↬ 💤 Napoleon relishes sharing warmth with MC on this rare mid-summer occasion of a significantly cold morning... And she says she hates every second of it. You know, the cold.

a/n: I don't know about the Nunuche in the fic but I definitely had a great start to my day writing this at 8 am... Oh oh and, Can This Morning Never End by Davin Kingston played from the sleepy napo playlist (spotify link) and I realized it's perfect for this fic... Enjoy! "It's soooo cold!!"

That's a new one. What happened to Good Morning, How are you? While Napoleon rubs the sleep off his eyes, he still recovers from the sense-awakening feeling of a cold nose nudging into his cheek. Well, he's the one who initiated the kiss that brought the sensation, albeit asleep, so there's no point complaining now. But still.

It IS soooo cold. For a morning in mid-August, while the rain that fell the night before and chilled the earth could perfectly be held responsible, having temperatures lower than 20 degree Celsius is still pretty much a whiplash. It was just yesterday that the morning chill was a welcomed calm before the storm of oven-hot Paris air that nests itself in the atmosphere around noon. And thus, the night before, too, was one in which the window was left wide open while Napoleon and MC slept cozily in bed.

It's pretty early in the morning now, the sun just barely peeking inside the room, a welcomed guest that is already taking on its duty to warm up the world today too, and surely about to overdo it completely by afternoon… but right now, that sounds almost good. Napoleon and MC would gladly miss out on this initial, colder part of the day, with the latter having a day off to sleep in as she pleases, but alas, they've promised a fellow mansion resident to help out with their urgent business in town.

"Cuddles." Napoleon mutters determinedly like it's war strategy. He opens his arms, eyes still closed, waiting for MC to crawl her way there with eyes as equally tightly shut as his.

"Cuddles." She delightfully agrees, backing up until the hard wall of Napoleon's well-toned front is enveloping her back.

She takes his right arm and guides her around her own waist, securing it as tightly as possible.

Legs intertwine.

Feet press firmly against feet.

Skin contact maximizes.

"Ah, much better!"

…And Napoleon's face heats up. Which is good. More warmth for Nunuche. While the sleepy soldier searches for a reason within himself to be taken aback from an activity they've partaken in what seems to be a million times, his dozing-off brain actually provides the answer pretty quickly. This is a very winter-like cuddle. Having his body touch MC's body in all those places, all at once… now Napoleon realizes he actually hasn't experienced this in awhile, the hot summer weather being at fault. And while he relishes in what almost feels like nostalgia, heart going ba-dum ba-dum ba-dum in his chest…

"Oh I hate this sooooo much!"

…

"And can you believe it's going to get hot again around noon? How do I even dress up? Ugh. I can't stand a second more of this."

Ouch.

"Forget every time I complained, I'd rather melt into a puddle on the street than experience this!."

Rather be a puddle...

Napoleon releases a heavy portion of air that he didn't realize he was holding onto. It tickles MC's nape and she shivers in his arms, snuggling further against him.

"Should I just get up and close the window, Nunuche? Or bring you a proper blanket instead of this thin bedcover?"

"Oh? No, don't bother… I already have my blanket right here."

The gentle caress of her thumb against the back of his hand is making Napoleon forget what his point was, to begin with. Something about wishing she'll get colder so he can get to be her blanket more often?

"Wooshh…"

"H-Hey! Don't blow air against my neck! Bad blanket! You're supposed to warm me up…!"

"If you were the big spoon I wouldn't have a chance to do this. Just saying."

2023 Character Wrapped

@geralts-yenn and @raccoon-eyed-rebel tagged me to talk about my favorite characters. And well, this is just too good not to pass up. So, join me, won't you?

Let's rank my favorite characters! (Based on # of times I have written them).

Under the cut to keep my ramblings off your dashboard...but you just know there are bunch of Henry Cavill-shaped bitches under this cut.

But, in what order??

Alright, let's get this party started with...

Walter Marshall - Night Hunter

I feel like this is absolutely no surprise that I've written the most for this grumpy bear. But, I just call him Daddy. Whether he be touch-starved, an enemy turned lover, falling in love like a love-sick puppy, taking a little "me time" for himself, or being the goodest boy as werewolf Wolfie. Even wrote a headcanon about his hobbies.

2. Clark Kent - Man of Steel, BvS, Justice League

I have loved the character of Clark Kent since I was a little thing, I'm obsessed with curly-haired nerds. Clark also is the only character I have written "fluff" for, be it praising what you think are flaws or surprising you for your birthday. I have written him as a Sub and as a Dom (in my only work that has surpassed 1k notes).

3. August Walker - Mission: Impossible - Fallout

I've never written August as the good guy, and there is a reason for that. In my head, he's the life-ruiner. He can be sweet (to you), but odds are he just killed a guy because the guy looked at you for longer than a second. I've written August as a pissed-off Dom who was sick of being interrupted, a very bad Daddy, and an Uncle who takes advantage of his nephew's girlfriend here(original) and here(director's cut).

