Sasuhina Chibiventures : Kleptomaniac
Part 1
Part deux with a SH Month theme and a bit of Valentine’s Day slapped on cuz that’s how I roll.
Sasuke’s backpack thumped against his back as he tried to keep up with his mother. Itachi had left them behind and rushed to his classroom while the kindergartener and his mother ran to his. He would’ve complained but thought better of it; after all they were running late because Sasuke couldn’t find the action figure he wanted to show to Naruto. He had thrown a huge tantrum before Itachi found it under the couch.
Mikoto profusely apologized to Iruka as she pushed her son inside.
“It’s fine, Mrs. Uchiha. We just finished taking attendance,” his teacher said. “Sasuke, go put your stuff away and join the others.”
Eager to take his backpack off, Sasuke hurried to the empty area where all their cubbies were. He wasn’t expecting to see anyone there so he jumped back when he noticed Hinata. But she wasn’t facing him; she had her hands inside someone else’s backpack.
Sasuke’s eyes widened as he gasped. The sound caused her to turn his way with a nervous look on her face. Never in a million years would he have thought Hinata was a thief. This was disappointing to see.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing!” She cried out.
“Then why was your hand in someone else’s bag?” He asked accusingly. Sasuke might feel strange around the girl but as an Uchiha, he knew right and wrong. After all, his father was the police chief. “What did you take?”
Hinata waved her hands. “I didn’t steal anything, look!”
Crossing his arms in a very authoritative way, Sasuke frowned. “Hn. If I tell Iruka- sensei, you can get in big trouble, you know.”
Her pale eyes quickly watered and Sasuke felt bad. He looked away and huffed. “But I guess I won’t tell him this time. Just don’t do it again.”
She nodded and hurried out.
For the rest of the day Sasuke kept a close eye on her, well closer than usual. He didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.
As they were getting ready to leave, he noticed Shikamaru grabbing the bag Hinata was looking through. He felt guilty for not saying anything. But then he saw Hinata tug on Shikamaru’s hand, lean close and whisper in his ears. Whatever she said had her in a fit of giggles and Shikamaru was sporting a slight blush. She waved to him as her mother, who was standing between two men in suits, motioned for her to hurry up.
Suddenly Sasuke didn’t feel bad for his classmate.
The next day he noticed Hinata was taking longer than usual to put her stuff away. He peered around the corner and once again he was disappointed in the girl. This time she had her hand in a different bag. He knew who it belonged to; he had learned to avoid its owner at all costs but that didn’t mean that Ino deserved to get her things stolen especially on her birthday!
Hinata felt his gaze but just as quickly as she turned, he leaned back and hid from view. Sasuke walked to his small chair, hands on his face.
Wasn’t he supposed to tell someone? But then Hinata would cry.
He avoided looking at her as she walked in with a smile on her face. He thought back to the things his father would say about the Hyuuga family and how they were all bad people.
But you’re nice at least I used to think so…
He was so troubled he forgot how to spell the vocabulary words he studied for so hard with his brother the night before.
After dinner, Sasuke asked his father for advice. Fugaku noticed the seriousness on his face and was concerned. “What’s on your mind, son?”
“Well… this is a secret, okay? You can’t tell Mommy or Itachi. Promise?”
Fugaku nodded and Sasuke exhaled nervously.
“What do you do if someone you care about…? What if they did something bad and I saw it happen? What do I do?”
His father narrowed his eyes. “Like what?”
Sasuke looked away and wrung his hands nervously.
“Did they hurt someone? Did they lie? Did they steal something?”
Sasuke tensed when he got to the last question.
“Oh,” Fugaku realized. “And do I know this person?”
He didn’t look at his father. Sasuke didn’t want to tell him it was Hinata. He might tell her dad and then she’d get in huge trouble. “No… but what if most of the time they are a good person? And what if you don’t want them to get in trouble?”
“If someone steals, they need to return whatever they took and apologize.” Fugaku carefully analyzed his fidgety son. “Sasuke, do you need me to talk to your teacher?”
Freaking out, Sasuke jumped off the chair. “No, it’s a secret remember! I just need to know what I should do. How do I stop my friend from doing it again?”
Fugaku knew plenty of ways to prevent theft but Sasuke’s situation seemed simple. “Just tell your teacher. He’ll fix it. It’s not up to you to solve everything, okay? And if your friend is angry at you for doing the right thing then they really weren’t your friend to begin with. Stealing is bad even if they are a good person.”
Sasuke shrugged sadly; he didn’t want Hinata to hate him.
With a heavy heart he planned to tell Iruka what he’d seen. However he didn’t see Hinata do it the following day. Or the next. Sasuke was glad she had realized she was doing something bad.
His dilemma was forgotten until almost three weeks later when he saw her opening Naruto’s backpack.
Furious, he balled his pudgy fists.
Why does she keep doing this? And on Naruto’s own birthday!
Suddenly she opened her backpack and pulled out a medium sized bag of cookies. Hinata rummaged through Naruto’s bright orange backpack and carefully put the bag inside. She closed and placed it back in Naruto’s assigned cubby.
Sasuke smiled as he realized Hinata wasn’t stealing from his obnoxious friend; she was giving him a present.
Feeling much better, he walked over to Hinata who froze. “Please, don’t tell anyone!” she cried out. “I wasn’t stealing, I swear!”
“I know. I saw what you gave him. Why didn’t you just tell me?” he asked.
Hinata pressed her fingers together. “I didn’t want everyone to ask me for cookies all the time because Daddy is very busy. He only wants me to give them to special people,” she explained.
He nodded, relieved that he had it all wrong.
However a new dilemma plagued his mind. Why hadn’t he gotten anything so far? Wasn’t he special? His mother certainly told him so.
After days went by, he grew frustrated. He even left his backpack slightly open to make it easier for her.
Where were his darn cookies?
Finally he had enough. If he wasn’t going to get cookies, no one was. He made it a habit to linger behind and see if anyone was lucky enough to get a gift. When Hinata left, he would sneak back and take the goodies. Sometimes he gobbled them immediately. Other times he placed them in his backpack and enjoyed them with Itachi as they watched cartoons, telling him his friend gave them to him.
One day he happened to see Kiba talking to Hinata. He grew worried they found out what he did the day before and listened in.
“I swear didn’t get them, Hinata,” Kiba said. “I checked my backpack twice!”
