I finally did it. My son finally gets a ref revamp. Nothing fancy but i got REAL tired looking at the old one’s flaws. I still fucked up in some obvious places cuz its been a while and im getting rusty again.

Only big change was the arm fins, idky i put em there. I think i wanted to give him a means of attack and they’d act as a blade if he flew close enough to someone. So inconvenient to draw so i nixed em, also he’s more likely to distract and run in a fight. Not really meant for battle.

Unavoidable flashback time!!

Often when he gets stuck in a loop like this, Kolibri can’t really do much but let it play thru. Because he’s small, he’ll huddle into enclosed areas or places behind machinery and waits until it finishes or Jaguar finds him. Usually he doesn’t get them when he’s working, just when he’s not distracted. And most of the time it’s of his capture; other times they’re of the govt missions he did before, all equally unpleasant.

I know I said in previous post tags that I’m gonna move away from oc stuff for a little, but clearly I was lying to myself.

This was stewin in my mind for a while, having megaman and kolibri meet and exchange birds for a minute and also I checked mega’s height and he’s a whole ass foot or so taller. :0 Which means kolibri is possibly one of the smallest robot masters, if you stack him up against the canon ones.

(which is one of my gripes with mm canon cuz there’s no real detail on any of that really other than eyeballing it but I digress)

I know I already showed Kolibri’s face many times here, but this time I have Jaguar’s too! :D

Kolibri’s hair is a curly bird’s nest, and Jaguar has a kind of jock style, but also with an undercut. I don’t know the hair terms but that’s what I’m going with lmao.

I will try and do the others at some point, although Taiga’s will be non-canon bc she actually does not have synthetic skin or anything, nor can she remove her hat or mask.

OKAY now I can focus on my other projects heh. Just wanted to get this out of the way for future reference bc he wouldn’t leave my mind alone.

Jaguar Man WILL come eventually, I’m just swamped run. As for why he’s under like/dislike, they’re friends! Jaguar just tends to have habits that Kolibri doesn’t like/gets irritated by, like getting pounced on.

A few new details; armor color changes depending on the hummingbird species wherever he’s intended to monitor (default is ruby-throated), he cannot see beyond the helmet brim and does not like using the cameras on it (noisy; scares the animals) thus leads to a lot of run-ins with tree branches.

Kolibriman runs mainly on solar energy alongside a newer refined energy source but also takes traditional fuel when in need. He also has a drone companion named ‘Humberd’, tho he prefers to creatively call her ‘Ruby’. Ruby’s colors also change with his. She will often be sent to observe in his place when minimal interference is necessary. Neither can fight (at least not normally), but when trouble comes they are capable of being excellent distractions for the big guns (Jaguarman).

Ok I updated the chart… I forgot I started this so long ago, kolibri looks so raggedy compared to everyone else lmao. I need to fix him at some point.

I overestimated the amount of space taiga takes up ghfhgf… wasn’t wrong tho she takes up a lot of vertical space, and as seen here has to keep her limbs close so as not to knock down somebody.

(She’s just a little shy, it’s like picture day y’know)

Kolibri cosplaying as a ptarmigan for holiday calendar!

I wanted to make a new icon to this month but I got carried away… i don’t think i can use it anymore, i doubt ppl will be able to see anything LMAO.

Also an experiment in drawing lace bc I always wanted to try even tho these have no rhyme or reason to their patterns. Just have deep seated memories of taking in patterns on lace curtains.

Taiga’s fur stole is removable, it’s only for the shoot anyway so no problems. Her lower coat half is also removable, in this case it’s cuz she’s a little too warm.

Kolibri is v sensitive to cold, so it’s pretty uncomfortable for him, but he can bear it. After all it’s a favor for a friend!

And what’s THIS? New robot master oc? Almost, not quite yet; still hashing them out (which is y they’re not as hurriedly drawn lol)

Workin on more backstory stuff for Kolibri.

I think I mentioned in his old ref (horrible; need to redo) that I mentioned that he was made to help with researching birds, but that's only half true. He was a drone originally created for surveillance by the government to spy on anti-govt groups and ppl deemed terrorists. Which was part of a larger project to create drones or bots with rm appearance and capabilities, but without the free will/advanced ai (kinda). Basically he was an empty slate with no personhood or emotions. He wasn't the only one either, but he was the first.

He and his siblings all had cloaking/camouflage technology built into them as well as a series of expensive top of the line spy cameras. As fate would have it tho, none of these things saved him when he was suddenly shot out of the air with a high-powered rifle from an unknown location. He was then recovered by a group of ppl who turned him over to a new organization dedicated to repurposing govt technology to aid in environmental conservation and preservation. It was then that he was given an actual ai and with a terrible realization.

Now, Kolibri had a device implanted into him upon his initial creation. It was made to hold all of the recordings and images he had obtained while performing his duties. No one could access the data except for those with clearance, and Kolibri himself when ordered to. So, when he had awoken after his remodel and reprogramming, he had attempted to access the device only to be overwhelmed by the horrible content it contained as well as the knowledge of his deeds and was subsequently shut down for a time. He has since recovered somewhat, but still suffers from anxiety and unease. Which is why he’s willing to befriend Jaguar, despite his occasional annoyances. The company helps to keep the weight off his shoulders.
