Safety first!@newnewwaveswimbuoy • The water is a little cooler than I excepted and turns out I forgot to pack my wetsuit and swim skin. 68-70 degree water is a tad chilly for us Texas people (I know, giant water whimp😂) and it’s a lot wavier than the lap pool😀so I’m gradually increasing my swim time in the ocean. Day 1, 2021 . Swim assessment with @coachjotridot & @s_cranson - a hard feat with only a couple of hours of sleep, a 6am wake up call & wind chill temps at close to freezing on a outdoor swim 🥶 . But, meeting these ladies and being accountable makes it a nonnegotiable for me. It wasn’t the most improved of swims but enough to increase my intensities in upcoming training days. . 2500M ☑️ and an awesome time with my teammates and coach/friends. Enjoyed laughing about how hard it was to get out of the pool and freezing together in a frenzy to change and warm up. 😂 . I chickened out of my swim today so I threw some extra heavy weight around to make up for it. . I’ve committed to continuing with my triathlon plan but putting in the extra work to get stronger too (consistently) in preparation for #IMTX - honestly, my biggest concern is my body holding up 😖I have a nagging issue that I need to dig into and resolve. I’m hesitant to find out it’s more than I’ve given it credit for. 😕 . #80dayobsession is the poison of choice for strength and today was day 5 #legday and then I added more exercises to compensate for the missed swim. . Recovery over the holiday week was a perfect combo. . Hope everyone enjoyed their time, despite it being different this year. . And now, we get back to work & finish strong so we can put a big bow on 2020 and put it behind us. . Tomorrow we begin our #decemberburpeechallenge - details are in my story.
