Louis x Sick! GN! Reader

Normally Revenants don't get sick. Usually their BOR parasite should keep their bodies at peak efficiency. However it seems even the BOR struggled to fight a common cold after a long trip to the Ridge of Frozen Souls. It sucked. After so many long years of never getting sick, you had become unaccustomed to illness. Your head pounded and your sinuses were sore. You had this chill down your spine that never seemed to dissipate no matter how many blankets you pile on.

"No more blankets, (Y/n)," Louis chided as he entered your room. In his hands he held a steaming mug and a book. "You may feel cold but you're running a fever."

You groaned as he placed his items on the desk and began folding the topmost blanket off your body. Gripping the next layer, you shot him a look, challenging him to a tug-of-war as he tried to cool you off. With a soft smile he yanked the cover out of your hands and threw the discarded blankets onto an unoccupied chair. Now under a single blanket, you curled up, attempting to warm your frozen bones.

"Here, this should help," Louis offered you the mug, holding it just out of your reach to tempt you out of hiding.

"Can't believe I got sick..," you grumbled, sitting up and wrapping your last blanket around your body. Gratefully accepting the drink, you took a deep whiff, the smell of warm tea flooding your aching body with a sense of tranquility.

"We're immortal, dear, not indestructible," Louis chuckled, gently sitting next to you with his book cluched in his arm. Stretching out and wrapping an arm around you, he opened to the first page.

"Is this a new one?" You asked, leaning into his slender frame and taking another sip of your warm beverage.

"Yes, I found it while out scavenging for supplies. It seemed interesting so I picked it up."

Skimming over the title you determined it was a romance novel. Something you never anticipated about Louis, and certainly didn't suspect, was that he was an absolute sucker for sweet and kissy books in-between his research. You didn't get into the habit of reading them too until you grew closer with the Amamiya. And soon it became a common ritual during times of peace or rest to sit together and read through these kinds of books.

As the night wore on, the pages flipped and your mug emptied, creating a soft and quiet atmosphere, easily distracting you from your cold as Louis' smooth voice read out the word on the page, never stopping even as your eyes drooped.

Honestly probably you getting super interested and excited in what he's doing. If you're completely fascinated by his research, he can't help the crimson that spreads across his cheeks, the look on your face is absolutely adorable. If he makes a breakthrough in his research, the fact that you get more excited than him makes his dead heart thump.

Making sure he takes care of himself also makes him really soft. He sometimes get so immersed in reading or researching, he'll actually forget to take his share of blood, forget to sleep, and even forget to just generally take care of himself. If you were to bring him drinks, blood or tea it doesn't matter. If you softly bring him to his room for rest, he can never say no. Having someone so tenderly care for him makes his chest tight in a good way.

Comfort Headcanons: Louis

He knew something was up when you came stomping back to base

Concerned he had asked what was wrong

And he had opened Pandora's Box

All at once you had started complaining about other revenants, how mistreated you felt, all the pent up feelings if yours spilling forth

He only watched you pace back and forth, keeping silent as you vented out your frustrations only chiming in when you asked for it

He allowed you to get your irrational thoughts and feelings that had built up out of your system

He couldn't help you when you weren't thinking clearly

So he waited until you finally plopped into the seat next to him, silent

And then he finally put in his opinion

Louis isn't someone to hug you and agree with everything you're saying or feeling to male you feel better

He'll give you an opinion from an outsode source and how he sees the situation

He'll point out faults in both parties, but he will also give pointers and advice on how to properly handle similar situations in the future

He will comfort you to a degree, telling you he understands how you feel and why you feel that way

But he also helps you build yourself into a better version of you

Feelings are hard, he understands that, he has trouble dealing with his own trauma

But after a quick breather, a small break, and a talk, the situation soon dissipates and actually isn't as major as you had original saw

Comfort from Louis isn't all hugs and cuddles, but you do leave feeling lighter and determined to handle future problems better with your newfound knowledge

This is everyone's reminder to walk away from situations that only seem to get more heated and take a break. Things will only escalate when you're getting increasingly frustrated and fogged mentally, so take a break and come back to it with a clear head so you can think properly