“B-but I put them in your backpack. I promise!” Her lips quivered. “W-we worked really hard on them...”
Frantic to stop any waterworks, Kiba laughed nervously. “It’s fine. ‘Sides it’s not like Akamaru was upset or anything. He’s a puppy! He doesn’t know anything. He really liked meeting you so ask your dad if you can come over again.”
Still, Hinata apologized to Kiba for probably mistaking his bag for another. She promised to ask her father to make another batch of doggie treats and he hugged her.
While usually he would feel upset that Kiba was getting too close to her, Sasuke’s mind was still processing the fact that he ate dog treats. He held his stomach and walked to Iruka who was concerned by his paleness.
“Sasuke?”
“I don’t feel so good, Sensei.”
Iruka was about to lean down but Sasuke emptied out his stomach contents on his shoes. Nearby children shrieked and ran away while Iruka tried to soothe the crying boy. Mikoto promptly picked him up and took him to the doctor but he wouldn’t reveal what made him sick; Sasuke knew criminals went to jail.
.
.
Sasuke decided that he should just stop. Hinata was a nice person and eventually she’d have to give him something soon. Like Itachi always says, he should just be patient.
Then Gaara Sabaku arrived. The shy red haired boy gravitated towards Naruto and, much to his chagrin, Hinata. The two kids were often inseparable during free time and Sasuke also started to hate the stuffed bear he brought along.
Despite Iruka telling him to put it away during lessons, Gaara was still allowed to take it out for recess or free time. Sometimes Gaara would play with Naruto while Hinata played with the bear; she was the only person he trusted with it.
His worst fears were confirmed when Hinata was taking forever putting her stuff away. She returned with a shy smile and sat beside Gaara at their small table. Furious, he asked Iruka if he could use the restroom; they were near the cubbies.
Opening the tan backpack, he saw the bag and harshly pulled it out. He looked in again and saw two black beady eyes looking back. Smirking, Sasuke pulled the bear out and sat down.
“Can I have these cookies, Mr. Bear?” Sasuke asked. “Thank you!”
He started munching on them.
“Oh, you want one too? Here you go!”
He smashed a cookie against the hard snout. “You’re so messy. Doesn’t Gaara teach you manners? Maybe he’s a bad owner. He shouldn’t be friends with Hinata if he’s bad.”
Iruka, noticing Sasuke was taking a long time, went to look for him. What he stumbled upon was the small boy having a patronizing conversation with a stuffed animal as he stuffed his face with cookies.
“Sasuke?”
He froze and hid the bear behind him.
“What are you doing with Gaara’s things?”
“Nothing!” He mumbled, a mouthful of cookies stuffing his cheeks.
Iruka picked up the empty plastic bag and saw a note inside.
“They’re mine!” Sasuke claimed.
‘To: Gaara’ was written elegantly in cursive and he frowned. “Sasuke, this isn’t yours. Why did you take it?”
Slowly chewing, he tried to think of an excuse. He’s seen plenty of shows with his parents where a criminal sometimes used excuses to get out of jail. “Because… they forced me to do it?”
Now Iruka was concerned. “Who?”
Sasuke looked around. “The... Yakuza?”
Iruka stifled a laugh and cleared his throat. “I’ll have to tell your parents, Sasuke. And you need to apologize to Gaara. This isn’t acceptable behavior.”
Sasuke nodded as he stood up. “Should I apologize to Hinata too?”
“Why?”
“They’re her cookies. She makes them and gives them away.”
.
.
Hiashi looked at his watch as the last parent finally arrived to pick up their child. He received a call from his daughter’s teacher and was immediately worried something had happened to Hinata. When Iruka assured him she was fine, he was less enthusiastic about this impromptu meeting. Since Hiashi insisted that Hikaru go to her weekly prenatal yoga, he came alone. Well, aside from his two bodyguards.
His eyes narrowed at the ones glaring back at him; he never liked Fugaku Uchiha.
The dislike was mutual and Fugaku was glad he decided to accompany Mikoto on his day off. He didn’t trust any Hyuuga near his family.
Once inside the classroom, Iruka explained the situation much to Hiashi’s amusement.
It seems like the Uchiha is raising a little troublemaker.
“But I’m still confused. I mean, my son knows that if he really wants something, I’ll give it to him,” Mikoto explained. “And I make sweets all the time but he doesn’t really have much a sweet tooth. Are you sure he’s stealing cookies?”
“I’m afraid so,” Iruka nodded. “Sasuke has admitted to it and apparently has done it for quite some time. When I talked to Hinata separately, she said that some of her friends claimed they never received their gifts.”
“Oh no. Fugaku, what if this is a warning sign!? What if it starts small and before we know it he’s a full blown kleptomaniac?” She asked.
Her husband shook his head, “Calm down, Mikoto. Let’s talk to Sasuke and find out for ourselves. Maybe it’s just a phase.”
“Quite the disciplinarian, Chief,” Hiashi mocked as he picked up Hinata. “Instead of harassing me and my business, I suggest you keep a closer eye on your son.”
The air grew thick and the only ones who didn’t pick up on it were Hinata and Sasuke. Hinata was looking over her father’s shoulder at her classmate. Sasuke looked like he was on the brink of tears.
Maybe Daddy and I can make him something special.
“Um, Mr. Hyuuga?” Iruka gulped when his cold pale eyes turned to him. He could even feel the scrutinizing stares coming from the bodyguards through their sunglasses.
The Hyuuga earned their notoriety during a bloody era of unrest where Konoha’s crime families fought for their share of the city. Despite the almost four decades of peace, their reputation hadn’t wavered and Iruka had once thought he caught a glimpse of a tattoo on his arm when his long sleeve rode up a bit.
“We can’t have Hinata bringing food from home that isn’t pre- approved. Some children might have allergies you’re not aware of. Generally, we don’t allow home baked goods even for our holiday parties. It’s school policy-”
Fugaku sneered at Hiashi. “I wouldn't put it past him or his kind to poison children.”
“I respect your concern, Iruka- sensei,” Hiashi replied uninterestedly. “We’ll just stick to store bought sweets like donuts from Chief Uchiha’s favorite bakery. Oh, I almost forgot. How did little Uchiha enjoy the puppy treats? I can make some more if he learns to behave.”
He smirked and walked out, briskly followed by his bodyguards as Fugaku jumped from his seat and Mikoto tried to calm him down.
.
.
