Lilacs (lilas)

El invierno se acaba con el brote de las flores, y la calle de mi casa se infesta de un aroma a lila. A veces abro la ventana para sentir el viento frío de abril rosando mis mejillas y secando las lágrimas que dejé atrapadas entre las pestañas. Voy manejando por la avenida viendo el sol ocultarse a mis espaldas y parece que la canción del radio es eterna. Por un momento el viaje de regreso me da la resignación para entender que el día ha terminado. Pero eso era antes, muchos años atrás de que comprendiera que esta temporada sólo es una cuenta regresiva hacia los días que no quiero revivir.

Durante las tardes cuando el sol está en lo alto del cielo siento la humedad acumulándose debajo de la ropa, el sudor juntándose en las comisuras de mi cuerpo, cayendo en mis ojos para nublarme la vista. Mi piel se calienta y mis pies arden junto con el suelo, en cualquier instante voy a explotar. Intento guardar en mi pecho los gritos de auxilio, los cambio por un llanto silencioso, pero mis manos tiemblan desesperadas por sacar un cuerpo que está debajo de la tierra. Despierto en el suelo de mi recámara para notar que el aroma a lila ha desaparecido y la cuenta regresiva ha comenzado.

He'd never quite adjust to another version of himself asking how he was, but at least her catching his injury was less embarrassing than other select individuals spotting it. At the very least, Trunks didn't think much of it, even if it did pique his alternate's curiosity.

Sliding the bandaged hand into his jacket pocket with a wince, he'd attempt to play off the question with a slight shrug, "Oh, well, you know- training, right? Always have to keep improving, no matter what the cost."

A pause, uncertain what to say for one moment, only to decide to fill the silence by attempting to keep the conversation more light hearted.

"Besides, we've had worse hadn't we? Injuries from the androids, from Cell... It's nothing new.." He'd chuckle, as it was the only way to express himself as he reflected on the many wounds the two had mostly shared, "But I, uh, appreciate the concern."

This was the first time she had ever seen a female version, and quite frankly it peaked her interest. Catching her other-world older sister off going who knows where, Bura saw an opportunity she couldn’t pass up.

❛ oh! trunks! ❜ WELL, PERHAPS THAT COULD SOLVE ONE ANSWER. it was beyond weird! one minute he’s fighting someone, and the next... he’s back on earth? but as many answers that went solved, there were a lot that went... unsolved. more odd than anything--- THIS WASN’T THE EARTH HE LEFT. it was in... disarray. ruin. it seemed like it was slowly building itself back up, but he could hardly recognize it.

but even when one problem was solved, another seemed to take its place.

trunks was... different. it wasn’t his trunks. not that he would assume, at least. the ki felt off. similar, but not. it takes him a few moments of looking her over and really absorbing the situation around him that he almost PIECES THINGS TOGETHER.

Perhaps it's because he risked deforming the dish within the oven, he thought? Yes, he was very strong, but he knew how to control himself. Was it because the dish wasn't supposed to be eaten with his hands? That sounded like the most reasonable argument. So against his personal views, he, reluctantly, placed the oven mits on, before taking out said dish.

Admittedly, it was quite awkward for the Goku lookalike to be doing and saying such a thing, especially to the one who had essentially been the bane of his existence in a now expunged timeline and universe. Still, it wouldn’t do to have things turn sour right off the bat, so… The dark-clad doppelganger opted to go along with the half-saiyan’s notion of him being ‘Goku.’ …At least, to some extent. “You had mentioned before that your day had not been particularly great. Would you like to talk about it?” He inquired conversationally as a means to distract himself from his previous train of thought.

He hadn't heard her approach, too engrossed in what he happened to be doing by the time she spoke up. What exactly he was doing was simple: Taking apart his time machine in an attempt to ensure that everything was properly maintained.

Nonetheless, despite his slight surprise, he would give her a small smile and nod, if he was going to stay in her timeline for a while, there would certainly be no harm in having another pair of hands to work with, “Only if you want to, but it’s not terribly engaging.”

Stepping aside from the machine, he would allow her to look at the exposed panel of the machine, wiring hanging loose and pieces scattered about the place, it was clear he had been at it for a while.

“I’m trying to make sure everything’s good with mom’s machine. She made it well, but I want to ensure it’s all working properly, maybe even improve it a little if possible. The last thing anyone would want is this thing causing even more problems for the space-time continuum.”

A chuckle flew from his mouth, to think there was a day where he wasn’t sure he’d ever need to go through time, and now he was ensuring his travels were properly conducted.
