lot of talented photographers around the world, so that you can and ought to take some time to discover a person one of that group with whom you feel a personal connection.   Your wedding photographer is going to be a significant part of your wedding experience, a part of your memories of one o   f the most important days of your life. So after you find individuals whose aesthetics you prefer and whose technical mastery you anticipate, pick one which you get together with.
When you’ve got your short listing, meet your last photographers in individual. There’s really no substitute for doing so and at this point, you can not lose since you are just fulfilling artists whose work you prefer. I adore these meetings! We get to know each other and naturally talk about your wedding, whatever you know up to now and the ideas you are working on. I provide you with a customized estimate within a day or so of our assembly, and that I also include some particular comments meant to assist you make decisions regarding your wedding favors based on my experiences.
Your wedding photographer has appreciated more weddings than you’ve got and you ought to take advantage of her or his insights to help to make your day as terrific as possible.   Here are two quick tips:
Less experienced photographers occasionally emphasize they exercise  “natural light” photography for a way of sidestepping their own inexperience (and their lack of confidence) with using flash in low-to-no-light circumstances. All photographers prefer normal light, but when a number of your wedding has been scheduled to occur after the sun sets or in dimly lit rooms, then you are going to need a photographer who knows how to take good pictures of individuals with off-camera flash. You should ask photographers to reveal pictures similar to this in their portfolio.
And finally, you are going to be feeling all kinds of emotions and nerves on your big day. Attempt to take a breath and soak everything in. You’ve spent so much time preparing for your wedding day, so that it arrives savor it, do not rush it. And if your vows are all over, forget about everything and everybody and only live during that kiss for a moment longer than usual. Nobody dreamed taking an excess beat with their very first kiss as a married couple.