Hiashi had declined to bake something for the Uchiha; he didn’t want Fugaku to accuse him of trying to poison the brat. But he did promise to do something special for her class’ Valentine’s Day party.
On their way to school, they stopped by a bakery to pick up their special order and Hinata smiled at her father when all her classmates looked in awe at the cupcakes.
After showing Iruka that they weren’t homemade, Hiashi placed the box on the table where all the other food was displayed. He tried not to grimace at the other sugary sweets that other parents bought, and was glad he insisted that the bakery use a healthier frosting option on the treats.
Some parents are just careless.
He hugged Hinata goodbye and went about his day, wondering how long until Chief Uchiha made yet another unannounced visit to his office.
.
.
“How was school, kids?” Fugaku asked.
“Okay,” Itachi replied. He didn’t like being smothered by girls but he did enjoy the sweets that came with their affection especially on this celebrated day.
Sasuke grinned. “Yeah, it was fun! I got so many cards but I like Hinata’s best.” He pulled it out of his pocket and proudly showed them. “She even gave me two lollipops when everyone else’s card only had one! Even stupid Gaara didn’t get an extra one.”
Mikoto smiled at her son but gave her husband a stern look as to not ruin Sasuke’s good mood.
“I Ruff You, Valentine,” Itachi read out. “That’s cute. And what did you get your little girlfriend?”
“S-shut up,” Sasuke scowled at Itachi, a slight blush starting to cover his face. “Hinata’s not my girlfriend!”
As Itachi continued to tease his little brother, Fugaku brought his fist to his mouth and muttered, “It’s a fucking dog.”
“It’s from a children’s cartoon, sweetie,” Mikoto softly pointed out. She sometimes watched Paw Patrol with Sasuke when he was home sick.
“Yeah, and it’s just a coincidence that Hiashi’s wrote our son’s name on the card with a cartoon police dog? He’s such an asshole-”
“Watch your language,” Mikoto harshly whispered.
But their sons were still bickering about their special valentines.
.
.
Hiashi merely crumbled the cookie Hinata handed him. It seemed that during career day, Chief Uchiha had given cookies to all the children. Some were obviously decorated to look like cops while others were frosted with white and black stripes.
And Hinata happened to have received an extra cookie.
“Why did you do that, Daddy?” Hinata said sadly. “Mr. Uchiha said it was especially for you.”
He saw her pout and glared in Fugaku’s direction. The man, with his son at his side, was basking in the attention some of the kindergartners were giving him.
“I wasn’t hungry,” he replied. “Besides, we can make even better cookies right?”
Her face brightened and she nodded. “Daddy’s the best baker in the world,” she said proudly.
Hiashi smiled and, flanked by their security, walked hand in hand with his daughter. He could just get into a childish quarrel with Fugaku but sometimes it was just better to let things go. There were plenty of reasons to hate the Uchiha and his kin besides poorly made cookies.
I have a third part in mind to wrap this up but idk when.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Graveyard Sweethearts
It’s the most wonderful time of the year so that obviously means it’s time for a Sasuhina holiday themed fic.... A Halloween AU, of course!
Hopefully this means I can eventually deliver on all that shit I said a while ago about certain one shots (Chibiventures, Sasuhina Month, ect.)
Enjoy!
Hinata watched with fascination as her hands began to solidify. It was always an incredible sight to take in and her smile grew when she looked down at the rest of her body. She gathered the skirt of her dress and started to hurry away from the dark abyss within the old twisted tree. It had been there since before her time but she never could’ve imagined what lay within it. It was only as a spirit that she knew its true purpose; a portal to the living world.
“Wait for me.”
She turned around and cocked her head. “General?”
Sasuke straightened his blue military jacket, taking a moment to frown at the medals that adorned it and dusted them.
“I thought you weren’t coming,” Hinata said. “Again.”
“Hn.”
She beamed at him. “Ooh. Do you have someone to see? Perhaps you’d like to see your descendants-?”
“They’re all disappointments,” Sasuke replied gruffly. “The last I saw they were living solely off the wealth my family worked hard for, and contributing nothing to the country’s security. No, I’d rather not see how worse they’ve gotten.”
“Oh.” Hinata didn’t want to seem rude, after all she had been trained to be the perfect lady but she wanted to hurry and take in as much as she could before the night was over. If she angered the General, he wouldn’t let it go and she’d literally suffer for eternity hearing about how she wronged him. She forced a smile on her face but Sasuke saw right through it.
“Well, are you just going to spend the whole time lingering with the dead or are you going to socialize with the living as usual? If we aren’t going to do anything, we might as well head back now,” he said.
Her eyebrows furrowed with confusion.
“If I’m going to be out here for the evening, I’d prefer to be with someone who was raised with class,” he elaborated. “Or else I might end up living up to my bloody reputation.”
Hinata’s mood brightened; she had always wanted to take someone along with her when the barrier was weak. But the world of the dead was infinite and never ending. Hinata hadn’t found anyone she knew and the only measure of time she had was when she stepped through the veil on All Hallows Eve for the first time. She was dismayed to find out it had been around 70 years since she last took a breath.
The feeling of loneliness was immense and when she came back to join the world of the dead, she felt depressed. It was similar to when she realized she had first died. As any other spirit that wakes after death, Hinata had been distraught. She felt like it was a mistake and that she should still be alive. Slowly, she grew to accept the facts but it did nothing to lessen her grief. Her only companion was the General, Sasuke Uchiha, who seemed to take a liking to her. It was unusual since he seemed to scare off other spirits but he was always cordial to her and helped make the transition easier.
Hinata didn’t know much about his time when he was alive and Sasuke never mentioned what war he died in but the way his face darkened, she knew he didn’t want to relive it. Hinata respected his secrecy; most spirits didn’t reveal much about their own demise unless it was heroic or noteworthy.
She also didn’t care to tell others about the poisoned drink that ended her life; she didn’t know who wanted to murder her sister and never found out. Her death was purely accidental and she hadn’t thought much about sipping from Hanabi’s cup, immediately she was overcome by the burning sensation and shortness of breath. The last thing she saw amid the chaos that erupted was her sister’s tear streaked face as she held on to her dying older sister.
It had been difficult but having a friend made it easier to bear. The only argument they had was deciding whether or not to step through the veil during All Hallows Eve when the barrier between the living and dead is at its weakest. He had always refrained until she pestered him enough and he took the opportunity to check up on the living Uchihas. They had gone their own ways for the first time since they met and Hinata was saddened when he came back in a foul mood. She stopped asking him and had gone alone ever since.
