i think you can make Generic Dark Haired Anime Boy designs work but you must give them some super weird personality quirk. make him intensely knowlegable, to the point of knowing the most minute details, on a war crime and make him refuse to elaborate on how he knows this. make him a wannabe supervillain who is unfortunately under the horrendous curse of being Just Some Guy. you should at least get creative with the personality
