We have hit Fall Wednesday in The Chill Save as of this update, and I am both pleased and annoyed to announce that this day was one of major accomplishments and one major fail in the Valicer household! Let me take you through it --
-->As you can see, Victor and Alice were both up early on this stormy day -- Victor because he was hungry (I let him have a bottle of PearFizz from the fridge) and Alice because she needed the facilities. Which led to Alice trying ONCE AGAIN to go out and shower in the rain (despite the fact that she REALLY did not need to), and me telling her “no, go back upstairs and go back to sleep” --
And her doing so still naked. XD Well, I guess if you’re just going to bed, you don’t really need clothes, do you? Victor found it rather shocking, though -- dude, you’ve woohooed with her, I’m pretty sure you know what she looks like nude!
-->Smiler, for their part, were busy working on their new SimsTube side hustle, finishing editing their first video on their sweet style, uploading it, and then going straight into making a funny vlog! Because if anything is on-brand, it’s The Smiler making a funny vlog. XD
-->Weather was miserable to start this Wednesday, with yet another thunderstorm rolling through -- and as if to punish me for constantly making them go away with the weather machine lately, one of the lighting strikes took out said weather machine! Hey, I paid good money for that! Strike the ground and leave random elements behind!
-->Also had a number of spooky things popping up in the house, as if to remind the gang “yeah, this shit still haunted.” Alice and Smiler were able to take care of the latest manifestations without issue, though.
-->Major Accomplishment Number One: SMILER FINALLY FINISHED THEIR PARTY-BOT! Yes, there was so little left to do on it, they were able to put on the finishing touches WITHOUT being electrocuted! :D I have named it “Party Time” and put it in their inventory for future parties. This plus practicing some programming also got them their “Techie” lifestyle back, which I approve of. :p Unfortunately, my attempt to have them continue making mechanisms for more bots did result in zappage, so instead Smiler went back upstairs to answer some comments and do more video editing.
-->Alice, meanwhile, did some painting and ate some raspberries before heading off to work -- the latter I included a picture of simply because I thought they looked a bit like the cherries on that hat Plumbella did. XD Interestingly enough, I’ve also had to remove the “People Person” lifestyle from both her and Victor recently -- Victor more reasonably got it after some flirtation with both Alice and Smiler, but Alice seemed to get it after fulfilling a want to “be ALONE.” Because she’s a Loner. *shakehead* Okay, fine, I made them a little too social to keep “Close Knit,” but they’re still nowhere NEAR as social as Smiler -- and shouldn’t being a Loner automatically stop you from being a “People Person?” I dunno, I feel like traits and lifestyles need to interact more strongly. And also “Close Knit” should allow for a handful more friends than it does.

Now that all Chapters for The Sounds of Nightmares have come out, what do you think of it, the characters, the new lore it has given the series & how has this changed some of your views on the characters & world?
It's a cute story, an alternate take on the overall series, but I don't consider it canon to the LN series. The lore from the podcast suggests that real children from the real world are teleported to this strange scary place in their dreams like an Alice in Wonderland situation, which explains their nightmares or why they seem to "wake up" because they are "teleporting" in or something. But that's not the case for the video game series. The game series is a time loop. Characters "wake up" from a "nightmare" because they are receiving premonitions of their death or a future event. (That also might explain why the Lady has a portrait of Six. Because she's dreamed of her own demise at the hands of that child.) (It's also suggested that the adults' grotesque appearances are due to the Tower's influence in the city, and any weird faces they have are actually masks built by the Doctor to cover their dignity.)