“What do you usually do?” Sasuke asked impatiently.
“I find a largest gathering of people and have fun! Sometimes I’m just invited to parties by complete strangers!” Hinata happily replied. “If not, then I just walk around. You should see all the children and the disguises they wear. Oh, it’s such a wonderful sight, General!”
If she wasn’t dead already, Sasuke would’ve been worried about her decisions. “When we’re out here, you should call me by my first name,” he huffed. He had insisted she stop calling him by his military rank for quite some time but when she said it so affectionately, he realized he didn’t mind as much.
Happily agreeing, she grabbed his hand and rushed them out of the dead silent graveyard. She looked around for signs of life. “What do you want to do first, Sasuke? Oh, I think you’d like the….”
The sensation of touching someone again after so long had left him briefly stunned and he instinctively squeezed her hand. So she is soft…
“Did you hear me, Sasuke?”
He looked up from their joined hands to see her looking back at him. “…What?”
Hinata pointed towards a lightly lit area. There was always a party downtown. “Are you ready?”
Sasuke nodded and they headed towards the rising sounds of laughter and music. He scowled at the bright lights and people acting like buffoons while wearing horrid disguises. He took a glance at Hinata who looked like she was about to burst with excitement.
“Look! Have you seen anything so amazing?”
The dead general tried not to grimace at the “decorations” adorning the once small town he helped defend. He stepped closer towards Hinata as a gang of children ran past, hauling stuffed bags. They both tensed when he pressed his body against hers. Sasuke quickly stepped back and coughed, releasing her hand in the process. “Pardon.”
“It’s fine.”
They walked deeper into the town Halloween celebration. Sasuke bit his tongue whenever something annoyed him as to not ruin the evening for Hinata. He glanced over at her, his lip quirking upwards as she looked positively delighted at the jovial atmosphere.
Hinata had once joked that he would get tired of her, but it had been decades before they had their first argument. They simply got along marvelously which surprised those that knew Sasuke’s unpleasant attitude.
Before she came along he was a wandering spirit who kept to himself. He knew about the one night of the year when they could pass through the veil but he had accepted his death and saw no need to go back even for a short period of time. He had been the one to tell her about it when she looked particularly sad as she wondered if her sister was still alive.
Sasuke remained behind, waiting anxiously until she returned. Hinata hadn’t seen her sister and was still in shock after seeing how much time had actually passed. But she still held hope that the next year she could find someone she knew. However she never did, but it didn’t stop her from going back every Hallows Eve.
He didn’t understand her desire to go every year but she was happier and in turn that made him feel better even if he resisted going with her. In his opinion, it’s a cruel experience to endure; why would she indulge in such brief happiness when all it did was remind her of her grim circumstance?
“We should dance!” Hinata suggested.
Sasuke sneered as he looked at the people around them. “This is what they consider dancing?”
“Are you going to turn down everything I suggest?” she pouted. “Can you at least try to have a nice time?”
“I am trying,” he replied tersely. She narrowed her eyes. “Fine, I’ll dance with you at some point this evening but I get to choose when.”
Hinata beamed at him and clapped her hands together. “That sounds lovely, I look forward to it.”
In better spirits, they walked around with Sasuke becoming more relaxed but he felt that he was holding Hinata back from doing things. She denied it but he appreciated her consideration especially when he started to get overwhelmed and reached out to hold her hand at times.
.
.
“Hey, baby! Wanna have a good time?” A man slurred. “How about we go somewhere more private?”
Sasuke snarled at the drunk man who approached them. The stranger didn’t take notice of the war general that had killed many men and tried to look charming in his vampire costume.
Hinata smiled politely at him but stepped closer to Sasuke. “No thank you, I’m here with my friend.”
“C’mon. I’m not as scary as I look. I just want to bite something sweet,” the vampire joked. He grabbed Hinata’s hand. Before Sasuke could break his arm, Hinata kneed him in the groin and dusted her dress as he writhed on the ground.
“Never touch a lady against her will,” she scolded. “I hope you’ll be more courteous in the future.”
Shocked, Sasuke felt incredibly proud of her. He had always been protective over the noble lady so it was nice to know that she wasn’t as trusting as he thought. Offering his elbow, he escorted her away from the filth.
After making their way past the “haunted attractions” Sasuke scowled at yet another approaching male, this one donned in a striped suit and ghoulish makeup. The first man had been incredibly insolent and his protectiveness kicked in. The blond man noticed his hostility and faltered in his steps. However he glanced at the woman who caught his attention and it doused any fear.
“Hi! My name is Naruto!”
“Hello,” Hinata replied. “I’m Hinata and this is my friend Sasuke.”
“Nice to meet ya!” Naruto grinned. “I like your costumes. They look really authentic.”
Sasuke remained impassive.
“…Thank you.” Hinata gave Sasuke a look.
“So I was just wondering if you guys would like to enter a contest. We’re kind of short on entries for a costume contest at Ichiraku’s,” Naruto explained. “I promise it’ll be really fun.”
Teuchi had sent him on a mission to draw up more attendance to the restaurant and he had already signed up five more people. But then he saw the beautiful lady in the yellow ball gown and his jaw dropped, thankful that he had a reason to start up a conversation.
Naruto glanced at the man who he had hoped was her brother and smiled. “Cool costume. I don’t see many military costumes unless it’s some G.I Joe get up. Did you make the medals yourself?” Naruto tapped on them. “Or did you buy them at Kurenai’s costume shop?”
“How dare-?!” Sasuke said. “Do you know what I had to do to get them?!”
Hinata placed her hand on his chest and faced him. “Gen… Sasuke, please. He didn’t mean any harm.”
Breathing through his nose, Sasuke stormed off. Hinata sighed and shook her head apologetically. “I’m sorry but I think we’ll have to decline your invitation.”
Disappointed, Naruto rubbed the back of his neck. “I didn’t mean to offend him.”
“I know and hope you’ll excuse us,” Hinata curtseyed much to Naruto’s amusement and left.
She found Sasuke sitting on a hay bale looking miffed. “Are you okay?”
“Hn.”
She sat next to him and offered her hand. Sasuke looked away but seized it, feeling his anger melt away. “I suppose I need to work on my anger,” he admitted. “Or else I might end up killing more people than I did when I was alive.”