4. Captain Syverson - Sand Castle

Oh, Syverson. My baby don't even got a dayum first name and he's popular. I've written him confronting a lover during a post-apocalyptic pregnancy realization, and as a married father-to be getting his beard trimmed and talking to his unborn daughter. He's also featured in my Werewolf!Walter Marshall story, and that's all I'll say about that. (Also, I've been referring to him as James Syverson in every iteration of the character that I have written for - I think.)

5. Mike - Hellraiser: Hellworld

My sweet baby boy. He is a guilty pleasure. I gave him a full series where he finds love and has quite the cast of characters as his family. But, technically, I only wrote the series because of what happened here and here, when his naughty Uncle slept with his girlfriend.

6. Napoleon Solo - The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

He's just so fucking sexy. I love him, your honor. He's been a suave and sexy older man wooing a young student over a good meal, and also started a series where he was falling hard for a woman in his apartment building (still in the early stages and I promise @deandoesthingstome that I will get back to this series).

7. Sherlock Holmes - Enola Holmes series

I have also loved Sherlock Holmes since I was a little kid. I thought he was the coolest person ever, but he's a curly-haired nerd so of course I loved him. I love when Sherlock is in love, whether he is ignoring his bratty wife until he takes matters into his own hands, or if he is having trouble coming to terms with new love.

8. Charles Brandon - The Tudors

This little shit. This redeeemable, sexy, fucking slut. I love him. I've only written him once, and it was a request! But, I enjoyed it. I loved writing him getting teased sexually and then taking control of the situation. So hot.

9. Humphrey - Stardust

Ok, not actually a fan of Humphrey, I've just written him. And that was all thanks to @sillyrabbit81's milestone celebration at the beginning of this year. This fic is kind of a weird egg, just, go with me though. The plot is: you and Humphrey are step-siblings who end up getting a little...involved. I'm not sorry for the title of this fic.

And to our last entry, the only non-HC character...

10. Lloyd Hansen - The Gray Man

What can I say? If I had the means, and I guess I really do but whatever, I would rank this man at #2 above Clark Kent. Because Lloyd-excuse me...Sir is one of my all-time favorites. I've included him inside larger stories as a bit player, see Bright Like the Moon (where he plays a bad man later in the series). But, I also wanted him to have his own show where he was the star, so I had him stalk and kidnap a girl and tie her up in the basement and call her Sunshine. I also wrote a little headcanon about his family, quirks, hobbies and his sleeping habits.

TL;DR: Walter Marshall is Daddy, Lloyd Hansen is Sir. And I need to finish one series before starting another. Maybe I will work on that. *snort*

I have written for a lot of characters, and I'm not gonna stop. I really wanna write so much more and my WIP folder is literally overflowing with things. I just started a new fic like the day I posted the most recent chapter of THiCC. What am I doing??

Greetings, fellow Napo-lovers! Our favorite sleepyhead's birthday is right around the corner, so I put together a little celebration, both for content creators and non-content creators alike!

The rules are simple: Every day from the beginning of the month to Napoleon's birthday, August 15th, I'm going to post a question for you to answer in your preferred way - via reblog, reply, or by making your own post tagged #napoleon birthday celebration. I. Somewhere in Southern Italy

A book lover through and through, and especially one that craves people's stories; memoirs and biographies alike lined up on his bookshelf back at the mansion, Napoleon had already painted a vivid painting in his mind of Southern Italy. Through, as many eyes are out there to behold, as many ways there are to see it.

As for the sight locked in the irises of Napoleon, no one has ever written about it. That's what he thinks, trying to remember if he was thoughtful enough to pack anything that can make a temporary travelogue. He's... not exactly good at these things. But maybe he can try. Right now, starting today.

"I see your seasickness is all in the past now!"

MC exclaims, still holding onto her hat by habit even if the winds aren't as strong here as they were on board. One last teasing about Napoleon's seasickness won't hurt now that he doesn't have to worry about it. He deserves it for trying - and failing miserably - to hide his malaise during their travel on the sea. Because he was the first to bring up the chances of having to deal with seasickness, but of course, he was talking about a certain Nunuche likely to experience it. And while she was perfectly okay much to his surprise, it's him that turned out to suffer. Quietly. It's one part ego and one part hating to worry her, an old story, nothing MC hasn't seen in the duration of their relationship.

Shifting his gaze to MC where she stands with the sea and the distant rocks becoming a background to her portrait, Napoleon is offended no one and nothing prepared him for the beauty of this sight.

What's more, had he gone far enough to fetch a pen, he'd be breaking it in two right now - because there's no use for him even trying to capture this in words alone.

