The Komahina ace attorney au but it’s that one scene that made me cry. Aka the “It would’ve been better if you never came back from the dead” scene. Just,,,Hajime grieving Nagito’s “death” and resenting him for it, and then resenting him even more when he comes back because “Seriously? I thought you were dead for a whole year, and you were just in Europe???? What the heck Nagito???” And then saying that line. And Nagito is devastated because he knows the doesn’t deserve a warm welcome, he knows the doesn’t deserve Hajime’s kindness, but why does this hurt so much? Hajime hates him as he should, so why does he want anything, anything but this? And Hajime can’t believe he just said that, he knows he doesn’t mean it, but he can’t bring himself to take it back. Because he’s angry and just...hurt. He’s hurt that Nagito put him through so much, he’s hurt that he never told him anything, he’s hurt that the person in front of him, who he used to consider his best friend, seems so much like a stranger. He feels like the Nagito he used to know is gone, replaced by the person who left him for an entire year, and he just can’t think straight. And it’s worse because he can see the hurt in Nagito’s eyes, and it hurts him too, but he can’t say anything about it because he’s just too angry.

They make up afterwards and Hajime apologizes for saying that and just hugs him out of relief. And starts crying in his arms. Because while he is mad, he’s glad to have him back. He really thought he lost him, and he’s just happy that Nagito is safe. Nagito starts crying too, and apologizes for not being more clear about the “Prosecutor Nagito Komaeda Chooses Death” note and for going without saying anything. imagine Hajime wouldn’t have believed the note at first, probably thinking it was a prank or just some sort of cruel joke, anything to believe Nagito wasn’t dead after he just saved his life. But times goes on and he starts thinking “oh, he’s really dead. He’s gone and I’m never going to see him again.” And yeah. Anyway, they make up (and make out, unless we’re sticking to the canon timeline where they pine for another decade) and the wounds are still there but they’re healing.

Did I add that last part because I was making myself too sad and wanted to give this a good end? Maybe.

Well I’m glad because I was ready to start tearing up right here on the couch??? I. I think I’d die if you left it off at just pure angst. Anyway I’m suddenly emotionally attached to this au uh
