For the series game! can I ask Between Us and Manner of Death?

🏊‍♂️Between Us🏊‍♂️

Favourite character: for the longest time it was Bee but since he got a bit wet kitten near the end, it might be Tul now

Funniest character: i don't remember laughing much with this show but Tul stirring shit was appreciated..Win too

Best-looking character: ohh this show made me get Boun's appeal phew..also though i wouldn't consider Waan traditionally handsome, he brought so much charisma to the table i couldn't look away

3 favourite ships: WaanTul, WinTeam, BeePrince

Least favourite character: Prince's manager maybe? BeePrince's arc was kind of meh so the drama that came with those scenes just annoyed me more than anything

Least favourite ship: out of the four other couples, not counting parents, ig PhruekManow

Reason why I watch it: at some point the dash motivated me cause i had missed out on 4 episodes..the editing is just not it, yknow, the episodes were long and i was dreading the pointless parts.. i wanted to see WinTeam happy but for most of the show i was there for the other couples, at one point it was BeePrince, then WaanTul and i had fun with the PhruekManow crumbs; the chemistry between WinTeam (not sexual only, overall) is also a factor

Why I started watching it: there was sm hype from the fandom and so many gifs from the first two episodes lol; i hadn't/still haven't seen UWMA and thought it'd be fun to see how this one plays out for smne with nearly no context

Favourite character: it's maybe either That or the inspector

Funniest character: again, i don't remember laughing much (i was so stressed out) but That was so cute and i found his behaviour funny..Tan was also ridiculous

Best-looking character: Inspector M babyy

3 favourite ships: TanBun, ThatSorn, Inspector M and me Dr. Oat (i'm waiting impatiently)

Least favourite character: gee, pick any of the villains and you'd prolly be correct

Least favourite ship: Tan and the kitchen..just leave it to the hottie doctor babes

Reason why I watch it: the mystery and TanBun's chemistry (and their effortless slip into a relationship lol the murder stuff just delayed the inevitable it seems)

Why I started watching it: everyone knew this show and the mystery genre is right up my alley..also MaxTul, i think i had seen twm at that point and wanted more of them

What were the BLs that took you by surprise last year?

All the Thai ones, since it was my first time giving them a try. But from the ones released in 2022, I gotta admit nothing really compared to KinnPorsche. It was surprising how up my alley it was. Very daring, very stunning to look at; very meticulous work in the details. It was a whole experience.

Oh, but also Triage! That one was a fever dream. Who's writing timeloop medical plots like that!?

What were the BLs that you felt a bit disappointed with last year?

Hmm. Cutie Pie? I wished I had liked at least one of the main characters, but they felt kinda... shallow? It was frustrating because there was clearly a lot of work (and money) invested in the production, but not so much in the script.

... Maybe it was just not my thing 🙌

If you had to suggest a BL for someone what would it be?

Depends entirely on what the person is into. If you enjoy your dramas mixed with some social critics, I'd go for The Eclipse, or Not Me. If you prefer romcoms, can't go wrong with Cherry Magic and Semantic Error. Feeling particularly horny, or aching for some potent hurt/comfort? You should try Love in the Air. Enemies to lovers with mutual pining? Bad Buddy is your jam. More like an action, be-gay-do-crimes kind of pal? KinnPorsche is waiting for you. Crazy plot twists? Manner of Death and Beyond Evil. Murder Husbands enthusiastic? Hurry up and tune in on Strangers From Hell.

What was your non-BL favorite last year?

I don't understand the question.

... Ok. Alright. I have watched some things that were not BLs last year, actually! Among the many of them, my favorite was She Makes My Heart Flutter (korean GL short series with old/young queer generations from the same family bonding).

Also, shout out to Interview with the Vampire. What even is a BL, and why is it only eastern media considered valid under this genre, I don't know. I really liked Our Flag Means Death and the second season of Young Royals too. So there you go.

Non-Canon Pairings I Loved at First Sight

These are pairings I wish were real and, usually, their bonds in their respective shows are filled with the type of gay subtext you can only find in Chinese "bromances" (that is, gay stories that, bc China, have to be turned into friendship stories). Some of these pairings are not from BLs.

1) HighlightAndrew, HighlightTraffic, JimbaeAndrew, and even JimbaeTitle, Blacklist. Damn near everybody in this fucking show was couple material.

2) KhettKim, The Shipper. Folks will have a lot to say about this but I can't help that Ohm and First have chemistry. Nothing against Fluke but maybe they should've cast Ohm as Way..

3) ThatSorn, Manner of Death. My babies were so cute 🥺🥺 If we get MOD II, hopefully they pick up where they left off in MOD and become an actual couple.

4) PureWaan!!!, My Gear and Your Gown. GMM had lightning in a bottle and said 'no' trying to make Marc Pahun happen instead... Sorry to Marc but he and Pawin did not have IT. Itt should've been the side couple with Pai (and ultimately the one paired with Folk) so that we could get the couple that deserved.

5) TewDay, SOTUS S. I feel that these two were underrated in the chemistry department. Not as much as PureWaan but definitely enough to make you side eye their relationship. They were cute and I think good for each other.

So first of all I hope you had a great start into a new week.

This episode of MOD was something...on the one hand so much has been revealed on the other it feels like nothing happend????

At least we got such cute scenes from TanBun and SorawitTat. And finally the Boys are relatively save. Also Sorowit running away from Bun thinking he is a ghost was hilarious😂.

But they all were so soft and aahhh I need like one epsiode just domestic husbands.

About you last answer, about the characters backstories not getting explored enough. Totally agree with you, but I think that is a part of adaptation that happens alot?!

Also about todays epsiode, a lot of people think Rungtiwa killed Pued bc she was jealous???? Like no (imo). She wouldn't wait a year, also their relationship is in the past and she seemed over it when Jane brought Pued with her. Also i think she could have never killed Jane, and least of all in the way Jane was murdered.

I think she killed Pued for two reasons, maybe both maybe just one. First of all she found out he was pimping her put, scound she thinks Pued killed Jane. That was revenge not jealousy. She said they are the most important people in her life, but also she doesn't think it will end well.

I finished the new MOD last night and boy it was a ride lmaoo. There wasn’t as much action but it was much needed imo. The thing with Rung and Pued was such an interesting turn & I’m glad that things are finally starting to be resolved. (at least some of them) Also M’s development?? amazing. I absolutely love where they’re going with him and I think him, tan and bun make an amazing trio. their scenes together were definitely the highlight for me. I love them!!! 💖 Also ThatSorn being adorable and TanBun being proud parents? more pleathe 🥺 that was so cute omg.

I don’t have a final theory on why Rung killed Pued but jealousy doesn’t seem likely to me. Bc like you said, the time aspect doesn’t make sense. Their relationship is way in the past. The only thing I can think of is that she just recently found out what he did to Jane AND maybe she also thinks that he killed her? So she killed him out of revenge. that’s the only thing that makes sense to me. But as I said, jealousy is very unlikely imo. Also there’s no way she killed Jane. In my opinion. Anyways I loved the episode, the only thing I still don’t like is that we still don’t know much about the characters. Like, I’m getting increasingly attached to That and Sorn so I really wanna know more about them already. Also where is Nam????? hmm.
