Omni Passion – ny satsning på feature och bevakning av framtiden

Idag är det premiär för en helt ny Omni-skapelse – Omni Passion. Det är en featuresatsnig med stort fokus på mänskliga och tekniska framsteg. 

– Med Omni Passion får vi möjlighet att djupdyka i ämnen som vi och våra läsare är passionerade för, säger Markus Gustafsson, chefredaktör och vd på Omni.

Det första ämnet som behandlas är “Människan i rymden”. Under två veckors tid bevakas allt från rymdturism och resan till mars – till hur investerare nu siktar mot rymden. Därefter växlar fokus till framtidens fordon.

– Genom att hela tiden växla fokus efter två veckor kommer läsarna kontinuerligt utmanas med nya perspektiv i frågor som rör vår gemensamma framtid, säger Markus Gustafsson,

Även i Omni Ekonomi finns satsningen med de tematiska greppen, men där planeras för mer fokus på innovation och entreprenörskap. 

Flera veckor under våren kommer att vikas åt bevakning av framtidens fordon. Det kommer att göras dedikerade nedslag kring allt från bilindustrins elektrifiering till framtidens bilägande.

– Den omställning vi nu ser av bilindustrin är lika stor som när vi gick från häst och vagn till bilar. Vi tar grepp på den utvecklingen, både för vad den innebär för industrin – och för oss bilägare.

Omni Passion öppnar samtidigt också helt nya möjligheter för Omnis annonsörer.

– Intressanta och relevanta digitala kontexter är något som fler och fler annonsörer efterfrågar och som vi också vet ger goda effekter för våra kunder. Med Omni Passion får vi under en kort period ett ämne och en kontext som kan vara helt perfekt för en annonsör just där och då, säger Josefine Kvarnström, Head of Tailor Made Solutions/Director Schibsted Brand Studio. 

När Omni Passion efter två veckor växlar över till ett nytt ämne erbjuds en kontext som kan bli intressant för helt andra annonsörer. 

– Mixen av ämnen i kombination med Omnis starka nativeprodukt kommer bli väldigt intressant för en rad olika annonsörer framåt, säger Josefine Kvarnström.

Getting to Know...

Cuntrie.

Ebba Gustafsson Ågren is no stranger to the indie scene. In 2016 her band Wy debuted with their single ‘In Bloom’ and garnered a substantial following while putting out 2 full length albums which has been praised by critics worldwide.

Cuntrie is her first endeavour as a solo artist and in some ways it feels like an obvious expansion of her creative empire. This new material is fun and quirky in a refreshing way but still holds onto some of the wy-esque features that have made her one of the standout figures in the Swedish indie scene.

After releasing the singles ‘The Singer’, ‘Spider’ and ‘Oh Boy’, Cuntrie now blesses our ears with a 4-track debut EP Scrapbooking. Once again we’re invited to the sincere and yet so playful world in which Cuntrie laborates in. On the EP she mixes minimalistic drum machines with lyrics about both overcoming fobias and the big hole the death of a tiny hamster can leave.

We spoke to Ebba all about Scrapbooking, the reason behind going solo for a project and what she has planned next. Read the Q&A below.

What made you want to start a solo project? And how does the sound differ to your previous work?

!I wasn’t planning on starting a solo project, but as soon as I wrote these songs I felt that they belonged in their own universe, apart from Wy. It’s hard to talk about sound when I talk about my music, because I never want to limit myself to just one sound. I tend to go in a more breezy and pop-oriented direction with Cuntrie than with Wy though, since the subjects don’t feel as heavy to me. They’re still very personal songs, but I save my hardest feelings for Wy."

What is Scrapbooking about and what does it mean to you?

"The EP is a collage of things ranging from nostalgia, nightmares and childhood memories to toxic masculinity and a dead hamster. It’s kind of everyday things but which are important and personal to me. The EP feels very me, in a different way than Wy does. Cuntrie is like the childish side of myself, I almost see it as an alter ego or a mirroring of my childhood persona."

What was your songwriting/creative process for the EP?

"It differed a lot from track to track. I based the songs heavily around their themes, which was a fun thing to do. I went all out with every stylistic choice I made."

What do you hope listeners/fans will take away from the record?

"I hope that both the seriousness and the silly-ness of these songs will shine through. And I hope they are relatable to someone, even if they are very personal and specific."

Finally, what else do you have planned for 2020?

"I have a song coming out later this spring that I made together with Elsa Carmona, it’s amazing. I also hope to play a little bit live. I just bought a neon light from the Swedish artist Josefine Eklund to keep me company on stage, it’s a flower and it’s VERY cute."