Hinata looked aghast until she saw his smirk. “That would be quite unfortunate,” she replied with a giggle.
.
.
Later in the evening Sasuke felt content; the children were gone, the crowd had dwindled, and even the music wasn’t as headache inducing as before. Things were dying down but Hinata’s enthusiasm hadn’t. So he insisted that she go have some fun by herself while he takes a breather. But Hinata wasn’t eager to leave him alone; she wanted to make it a very special night for Sasuke. An idea popped in her head and she reluctantly left him there watching the living and their antics while she found something to give him.
When Hinata returned with a mask, he couldn’t help but chuckle especially when she teasingly mentioned that it reminded her of him. Taking it in his hands, he agreed but liked to think he was slightly more handsome than the snarling monster.
“It hasn’t been as horrible as I thought,” Sasuke confessed. “Thank you for not abandoning me. I know I’m not the best company to have.”
“I would never!” She replied, looking appalled. “You’re my dearest friend.”
Hinata hugged him and he tensed before relaxing into her embrace. He had forgotten just how good it felt to be held especially by someone you truly cared for.
Releasing him but leaning against his shoulder, she watched as people danced in front of them with a smile on her face. Sasuke saw that her hair had gotten loose and he tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. She’s soft all over…
“…Um.”
Hinata turned to look at him.
“Would...would you like to…?”
“Hinata! Come dance with me!” It was the same blond man from before.  His blue eyes shined and there was a faint blush on his face.
Hinata looked at Sasuke who tried to look indifferent. “Um…”
Naruto eyes nervously shifted to the side. “I mean, it’s okay if you don’t want to.”
“Go,” Sasuke said monotonously. He put on the mask and shrugged. “You might as well have some fun tonight.”
Hinata still looked unsure as Naruto anxiously waited for her answer.
“I’d love to,” she replied shyly.
Sasuke bit the inside of his cheek as she was whisked away. However he was forced to turn his gaze towards them when his ears picked up on her laugh. He smiled at how she struggled to keep up with Naruto. Hinata was from another time but he didn’t know what Naruto’s excuse was for his lack of rhythm to the musical beat.
Yet they still looked like they were having fun. As he watched them dance, Sasuke suddenly felt something he hadn’t in so long; pity.
Hinata obviously loved to be in the company of the living; she looked like she belonged. But fate had been cruel and ended her life before she could truly enjoy it. Sasuke was already considered a man by the time he died, and to be honest felt like he had lived longer than he deserved for everything he did during his lifetime.
Seeing her liveliness caused Sasuke to wish she could stay, he would even stick with her despite his reservations. But some things simply weren’t mean to be; if spirits didn’t return to the hereafter, they would eventually turn into malicious poltergeists. Hinata knew this and always promised to come back, a vow that he never doubted.
Before he met her, Sasuke felt like it wouldn’t have been so bad to give into the feelings that fueled that transformation. But with her by his side, he didn’t see himself turning into one and Sasuke would never allow that fate to befall on his dear Hinata either.
Hinata bowed after the music changed. “Thank you for the dance, kind sir.”
Naruto rubbed the back of his neck and began to fidget. “Heh, you’re welcome. So I haven’t seen you around Konoha. Did you just move in? If you need a tour guide or anything, I can give you my number. I know all the best places!”
Hinata pointed her fingers together. “I’m not staying for long, I’m only visiting.”
“Well, if you want a free meal before you go, stop by Ichiraku’s. My next shift is on Saturday and I’ll make sure you have the best meal.” His voice was full of hope. “I’d really like to see you again, Hinata.”
Hinata’s eyes lowered. “Actually, this is my last night. I need to go home.”
“Oh,” Naruto said with slumped shoulders.
“I truly am sorry,” Hinata insisted. “You have been very kind.”
Naruto forced a smile on his face. “It’s okay, I had a good time!”
“I did too.” She was stunned when he gently kissed her cheek.
“See ya later.”
“B-b-but-” Hinata stammered.
Naruto winked. “I have a feeling I’ll see you again.” He waved and disappeared into the crowd of people.
Hinata cupped her cheek, wondering if her face felt inflamed. She pressed her other palm against her chest and although it no longer beat, she imagined her heart would be racing.
“It’s almost time.”
She jumped at Sasuke’s voice.
“C’mon.”
.
.
They walked to the graveyard in silence. He looked deep in thought and Hinata held back from asking him anything. The opening at the tree trunk’s center emanated a dimming light, only visible to the dead. Hinata took a deep breath but before she could get closer, Sasuke softly pulled her back.
“I still owe you a dance,” he reminded her.
“There’s no music.”
“Hn.”
Hinata felt his hand on her waist and the other gripped her hand. He started to lead her and they moved in sync. As they danced to the music in their heads, Hinata felt cheerful seeing him so carefree and spirited. The others often speculated that he could easily become a malicious spirit if he chooses to but Hinata didn’t see any darkness in him.
Even if you had, I’d save you like you saved me from my loneliness.
Finally he spun her around and dipped her. When she was upright, they bowed to each other and finished their graveyard dance.
“Thank you,” Hinata told him. “You have been the best dance partner I’ve ever had.”
“Probably just tonight. It’s not like the competition was particularly tough,” Sasuke grunted.
Hinata giggled and shook her head. “I’m glad you didn’t have such a horrible time. I promise next year will be better!” He feigned hesitation and she grasped his hands. “I swear! We can even scare one person if it’ll make you happy.”
She looked up at him, her eyes as wide and bright as the moon overhead.
“Promise?”
“Promise,” she insisted giddily. “But no children. That’s too cruel.”
“I suppose…” He cleared his throat. “Hinata?” Sasuke hated regrets and summoned his courage before it was too late and he lost the chance. “I think I’m starting to understand why you enjoy coming every year. It’s nice to feel and be felt. It’s nice to be human again.”
Hinata stared at him with a look of adoration and smiled. “It’s amazing, isn’t it? Thank you for experiencing this with me. Now it truly feels special and perfect.”
Sasuke cupped her cheek and softly stroked it with his thumb. “May I kiss you?”
Hinata’s eyebrows rose higher than usual but she quickly nodded.
Standing directly in front of her, he leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. When he pulled away, she looked just as stunned as when Naruto kissed her. “Perhaps we can make this a tradition, too,” he suggested.
