kunikida *knocking on the door before announcing himself and coming in*: “dazai- dazai it’s kunikida, i’m coming in.”

dazai: “go away…. get back to that schedule of yours”

kunikida: “nevermind my schedule dazai, i came here to see you, i was worried about you!”

dazai: “your worry won’t solve anything… so why don’t you just go..”

kunikida *taking a seat next to the head of the bed dazai is in stroking dazai’s hair and inhaling deeply*: “i’m not going anywhere dazai… not until you promise to act like a sensible human being.”

dazai *a new softness in his tone*: “i can hardly dream of keeping such promises kunikida, and you of all people should know that.”

kunikida: “dazai…. how you live your life is your business just know that our hearts and body’s are only given to us once… all i ask is that you cherish that, the way i cherish you.”

dazai *looking up at kunikida softly and reaching his bandaged hand upward to the hand that had been stroking his hair finally ready to respond to kunikida’s earlier ask*: “i promise i will.”
