If Hiyoko and Sonia switched Roles, How much would that change the story for them ?

(and i don't mean in a, make Hiyoko have Sonia's personality and vice versa, i mean if one got the other's place in the story, like say Kazuichi had a crush on Hiyoko instead of Sonia, but hides it pretty well , while Hiyoko is much softer to those she gets along with)

These questions are usually the ones I really don’t have an answer to, ya know?

I always like to think about what the game would be like if Hiyoko had survived in someone else’s place, say Kazuichi’s or Sonia’s, but that means having to give someone else up in the story when I love them so much.

But in the context of things switching with Kazuichi’s crush now being on Hiyoko instead of on Sonia? It’s interesting that Hiyoko is irritated in canon at Kazuichi’s crush on Sonia but it’s only because Kazuichi never acknowledges her as someone their age as well. Once he saw her growth spurt version in Chapter Six, his words note some interest in Hiyoko’s appearance, as he says “No way this voluptuous chick is the same person as that kid! That’s why she got away with all that stuff, because of her childish appearance!” Something to that effect.

Logically, I would say Kazuichi wouldn’t have much of an interest in Hiyoko so long as she maintained her childish figure in the game. But that would change if she hit her growth spurt… but I still can’t imagine it would be close to his interactions with Sonia as Kazuichi is aiming to fulfill this weird “notice me, then reject me so I don’t have to put in the work of actually getting to know you as a person and I can just freely daydream about maybe one day having a hot princess gf” fantasy. And Hiyoko would still find him quite sad and pathetic, but amusing to bully. Because he is.