“I’d like that,” she softly replied. She turned her gaze to their joined hands, but the smile on her face was hard to miss when she looked back up at him. “Can we dance just for a while longer?”
Sasuke nodded and they swayed to the tune in their head, dancing in the graveyard even after their bodies slowly became translucent.
They held hands until they lost the ability to touch one another, becoming small orbs of light that briefly danced around each other until they disappeared into the crevice within the old twisted tree.
The veil sealed soon after, lying dormant until the next Hallows Eve.
Btw, I’ve had this Hogwarts Sasuhina AU on my mind too.... I’ll probably churn out a few one shots in between Last Link as a reward for everyone being so awesome and supportive.

Why do I do this?
I don’t even know...
Anyways, the Hyuuga are a bunch of acrobats. In the Sasuhina version, the Uchihas do magic shows or are illusionists which Hiashi thinks are “cheap parlor tricks”. In the Naruhina version, Naruto is a clown or animal trainer (taming the beasts).
But I will say that I had envisioned these traveling show/circus AUs before I saw a trailer for the Greatest Showman movie. And both will be one shots because I don’t hate myself that much.

SH Month 2017: Stress
So I’m always gonna be behind the rest of the class but I’m gonna get some of these out, eventually... I had this idea way back when, I just couldn’t expand on it and let it sit in a folder until the prompt list came out. So I’m kind of cheating, LOL.
Ino hummed happily as she shopped. Her groceries list had gotten much longer now that she had to think of her boyfriend. Being teammates with Choji had prepared her to deal with someone with a large appetite but Kiba and Akamaru caused her to stress out when it was her turn to cook. There were dietary restrictions she had to keep in mind as well as what could poison or sicken the canine.
Frankly she didn’t know how Hinata and Shino dealt with them. She had heard a rumor that one of Team Eight was a real glutton and lamented that she had fallen in love with him. Thankfully this was just a dinner for her and Kiba.
Crossing off the last item on her list, she heard an argument on the other side of the aisle.
“How hard is it to find something so simple?”
The stock boy shook as Sasuke Uchiha scowled at him. “I’m n-n-not sure what you mean. We have plenty of lotions that have a vanilla scent.” He pointed to a nearby item and shakily held it up. “D-do you not like it?”
Sasuke pinched his nose. “That’s not the right one. I smelled it already, it’s not the same. There’s something else to it.”
“Do you have an old empty container? Perhaps it might make things easier.”
Rolling his eyes and his shoulders, Sasuke gave him an annoyed look. Of course he had thought of that. “It was thrown away.”
By her.
“I see.” The younger man looked around and pushed some containers to the side. “Oh! This seems to be the last one-”
Sasuke grabbed it, quickly recognizing the label. The other man sighed with relief as the scary customer nodded.
“Now do you have any candles that have a similar smell?”
Carefully the man eyed the scent listed on the container and resisted from rolling his eyes in front of the terrifying shinobi. Vanilla and Lavender?! Are you kidding me?! You dumbass mother-
“Yes,” he replied tersely. “Let me grab that for you.”
Ino followed them and peeked over Sasuke’s shoulder as he put a few in his basket. The employee quickly left as soon as Sasuke seemed satisfied.
“You really like that smell, don’t you?” she mused.
“Hn.”
“Why?”
“…Stress.” He briskly moved past her.
She raised an eyebrow as she eyed a few candles for herself. Taking a simple vanilla one, she checked and hurried home to get ready for her date.
Lighting up the candle, she smiled proudly at the meal she had prepared. In less than an hour, Kiba arrived and wrapped his arms around her. Just as he started to kiss her neck, he froze and scrunched his nose.
He started to sniff and before she could question him, he headed straight for the candle and blew it out, firmly closing the lid shut.
“What, you don’t like it?” she asked irritably as he opened a few windows.
“Eh, it’s a good smell but I don’t want it to linger in the background. I can’t get in the mood with this scent. It smells too much like Hinata,” Kiba complained and shuddered. “I don’t want to think of her when we’re having our special time.”
.
.
“Over there,” he pointed without looking.
The stock boy was now familiar with Sasuke’s requests. He had a strange fascination with the common combination of Vanilla and Lavender. How he managed to go through so many candles was beyond him.
“I need liquid soap this time.”
Then read the damn label for yourself! I’m not your personal shopper.
But the Uchiha was not someone who would take kindly to his obvious solution, his mental stability worried the village but perhaps the aromatherapy that he was indulging in wasn’t so bad. There had been no reports of him going off the rails or murdering civilians.
With that in mind, he curtly escorted the Uchiha to the personal care aisle and grabbed a few. “These should do it.”
“They’re all different,” Sasuke pointed out. “This has chamomile.”
“They have a combination of scents, but should smell similar to what you're looking for,” he pointed out with a hint of irritation. His fear for his life was dwindling as he dealt with the pestering Uchiha. “I don’t see any that are solely Vanilla with Lavender. Why don’t you come back next week and check, hmm?”
Sasuke started to open the lids and take a few sniffs, ignoring the other person’s presence. He quickly discarded the obvious ones but kept going back and forth between two. Just as the tired employee started to sneak away, Sasuke held them up and asked his opinion.
Quickly pointing to one, he hoped his misery would end.
“Sup, Sasuke.” Kiba greeted him. He eyed the bottles Sasuke was holding up and frowned with confusion. Why is that such a popular smell?
Kiba pointed to the one Sasuke was going to discard. “Huh, Hinata likes that one too. It’s a bit strong if you ask me but then again I got the best nose around. See ya.”
Sasuke didn’t know if his irritation was directed at the employee who had chosen the wrong one or at Kiba who for some reason knew what bath products Hinata used.
.
.
Hinata trudged to Sasuke’s home after the long mission. Welcoming her was a nice warm bath, and she quickly undressed. She could barely fathom just how quickly they gravitated towards each other after he returned to Konoha. It seemed like one second she was welcoming him to the village and the next… well, suffice to say that the physical attraction was there from the start. It was the emotional connection that took some time but now they couldn’t see a future without the other.
Their secret relationship wasn’t public and she wanted to enjoy the calm before the storm when they finally announced it. Her team’s attitudes regarding Sasuke were better but her family would be another issue. For now, they enjoyed each other in peace.
She heard the door to the bathroom open and she moved forward to let him sit behind her in the tub. As Sasuke washed her hair she sighed contently, inhaling the scent of vanilla.
