I’ve really only watched PD and Riptide so. take these ^__^ (SPOILERS UP TO RIPTIDE EP109 AND UP TO PD S2 EP19)

Riptide:

- Chip tried to teach Gillion sign language, but he was very confused at first. He didn’t get it because signing “sun” didn’t make a literal sun, etc. He even thought they were magic spells/incantations at one point. Eventually, though, Gill finally understood them— most prominently, the sign for “I love you”. He signed it to Jay during that moment in ep 53, and Chip found the slightest bit of strength during that moment in 109 to curl two fingers in and sign “I love you” to his crew, with what he thought was the last of his strength.

- Mae (May?) Ferin has very curly hair, which was brown but greyed with age. Jay got the vibrant orange hair from her father, but in my brain she has the curls from her mother, and to me that symbolizes how she strikes a balance between being a Ferin and being her own person, following what her mother wants for her (which is just to be happy).

^^^(Ava Ferin had the same hair as her father. She was the spitting image of what a navy captain was meant to be. She was like a mini Jayson growing up.)

- All the Ferins have wings. That’s it. Jayson’s, Jay’s, Ava’s, etc. are white, slightly blue-ish feathers. Drey’s wings are brown and black. His wings are pretty out of shape now, he can’t really fly anymore, but he can still lift them enough to put them over Jay’s, or Ollie’s, or Finn’s shoulders, and it’s like a blanket. He does it to Earl sometimes just because Earl hates it lmao

- Gillion has very long hair and prides himself on all the ways he can braid it into the traditional styles of the Undersea. It’s a slightly different way of braiding than on the oversea, though, so he taught his way of braiding to Jay, who taught her way of braiding to him. They also taught Ollie. who does Drey’s hair for him and occasionally Chip’s if he can be convinced.

- Hair is also a very sacred thing in the Undersea— one only cuts their hair when they have lost a battle, and so long hair is very respectable. When Gill first was exiled to the Oversea, his hip-length hair got cut very short, up to his chin. It grew out gradually over the campaign, but he tried to cut it after the events of 53, only being convinced not to by Jay when she fully understood why he was doing it. Gillion prides himself very much on his hair.

- Jay is dyslexic. In the Feywild, during that one segment, she lost the ability to read because the magic was preying on one of her insecurities, in a sense. Dyslexic Jay the headcanon i truth most.

- Chip has mild apraxia. It’s real to me.

- Also all of albatrio has/had speech impediments cause I said so. Gillion has rhotacism, Jay has a stutter, and Chip had a lisp growing up which still slips out occasionally.

-Joke headcanon that slowly became real to me: Gillion did Chip’s top surgery in ep 15

Prime Defenders:

- MORE SPEECH IMPEDIMENT HEADCANONS CAUSE I LOVE PROJECTING !! Dakota has a lisp/stutter, and Ashe has a general speech disruption. Ashe also has selective mutism ^__^

- To me, Summer and Cantrip had an enemies to lovers sideplot in early to mid season 2. I think Doug probably mentioned how when he was a villain, he worked with this girl Cantrip, who was Ruby’s sister, and Summer got curious and was like “damn. I wonder where she is now” and sought her out to try and talk to her. And literally their early dynamic was Jade going “kys” and Summer being like “i can fix her!!!”

- Xavier and Jade are mlm wlw hostility. Summer and Doug are mlm wlw hostility. Not reaaaally a headcanon but i had to say it.

- William’s family was very religious growing up. He also came from one of those small, Southern hunting towns and so he has the accent and everything (moomin infected my brain with this one <3).

- The PD season 1 finale took place a few days before Halloween, and the four of them had matching costumes planned out together but never did get to wear them.

- Also, to me, the greyscale arc takes place on or very close to Christmas.

- Dakota didn’t really celebrate his birthday nor Christmas for many years because of how lonely those holidays got for him— he didn’t really get a very good birthday/xmas after the events of the Resurgence. However, Tide didn’t know this and got him a birthday gift once, and Dakota ugly cried while hugging him.

- Shockwave was transmasc. He means the world to me. (Also why Tide is such a good hashtag ally)

- Dakota is very scared of spiders for no apparent reason. Whenever they show up he jumps up onto a table or onto Ashe’s back and tries to fight it off with a broom. Ashe is the one who has to take care of it.

