You know what we haven’t talked about?

This scene. Gun saying "Didn't you say you loved me?" right after Sky begged him to not hurt him anymore.

(I, for one, have not seen the scene until I watched it on iQiyi instead of YT, and watching it broke my heart.)

Despite the blatant non-consent shown, and a million more reasons to hate Gun, what I found most astonishing is Sky's ability to accept Prapai's love at some point. To accept and not flinch away when Prapai tells Sky he loves him.

Going through abuse in the name of love, and -atop it all- having your abuser throwing exactly those words is something close to a death sentence. How much trust is left for love? None. The word 'love' alone triggers a trauma - just like we've seen Sky going through. While we, the audience, had somehow suspected the trauma was inflicted partly exactly because Sky's ex had used "I love you" against Sky, to manipulate him even further, we couldn't have guessed it goes this deep.

It's the worst to be run into an illusion of love, and can cause already enough trauma, a person can be shattered for life. But using it in context of actual SA, when there had been begging and pleading involved to stop? Even using it as a justification for abuse? It is insane. And it's nothing short of a miracle Sky managed to walk past it. To allow Prapai telling him he loves him without immediately falling into memories. To answer Prapai's love declaration? It's not only courage, but a strength words are incapable to describe.

Final thoughts on the finale.

The episode was CHARGED and emotional and really dark. Even so, overall well done. I was tense the entire time, watching everything unfold.

Gun, I’m glad P’Chai is gonna make him disappear. I hope he does the same for the entire group of those bastards.

(Side note: the actor playing Gun, is very pretty. Couple that with his incredible acting, I wanna punch his pretty face in. So job well done on him.)

Fort, he really put his entire soul into Prapai. You can see it. This man is ACTING. Okay?! He ate that up from beginning to end. Watching his eyes change between caring for Sky and wanting to obliterate Gun was chef’s kiss. Fantastic work.

Peat, my darling baby. What a fantastic performance. I mean.. my hats off to him. This role was NOT easy. Portraying trauma and the existence of a survivor is difficult work, and he did phenomenal.

The scene at the end where Sky’s telling Pai what happened to him… wow. I could feel everything they were both feeling and Pai crying turned me to mush.

(Side note 2: Sky asking Pai why he’s crying like he didn’t just tell him the most absolutely traumatic shit is so realistic… once you come to terms with what happened, for you it’s just a fact. The emotions aren’t as intense. For the person learning about it, it’s all new and fresh and painful.)

I am glad they gave us such sweet and human moments like the beginning with the 3 Musketeers, and the ending was extremely sweet and emotional and just… so well done.

Will I be rewatching the episode? Probably not. It was a lot to take in. Who knows though? Maybe once it wears off I’ll be okay to watch again.

Love in the Air... well... The ex was let off extremely lightly* and his accomplices needed a good kicking as well, the fuckers. Poor Sky.

I am sad that there was only one scene of Sig - can we have a series about him getting together with someone - Saifah? Or Chai! Oooh - that would be interesting. I suspect we'll get him and Som together by the end of the Special but I do hope not. And I have zero idea why Leon and the Twins were in the opening credits because the latter were blink and miss it with the former doing 30 seconds (although I did like his unicorn floatie).

Finally I mourn the fact that we didn't get more Payu with his hair down...

*I am hoping that the special is basically 45 minutes of Chai beating him and his accomplices half to death then locking them in a dungeon with Stop so they can contemplate the error of their ways until I've forgiven them. Which is never.

ok my two cents on Love in the air ep 13

(my head hurts from crying and I'm sleep deprived so it's about only a part of the ep)

speaking as an abuse surviver, prapai said ALL the right words and i mean ALL!!! he did everything right for sky a trauma victim, used words a trauma victim needs as air and i salute the writing team for this, thank you for showing what could be if we put a little extra effort in writing, this is a very good representation of how to deal with and help trauma victims and survivers, it was a huge deal for me personally to see sky receive such unconditional support and love from his boyfriend, like

when sky calls him after the nightmare he's flirty at first but picks up on sky's distress quicker than lightning, asks him if he's ok now, goes to him at once, when he entered the flat he announce himself twice and keeps looking for sky until sky comes and hugs him, filling sky's space with his voice and his presence, not invading, filling

the aftercare (ok it was only a short scene but so so important for sky) the way he reassures sky that he's the one who should be doing this (cleaning sky up) it was so good to hear that for sky

and after the assault, the way he deals with a shutting down sky the way he shouts "answe me!" the way his voice is breaking and rising at the same time, everything he then said to reassure and calm sky down, de-escalate the situation/sky's panic even when he didn't have all the facts didn't know what exactly went down between sky and gun, and everything he said afterwards it was perfect!! kudos to dialogue writers! and forts acting, all those microexpressions, all those hitches in the breath, the heartbreaking "hmm?" *chef's kiss* 😭😭

also the head rubs or pats, they're so comforting and therewere sooooo many, prapai never lets go of his head for extended periods of time on screeen! like it's so rare to see that much platonic comfort given towards once love interest on screen even after a traumatic experience, especially after traumatic experience, that's huge for me, idk why i felt so strongly about it but it's like that's the shit baby!!! you go girl!! give him all the head pats he deserves ittt!

*also the actor for Gun did such a great job, im sorry i couldn't watch his parts in their entirety coz they almost triggered panic attacks, so i just skimmed through (maybe someday I'll be able to look at scenes like this and be able to enjoy the acting and lighting and stuff) but from what i saw it was all expertly done and i especially liked his positioning and the red light reflected on his only one side of his face when he's talking sky outside the event, like only sky can see and knows his true colors, all others see is the normal front he puts up that was 👌

Listen, I will defend Prapai on every account because he never did anything wrong ever. He was a little stupid about the keycard but other than that...

When he shouted at Sky, he did that because he was scared and not because he was angry. Prapai was scared because Sky was completely unresponsive and Prapai didn't know what had happened. He feared that Sky was seriously hurt and wanted to help him. From what he had seen walking in, he probably already assumed the worst. He knows that Sky bottles up his feelings and keeps everything to himself out of fear to be unloveable and thinking that his feelings aren't valid. By demanding that Sky should cry, he wanted him to let it out and reassure that he was allowed to cry and it is natural to cry. He wanted Sky to know that his feelings are valid and he did nothing wrong. Once he realised that Sky couldn't process his feelings at the time, he talked to Sky to bring him to the present moment and reassure him again.