“Hard mission?” he asked.
“Mmm? Not really.” She traced circles around his knees. “Sasuke? How long do you think we have?”
He clicked his tongue. “Not long. I don’t know how much more of this I can handle.” Sasuke hugged her from behind and kissed her neck. “I’m glad you’re back.”
“Me, too.”
Before leaving his house, she discreetly returned the shirt she had swiped before her mission. Hinata had lied about the difficulty of the mission but didn’t want him to get riled up. Those two weeks were emotionally draining and she often snuggled with his shirt at night, inhaling his signature scent.
The sandalwood smell brought her to the memories of their time together, when they got close either intimately or to just hold each other. She knew that scents often triggered things in people and his brought her warmth and happiness.
Sasuke watched her walk towards her home and smiled. Walking back to his room, he lit up a thoroughly used candle, laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling. The calming effects weren’t as strong as before; now that he had her so close to him, the smell made his yearn stronger. Sasuke would prefer having her in his arms again but also knew that it would happen again, likely before lunch tomorrow.
He blew the candle out and closed his eyes, hoping that tomorrow would come quickly. He had a lot to do and people to see. Sasuke just hoped that he could remain calm and stress free while talking to her father.
Alright, now on to the kleptomaniac prompt. It’s a SH Chibiventure follow up, too!

Be My Valentine
Some Valentine’s Day fluff for the OTP that tops all.
“I’m not doing it.” Satoshi hated Valentine’s Day. All the girls would give him embarrassing gifts like stuffed bears or roses and he couldn’t just throw them away, not after his mother got wind of it when she got a call from one girl’s parents. Now he was forced to accept them. But he still got rid of them in the politest way possible; he’d give them to the little kids in the class down the hall when no one was looking.
Suffice to say he didn’t like the holiday and this year was worse; he had to do something more humiliating.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes at his son. “I’ll increase your allowance.”
“Nope,” Satoshi replied with just as much firmness. “Besides I can just ask uncle Itachi if I really want something.”
He cursed his brother for spoiling his son and tapped his fingers against the steering wheel. Sasuke was parked in front of the school and had turned on the child lock to keep Satoshi from running out. Sitting beside the grumpy child was a bouquet of roses, chocolates, and a small bag of his infamous cookies. “You know, I’m not asking for a lot. All you have to do is give it to Hinata.”
“First of all, I’m not in Ms. Hyuuga’s class so it’d be weird going to her class. Secondly, I don’t want anyone to think I have a crush on her.” Satoshi blushed as he thought of the teacher everyone liked. To be fair, there were many times he wished he was in her class instead since she was much nicer than Mr. Sabaku. “Thirdly, she’s too nice for you. You’ll scare her off.”
Sasuke’s eyebrow twitched. “Name your price.”
The older Uchiha had met the kind and stunning beauty while at a back to school event at his son’s school. His ex-wife was at a work conference so he went in her place. At first he thought she was another parent but quickly realized his mistake when he saw her name tag. She was easy to talk to and he was disappointed that his son wasn’t in her class but rather his old high school rival’s. However that didn’t deter Sasuke from coming around more often which Satoshi found embarrassing.
The young boy liked how balanced things were before; his mother usually helped with fundraisers while his father would take any field trip chaperone duties. Now he felt smothered by Sasuke’s presence. His father was taking part in everything which unfortunately his mother happily accepted. Satoshi cringed as he remembered the so called sugar cookies he made for the bake sale. No one could stomach finishing one but Ms. Hyuuga offered to buy them all. He suspected she did it to spare his feelings but his father fell even more enamored. The only other person who looked displeased by their interaction was his teacher.
“A two night sleepover with Shikadai and Inoichi at your house. We’ll have pizza, ice cream, and soda, watch scary movies all night and go to the arcade the next day.” Satoshi sat back, confidently smirking at Sasuke. Irritated by the mirror image of him tauntingly smirking, Sasuke narrowed his eyes.
“No scary movies and I’ll let you camp outside,” he offered. “And you can’t tell your mother.”
“One scary movie and you have a deal,” Satoshi countered.
“Fine,” Sasuke. “But if I find out you didn’t do it, I’ll tell your grandmother you’d love to join her for tea with all her friends.”
Satoshi shuddered. It wasn’t that he didn’t like his grandmother; it was her friends he disliked, they would pull at his cheeks and tell him all about their granddaughters that had crushes on him. He grabbed Sasuke’s gifts after he turned off the child lock and slammed the door close. “Careful with those!” Sasuke shouted.
.
.
Satoshi stomped towards the car and threw his backpack full of valentines inside before getting in. He hadn’t had a chance to drop them off so he was stuck with them. Sasuke looked at him expectably, contributing his foul mood to all the fangirls he had to deal with. “Well?”
He huffed and looked at him. “You forgot to sign your name on the card,” he said slowly. “So she thought it was from me. Ms. Hyuuga thanked me for them but said that I should’ve given it to someone my own age.”
“What?!” Sasuke asked. He couldn’t believe that he had forgotten something so simple. Groaning, he slumped over the steering wheel.
“And Mr. Sabaku wanted me to give you this.” He handed him the sealed note and Sasuke opened it. As he read the contents, his face darkened. Crumpling it and throwing it out the window, he felt more determined than ever.
“What did it say?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Sasuke replied quickly. “When’s your next bake sale?”
“We’re not doing them anymore. People got food poisoning from the last one.” Satoshi had discarded the baked ‘goods’ as soon as he entered the building. He liked Ms. Hyuuga too much to let her suffer.
They both stared at each other for a few seconds. “It must’ve been Lee’s blueberry muffins,” Sasuke surmised. Satoshi felt like banging his head against the car window. “Well, keep me updated on any events they need parents. I think you have a field trip to the zoo next month for all the third graders.”
“Yeah…” Satoshi sighed. “But I think we have enough parents signed up so you don’t have to-”
“Well it doesn’t hurt to make sure,” he replied as he started the car.
While waiting behind the school bus to move, Sasuke turned his eyes to the right and saw Hinata laughing alongside another teacher. They locked eyes and she waved at him. Captured by her smile, Sasuke hadn’t noticed that the bus had driven off. It took the honk of the car behind him to shake him from his trance.
Sasuke waved blissfully at Hinata before driving off with goofy smile on his face. Satoshi crouched down in his seat, his skin crawling at the thought of his father acting like such a dork.
