I originally wrote this in a chat with @multifandom-madnesss and @theobellz but now I’m all nice and soppy I want to share it with you all.
I feel like the inconsistencies and plot holes within TFP could be explained away by John's dream not being as 'good' or 'detailed oriented' as Sherlock's whereas if it's Sherlock's dream we're back at square one with every plot hole.
What if it's finally John realising that Sherlock is human? Could each of the mini-cases potentially be a mirror for one of their real cases (either on screen, on the blog or in ACD canon)?
Because I'm definitely on board with Sherlock completing his 'arc' at the end of TAB. However, that makes T6T and TLD make less sense as they're very Sherlock-centric.
Meh I'm confused. One reading makes certain things make sense but highlights other plot holes. Another reading fixes those plot holes but leaves other ones open.
Multifandommadness: the one theory that explains is all is that Mofftiss aren’t the geniuses that we thought they were.
Yes but it makes me prouder of us because we've made a coherent story up until TLD and I believe we will make TFP a coherent story one day as well. I love the fandom so much. And I have no doubt that one day I'll turn on the TV and see something remarkably similar to the gay pilot and then see a familiar name in the credits and know that this time around it will happen.
So I guess the theory that I believe in is fandom.
