No matter the region there is a common story that is told by parents to children, "if you don't stop crying, an oni's gonna come kidnap you." But the bogey are actually the source of such oral traditions, being said to appear before children who can't stop crying or those with deep sadness even in the absence of tears. Judging from their behavior, a bogey would be a very calm, gentle partner; one who would watch very carefully if you ever needed a shoulder to cry on.

I feel like for a bogey, actions would speak louder than words. She may not have too much to say, but she'll be there to listen to you if you need to vent, and will be there if you really need a soft, plushie hug. Bogeys are part of the Ogre family, so they look like they would definitely be taller than the average human. Bogey hugs would practically envelop a person, and given that the majority of their body appears to be made of plush material, she would give some of the softest hugs this side of the hemisphere. Not to mention that ogres are usually really strong, so if you were too something to move around one day, she'd be happy to carry you around your home and snuggle you as you slept.

A great thing about bogeys is that their hugs have the power to alleviate anxiety, nervousness, fear, etc. In short, bogeys are like walking antidepressants, which, if you're going through some really rough times, can be a blessing. Of course, your bogey wouldn't be a substitute for genuine therapy, but she would be very helpful to have around during an at-home episode. (Lord knows I would definitely need a bogey every now and then)

Since the tale behind the bogey says that they will steal away sad children, I can't help but imagine your bogey out and about while you're working and you come home to find her playing with a few kids she kidnapped, trying to help them feel better and forget their awful home lives. It would be a really conflicting scenario to come back to because while she did rescue them from a bad home, she still kidnapped them.

Though bogeys are said to be attracted to those who feel like they don't have any love in their life and are unable to heal their sadness, I don't think they would be the type to abandon their chosen partner once they overcame their depression. MGE is a wish-fulfillment scenario, after all, so if a bogey chose you, she'd stay for life. You’ll have insanely fluffy hugs and a listening ear for years to come.
