many of you know about our interview segment called "behind the blog". you've been anticipating this since we first announced that we would be interviewing the blogs you know and love, so we can get to know the person behind the blog a bit better.

and now, we're glad to announce that our first guest on behind the blog is none other than @vanini-head!

vani, or vanini-head, is a 16 year old desi blogger. we asked her these fun (and controversial) questions. here are her responses!

1. how long have you been on desiblr? I've probably been on desiblr for a year now

2. how did you join desiblr? who was the first desi blog you followed? I was actually scrolling through tumblr and saw this one desi mutual interacting with someone who was most likely desi so I looked up their blog and voila! one acc led to the other and just like that I was a part of the devil's workshop <3

(oh and @hey-adoraaa and @arrigatoroy were the first desi blogs I followed)

3. do you prefer tumblr over other social media? why or why not? I do kinda prefer tumblr over other social media cuz I just feel like I can be myself while also being safe yk?

4. has desiblr impacted your daily life? if so, how? desiblr has actually impacted my daily life, I mean who else would teach me to snort maggi masala or ship amit shah and modi huh? but in all seriousness, a lot of friends that I found here have given me so much support and I just wish more of my irls were like them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

5. what is your favorite thing about the desi community? honestly all of you are so crazy and no matter how sad someone is, y'all always have a way of making them laugh and I think that's very precious

6. a book/movie/tv show that changed you life I think it would be an overstatement to say that a certain book or a show changed my life cuz I don't think any of those have had that much of a significant impact on my life but Little Women was one book that definitely did inspire me a lot

7. a book/movie/tv show you would want to read/watch again for the first time I'd probably like to watch the high school musical series once again for the first time (HEY maybe ryan and chad might end up together the next time I watch it who knows smxksmjxksms)

8. favorite thing to add to maggi? hmmm I think this is a controversial one but cheese and oregano ARE THE BOMB just trust me once (any other cheese maggi supremacists out there??)

9. do you know what ketchaggi is? if so, what are your opinions on it? oh yea ofc I do know what ketchaggi is and let me say this-

WHY WOULD ANYONE LIKE TO EAT THAT ABOMINATION?!? (it's sweet please just n o)

10. what is the worst bollywood movie? my answer might've been de de pyaar de if you had asked this question a few weeks ago but since radhe already exists, we all have an answer now

11. would you rather be unable to understand hindi and english or have to only watch radhe (the salman khan movie) for the rest of your life? I'd much rather be starved and devoid of all joy than watch that movie so yeah I'd much rather choose not knowing hindi and english

12. would you rather have your internal monologue be in arnab goswami's shouting voice or have all your texts be displayed in the times of india? I think,,,,,, I'm gonna have to go with my internal monologue being in arnab goswami's shouting voice cuz as bad as it may seem... it's still better than all your chats being displayed for the whole country to see

13. would you rather have your family be like a bad indian serial OR never eat your favorite food again? my family almost already is a bad indian serial soooooo it can't really get any worse right?? I might not have to quit eating golgappe after all <3<3