- Gender straight up Isn’t Real on Fauna. Vyncent is literally genderless but nobody asked him when he got to Prime so he literally just went along with being he/him’d and didn’t really mind. (this one’s from arachnid lmao)

- Doug and Summer are queerplatonic that’s it that’s the post

- Ashe is a natural blonde, just like Mark, but bleaches their hair. Everyone was fucking shocked to find out about this

- Lightspeed and Wordsmith are also mlm/wlw hostility. real and canon to me

this is literally just the first ones off the top of my head i have so many but i’ve been writing this post for nearly an hour so i think i’ll cut it off here ^__^

my favorite dumb personal headcanon is that finn tidestrider and specifically the elder triton have beef. none of the elders like him very much-- he's one of the most intelligent and widely recognized/respected names in the entire undersea, and he:

isn't religious in any way, shape, or form (alongside the rest of his family)

never married, but had a son later in life, that many people believe was the result of some kind of affair (of course, nothing was ever PROVEN)

had a blatant disregard for not only societal norms, but all the supposed "dangers" life outside of the capital had-- and frequently poked holes in their logic, especially in regards to the oversea

AND finn and his bastard son are the grandfather and father of the fucking chosen one. because of course they are. so yeah. the elders don't like him. but finn and the elder triton, for whatever fucking reason, have BEEF. why? no one knows. they hate finn's autistic swag.

don't get me wrong I ADORE all the fashionista and goth/emo designs for the prime defenders, a+, fantastic work, I love it. I headcanon they are absolutely very plain teens.

William oscillates between two maybe three hoodies total. one week they were pretty sure he just didn't change his clothes. I bet this guy has slept in jeans before. never seen with anything other than scuffed jeans and a hoodie. he's the kind of guy that would be so sweaty in the summer but refuses to take off the sweater. one time he wore a zip up sweater and revealed the stupidest graphic tee anyone has ever seen in their life.

Dakota tries to wear as little clothes as is possible at all times. basketball shorts and a tank top with the armholes cut so far down it's barely a shirt anymore. if tide bugs him enough he'll throw on a zip up sweater when it's cold but nine times out of ten it ends up tied around his waist after a few hours. he refuses to wear anything other than basketball shorts. he's that guy. we all knew one.

Vyncent is never seen in a shirt that doesn't have the strangest text youve ever seen or those nigh indecipherable metal band logos (he has not listened to the music he just likes the design) and baggy sweatpants because he can't move as freely in jeans. he has one (1) sweater for when it's cold.

none of them wear jackets or coats in the winter.

MY CHIP'S MAGIC TATTOOS HEADCANON!!!!

LIKE OH MY GOD—

Whenever Chip argues with Jay or Gill, they'd ask him out of nowhere, "Why are you angry?" and, almost in denial, he'd say, "NO, I'M NOT!" BUT they would still take notice of the flames creeping up his face, crackling audibly, even when he stays silent and withdrawn from a situation.

And let's talk about when Gill attempts to cup Chip's head in his hands and kiss him on the forehead... AND SO Chip gets sooo incredibly embarrassed that he'd almost burn Gill's palms off LMAO.

And when Chip feels down, the crew would notice the flames receding, hardly extending beyond his collarbone. The tattoos would appear unmoving, slightly faded, no longer emanating their usual warmth.

GOOD GOD, I JUST ADORE THE CONCEPT OF HIS TATTS GIVING OFF SOME MORE WARMTH—

At the Black Sea, his tattoos would remain small, subdued, and almost unmoving. Yet, when the captains huddle together for a nap, the tattoos would slowly gain back their vibrant colors and comforting warmth. It's just as if knowing that his captains are resting safe and sound beside him is enough...

I think Jay would sleep with her back turned to him, his arm supporting her head while her hands are gently clasped around his forearm. Perhaps she does it only to keep them warm, but maybe it's because that warmth somehow feels familiar. And in those quiet moments, she can't help but reminisce about Ava's fiery hair slipping through her fingers, making her remember times when they used to braid each other's hair before drifting off to sleep.

On the other side, Gillion would absolutely just wrap himself around Chip, loving the warmth that envelops him. Because waking up in that comforting sensation reminds him of the times he fell asleep on the deck after training, waking up to the gentle warmth of the sun on his skin. Their warmth now simply remind him of sunlight, something he deeply misses seeing...