I'm also a little confused with the ending, where Noone/Ruth wants to leave, she wants to go to this place because she doesn't have her "water sickness" or "tumor" anymore, but like... the amount of suffering and horror she has been subjected to in that world in comparison to what little Otto has put her through I don't think is something that can even remotely be compared. It's implied the Ferryman manipulated her to lure her to that world, but it's a poor manipulation on his part. The fact that she went along with it is also silly to me. She is a child, but a smart one for her age. She witnessed kids being tortured and killed in the Nowhere. I think Otto being mean to you and plugging you into an annoying machine that gives you headaches is a way better deal here. (Though Otto implied to have drugged her is messed up) The Ferryman was a scrapped character from LN1 who would take children from the mainland and deliver them to the Maw, insinuating he was hired by the Lady. Instead, now he's a Ferryman to overall dimensions who transfers children there for unknown reasons. (It's maybe implied there are several different dimensions in the "nowhere" too.) It's also hinted that Otto's sister Sisi wore a yellow raincoat, which many would mistake for Six (on top of her name), but Six didn't get a raincoat until later, leaving Five/Girl in the Raincoat to be nominated for being his actual sister. But this world also implies that children only teleport there when they are sleeping, so typically they'd be wearing pajama attire when they enter the Nowhere. Long story short, I think this whole "yellow raincoat" thing with Sisi is just an easter egg they threw in there without thinking about it; because either way, a tie-in to an already-known character doesn't make sense. Noone/Ruth also claimed that the Nomes were creatures that "belonged in that world" but that's not true, as in canon, Nomes originate from presumably one source: the Lady, who turns children into Nomes to presumably steal their youth from them. In the podcast, that would mean the Nomes were children converted to be part of the world, but truly they don't originate from it like Noone implies. Little Nightmares is a series about the supernatural. A horror meta-commentary on corruption and greed. The Podcast coming in and being all "Actually it's just Alice in Wonderland" instead of it being its own natural, strange world just doesn't sit right with me. So really overall, I don't see it changing my mind on how LN works. I don't know if this will tie into LN3, but the developers are different so you can consider it a new canon if they do change things that don't match up.

ooo oooo i got a great idea for a request: fic where in reader’s cabin one night when she and her roommate are about to go to sleep they notice some bugs in the ceiling and turns out there’s like a plague of bugs and they can’t really do anything but they are obviously not gonna sleep there so they just go to the nearest cabin to see if someone can help them. The nearest cabin is Tommy’s, which he shares with the boyfriend of the reader’s roommate. They can’t help the girls so they just offer them to sleep in their cabin and say they’ll see what they can do in the morning. So the readers roommate goes to sleep in her bf’s bed (with her bf obv) but reader doesn’t know what to do???? so tommy and her end up sleeping in the same bed, at opposite ends of the bed but wake up tangled in each other and maybe they confess they like each other or something like that???
i feel like that would be an interesting plot, thank you so much, i love you’re writing!!!
I am skipping writing about the bugs because that's in my "do not write list" but it's implied and I like the prompt :) here ya go
Bunk Buddies (Tommy Slater x Fem!Reader)
Warnings: "and there was only one bed", tooth-rotting fluff, semi-confessions, the roommates will just be Arnie and Alice :), Alice and Arnie know they like eachother and they are not making it easy on them, Tommy is awkward and smooth at the same time

You stood at the side of Tommy's bed, worrying your bottom lip as you held your pillow. You were freshly showered, and in a pair of pajamas you'd managed to snag.
Originally, the idea of sleeping in their, Tommy and Arnie's, cabin had been a god-send. No one could've paid you to go back to your bunk after what you found in the ceiling. But, now, as you looked at Tommy's bed, you realized you now had a whole different problem on your hands.
The beds at Nightwing weren't exactly big, per se. Sure, they could fit their designated camper or counselor. But, unless you decided to get really close, two people was pushing it.
Alice and Arnie were already getting comfortable only a few feet away, and you were trying not to let your face heat up from the idea of doing the same with Tommy. Of course, out of all the counselors at Nightwing, Arnie had to be bunking with him. Speaking of Tommy, he startled you out of your thoughts with the words,
"I can take the couch if that- if you'd be more comfortable." He said, reaching up to rub at the back of his neck. Part of your heart melted at the suggestion. He was always so sweet. It's why you liked him so much. You were quick to shake one of your hands out in front of you, and you said a quick,
"No, no. I don't wanna kick you out of your own bed. It's okay. I can just-" And you felt a pillow hit you in the back. You turned as Alice said,
"Will you two just lay down already? I have to get up at six." You picked up her pillow to throw it back, and Arnie caught it as he snickered besides her. Really, neither of them were making this any easier. You glanced back over at Tommy, and he gave you a shrug.
"Bunk buddies?" He offered, and you smiled and gave a little laugh at the corniness of his suggestion. Sharing it is. You gave him a nod, and you almost thought you could hear Alice whisper a mocking repeat of what he'd said.
Laying back to back seemed like the best way to keep this- Well, civil. You stared at the wall, trying to will yourself to be tired. To not think about Tommy's back against yours and- God, he was like a human heater. You shook your head, trying to keep your thoughts off of him. But, you couldn't help it that Tommy and Arnie's cabin was one of the few with a functioning air conditioner. You didn't really have enough space to even put some pillows between you, like you had any to spare.