Thus his journey as a travel writer concludes.

"I'm not sure. I think I need one more dose of the medicine to feel better."

The beauty of the scenery around them shakes Napoleon's pretend seriousness for good, and MC laughs at how he fights back a smile. The medicine he is referring to, and the reason why he finally broke and confessed about his troubles, is of course nothing more than a kiss.

Pushing herself up on her tip-toes, MC purposedly misses Napoleon's parted lips in favor of meeting her own with his sharp, chiseled jaw. It's nothing like the welcoming softness of his mouth, but she likes it. He clicks his tongue.

"I get it. You'll wait until we're alone because you're planning to give me a waaay bigger kiss than that. Am I right, amore?"

"Hmmm... partly."

Napoleon gives her a dangerous look that is just dying to know which part she means. Instead of gazing away to keep him on edge, MC lingers more on those blue eyes. Blue, yes, so very blue. With the sky kissing the sea in the perfectly cloudless midday weather, there's light blue all around them. Like twin mirrors, under this light, Napoleon's eyes abandon their familiar traces of jade green in favor of capturing the surrounding sight.

"I'm so mad about not having a modern camera once again."

Napoleon huffs out a teasing laughter, breathing in anew just as sharply while bracing himself to take hold of their luggage once again for the last leg of their moving to the destination of their holiday.

The house of someone that now goes under the name Gaetano Domenico Carullo and his big family. Napoleon has only seen the man once, on his short visit to Paris to talk with Saint Germain, an old friend. And fellow pureblood vampire. A series of events saw the youngest son of Signor Carullo saved heroically by Napoleon on the streets of Paris... and the overly thankful father offered a number of gifts to repay his old friend's resident, all of which Napoleon rejected. It was only when the little kid begged MC to come visit them at their family home somewhere in Apulia that the initially absurd vacation idea came into existence.

And now they're actually here, just a few days before Napoleon's birthday. Due to his selfless nature, the soldier had to strictly warn MC to not tell anyone of the hosts about it, as he can't accept more of their generosity than they're already offering.

"You're already wanting to capture the sights, Nunuche? You're excited like a child. We've only just set foot in here. Come on, let's go."

II. Il cielo in una stanza

Do all pureblood vampires live in remote houses up the hill? The change of scenery is a good distraction from the heavy weight of the luggage, but Napoleon still finds himself asking that question, making a comparison with Comte's mansion.

The similarities end there, as the house enters the pair's field of vision at last. Aged but unmistakably well-preserved with love and care, all earthy and at peace with the landscape from its stone walls adorned with little windows there and there to the clay tiles of the roof varying in shades of red and brown. A great place to spend a week or two, or a whole lifetime.

After a warm welcome at the door, Napoleon and MC find Signor Carullo's family amidst lunch preparations and join them without a second thought. One by one, the whole family comes together, hushed introductions crossing with spoken cooking instructions and hands extended for a shake crossing with ones passing ingredients and utensils around. MC turns her head in disbelief as yet another group of three enters the dining room, calming down only upon discovering they're just friends visiting for lunch...

So far she counted three daughters and six sons of various ages, but it might be her vision doubling as a result of the chaos and...hunger. Napoleon got caught in the introductions and met the family with the imaginary little bear responsible for the rumbles coming from MC's tummy, much to the little ones' amusement. And MC met Napoleon with her elbow. Her Italian might not be good, but living with him for so long, she has a good idea of the words leaving his lips even if they mend the shapes of the familiar French she's used to.

Napoleon speaks so fast that he's asked to repeat again a little too often, or maybe his dialect plays a role in this. She's not so sure, but seeing him enthusiastic to use his mother tongue fills her with warmth she was unprepared for.

Signora Maria is a woman well into her 40s, warm and friendly and seemingly laughing at everything Napoleon laughs at as well. MC recalls the secret Napoleon shared with her: her husband, being a pureblood, never turned her. Watching him seated close to his wife, MC is mesmerized by a sudden realization: him, granted eternal youth, is trying almost to match his wife's age with his appearance, sporting a well-groomed Mutton chops mustache that is old-fashioned even in this age.

After the delicious meal, MC changes her mind about not needing a nap. Of course. Discovering that the house indeed can get quiet enough for the sea waves' sound to enter through the window, the shared room becomes more and more appealing for that anticipated shut-eye. It could be those same waves' fault that MC's dreams are filled with blue, so much blue; a dream where she stands in that very room, but the sky has spilled through the ceiling, or maybe there is no ceiling at all. Or maybe it's all the blue inside Napoleon's eyes.

So I was about to go to sleep right now but I just can't let the month begin without starting my planned Napoleon Birthday Celebration...! 😭 I'm saying planned but I'm actually coming up with prompts for it on the spot LOL here's how it's going to work!! :
