if I had a nickel for every time I watch a kdrama and become rapidly obsessed with the imaginary relationship of side characters in the drama- who weren't interested canonically, have/had different partners, are not gay(as far as the writers know), have like two scenes together, and ultimately don't care that much about each other/ aren't onscreen much together- I wouldn't have much but it's really really weird that it has happened thrice.

(Olympics) Skeleton champ among 8 athlete representatives at PyeongChang ceremony

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) — South Korean skeleton slider Yun Sung-bin was among the eight athletes who stood next to International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach at the closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Sunday to express their gratitude to the host country and volunteers.

When Bach said “athletes from the five continents of the world and future host countries of the Olympic Games would like to join in this thanks,” during the event at the Olympic Stadium in PyeongChang, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul, Yun appeared on the stage with seven other athletes who impressed sports fans at PyeongChang 2018 with their performances.

They were North Korean figure skater Ryom Tae-ok, who finished 13th in pairs skating with Kim Ju-sik; French biathlete Martin Fourcade, a triple gold medalist at this Olympics; Japanese speed skater Nao Kodaira, who took gold in the women’s 500m and silver in the 1,000m; U.S. alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, the bronze medalist in the women’s downhill; Chinese snowboarder Liu Jiayu, the silver medalist in the women’s half-pipe; Nigerian bobsledder Seun Adigun, who became the first bobsledder with her teammates to represent Africa at the Winter Games; and Tonga’s famous shirtless man Pita Taufatofua, who competed in cross-country skiing in PyeongChang.

The eight athletes and Bach, along with the PyeongChang 2018 chief organizer Lee Hee-beom then took a group photo with “finger heart” sign. Yun stood to the left of Bach, while was Ryom on the IOC chief’s right. It emphasized the message of peace and harmony that the PyeongChang Olympics embodied during its 17-day run.

Yun, 23, became the first Asian to win an Olympic medal in a sliding sport after he topped the men’s skeleton sliding competition. Bach reportedly offered to have Yun join him at the closing ceremony when the two meet each other at an event organized by P&G, an Olympic sponsor, on Friday.