At least he's wearing a shirt. You told yourself. Your brain had malfunctioned when you'd come to their cabin and Tommy had been pulling on a t-shirt to answer the door. Again, you tried to keep your mind away from Tommy and to will yourself to sleep. But, of course, it was never that easy. It wasn't like you could fall asleep without making up some little scenarios anyways, so, after a moment of defeat, you let your mind wander with some thoughts about him.
***
You woke up hours later pleasantly warm, and with your face pressed into something that smelled like freshly cleaned laundry and body wash. You figured it was just one of your pillows. Your arm was wrapped around it too, and you let out a small noise before you buried your face deeper and pulled it closer. You ran your hand up, pressing your hand flat and feeling the warmth.
You only opened your eyes when you heard what sounded like Alice and Arnie's laugh, and then, what you could only assume was on purpose, the slam of the cabin door. After blearily trying to blink your eyes open, you realized pillows weren't usually warm and they usually didn't breathe.
You felt him shift, and you looked up to realize that it wasn't a pillow you were holding. You'd wrapped one arm around Tommy's torso, and the other was curled into his hair. In fact, you'd even snuck a hand up his shirt. Tommy had wrapped his arms around you, both of them wrapped around your waist and one of them curling up towards your shoulders. Your legs were tangled together, and you probably couldn't get any more embarrassed when you realized you'd wrapped a leg around his hip.
In your embarrassment, you tried to slide your hand away without waking him any further. You planned on maybe detangling yourself, maybe even escaping before he woke up. Tommy seemed to have other plans, and his arms only tightened around you as he sucked in a waking breath.
Embarrassment and panic ran up your chest as Tommy blinked his eyes open, and you watched him realize exactly what you'd realized only seconds before. In the fog of your embarrassment, the only thing you could think to say was,
"Morning?" And you were internally kicking yourself the second it left your mouth. You watched Tommy smile, a small one that curled up his lips before he murmured back,
"Morning." And you tried not to swoon over the deep rasp of his unused voice. He seemed almost- Happy to see you? Alright, you were totally swooning, but you managed to keep it inside your head. You felt Tommy move one of his arms, reach to place it on your side instead. "Sorry, I- I should've warned you." He paused to scoot back, letting you pull back your arm and leg, so he could put space in-between you. You were almost sad to feel him do so. "I usually hold a pillow when I sleep, so," He trailed off, but you could guess what he meant. You had been his substitute. You were flustered even being this close to him, and you whispered back,
"No, no, it's fine. I think- I was just cold last night. I'm not used to the a/c, and you're," You trailed off as well, letting him figure out the rest. Tommy seemed to pick up on your meaning, and he started to shift again.
"Oh, do- Are you still cold?" He asked, and, for a moment, you paused. There was no way, no way, that Tommy was- Was Tommy Slater flirting with you? You stared at him for a moment, having trouble finding your voice before you finally said,
"A little." Even if it was a complete, bold-faced lie. You tried to keep your composure as Tommy moved closer, his warmth radiating off of him and lulling you into a sleepy stupor. You bit your lip, trying to bite back your smile.
"Is this better?" Tommy asked, and you tried your best not to over-think how he sounded just a tad nervous. You gave him a nod, before a bold part of you decided to push further.
"It was nice when you had your arms around me." And you watched his eyes widen just the slightest bit, and, maybe it was the lighting, but you thought you could see his cheeks start to tinge red.
"Oh," He said, and then he was moving again. He wrapped one of his arms back around you, and you helped him adjust. When he was done, you were resting your head on one of his arms, the other curled around your waist. "Like that?" He asked, and you smiled up at him.
"Yeah. Perfect." You told him, and you couldn't ignore the smile he tried to hide. Your faces were close again, only a breath away from eachother. You watched his eyes flick over your face, before down towards your lips, and you tried not to think about Tommy leaning in to kiss you. Instead, he asked,
"Are you doing anything today?" He said, and you smiled at his question. He quickly realized how silly it sounded. You were both counselors, of course you had stuff to do today. But, you interrupted him before he could verbalize his embarrassment.
"I have to chaperone some stuff, but that's not until nine-thirty." He lifted up to glance at the clock, and you did the same. It wasn't even seven yet. Tommy settled back down and offered,
"Cool, do you wanna, maybe, get breakfast with me?" And, it occurred to you then that, perhaps, Tommy was asking you on a date. Or something similar to one. Images flashed through your mind. Sitting together in the mess hall, holding hands under the table, spending your morning together.
"Sure." You agreed, trying to calm your beating heart. He smiled at you answer, but neither of you made a move to get up quite yet. Maybe the bed was too warm, or maybe the company was too nice, but it took more than a few minutes for either of you to want to leave.