ANYWAYS Deadwood to me’s literally just one of those creepy ass old southern hunting towns… so here’s some things I think Wiwi Wisp does based offa that

• William Wisp knows about 4 ways to skin a deer and even more how to gut one

• He saw the shotgun in s2 and all those days when they were younger and David would take him out and shoot cans and bottles to pass time came flying back to him like it was trying to attack him, THATS truly how he knows how to use that thing

•He sees lone crying children and while trying to calm them down to find out what’s wrong calls them Sugar and Darlin and Dear and Bubba

•William Wisp who says only Ma or Mama and who probably called his dad daddy til he was like 14

•He refuses to talk when he gets too mad because his accent starts slipping out and it embarrasses him

•He has a secret country playlist buried with all his other music [It has a fake out title so if anyone sees it they don’t think ab it]

•He DEFINITELY passive aggressively says “God bless you” when he’s pissed at people

•He constantly slips up and says little country sayings that he then has to explain to the others

•He only drinks tea that’s so sweet it almost made Vyncent throw up at one point.

•He says hes “Sick as a dog” when not feeling good [<- edit add on]

It's been too long since I've Dakota brainrotted so here.

Prime defenders finale spoilers!!

I have this headcanon that Dakota becomes unable to walk anywhere for a while without holding Williams hand or maintaining some form of physical contact.

At first, looking at Will with his face intact was enough. At first, just being able to see his friend in one piece quelled the worry inside of him. He was able to collapse and fall asleep and feel safe. But once everything had settled, after a day out on the town hanging out with Ash, racing Le Frog, and eating pizza, he was unable to fall asleep that night without remembering how grotesquely William had been shredded to pieces. He woke up that night, bolting out of his bed.

Immediately, he appeared at William's side, crying and desperately grasping onto his hand, startling William awake. Will bolted upright, turning intangible. Dakota cried out at the loss of contact. When William realized he was safe and it was just Dakota, he carefully became tangible again and slipped his hand into Dakota's. Dakota settled after that, easing from loud sobs to small whimpers. Will cards a hand through Dakotas hair, helping him settle further and finally sleep.

The day after, Dakota refused to separate himself from William. He insists on holding his hand, feeling the warmth of William's sort-of living body. He squeezed his hand, tracing patterns he found. William didn't mind, of course, letting him hold his hand and gently ask him to swap which hand he was holding if he ever needed to do something. It became an easy rhythm to follow.

William never asked directly why Dakota stuck so close to him, but all was explained when they lounged around on the couch, Dakota using William's thighs as a pillow. "I'm glad I don't have to piece you together," he says. William grimaces a little, responding with a soft agreement.

Jrwi Riptide headcanons just because

•Chip likes to sew. He’s always fixing up the crew clothes. He’s embroidered a bird and a fish onto his bandana. Sometimes Jay and Gill will get their clothes back from the laundry to find new little patterns and flowers embroidered into them.

•Hair is very important in the Undersea. It is seen as a sign of disrespect the the kingdom and the gods to cut it. Gillion used to have hair that went all the way down his back, but when he was exiled, the elders cut his hair right up to his chin. He was distraught. He didn’t find out until All-port that Edyn had cut her hair just as short in solidarity. Now Gills hair is grown back out but not out of respect for the Undersea, out of love for his crew.

•The crows nest on the Albatross has been gradually turned into an extra bed. It started when Chip was cursed and he would sit in the crows nest and try to stop himself from falling asleep. At least if he did fall asleep, there was less chance of him waking up Jay and Gill with his screaming. One night when he climbed up there, he found a load of spare pillows and blankets spread across the floor to make it more comfy. It was added to over time and now it’s filled with pillows, blankets, spare snacks, Chip’s embroidery stuff, etc.

•After Ruben’s gang, once Chip got his own ship, he threw a load of letters in bottles into the ocean- one for each important member of the Black Rose. He never expected them to be found, but it gave him some solace knowing that maybe they would know he was still alive. Lizzie’s bottle was found by Caspian one day after the Riptide Pirates left for the Black Sea. She didn’t tell anyone what the letter said and refuses to acknowledge that she found it. She thinks next time she sees Chip, she’ll be a bit nicer.
