I never shipped Jachaela and I really like Drea and Jared as a couple but I am disappointed by how they ended up together. Michaela and Jared should never have gotten back together.

They writers should have showed Jared moving on with his life with Drea and not him getting back with Drea because she was pregnant and because Michaela broke up with him and sent him to her. Drea deserved to be with someone who truly loved her.

And I am talking of course about what happened before the plane got back into the past. I expect Drea and Jared's relationship will progress different from that moment on.

The fact that neither Jared or Drea were in the glow but the finale makes their relationship so soulmate-coded. Their relationship is probably going to progress basically the exact same way it did the first time. They will become snarky friends, then friends with benefits, then the accidental pregnancy and the experience of becoming co-parents will get them to fall in love for real. Like, not only will we meet in every lifetime but we will always fall in love the same way.

so I don’t try to understand the whole what originally happened to the plane ‘cause I’ll never get it, but about that ending....

I get reclaiming the 5yrs everyone lost, and Zeke/Mick & Jared/Drea (& future baby) still ending up together, but what about everything else? is Polly’s baby & boyfriend erased? who’s to say she’ll get them back? also I know writers are always mean and it was obvious they’d give a nonending from day 1, total copout! they’re basically saying eh we built this all up to simply hit reset. that’s just stupid but we knew it’d happen as every show does it. but WTH GIVING US BENVI THEN TAKING THEM AWAY?! it can’t just be a bottle moment, they didn’t just bond a relationship ‘cause they were going through something horrible. especially when she was dying on the plane & said “I’m ready” and he yells “well I’m not!” he was crying!! I love that they had such a strong friendship to start but their love for each other wouldn’t have built up over YEARS if it was just that. also, if Zeke/Mick & Jared/Drea still get together then Benvi have to end up together somewhere along the line right? they all still remember each other and even if reset was hit & they’re back to normal life, cmon the chemistry will still be there! I have to hope that in the process of curing Cal - again - Benvi will happen damnit!!

Hey how did you find the season 4 finale for manifest? I noticed your the only one on Tumblr doing manifest stuff so I was just interested.

personally I felt the series really was so whacky that the finale couldnt really live up to my expectations. and then I was pretty disappointed with the ending that everything was reset

honestly I love drea and jared together and was dying for them to be a couple for the entire first 2 seasons drea was there so I was v happy that drea + jared and mick + zeke were endgame!! I love jared and michaela together (and the actors are together irl how cute 🥹) but I just feel like drea and zeke are so perfect for them. And I love drea and zeke as standalone characters too lol

I was so happy that cal and olive get their childhoods back but TJ and olive???? violet and cal??? eden not existing???? so sad

I hope they’ll do a spin-off eventually but idk if that’s just wishful thinking. I would honestly watch anything that anyone from this cast is in though now they’re all so talented

ive been saying it since drea showed up but seriously, mick x jared x drea ot3 come on!!!! poly detectives pls let hope have three parents 2k24

i was surprised they gave benvi a canon moment but i was here for it :') that one episode where saanvi kisses him for a cover but ben doesnt even seem phased and only gives her a Look at the end of the episode has very strong "this never occured to me before but actually this makes more sense" vibes from ben 😂 like even his reaction after they kissed for cover felt so platonic (imo) but then later on he realizes that subconsciously he's been heading there this whole time and he has an "oh" moment, but it's more like an "oh, duh" moment

niche but that scene where jared gives joe's kid a hug and then later on in the season when joe is so lovingly showing jared (and the stones) photos of charlie makes me think jared x joe would be cute, esp cuz jared wants kids so bad and he was so good with charlie

EAGAN AND ADRIAN AM I RIGHT????? man i was already thinking they'd be funny to ship together because they're both kinda self-serving disasters that have hearts deep, deeeeeeeeep down, but that moment when they held hands with the necklace between them? and then starting a business together when they land back in 2013??? so many options for them 😂 even just adrian showing up to angelina and eagan being married and being like dude wtf??? with the added emotional plot of being lowkey jealous and not sure why is a really funny fic idea

ultimately, i liked what they did w the ending tho! it was really cute what they did with tj and the girl older!cal dated, esp cuz both their s.o.'s kinda de-aged on them 😂 i also really love drea so im glad they had jared meet her right then, and it was cute how mick searched the cabs for zeke :') and it's not often we see a bi girl end up with the girl in her love triangle so that was nice for saanvi too yayay 🥰🥰

Season 4a: Jared

Jared's redemption arc was everything I had been waiting for, he has accepted that Zeke and Mick are happy together and he is now a friend to them, and I'm this close to writing a Zeke x Mick x Jared fic because the three of them would make such relationship in another life

I loved his relationship with Drea, sure no feelings involved, but we get Jared making puppy eyes at her and that's all I care about

Him helping the 828ers without a second intention, aka getting back with Mick, is refreshing. I loved that he follows his moral compass over anything else

I'm so happy with Jared this season

I love both jared/michaela, jared/drea and zeke/michaela equally, it’s just the whole switcharoo this half of season was CONFUSING right? especially with trying to keep track of the timeline. in 4x11 ben said they had 9 months left, how much time was it since zeke died til jared/mick got back together? especially since drea was later pregnant? in 4x18 when they found saanvi ben says “you’ve been here the past 8 months” or something, and then 4x19 he says they had their love scene last night. again confusing timeline. either way I’ll take all the moments for these 4 ships & ignore ben going back to grace ‘cause what else was the point of s4 then? LIVE IN THE LOVEY SHIPPY MOMENTS *duvet cocoon miranda-style*

okay now that i’ve slept for way too long and have somewhat fully digested the manifest finale and s3 in general i have thoughts

first, jachaela nation rise. listen, i don’t hate zeke. i think he’s a good person. i don’t even really dislike zeke x michaela, they’re just... boring. and it’s the history of jachaela that for me will beat zeke out every time. and jared is just... left and right proving over and over again that he would do ANYTHING for her and even though (sad times) he is a cop (why can’t good characters stop being cops i just want to live) and he is extremely by the book he quite literally throws that all out if it means protecting her. 

second, the way this show literally has 0 racial nuance is like. hilariously bad but like god the way they had michaela say “i don’t believe in the system anymore” as if the system wasn’t already broken for people who don’t look like her like god white man who wrote this please... PLEASE lol

AND THEN, in this finale they had the AUDACITY to have drea compare the internment camps to what the 828ers are going through with the government like... you really had your japanese actress state this when the internment camps were VERY REAL and this fictional plot is NOT... like... you could make these points in any other way... asldkfjalsdkf bad!

anyways my review!

plot: bad! but remotely interesting enough that i care what happens next. but still bad.

characters: i really don’t care about anybody but saanvi and jared and michaela gets a pass because jachaela exists lol. olive is cool though and grace is decent. everybody else i’m like. for why.

relationships: bad writing like i’m supposed to believe fate and destiny without working for it? no. this is partially why i really don’t care for zeke x michaela. it’s why i absolutely DESPISED angelina and the 5 second love interest she had. SOULMATES MEAN NOTHING IF THEY AREN’T EARNED. WRITE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS BETTER GODDAMNIT. it’s literally watching children write tv when i think about these relationships when i compare them to my fave friendships on tv. it’s just bad.

do i want this to be renewed? yes and no. for plot reasons, no! bad plot. i can be free. free me! for jachaela reasons, yes. how am i supposed to live without knowing what they’re doing next with them. how. HOW. how. HOW??????

manifest s1 and s2 are on netflix. watch if you want to be mad! saanvi is also gay but it was literally touched on for one episode which is sad times but it’s like. small wins for me. asian gays. love her.