What was in the note? Eh, you decide.

Sasuhina Chibiventures
Part 1 of like three...maybe. Idk.
“Give it back!” Sasuke shouted at the first grader. “It’s not yours!”
The older boy sneered as Sasuke tried to puff out his chest. He proceeded to gobble the last cookie and smugly wiped his hands on Sasuke’s head. Enraged, the younger boy lunged at him only to be pushed away. Landing harshly on the pavement, he started to tear up. Kurenai managed to grab a hold of her unruly student while Iruka helped Sasuke up.
Hinata nervously wrung her hands as their teacher cleaned up the scrapes on Sasuke’s knees and cheek. He patted Hinata’s head as he went to put the first aid kit away. She hadn’t meant to get anyone hurt; she just asked the boy to return her snacks. But he only laughed at her and pushed her on the ground when she tried to ask again. Suddenly one of her classmates appeared and stood between her and the bully.
But now he was hurt and she felt worse. “Um…?” Hinata struggled to speak. He sniffed and looked away, too embarrassed to face her. Sasuke had let her down.
He froze when she kissed his cheek. Hinata kissed me! He assumed that it meant she liked him like every other girl in their grade. Strangely he wasn’t as repulsed; to be honest, he kind of liked the shy girl. “Do you feel better?” She asked. He pressed his palm against his chubby cheek but remained quiet. Hinata looked down at her feet. “Mommy always kisses it when I get hurt and it feels better,” she quietly explained. “It’s like magic.”
The two didn’t talk for the rest of the day. During recess, he played with the rest of the boys as Hinata sat with a few other girls under a tree. She had her knees drawn up, not really talking as much as the other girls. However when the bell rang, he walked towards her and pointed to his cheek. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “It hurts again.” Her eyes widened and she promptly kissed him again.
Hinata’s mommy is right, it does feel better!
.
.
Itachi waited next to the other older siblings and parents as they waited for the kindergarteners to be released. He spotted his brother lingering in the back. “Sasuke, come on we don’t have all day!”
He shot him a glare and turned back to Hinata. “My mommy is sick so she can’t kiss me. You have to give me another one to last for the rest of today.”
“O-okay,” Hinata said nervously. Just as she was about to kiss his cheek, Itachi grabbed him by the hand.
“C’mon, we have to go.”
Sasuke reached out for Hinata who rushed over and quickly pecked his cheek. Itachi winced as he readied himself for a massive tantrum but it never came. The little girl waved at them before running towards two stoic men wearing sunglasses and suits.
Itachi looked down to see his younger brother smiling blissfully. “So you got yourself a little girlfriend.” Sasuke felt his face heat up.
“What? No way, that’s gross!” He protested. Itachi held Sasuke’s hand as they walked home, noticing his face.
“What happened to your face?” he asked.
“Nothing!” Sasuke quickly replied.
Itachi frowned, deciding to let his father pry it out of him. If that failed, he’d just ask around and deal with the bully himself.
“Itachi?”
He perked up. “Yeah?”
The little boy adjusted his backpack. “Are kisses magical?”
Nearly tripping on his feet, he steadied himself. “Who…what?”
“Never mind.”
They dropped the subject until their father got home. Mikoto was still getting over a nasty cold, leaving Fugaku to pick up takeout food for dinner again. As he handed them their meals, he noticed the cuts on Sasuke’s face. “Why is your face like that?”
Thinking he meant the giddy look on his face, Itachi said it was because of the little Hyuuga girl in his class. “She beat you up?!” Fugaku wasn’t shocked that a Hyuuga could be so cruel, the whole family was shady and under constant watch. He knew Hiashi was still engaging in illegal activities but couldn’t get concrete proof. What stunned him was that Sasuke could let it happen; he was much more aggressive than Itachi was at that age.
Itachi choked on his food and coughed furiously until Fugaku patted him harshly on the back. Sasuke frowned as his coughs slowly became laughs. “Hinata didn’t hit me, it was that boy! She made it better.” Suddenly he turned to his father. “Daddy, are kisses magical?”
The man turned to Itachi for an explanation but he shrugged as he bit into his burger.
.
.
Sasuke smiled at his reflection, the wound had finally healed after being kissed every day and he wanted to show Hinata. After roll call, he pointed it out to her and she smiled. “They really are magical!”
“What’s magical?” Kiba asked.
Not wanting to tell him, he crossed his arms. “Nothing.” Sasuke didn’t want everyone to know about her special abilities. It was a secret between the two of them. Kiba narrowed his eyes but walked away. Unfortunately, he managed to get it out of Hinata during free time.
Soon she was surrounded by some of her classmates. “Show us,” Kiba asked. “Look! I have a cut on my elbow.” Feeling overwhelmed, she hesitated. “Please?”
“O-okay.”
Sasuke happened to look over from behind the playhouse as she quickly kissed his elbow. Everyone leaned closer after he pealed the band aid off to see if anything changed. They all frowned and looked at her accusingly.
“Maybe it takes time!” Kiba said. He smiled gratefully at Hinata yet she held her hands close to her face, not liking all the attention on her.
Ino showed Hinata the band aid on her shoulder and she nervously did the same. She looked around, trying to see where their teacher was.
“Me next!” Naruto pushed his way forward and stuck his chin out. “Can you heal this?” Hinata looked around as more kids circled around, including Sasuke. There was pushing and shoving as the children argued about who was next; a push from behind caused Naruto to tumble forward.
“Ewww!”
“Gross!”
“They kissed on the lips!”
Sasuke’s eye twitched as they pulled away. He never hated the Namikaze boy more than at that very moment. “You… you stole Hinata’s powers!” He erupted and pointed at him accusingly.
Naruto looked at everyone and shook his head. “I didn’t mean to! You guys pushed me! Here you can have them back!” He pressed his lips against hers again and quickly wiped his mouth when he pulled away. She cringed and did the same; she didn’t want to kiss anyone ever again. “Now she has them again!”
Enraged, Sasuke charged towards him but Iruka dispersed the crowd since it was time to practice their alphabet. C is for stupid Kiba. He thought angrily as he pressed hard on the crayon. D is for dumb, like dumb Naruto.
-Why? Because I’m getting burned out due working on the latest chapter for Last Link. I need fluff and goodness because I’m about to make readers very upset. Don’t kill me, I hate myself already.
