probably my favourite change from iwtv book to series is that in the book (and the '94 film) lestat fully deliberately babytraps louis but in the show louis babytraps himself like a fucking dumbass (I adore him)

I do like how there's this sort of initial balance in their relationships when they adopt Claudia that's reflected in how they connect to each other one on one. Louis and Lestat obviously share a history previous to Claudia that needs no introduction (and can communicate in private through french), Louis and Claudia share a maker, a bond from his saving her and also being a relatively new vampire (and they can communicate privately through mind reading), and Lestat and Claudia actually share so much in their approach to vampirism, and just personality wise as well, despite being the most unlikely pair at first sight. (And they bond in a way that actively alienates Louis - through Extravagant Murder!) (They are now my favourite fictional father(s)-daugther relationship btw. This is my spyxfamily.)

Alright, ep. 4:
Rashid doesn't seem to be bothered by sunlight. So, not a vampire? 🤔 But then again, the show somewhat annoyingly plays a little fast and loose with that particular rule. Hmm.
"Electronic mailbox", though? Definitely not human either.
Aww, Louis doesn't want to talk about Claudia.
Paris happens in 1945? I thought it might.
Ploiești? So, they did go to Romania? WW2 changes the backdrop interestingly, though.
Black angel and white angel? Oh honey.
"That make him the dumb one?" 😂
"I'm not sure how I feel about that pleated skirt." "It's chiffon, it has movement!" 🤣
Okay, honestly that might have been a little too on the nose, but I did crack up.
Do NOT ask about Lestat's maker. Not a nice bedtime story.
Aah, nice to hear Jacob speak French too.
Crimea, huh? ...Yeah, I see where this might be going. *sigh*
Bailey is rocking this. ❤
White chrysanthemums, perfect.
Oh honey.
Really good episode. Bailey is honestly a star.

one of my favourite things abt iwtv 1.4 is that when Claudia narrates, louis and lestat are so obviously painfully in love with each other, in a way that they aren't when louis narrates like --- the unreliable narrator-ness of it all is so incredibly delicious like -- the difference between louis' experience (or what he claims his experience is) and what an observer sees?? poetic fucking cinema damn
